DUMPLINGS ONLY SERVED lunch times. M-F 11a-3p S-S 10a-3p Went for Chinese new year will definitely be back again. Food was really good I recommend 11, 18, 19, 21, 22, 29, 16, 17, 43, 49, 52, 65, 74, 75, Get the hot tea, vinegar, and chili oil for the full experience. Use soy sauce sparingly. Can’t really go wrong with anything that has BBQ pork. Definitely recommend at least getting a sweet dessert and either a fried rice or noddle dish
Really the crown jewel of Chinese cuisine in Phoenix, you can get the orange chicken if you like. I'm not gonna tell you you're wrong. Orange chicken is delicious, and Great Wall does a good job at it, but you go to great wall to get the things you haven't heard of before (unless your Chinese and then you've fully heard of them before). Be brave and come for Dim Sum and be open to what they bring around on their carts. It'll change you. Also, they're open surprisingly late and sometimes you need late night Walnut shrimp, ok.
Reading other reviews of this places reminds me that Americans don’t understand much about how to be in this type of establishment. Lol. I used to go here all the time with my old friends and family, they spoke the most Chinese whereas my Chinese is just ok. Very authentic, culturally and flavorfully. Most Americans aren’t used to certain things, I get it. I was born here. I eat McDonald’s, but I’d take this over American food any day of the week. Also, if you’re ever in a Chinese market with a lot of Chinese people, it gets loud. That’s just the thing. I won’t ever complain about it because it feels comfortable to me, unless I’m being yelled at in Chinese, but that’s a different subject. Lol. I highly recommend. If it ain’t for you, no worries. No need to be nasty online about it. (Referencing a lady’s review about how she couldn’t understand anything because they spoke Chinese, like lady. You’re in a Chinese restaurant. This isn’t the red lobster.)
We've been going here for years and the quality has always been absolutely amazing. Its definitely a must go spot to try so many delicious things. I would go for the dim sum in the mornings and try the fried pork, shumai, and all the desserts.
One of the best family dinners I’ve had in a while — Great Wall does not disappoint. Let’s start with the lobster yee mein — the noodles are imported straight from Hong Kong, and you can absolutely tell. They’re perfectly springy, soaked in the lobster’s rich sauce, and just full of umami. The lobster itself was fresh and tender, no rubbery texture at all. Easily the highlight of the night. But a surprise favorite was the ginger scallion frog. If you’ve never had frog before, this is the dish to try it. The meat was super tender and had that clean, slightly sweet flavor that’s often compared to chicken but even more delicate. The ginger, scallions, and light garlic sauce gave it so much depth without overpowering the natural taste of the frog. Cooked just right — no chewiness, no dryness, just flavorful bites all the way through. We also had classics like salt and pepper pork chops, sweet and sour pork, concubine chicken, fried rice, and stir-fried green beans. Everything came out hot and fresh, and portions were generous — great for sharing around a big lazy Susan. As for the service, it was excellent. The staff was super attentive without being pushy. Dishes arrived fast and in good order, and they were great about clearing plates and checking in just enough. You really felt like they cared about your experience, even though the place was busy. If you’re looking for an authentic Chinese banquet-style meal with quality ingredients and solid service, Great Wall should be at the top of your list. I’ll definitely be returning with friends and family again soon.
What have I been doing with my life? Why haven't I been actively seeking out the Chinese Churasco experience that is dim sum? Could the earth be flat? I may have to question everything going forward if I haven't known about the miracle that is dim sum until this late stage in my life. I wasn't able to try everything I wanted to because there is just too much. I would advise pulling up the menu on your phone to be clear about what dish you want. This place is going to be a culinary ambassador for our out of town guests going forward and a staple in our rotation.
This is my go-to spot for dim sum! The service can be hit or miss—it really depends on where you’re seated. That said, I keep coming back because the dim sum is consistently delicious. I’ve only tried their dim sum, and I highly recommend sampling everything that comes around on those carts! If you’ve never experienced dim sum before, you’re in for a real treat. Pro tip: go right when they open. The staff is more attentive, and the food is at its freshest, straight from the kitchen. Some must-tries: the chow mein, shrimp shumai, flat rice noodles with shrimp and sweet soy sauce, sticky rice, tripe, and chicken feet (an acquired taste, but worth trying).
