Best Bagels in NY The only place I know that has super onion bagels too Sooo goodd!
Although this place is small it's usually packed. The food was good. Their bagels 🥯 taste so good, and bacon, egg and cheese was also tasty. I recommend this place to eat.
Delicious bagels definitely worth it.
When you have a staff member take your order, they are focused and get it ready fast! The bagels are so good and the chicken salad is worth stocking up on!
The best bagels ever! You can never go wrong with food, service, or atmosphere 🤔 😋 Everything is Great!
Check your order before leaving the store. I just did my 2nd order only to find out when I got home they gave me 2 lbs of the wrong cream cheese and now I can’t reach them 😡 Otherwise , they have Amazing bagels and the jalapeño cheddar cream cheese is amazing.
Always packed (which should tell you something), very friendly service and quick considering the volume on a Sunday when I stopped in. Incredible selection of fresh bagels and every cream cheese imaginable. I had Everything bagel (Not toasted, but they are happy to toast for you) with jalapeño cream cheese, smoked salmon, capers, onions. Was amazing and literally 2 meals! Best spot I've been to in area and it's not close!
Neat little bagel shop with some interesting options! Lots to choose from between a plain bagel with cream cheese to breakfast sandwiches. Nice offering of coffees as well. Give the fruity pebbles bagel a try; surprisingly tasty!
An out of towner who always gets bagels when in the NYC metro area. Lox bagel did not disappoint
I recently had an event with a lot of out-of-town family in Tarrytown and they stayed close by. This Bagel Emporium saved our asses in terms of breakfast each morning. Everything here is solid from the egg sandwiches to the bagels to the pastries. Some new creations like the Chicken Cordon Bleu bagel were exceptional. Also, incredibly friendly staff. I cannot recommend enough.
In its simplest form it's a deli with a wide variety of options themed around bagels. However, it's a deli so if you don't want a bagel there's more "deli" stuff to eat. Great for breakfast and lunch. They have tables so you can sit and eat once you get your food. During peak morning hours there's likely a line but they do have an online option that does allow for some sort of pickup but I've never used it. The location is great because there's plenty of parking. It's next to two banks and a CVS and other spots for food and even groceries. Easy in and easy out.
This place is super crowded at premium bagel eating times. But I don't see anyone turning around and getting their bagel fix elsewhere. There's good reason for that. It's also a true cross-section of the humans of Westchester. It's hard to say that about too many places.
Chaos on the weekend but worth it! Be sure to check bags for take out orders as I’ve been missing items but SO DELICIOUS AND WORTH THE CHAOS!
Nothing better than a fresh baked bagel! This place has a huge variety of bagels and theyre fresh and you can have whatever you want put on them. There is a well stocked do it yourself coffee/tea station with sugar from a dispenser (no tearing tiny little packs of sweetener) and lots of different creamers and milks you can use. There are some tables and chairs near the windows where plenty of light comes in, and there's a parking lot. Prices are affordable and I will be back again when I'm in that neck of the woods.
This place was dope as hell. Was visiting Tarrytown for a vacation, and we went here for breakfast the day we left. Bagels were unbelievably fresh, and delicious. Shmears were also fabulous. It's difficult to find a good bagel in Massachusetts. This place was a hundred times better than anything I've had near home.
What's not to like? Every flavor of cream cheese, type of bagel and sanwich/hero/panini imaginable! Food and service fabulous!
Amount of food choices and quality was very good. It’s a busy place, especially weekends, so consider ordering online for pickup.
The best bagel place in westchester!! I go for the Flagels. The staff is professional and so kind.
Great brunch stop for me. Service was terrific. Quick, humble staff and very courteous!
Really great bagels, Unique bagel flavors and options for spreads. This appeared to be a very popular place when I visited. I suggest to plan ahead with a little extra time. The order system during Covid may be part of that wait. Maybe it's a different system in a post pandemic world. I would say, it's worth the wait. The Chedder Jalapeno bagel was insane!
