Avis sur Fusion Kitchen Staten Island
Hands down one of the best and most reasonably priced Chinese restaurant in all of Staten Island. Their lunch menu is undeniably the best bang with your buck, with a complimentary heartwarming abalone soup! The portion and quality of their lunch menu items is top-notch, and you will for sure be full and satisfied! For their lunch special, get their salt and pepper pork chop, for it was perfectly crispy and extremely tender; by far one of the best I ever had. For dinner, I cannot recommend their beef short ribs enough, as well as their lobster stir fried vermicelli; the beef short ribs were so tender and juicy, meanwhile their lobster stir fried vermicelli had such strong wok aroma, or as we call it in Cantonese, wok hay. Overall, we have extremely high hopes for Joyful and cannot wait to come back for more delicious meals! Give them a shot and I promise you won't regret it! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:
The place was packed on a Friday evening as expected. If you like decent Cantonese dishes and don't mind the noise you will love this place . A man who had too many beers sitting about 20 feet from me was screaming from the bottom of his lung all evening while most of the remaining customers were almost as loud while talking and drinking beers .I understand this is a very Toishan thing as I am one myself , but this is LOUD NOISE , the loudest I have heard anywhere .Well there was nothing I could do and wanted to do , it is what it is .So let me also mention their portions are big and therefore = good value , I hope you would enjoy this place as well !!
The food is delicious and flavorful!!! This the place where you can get authentic Chinese food!! Highly recommend!!!! The owner is really nice!!! I recommend you get : Lobster 🦞 Sticky Rice👍👍👍 Fried Pumpkin Sticks with Salted Egg Yolk Salt and Pepper Silver Anchovy Salted Fish, Diced Chicken and Eggplant Casserole (with white rice)
Food is delicious and fresh! Nice size portions and the duck was perfect. 100% recommended it’s nice not having to go over the bridge to get fresh duck. The staff is super sweet and friendly as well.
The rice noodles were very delicious and the broth was super perfect to eat on a cold day ! i definitely recommend coming here 😋
Good food, service, and good price I like their lunch special rice dishes The tofu wit bbq pork belly was flavorful The sweet n sour eggplant rice was also very nice Will come back for sure for the claypot rices

Much bigger portion than expected. Good food!
From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place takes pride in every detail. The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance between cozy and elegant — warm lighting, soft music, and a calm buzz of conversation that makes you feel comfortable right away. The décor is simple but thoughtful, with wooden accents and subtle touches that make the space feel inviting rather than overdone. The service was exceptional from start to finish. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles and immediately made me feel welcome. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the food. They didn’t just take our order — they explained the dishes, offered helpful suggestions, and checked in just enough to make sure everything was perfect without hovering. That kind of attentiveness can really elevate an experience, and it did here. The food itself was outstanding. Every dish looked beautiful, smelled incredible, and tasted even better. The appetizer — a roasted vegetable and burrata plate — was fresh, colorful, and perfectly seasoned. For the main course, I had the grilled salmon with a citrus glaze and roasted potatoes. The fish was cooked flawlessly — crisp on the outside, tender and moist on the inside — and the sauce added just the right brightness. My friend ordered the braised short ribs, which were melt-in-your-mouth tender and bursting with flavor.
This is what is called a traditional Chinese Restaurant, not your usual individual menu. I have eaten in many in both Brooklyn and Manhattan large ones. The food here is soooo much better than all of them. Love this place, trying new things too.
I’m so glad Joyful Cantonese Restaurant has opened in Staten Island! The food is incredibly fresh and flavorful, and their lunch menu is excellent too. I’ve been here a couple of times and have never been disappointed. It’s so hard to find a great Chinese restaurant in Staten Island — I’ll definitely be a regular here!

This restaurant offers truly delicious food and has a wonderful atmosphere. I really enjoy visiting, and from my experience, it’s one of the best in Staten Island. I definitely recommend giving it a try!