My family has been going here for decades. Food is authentic and excellent if you know what to order. The atmosphere is usually chaotic and crowded on weekends during dim sum hours, so keep that in mind if you’re easily overstimulated. We recently had from their regular menu the lobster stir-fried with ginger sauce (prepared with black bean sauce is tasty, too!), Peking duck, scallops with black bean sauce, salt and pepper fried chicken, steamed ginger sea bass, chicken chow mein, fried rice with BBQ pork/Chinese sausage, seafood soup with shrimp/tofu/egg flower/mushrooms, shrimp with walnuts and cream sauce (shrimp were gigantic!), and mixed veggies in a savory sauce. Because we couldn’t resist, we also grabbed some coconut buns, egg tarts (probably my favorite), and har gow from the dim sum carts. It was a fantastic birthday lunch! Edit: Added an extra photo with one of their lobster dishes - and my grandpa. This particular visit ended up being the last big celebration we were able to have with him before his passing. 🙏
Having lived in Shanghai for three years and I can most definitely say this place meets the standard for Chinese food! My family has been coming for years and when I moved back and came back to this place, I appreciated it so much more. I will for sure need to come back for dim sum on the weekend. Keep in mind that western food service is different then Asian food service, so it’s not that the service is terrible, it’s that it’s different from what we are use to. Also could barley snap a pic because everyone started grabbing right away
OMO!!! This place is amazing. It was my first time here, and I have passed this place a million times over. I'm sad to say and admit that I have ignored this place. You see, I love Chinese food. I will travel the distance to eat good food. Everything we ordered was delicious 😋. We decided to dine for 2 Sichuan style that included hot and sour soup, appetizers (egg rolls, butterfly shrimp, and cream puffs), Kung pao shrimp 🍤, and Mongolian beef. We didn't expect large portions at all. Soup was large and it served 7 cups of soup. We finished it. I'm not a big fan of hot and sour but it was too good not to eat. Shrimp was plump and tender to eat. Beef was so tender and easy to eat. The best part was the orange slices at the end of dinner. I have been to other restaurants that give orange slices, and it felt like it was only for Asian diners. I always felt cheated. I'm so grateful to be included this time. Great service and friendly servers. I would like to try dim sum next time. Thank you for the wonderful experience and making it special for us. Happy eating 😋 and dining. 😊
Best dim sum in Phoenix! Definitely a good idea to go right when they open, especially on weekends. Very fast service. Lots of carts full of multiple dishes. There were so many dishes circulating that it wasn't possible for us to eat every one. Everything was delicious except for the egg tarts. The pastry was really dry.

Visited Great Wall Cuisine while in Phoenix. First off, it’s only fair to say this review can’t compare to my in-laws’ famous and highly rated upscale Chinese restaurant — which also happens to carry Great Wall as part of the name. That said, expectations adjusted, this spot delivers a solid yum cha experience for Arizona. As you pull in, you’ll notice it’s located in an unassuming strip mall. Inside, the atmosphere is exactly what you’d expect — controlled chaos, with traditional steam carts rolling through a packed dining room filled with large family tables. The service is hit or miss, and with dim sum you often want your favorites right away, so sometimes you just have to wait for the cart to come around. Tried a variety of dishes. The Cheung Fun has always been a favorite of mine and it was decent. The Shumai, Har Gow, Char Siu Bao, Lo Bak Go, Taro, and of course Dan Tat (egg tarts) were all good. I think I’m officially done ordering Wu Gok though — that one didn’t do much for me and probably won’t be on my list next time. Almost forgot, you can’t have yum cha without Gai Lan, and as usual it was good — honestly a dish that’s hard to mess up. Overall, the best dim sum I’ve had so far in Arizona. Saluti
1. Authentic Cantonese food. 2. Authentic Cantonese staff. 3. The only thing confused me is: you will never know the price of each dish unless you ASK.