When they receive the bagel dough from Port Chester every morning, this Bagel Emporium excels at making the perfect texture, and knows their clientele inventory as if they memorize each customers order. Around lunch time, the people behind the counter, come out with giraffe, toys and interact with customers toddler 's as though they are the ultimate day care staff every parent and grandparent wishes for. Smiling customers help each other by telling one another their favorite bagels and pastries. Here, every detail and customer and staff are interacting like true neighbors. For 65 and older, forget Tinder. Tarrytown Bagel Emporium is where widows, widowers, and divorcees, find each other and the spark sizzles. For younger people and couples, this is a perfect second home to grab a quick fix of juice, coffee or sandwich, instead of a local bar. Tarrytown Bagel Emporium...If only you were open late nights, or 24/7, you would be packed. Michelin Star Winner for food, fun, and comfort.
Wasn't aware this place was around. Used to frequent when they had a store in OSSINING, regardless the bagel quality is still excellent they have many flavors that are difficult to find the garlic bagel the pumpernickel bagel, they also make a delicious breakfast sandwich highly recommend this soit.
Really good bagels and lots of breakfast options to choose from. They have many cream cheese flavors, fresh bagels, and tasty sandwiches, plus some healthy choices too. The service is fast, the place is clean and nice, and there’s space to dine in as well as parking available. Great spot for breakfast, and they also have good coffee. Definitely recommend! ☕🥯
Great bagels and spreads, and baked goods. Lots of variety. They can get busy, but are well staffed!
This is a Haven for cyclists who have returned from rigorous rides on the Empire State Trail.or thw Hudson Valley. The bagels are perfect in the way only New York Bagels can be. The service is prompt and there was ample seating indoor and out. We sat for a while enjoying our meal and recapping our cycling adventures. Awesome stop.
Hands down best bagel and best crumb cake I’ve ever had in my life. Staff were attentive and incredibly nice. I ended up buying half a dozen bagels to throw in my suitcase. I’ll definitely be back! Sorry I didn’t save my photo 😭 big fail
Decided to try the bagel emporium while on a trip to TarryTown per a recommendation from a couple who lived in the area. Glad we tried it. I love bagels and where we live bagels are very good so I was hoping we wouldn’t be disappointed and we weren’t. Many bagel flavor choices along with many flavor of cream cheese choices. The price was fair for the amount of cream cheese they put on the bagel which was great! We will definitely go back when in the area. Our wait wasn’t too bad, less than 10 minutes for 5 bagels and cream cheese and it was pretty busy.
There is most definitely a reason this place has remained the BEST BAGEL year after year after year. If you are looking for New York’s finest, you have found it. This is the place to get your bacon-egg-n-cheese. The place has a great vibe, they are efficient, and the place is inviting. Walter and his team at Tarrytown show up to give a quality experience. Can’t recommend this place enough. If you are a local, you already knew about this spot. If you are visiting the area, you don’t want to miss this iconic Tarrytown bagel. Lots of bagel options, lots of coffee options, lots of sandwich and baked good options as well.
Stopped by because I was in the area and saw they won a Westchester County award. I ordered my standard: toasted garlic with scallion cc, so I could compare it to some of my favorite bagel places. This bagel stands up well. Large, crisp on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. The scallion cream cheese has plenty of large pieces of scallion. Enjoyed it very much. I also grabbed a jalapeno everything bagel, because well, jalapeno! The green color is strange, but it tastes really good. There are not chunks of jalapeno in it, rather the flavor is baked throughout, thus the overall green color (see photos.) I would definitely get this bagel again with a spread next time!
Over all good. We ordered two bagel sandwiches, two different 1/4 cream cheese flavors oreo and cannoli and one half dozen bagels. I would recommend the English muffin bagel, the everything bagel, the cannoli cream cheese, and then make your own breakfast sandwiches. The oreo and fruity pebbles bagel were disappointing. Coffee was also good.
Very friendly, great products from bagels to muffins to sandwiches with drinks and ready made wraps and salads available for those in a rush. I was a little disappointed though that my two bagels and coffee were $10. Seems liked its high just to take advantage of the residential area...but hey, maybe their rent is high.
Solid bagel shop! Everything you would expect at a good bagel deli. It gets busy, so you can expect a little wait, but that's not a bad thing...its busy for a good reason.
The staff are really helpful and work quickly to provide service. The bagels are probably the best around the immediate area. I like the wide variety of cream cheeses they have. They can get pretty busy at certain times so sometimes you have to wait but you could turn that statement around and take it that patrons believe it is worth the wait.
