Avis sur East Side Dining / Chávez Hall Stony Brook
This place has a wide selection of very good food. There is a lot of seating.
Great selection of foods and dining styles. Seating isn't terrible either
One of the last few good retail halls with eastern food, burgers, and pizza. Also has dine in.
Very nice! One of the best university dinning venues.
My fav place to go and have breakfast! :D
A much of options and healthy eats! Love it!
very very crowded but good food
This was in Stonybrook and have lots of food options.
Best place to eat on campus
Many GOOD choices of food.
My son Evan eats there.
Lots of great different varieties of food. Island Soul is the best out of all the cuisines in this dining hall
It is campus food but it has better cereal choices than West Side Dining.
There was such a variety of food offered for every taste
East side has vastly improved since it has opened, especially the dine in segment, providing unique, delicious all you can eat for a relatively low cost compared to other on campus options.
Now the best dining hall on campus. They have legit halal food! Food is generally healthy and tasty. So much better than the state of campus dining a few years ago.
food is normal taste, sometimes it is expensive if you dont have a meal plan
The only place to provide Indonesian food in the area. If only it was not as expensive.
Plenty of variety and healthy options at the buffet for $14.99.
Lots of food. Not of all of them is tasty though.
Food cold sometimes but pretty good, much variety.
A very suitable place for students to dine in. Has Starbucks, Mexican, Pizzas, Buffets and snacks but not the cuisines like Indian, Continental etc.
Nice selection of foods from Starbucks, pizza, and halal to the marketplace that offers grab and go options.
Different stalls to buy food, pretty tasty. If you don’t have dining dollars you can also get takeout/packaged foods from Island Soul!
A jewel of fine dining within the Stony Brook Campus. Ranging from tacos to burgers and a deliteful buffet. East Dining is far superior than West Dining and the SAC with it's pentiful food options that include Kosher, Halal, and vegetarian.
Worse than west dining and feel like overpriced but edible and has good desserts.
Ate at the Mexican Cucina. Had a bowl. The entire meal was cold.
Good on campus eatery with halal options 👍
Wish food quality was better
Food is mediocre. The only good thing are the breakfast omlettes but they shut down at 10:30 instead of 11 which is nowhere to be found on the website. Please update the website and stop misleading students!
It's good food if your a student and can't afford anything else but don't come here by choice I promise you it ain't worth it
I am a student in this school, and I know West Side Dining is better than East Side Dining. But for me, I live in Irving College, which just beside East Side Dining. So it is super close for me find food. More than that, East Side Dining locates in the centre area of teaching buildings, which is convenient for every one to eat here. At last, East Side Dining is close to West Side Dining. Although it looks like u need to walk for a quarter to get there on the map, actually u just need to go across the parking lot next to Engineering Building and u will see the West Side Dining. It will take u no more than 7min.
Food is alright. Dine in is notoriously bad. Island soul (the Jamaican restaurant) is actually pretty good. Halal place used to be great but went completely down hill. Everywhere else is average
It's slightly overpriced, mediocre food. Dine-In is hit-or-miss. Make sure to check the menu online to ensure that something you like is available. Some of the late night options can be quite tasty. Cocina Fresca is pretty similar to Chipotle in style, though there have been no complaints of e. coli here. Overall, it's main benefit is convenience since it's on campus. But beware that it has the most health code violations of any location on campus.
West side dining has more variety of food than east side.
Great food would recommend.
actually this place is rly bad
Genuinely abysmal food in the dining hall, and just okay food in the retail locations. Pizza is often soggy or stiff, vegetables aren't washed through in the salad bar, and I've found mold in the bread multiple times before. However, the service workers are doing their best, and the atmosphere is somewhat nice (if not a bit crowded during lunch and late night hours).
The food is only good during the week before classes and while the high schoolers do the tours.
Most of the food throughout the day is burnt or not nutritious at all. Burgers are either burnt or cold, French fries have burnt fry oil or something like that on them, food is generally tasteless. Not to mention overpriced. Fruit is good though.
you should only eat here if you attend this college or you work here, otherwise eating at other places isn't such a bad idea
The type of foods served at this place should not be served to students. Avoid this place at all cost
You spend more time online waiting to pay then the time it takes to eat.
The Halal store has terrible food and everything is double the price it is in the city
Tasteless food and way too expensive compared to the food quality.
This place has never heard of hygiene, work ethic, or seasoning, and it really shows. Not worth the price for meal plans. 👎😔
Bad food notorious for food poisoning, rude workers, and poor selection for vegetarians. I’d rather eat slop.
Their dishes are dirty and the food is not always fresh and clean. I do not understand that I have to pay thirty hundred dollars for the meal plan but their don’t allow me to use my own take out box, every time the to go box I used from this dining hall was greasy. I think this poor food hygiene will cause some students to be sick.
the fact that east side has a 3.5 boggles the mind. Food so bad its literally illegal, cullinart is getting sued for embezzling money from the university
the food here is genuinely the most putrid thing i would rather starve than eat here.. the cheese on the pizza is so gamey and oily. the mozzarella sticks, french fries (anything from the grill) tastes burnt. the cold cuts taste like literal rubber. they serve the same stuff every other day with limited options. the utensils , plates and bowls r FILTHY. everytime i eat here my body feels so gross. the east side store has airport prices. i cant believe i pay 29 thousand dollars a year to get served prisoner food