My first visit to Joyful Cantonese Restaurant was quite pleasant. The aesthetic of the restaurant is quite nice with a good view of outside, nice patterns on the walls, and the decorations bring life to the place. The waiters were accommodating and polite to any request you had. And the food choices had variety and all dishes I’ve had were quite delicious.
The food taste is decent. We will come here when We don’t want to go to our favorite restaurant in Brooklyn on 86 st. We ordered the following items 1: Beef stew and dried bean curd casserole 2) E-noodles with mushrooms and crab 3) Fukian fried rice 4) Beef and Chinese broccoli 5) House special chicken- 1/2 6) Sautéed Snow Peas leaf with 3 kinds of egg Total $130.50 with tax For 2 people :)
This newly opened Cantonese-style restaurant offers great-tasting food overall. However, the space is a bit limited, and the wait time can be a little longer due to the small kitchen. Despite that, it’s still worth a visit.
They just opened today so it is a bit chaotic but overall the food is pretty good, on par with what you would get in Brooklyn, Flushing, and Manhattan chinatowns. Their Fried Dough “you tiao” is one of the best I’ve had outside of Taiwan though. I hope they can continue to improve their food and service and not go downhill as many new places tend to do. My two complaints were: My rice rolls did not come with any sauce. Thankfully I can make sauce myself at home. The lady who took our order said 10-15 minutes so we paid first, I took my mom home before returning, 20 min or so endeavor and when I got back, I still had to wait and they forgot I paid already. (They need a system or stamp to show order is paid). Edit: day 2, I called ahead for order, was told 10-15 minutes and now it has been 45 minutes…still no food. I only ordered 3 rice rolls, 2 fried dough sticks, 1lb roast park, and congee…. I witnessed a guy take 15 minutes to get the bill, a whole table sat and waited 10 minutes before walking out without ordering due to the wait. This is not good… despite how good the food is, this is abysmal service. 2nd update. 70 minutes later I have no food. They never even made it. This is stupid. I sat in their store waiting for 60+ minutes watching other foods being made. I could’ve gone to brooklyn and back, finished eating, done my dishes in all this time. I took a seat as instructed and apparently the same guy who told me to sit and wait… ended up voiding my order sometime during the 70 minutes of waiting in their store. Why? They thought I left. I was sitting in front of them the whole time. Never moved. Had even checked 30 minutes in and they said almost done. 🤯🤬 when I finally left, the guy who waited 15 minutes to get his bill… his table was never cleaned by the time I left… so it was left dirty for over 45 minutes. 🤦🏻♀️ 2025 update: It may be under new ownership now because all the staff are different, seems like a really seasoned restaurant crew who are competent, friendly, and very efficient. The food is also super delicious, on par with brooklyn chinatowns. True Cantonese flavors and styles.
2024.04.11 see big difference since day one. Highly recommend roast duck, it is not salty one like other places 2024.04.06 opened now, food is above average. All are good. They are a bit messy than busy in today day one. Looking forward to see their improvement. Rice roll is fresh. Roast pork, and bbq pork is good. Wonton average. Rather to see bigger wonton than 6 regular size. Psychologically small is overridden the word more. Congee is a bit light but taste good. 2024.03 Open soon. Very excited
Edit: They have improved their service!! Food arrived in a timely manner and the staff seems to be more accustomed to running the place. Definitely will be back :) —— Came here during their grand opening and it was extremely hectic and unorganized…waited an hour for our food and our wonton noodle didn’t even come in a bowl or with utensils. Food was good though. Better than some places in Brooklyn. Don’t get me wrong, the staff is very friendly but it just seemed like they either didn’t know what they were doing or were very overwhelmed, which is understandable for opening day.

Came with family to eat and it could've been better. Long wait time. Overcrowded and cramped compared to Fusion Kitchen. They fit a table in every nook and cranny they could find with not enough waiters to help. Waiters too busy talking to their friends and serving them first. 20 minutes in and the waiter comes by to say "we lost your order. What was it again?". You're kidding right? When the food finally came, I'll admit: it was legit. The food was good. But the overall experience was very tiring so I'm conflicted if I'll come back. Maybe just for ordering out.
This was my third time dining here, and honestly, the service really needs improvement. Each visit, the staff seems inattentive and there isn’t much effort in providing good service. The food has potential, but the flavors are very inconsistent — sometimes the dishes taste great, other times they feel off and lack balance. It’s disappointing because you can tell the menu is strong, but the execution just isn’t stable. Overall, I want to like this place, but without better service and more consistent quality in the food, it’s hard to fully recommend.

I was with a party of two including myself and ordering was just different. We ordered peking roast pork chops ( but the pork chops were just battered and deep fried bones with 97% of it being bone and 3% having a little bit of meat.. barely and that's giving it too much credit ). We also ordered an order of beef and chinese broccoli which came out perfectly fine - at least we hope so.. Also, we ordered both of these dishes from the lunch menu and the lunch menu says with each dish you get an abalone and cordyceps soup - but instead we got "mystery soup on the fly" as it was called chicken and corn with tofu that we weren't informed about until we got it at the table. Last but not least we also ordered a frog leg congee, never before did I ask for frog leg c and received the cornea of the eye of a frog... There are pictures for all of my claims here.
After back from my vacation, this restaurant had been switch to other owners. The foods were definitely delicious! Love it! 2/7/2026Don’t come! Made a reservation 3weeks ago at 7:20. They call to cancel my reservation because they are full!
I don't know what I am eating! I'm not sure if I'm eating the fats or bones. The roast ducks literally just have the skin and bones and the roast pigs are not crispy at all. They are smaller than the size of a dice with the texture of the skin being chewey rather than crispy. The food is bad and definitely won't come back again!!

Very bad unsanitary condition. They leave the garbage outside the front of the restaurant. I've seen rats the size of cats running between the bags. Ive lived on the island for 30 years. Never seen people in our neighborhood who didn't care about cleanliness. Oh well will never eat there again. I hope the city inspectors showup when the rats are feasting. Couldn't touch the food after seeing it. Another friend said they've put garbage back behind her car blocking her from driving away. I think it's time to move from staten island.
This place has no respect for the customers waiting to be seated. I was patiently waiting with my family to be seated next and when other people came in, they just seated them before us because they had more people. I would never eat in a restaurant that only cares about how many more people can pay over the fact that who supposed to be next. Extremely disappointed in the way they do business.