Great bagels, great portions and good server. The only thing that is had been bad is when I order for pickup. I am a big fan of the egg and bacon on a roll , but also the sliced lox! They give you great portions on the lox! Always tasty, always fresh. I recommend going in person to get your food instead of ordering delivery. The last 3 times I ordered with Uber Eats, I got something wrong. In fact, one of the times I ordered and paid for the expensive lox and they forgot the lox itself! That said, I have never had any problems like that when I go in person and order there.
My first time here by recommendation. Probably the best bagel I’ve had in a long time. It was a bit confusing the system to order and pay after you receive the food. The only negative side was the man with grey hair on his late 40s that took care of me, he was rude and mean made my experience a little sour.
Good food. Would have gotten a higher grade, but ordering situation can be chaotic
Came on a Saturday morning so it was fairly busy. The general system is chaotic and we were unsure how it worked. The food was good but nothing special for the price, especially the coffee. The self-service area was filthy, and looking over the counter there were ingredients sitting out in improper storage.
I had a hot pastrami on a bagel & bagel with sun dried tomato cream cheese. So many schmears to choose from! Reasonable prices, clean and good service. It was a good place for a quick bite to eat. But, as an out of state tourist, I prefer some of the bagel spots in the NYC. However, if you’re in Tarrytown, I recommend this place.
Fresh bagels of all sorts, along with regular, low-fat and flavored cream cheese, muffins and cakes. Bagels are usually very fresh and you get 13 when you buy a dozen. There is limited inside seating and the shop can get very crowded - frequently long lines for ordering - the lines usually move pretty quickly and you place an order and then wait in another area to pay and collect your order. The person who takes your order also is responsible for filling the order and collecting your payment so there is almost never any confusion about the order.
These bagels are very good. Perhaps the best in the area. They don't compare to a great bagel from New York city's finest. But Westchester is slim Pickens. The only issue I have with this place I feel like they should have two registers. There's always a line out the door and they are not serving their customers well by making them wait. You are allowed to move up to the front if you're just buying something on the shelf, but there's not a lot of that.
Big selection of fresh bagels and spreads. Great fast and friendly service. Lots of room to sit and eat and enjoy. This place looks small from the outside but it's very spacious and clean. Prices are a little high, but worth it.
I love bagel emporium and having been getting bagels from there since i was a child. I understand that there will be long wait times and waiting 30-40 mins is a given bc of how popular the place is. But poor customers service is another thing. While waiting for a simple b.e.c. (i placed the order at 9:30, it wasn't actually ready until 10:30) The younger shorter woman running the pick up orders rolled her eyes multiple times at me and other customers and even shoo’d a customer to get off of the cooler so she could grab something. You could also clearly hear her talking about how annoying customers were as well. She explained the grill was backed up but that doesn’t excuse her attitude and poor customer service skills. She has a Big attitude for a small person honestly.
There really is a lack of great bagels in Westchester county. Bagel emporium is decent, and I like to order ahead. Problem is their website never works (just checked again today and still not loading) and they won’t take orders over the phone, so I either have to go in person or pay inflated prices on uber eats.
The customer service at this location and the Bronxville one is unacceptable. As a woman of color, my experiences with the staff have shown clear signs of discriminatory behavior. For example, after waiting in line and finally reaching the register, a female employee asked me, in a condescending tone, “Were you online?” The bagels themselves are excellent, but the staff is in serious need of customer service retraining. My husband and I both had similar negative experiences at the Bronxville location. BEWARE: the way they treat people of color—whose money is just as valuable as anyone else’s—is truly disgraceful.
Honestly disappointed in this store’s bagels and bagel sandwiches. I online ordered a BEC on an egg bagel and a blueberry CC on a fruity pebbles bagel. The egg bagel was not flavorful or salty, and on a $7.50 BEC where the cheese costs $1 extra, the bagel came without cheese. They were nice and remade the bagel, but then on the new sandwich the egg was raw and completely a mess with the yolk all over the bagel and loose egg white.
It was busy on a Sunday. The person taking our order walked away before we were done so we didn’t get everything we wanted. On top of this, they gave us someone else’s bagel sandwich, so 2/3 items were correct. The positives are that the bagels themselves were good, and they have decent coffee. But I probably wouldn’t go here again.
