Great quality bún! Was surprised by the quality of the pork. The lights are a bit much but the price and service are both quite good.
Great spot for a quick, delicious bite! Food is amazing here and it’s not too pricey. The banh mi and garlic noodles are sooo good. Service is quick and staff are super friendly 🤞
I tried the banh mi and the garlic noodles. Both were delicious! Their milk teas are also really good :)
Absolutely best banh mi on long island. the owners are so kind and friendly. everthing i order here is always top quality. ask for the secret menu item.(lobster hero) its the best i ever had.
The barbecue pork banh mi here is some of the best I have ever had. Always ask for the green/orange sauce if dining in. If taking out it costs 50 cents per sauce which is kind of annoying but it is really good. Their other options are great as well. I usually would also get the thai iced tea which was really good. Previous issues was that there was one man who would seemingly be very rude but he seemed to have gotten a little better.
Bambu is definitely a favorite of mine, whether it is for milk tea or food. A snack favorite is the waffle. My favorite dish in general would be the vermicelli bowl. I don't live in the area, but it's worth the drive. The service is always great. They treat you with such kindness, I can't complain at all. If you're ever in the area and want to try something new, please give them a try.
Hands down the best fried chicken banh mi in New York (literally I cannot find fried chicken banh mi anywhere else, please let me know if you know a place!). They also have extremely delicious drinks and dessert. There are 7-8 tables for sitting and this place fills up with students and people around the area throughout the day. There is also a bathroom. We ordered a chicken banh mi, classic banh mi, a fried chicken rice bowl (which I substituted for grilled chicken, though I think grilled chicken is more expensive), an iced Vietnamese coffee, and a pandan waffle (not pictured). Both banh mis were delicious in their own way. The fried chicken was super crispy, tender, hot, and not dry. The bread was toasted slightly on the outside so every bite included a crunch from the bread into some pickled carrots, cilantro, cucumber, and a bit of crispy chicken. You can order the banh mi spicy or not and the spicy version includes jalapeños. The classic banh mi has the standard banh mi pate and ham ingredients inside. If you like the classic flavors, you’ll like this one. The fried chicken rice bowl was similar to the chicken banh mi but just over a piping hot mound of white rice. This rice was cooked perfectly, was slightly sticky and soft, and blended amazingly with the crispy chicken. We were also offered some cilantro sauce and spicy mayo on the side and both sauces added that touch of extra flavor explosion. I personally loved the cilantro sauce. It was herby, a little salty, and just added some moisture to the carbs. The iced viet coffee was quite sweet but I believe you can adjust the sweetness level. It’s pretty good for viet coffee but it is pre-made and not drip made for each order. The star of the show (which I forgot to take a photo of because I was too excited to eat it) was the pandan egg waffle. Not many places make good egg waffles and even fewer places make pandan egg waffles. I believe the bambu cafe in Manhattan has pandan waffles as well but they are just waffles and not egg waffles. Egg waffles have little egg shaped ovals in the waffle. This creates little breakable ovals that have crispy edges and soft and moist insides. The waffle is not too sweet and the pandan flavor really shines. I may like this more than the fried chicken I touted earlier. If you are in the area, you MUST come and try this place!
A nice surprise to find Vietnamese che and other drinks (shaved ice drinks with fruit or jelly toppings). The size was perfect for the price and the toppings especially the chewy pandan jelly was delicious. The drink also was not too sweet. They have foods like vermicelli bowls, banh mi, and spring rolls. We got the classic bahn mi and it was delicious! Would definitely come around again. There's a restroom on the side. There was a short line when we got there but it moved pretty fast and the person helping at the register was super friendly and efficient!!
Update: some staff do have attitude for no reason. An older female lectured me, literally lectured me for not giving her a head up about requesting for hot sauce, she kept on lecturing and ended it with "this time I will give it to you, but next time you have to let me know earlier, so I can prepare it for you". All I said to her was "can I have hot sauce, please?" That was it. It was a rainy day, there was no customer or online order beside me. Her attitude and lecture were so uncalled for. Love this place. Feel like home. Their banh mi is always on point
I recently visited Bambu _which serves vietnamese food in Stonybrook. When you Google this place the description is misleading as it says it is a dessert shop. It is so much more. There are Bahn mi sandwiches, rice bowls, vermicelli bowls, wings vietnamese style and fries in addition to an assortment of teas with many different toppings. I had the pleasure of trying the Bahn mi spicy style rib eye sandwich and it was delicious and very spicy. It lived up to my expectations. My daughter had the spicy mayo, chicken rice bowl. That was phenomenal. This business is owned by a mom and pop and had authentic flavors. The front desk service was exceptional. The server was beyond helpful and friendly to every customer that came in. We also tried the teas and those were amazing. I will be going back there again. It is not very pricey and you get more than enough food. Kid/family friendly. Bathroom available and wheel chair accessible. Had maybe 6 tables. Very clean and inviting.
My new go to bubble/boba tea spot!! I've tried a couple places on long island and this place is the best. Its similar to the ones out in flushing. So glad I found them. Different varieties of boba and jelly. They also have bahn mi which are pretty good, not as good as the ones in the city. Nice clean spot to sit w friends.
Casual dining spot, welcoming atmosphere with friendly service. Tried the lemongrass tofu vermicelli bowl which was good (8/10). The grilled chicken garlic noodles were not what we expected, more cheesy than saucy but pretty good (7/10). The banh mi fries were good especially covered in sauce which was delicious. Also tried the potato twist which was a little bland on its own but great with sauce. I had the passion fruit tea which I enjoyed and my girlfriend liked her hazelnut mocha Vietnamese iced coffee.
Nice location with a Friendly Staff. Easy to see right off of Nesconsett Highway in Suffolk County. Plenty of parking and a wheel chair accessible entrance. Unisex Bathroom. Great for bubble tea. Also for Bahn Mi sandwiches and other light Vietnamese Snacks. Reasonably priced. We will definitely be going back.
I came a couple times here and the drink had never disappointed me. But today I stopped by, ordered my usual Fruit aaddict, and get very2 disappointed. The coconut milk was breaking. It has rough texture like in the picture. The lady at the counter explained that it's not spoiled. Sometime they received the bad batch. I meant, the price was raised, wont they do the quality control over the their products? If they received a bad batch, should they complain to the supplier and ask for a replacement? Because if they would just try to finish their "bad batch" of coconut milk, they will also soon "finish" their customers. Some people may not notice. But I am a foodie, therefore I know how the good food/drink has to be in taste and texture wise.. Please check again your coconut milk, because most of the drinks use that as ingredient. Thank you.
