Avis sur Nori Sushi Staten Island
For an authentic sushi experience, Nori is among the top places to go on Staten Island, in the same way that one might go to Jade Island for Chinese food. Though the restaurant has a little bit of a takeout feel, it also has the feel of a genuine sushi place in Tokyo, where I’ve been many times. When you walk in, you will see the typical sushi bar and you’ll hear the sound of Japanese music playing lightly in the background. That is no subtle thing, because many restaurants go off key when they play music that is unrelated to the food experience. Do you want to be in the mood, don’t you? The napkins, shown in the photos here, have been a staple for years, thick like a cloth napkin – – a subtle way to say we care about you because there certainly are cheaper alternatives. The staff is kind and will quickly go to your table to start you up. All of the food is delivered expeditiously. I love the Ramen and often get it. It’s super hot as it should be and perfect in the winter. One of my favorite dishes, shown here, is the grilled mahi served over soba noodles. An incredible dish, flavored with soy ginger and pineapple salsa. A must. The fried rice is one of the best I can find anywhere. Sometimes I get it with chicken sometimes I get it vegetable style. Either the case, super hot and not heavy heavy feeling at all, as some fried rice can be, Reflected in the light color, replete with egg and everything you want in fried rice. All of the sushi is so fresh and as you would expect it and they have a number of creative dishes there I’ll be back again and again, and I’ll report back with photos from the other sorts of dishes there that I like a great deal.
I have gone from being a “shrug your shoulders” over Japanese/sushi places to an obsessed patron of this restaurant. I cant believe Im not waiting on a line out the door to get in. Staten Islanders, dont miss this experience! Great prices, consistently delicious, fresh dishes. Friendly, attentive service and a fish tank to boot.
No change in my opinion. If anything, each visit solidifies my Love of this place. Nori is clean, fast and most of all Delicious. Great prices for a good portion size. Friendly service is also a plus. A hidden gem? Whenever I am in the area i find myslef weighning my options and winding up at Nori. Thanks you.

I ordered the California roll so delicious prepared nice the lady was so nice clean place fresh food beautiful sushi bar nice and quiet to eat and relax served fast nice pricey not expensive will be my go to place for sushi soup fish or what ever is good hear nice place
if you love sushi this is the place to go! this place was great! our server eric was super friendly and great. the nachos we got for appetizers was to die for, honestly the best nachos i ever had. the first bite i took from the nachos was like heaven and i already knew the sushi was just going to be as good. i got the boardwalk and it was so yummy! and the mochi for dessert was delicious i recommended the strawberry flavor. and the place wasn’t too expensive it came out to a little bit over $100 for 4 people. by far one of the best sushi places i ever had. sadly i was only in ocean city for the weekend otherwise i would be eating there everyday.
My new favorite sushi place on the island!!! I started ordering here during the pandemic and I only get pick-up (so I’m not rating in relation to the ambience or dine-in experience) but I LOVE the sushi here (and I am picky about sushi)! So good. Everything is very fresh, made to order, and presented beautifully. I like the 2 thumbs up roll and the 55 roll. They also have great classics like Philadelphia.
The food is BOMB. Super super yummy!!! They serve you continued green tea with your meal (which is awesome!) This place has reserved my go to sushi spot for a minute, and definitely for a good reason. The staff are always very polite! I can be quite the annoying customer, but I mean hey, at least it pays off in the end (for me lol.) Good foods to try from there: 1. Gyoza (the sauce they’re served with is amazing) and make sure to order them well done! 2. Miso soup (with extra tofu of course) 3. Shrimp tempura roll!! 4. Beef Soba (almost like a healthier, thin noodle version of beef lo mein) 5. Vanilla tempura fried ice cream with whipped cream!
I adore this place! I've dined in a few times, as well as ordered through Seamless countless times. My order is always correct, delicious, and leaves me wanting more. They are also very accommodating with special requests. The service is always very friendly and professional. If I ever move from my area, Nori will honestly be the food I will miss the most.
I’ve become a regular within the recent month I love this spot the staff is nice and the sushi is excellent and fresh although the prices can be better it’s definitely worth coming here. I’ve been to many sushi spots in Staten Island this is by far the best one! They are even super fast with delivery!

This place is a next level of you local sushi restaurant . Esthetic of food presentation, quality of food, and service. One of my favorite is spicy scallop roll. Sashimi is always very fresh and good size.

Pretty decent spot, great service, and chill atmosphere. Quality of fish and rice could have been more fresh, but good in out sushi. No shade, just honesty.

Decent spot for sushi but some of the rolls are a miss. [FOOD: 3/5] We ordered the spicy tuna, Philly, Amboy, and Two Thumb Up rolls. The last two were pretty good but the first two did not leave a great taste. Something was off about the fish to the point where I felt I had to eat it quickly. [SERVICE: 5/5] Service was quick and staff is very friendly and welcoming. [VIBE: 4/5] Tastefully decorated and very clean, with a small sushi bar in the back. Good spot for solo, dates or groups.
Just decent sushi enough to satisfied sushi crave for a bit. Standard decor nothing fancy. Local sushi joint. Didn't try their noodles. Sake selection limited and the bottle I wanted they didn't have it in stock or have anything comparable.

Their lunch special is reasonably priced. Got the sashimi, 3 rolls lunch combo, and scallops. The raw fish selection didn't seem very fresh. The cooked sushi rolls were okay. We didn't feel sick afterwards but we also didn't feel like finishing our food. Dining area and bathroom is very clean. Wait staff was nice and food came out pretty quick. It does the job if you're craving sushi.
Overall, it is a decent place. The best value meals comes from their combo menu. Sushi (nigiri) are priced outrageously priced @ avg. $2.75 per piece. For nigiri lovers who like to try various fish, I will not recommend this place due to the price.

Quality really depends what day of the week you order, sometimes the food isn't amazing, but other times you get what you pay for and then some. Would recommend. Edit: My last experience with them was not great, the quality of their sashimi was awful, to the point where it was essentially inedible. Changing my review from 5 to 2 stars based on this experience.

If you don’t wanna get poisont better don’t order from this place. I was a customer for five years and I recently got very disappointed. I have been asking to bring me fresh food even though it wasn’t fresh and I keep ordering from them and now this is the fifth time to received food that is not fresh fish.
My daughter and I got extremely sick after eating the shrimp tempura. My wife and son had Pizza and didn’t get sick. For three days we were in awful shape.