This place has great food but if you come in any time after 1pm they will basically ignore you. If I was the owner I would be livid because they are open till 4 and I came in today at 2 and everything was already wrapped up and they were cleaning and I stood there for about 15 min with everyone avoiding eye contact with me until I just left without ordering. I get everyone wants to go home but the employees are basically closing 2 hours early.
Just stood at the register for 10 minutes and no one acknowledged or asked to take my order. The gentleman in front of me left with nothing. There were 2 people sitting at a table and others online behind me. 4 staff working behind the counter chatting. They looked busy, one st the toaster one wrapping a bunch of cold cuts. Weird.. that no one acknowledged customers. The gentleman in front of me went to the deli next door, I went to the Chinese restaurant. There were also multiple flies on the mini bagels/twist and multigrain bagels in the bin directly across from the register…. Maybe I wouldn’t have noticed if I hadn’t had to stand there so long.
You guys have messed up my order too many times. Incorrect bagels, wrong orders, no hashbrown, but I've dealt with it because it's still usually good. However, this is the second time ketchup has been on my BEC and I HATE ketchup and ask for no ketchup. I didn't even bother eating the bagel. I might get plain bagels from you guys in the future, but not cooked bagels because I'm sick of getting the wrong stuff.
While the bagels were good, the hot chocolate was very sweet and made by machine with water not milk. The cashier was extremely rude and at a point yelled at me. Not to mention when I approached the register she told another cashier to service me. The new cashier took my order, then left me standing there and walked away without saying a word. When I walked out there was a man begging for money. I did not have a good experience here. I will never be back. This facility has no restroom.
Disappointing! Without sounding too negative or bashing a food business, cause I understand the challenges… I ordered a simple egg and cheese on a bagle. The egg was cold and the cheese wasn’t melted. I only waited 5 minutes during a busy time. So what happened there? Are the eggs premade and stored in a warmer, that perhaps isnt working? An egg and cheese sandwich isn’t the same cold. It definitely wasn’t hot off the grill!
Do not order online or in person !!!! Worse service , my eggs were burnt , my coffee was wrong, the hash browns were saggy and half the order was wrong even though I wrote NOTES in English and Spanish on the order which you can clearly see on the receipt ! Never again . They put my juice in same bag as eggs got my whole bag wet and it broke **UPDATE:** I called the number left by manager- nobody calls back!!! buyer beware
What a disappointment for my first New York bagel experience. I went this morning right when they opened and I ordered an everything bagel sandwich, an onion bagel with scallion tofutti, and an everything bagel not toasted. The bagel sandwich was burned to a crisp and the top was completely inedible, like honestly how do you in good conscious think that’s okay to serve to someone. I love that they had tofutti options, but the scallion tofutti was plain tofutti with a few 1 inch pieces of wilted scallion. The non toasted everything bagel is the only reason this isn’t a one star review. If I was just reviewing the bagel itself then easy 5 stars, unfortunately the toppings and execution were 1 star.
The bagels are tasty and egg sandwiches hit the spot. But actually getting your food is another matter. There could be 10+ employees working up front with numerous customers waiting unattended. Not just unattended but at times completely ignored by staff 3 feet away. Turnaround times are painfully slow. Many of the staff seem quite nice but it seems to be a lack of management or training. It’s a shame because the bagels are awfully tasty. Perhaps stick to mobile ordering to avoid those pain points.
Really like their bagels and flagels! But this past weekend is the third time we have ordered and our order was incorrect. Not the end of the world, but disappointing when you are paying extra for items you are not receiving. Update - Once again ordered, paid for the upcharge and did not receive it. Likely my fault for not learning. Between all of our orders we probably have accumulated $10 in upcharges for items we don’t get, kind of feels like a scam. Will be finding a new bagel place!
1/31/26 Leonardo still only SERVE A CERTAIN TYPE, some of the female are also picky who they serve..when you're next on line they'll twiddle their thumbs and not take your order if you are not a certain type of customer, they get orders wrong so check your orders before leaving. They are a bit rude to certain customers. THE FOOD IS NOT FREE AND THE WORKERS ARE PAID..WHATS THE PROBLEM.
