Greer’s is exactly what you want in a small town, on the square restaurant. Preserves historic building but very modern and comfortable inside. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive as a team, making sure coffee stays full and food is served hot. Huge, shut-you-up-all-day portions! Blueberry pancakes were flavorful, loaded with berries and giant. Eggs and bacon cooked like we like ‘em. My coffee was never half-empty and she said her tea actually tasted like tea! Very friendly overall small town vibe on a Sunday morning. Great start to our day.

Edit 2025-05-03: Stopped in for breakfast. Very tasty, for the most part. But, a few weird things - French Toast tastedike pancakes (good, just odd). - Grits were completely bland. No butter, no pepper... Who does not season their grits??? - Potatoes were cut too large, so the flavor was not really that good. - Sausage patties were cold when I got my plate. Seems like the kitchen does not use warm plates, or they put put the sausage on too early. - Biscuits & gravy was good. Still had to add pepper to the gravy, as there was very little seasoning in the gravy (again, who does not season gravy???) - Three eggs were obviously very large eggs. And, again, no seasoning on the eggs. The food was good, after adding pepper. But, they should really start seasoning the food. ********** We went on a Saturday afternoon, so the places was pretty empty (very nice except for one screaming kid). Fried deviled eggs were excellent. But they need a different sauce. Maybe something like a honey-habenero. Pot roast was grat, and a huge portion. Don't forget to ask for rolls (apparently, you only get them on request). Fish and chips were pretty good. Though, the tartar sauce was very lacking. It was pretty much just mayo, with hardly any pickles in it. Tea was good, though it was very light in flavor. All in all it was a good meal. We'll definitely be back to try more things.

If your hungry this is the place you gotta stop at. We had lunch, ordered chicken quesadillas, burger, chicken soup, chicken fried chicken, a sandwich. More food then we expected but was perfect for a morning start. Thank you again for a delightful brunch, see yall next time.

Totally the best filet mignon I have ever had. The crunchy crab cakes are absolutely amazing! I would love to have the next side salad chilled. My baked potato wasn’t hot but I was savoring my asparagus spears too much to care!! I was disappointed with the bite of rib eye steak my friend had . The bacon wrapped filet was so perfectly seasoned that I couldn’t believe how bland the rib eye was! I loved the chill atmosphere and if you like to dress casual or dress it up ..you’ll be comfortable! It’s a cafe with a twist of old school steakhouse vibe. I wouldn’t mind having bread and butter before my meal. Our waitress was polite and very attentive. She mentioned that they serve breakfast several days a week. The breakfast menu is like a brunch on a cruise! I highly recommend Greer’s . Go alone , on a date, or a group of friends and family. Enjoy!! The price is surprisingly affordable!!!o

We came in tonight the staff was so so.. the food though was amazing. We got steak fingers and they were huge and the sides could feed 2 people! The chips are homemade and hot and so delicious! My husband got chicken fried chicken and it was super light and perfectly fried.

Had lunch here the other day. The food was okay. If you like midwestern cuisine, this would be the place for you. I very much enjoyed the steak fingers. They do offer grilled steaks, but I didn't get the chance to order one as we were in for a quick lunch. They also have a full bar, which was fun. Like I wrote earlier, the food was fine, but the only big critique I have is the interior. It's kind of bland and uninteresting. I wish they would take advantage of the historic nature of the building. The restaurant is located in an old saloon from the 1800s. There is even a Texas historical maker attached to the outside wall of the restaurant. Stephenville is an old Texas town, and the buildings in the square are beautiful. I feel that if Greers could make the environment feel like an extension of the history of the building it's in, it would be a very cool place to eat.

My Waitress was very nice and attentive especially given how busy they were at 12 on a sunday. However my table was a bit upset with how little seasoning the food had and that the mac n cheese was overcooked. I also asked whether my food would have meat in it and was told no just to bite into a brisket stuffed pepper. I dont have high expectations from American food places when it comes to vegetarian options but we were on a road trip and i get seriously sick when i eat meat, especially beef and pork.

I ordered a meal here recently. I requested that my burger was well done. When I got it it still had pink in it. I noticed after eating half of it. I told the wait staff about it. I have no idea if she told the cook or not. I gave her a good tip for her service but will not be eating here ever again. 2 days later I got extremely sick. I believe it was food related.

Service was not good. I ordered the French Onion Soup. Waitress brought it out and I asked about the bread and cheese for the top. She told me the cheese was in the soup. So I took my spoon and stirred it in front of her. No cheese and barely any onions. Basically just bland broth. Chicken and dumplings is very bland and thick. We had 6 people in our party and 3 of us sent our food back. We had eaten here before with better service and food. So hopefully it was just an off night.

I wanted to love this cute place on the square- the coffee was good and they kept it full, the waitress was friendly. Unfortunately, the eggs were so undercooked that they had to be sent back- a new set of eggs was sent to the table and those were also way undercooked with runny whites. My husband and I didn’t eat them. The bacon and potatoes were cold and potatoes were in large chunks with no flavor. We were charged for the raw-ish eggs, paid, thanked the waitress and left. I was disappointed with the food and will try another restaurant in the future