Was in the Phoenix area for Spring Training 2024, and my dad and I visited Great Wall Cuisine before we headed to the Dodgers game at Camelback Stadium. We arrived right at the open at 11am on a Monday, and there were plenty of people in line already. Great Wall has authentic dim sum cuisine, and we enjoyed it. Food is inexpensive and plenty of options. DEFINITELY recommend if you are visiting for Spring Training and looking for place that does authentic dim sum every day of the week (not just on the weekends).
Came with family for dim sum. It is very traditional and authentic push cart service therefore many of the dishes are only lukewarm and not hot. The flavor is just Ok. Not the best but certainly not the worst. Service is good, polite, better than most Asian places. We went right at opening but the place filled up pretty quickly.
Just about the best Chinese in the area, but that's not saying much in Phoenix. Wish we had any really good Chinese restaurants, but so far, we don't. I always go here for dim sum, and the dumplings are generally great. Stuffed tofu skin is probably my favorite. The shrimp egg rolls are amazing, and so simple. Where things get weird is any kind of meat or duck dish I get there is served room temp or even cold, never hot. I have asked Chinese friends if this is acceptable for dim sum, and they assured me it is not. Don't get a meat dish. It's gonna be disappointing.
Popped in for Dim-Sum on a Saturday (feeling nostalgic - as kid in the Valley, my family and family friends would hit China Doll on weekends). Great Wall is pricier than I’d expect at dim sum. It’s pretty good with a solid, wide selection. Service is pleasant and practical in that loud, hectic cantonese way. They serve all the normal favorites. My kid love steamed tsa shai bao and I’m all about daikon radish cakes and sticky rice tamales with chicken. The egg tarts and spring rolls were a bit of let down, though still ok. If variety is your thing, this is worth a try. I think I slightly prefer the dim sum place on the east side at the mekong plaza, but on the west side of town, this a great option for dim sum.
Everything was really yummy, and it's not super expensive. We paid about thirty dollars a person on an eight person table, and the only reason I haven't given it five stars is because I don't understand why they just stopped serving. At one point they just quit coming around with the carts and we weren't done eating because some of our party got stuck in flood traffic. We will definitely be back. And hopefully we have a five star experience next time. Thank you
Went for dimsum. It was delicious and very tasty. The shrimp and scallop dumpling wasnt worth the hype. The scallops were missing. The dimsums were served in the traditional push carts. The service was so so. We have to flag our wait staff each time we needed something, like refill the tea kettle, need chili sauce and to go boxes. Its a very busy place.

This restaurant offers good dim sum. The restaurant is spacious so it is good to accommodate large groups. The price is reasonable.

Honestly I expected a little better from this place. To start, it's set up a little oddly and is in a bit of a shady location. The service is just okay and while I usually don't have an issue with non-English speakers it was a little off putting for them to act like I was the problem when they didn't understand me. They also charge for fountain refills so beware of that. The food is not much better than what you can get at a buffet. The portion sizes are very large, so I'll give them that. Ultimately, not worth the price you pay (pretty steep).
The food took a long time , I ordered roasted pork but the roasted pork was cold and not heated up.

First time here. Very disappointed. I ordered a fukien fried rice dish. Nothing fried about it. Also ordered Kung po chicken no heat. Shrimp chow main wasn't good to me. The most disappointed thing was none of our food came out at the same time. We where all severed at different times. By the time all the food came to the table some of the food was cold.. this place was best as a buffet. Maybe they should get back to that. We got here at 615pm & by the time all food hit the table it was 640pm.. I will definitely not be back & I will never recommend this place
Tall middle aged skinny waiter with the glasses, terrible attitude. We were dining in, but asked to add an order for takeout and also asked to check on a missing dish we were waiting for. This waiter complained to us that it’s too busy and YELLED at us for not ordering takeout when we placed the dine in orders. He was YELLING that it’s too busy and don’t know when the missing dish or take out would be ready. We asked if he can ask the kitchen and yelled no and threw his hands up yelling he does not know or care. Mind you, we spoke Chinese and asked very nicely. No clue what his problem was. Other servers were fine, but this specific waiter ruined the whole experience. Please take your business elsewhere.