I’m really not sure how this place (and its other chains) consistently get high reviews. The last two times I went in, my order in one way or another was prepared wrong, either missing items or adding on cheese to food I didn’t ask for. Really insane how simple breakfast orders get messed up as often as they do.
Our experience with the bagel Emporium was very disappointing and left a bad taste in our mouths seriously. After placing our order to be delivered by grub hub we received our food and there was a few issues with the food . When we called and talked with the manager Francesca and tried to explain our situation all she wanted to do was pass the blame and wouldn’t even listen to the problem at hand and definitely was not willing to make things right. we were trying to help them be aware of the situation so this did not happen to other customers however she really just didn’t care. We spent 55 dollar on some bagel sandwiches and a couple drinks and the food plain out sucked . Good luck if you go there and I hope your experience with the Bagel Emporium and Francesca was better than ours. I hope the owners see this review and take note to how this place is being run by their manager who doesn’t care about the customer
Getting overcharged "by accident" on regular basis. $23 for a bagel. Come on...
I ordered online as I was running behind for work. I was given my order quickly, but was disappointed to find only egg on the bagel when I had paid for egg, sausage, and cheese. I didn’t unwrap my sandwich until I was already long gone, and turning back was not an Option. I did need to eat *something*, so I ate it anyway and I don’t expect I would be eligible for a refund, but I’m pretty frustrated. This was my first experience as a customer here and will probably be my last.
If you order online, good luck getting what you ordered. In the last 5 times I have ordered online (a single breakfast wrap) my order has been wrong. Such a ripoff.
everytime i ask for crispy or well done bacon it always comes undercooked… everytime
They took 17 minutes to slab some cream cheese on a bagel. Told the employee twice to LIGHTLY TOAST it. Lady was Hispanic so I even told her in SPANISH as I am latino. Still burned it. First and last time I ever visit any of these locations. How can you just not make a bagel correctly? Its in your name.
We ordered two egg sandwiches yesterday and on mine I was served the rawest bacon I have ever been served in my life and, after accidentally eating it before noticing, actually had to return the sandwich (which was $10!) and ask them to remake it. In the end, I woke up in the middle of the night on Christmas sick to my stomach vomiting with food poisoning, which has continued through Christmas Day and caused me to miss two family parties. I strongly regret ordering from here yesterday. It has been the worst food poisoning incident I have ever had. The other sandwich was also made incorrectly with the wrong style of eggs. For $10/sandwich, we expected a much better experience. Nothing but regret here from what is nothing more than a factory of gross.
Once again a bad experience and I need to learn my lesson at this point. I stop going here because I have had multiple bad experiences and after a year I decide let’s just try it again maybe they just had some bad days. Of course first time back everything is horrible. Ask for well done crispy bacon please!! And I will show pictures I think on purpose they decided to give me the rawest bacon they had on grill. Bagels we ordered two of them had some kind of goo on them. Just when will I learn and I know many other have the same experience from speaking to them. Sad because we live in a great complex right across the street and have to go to other towns to get a decent bagel and experience.
Without exaggeration, I’ve received an incorrect order more than half of the time we’ve visited the Tarrytown location. No sausage on our sandwich, and it’s right here on the receipt. I’ve gotten used to checking our orders before I leave because we’ve grown to expect incompetency from the staff. Unfortunately for me, I decided to put my faith in the staff once again today, because I didn’t have time to do both my job and theirs. To the surprise of no one, I received another incorrect order. For the amount that you charge per item, forgetting to include parts of it is unacceptable.
Absolutely terrible service. The workers do not acknowledge you, and the environment was highly unorganized. I had to walk right out after the attitude I was met with when trying to explain to the worker that I’ve been standing here and nobody was taking my order.
I would not call what they make, bagels. They must be skipping something in the process because they are just dry pieces of bagel shaped bread. I will never spend a dime in there. Also, why the line out of the door. Is Tarrytown so starved for a decent breakfast spot ?
Switched Google accounts just to make another review. This is now the 2nd time in a row this occured , I don't understand where the disconnect is. Manager reached out to me first time around but clearly didn't speak to his staff about proper portion and quality control. Here we have a $17 food item that is yet again lacking. I'm not asking for $17 worth of salmon but the one item this place has a plethora of and is cheap, is CREAM CHEESE. For the amount paid there should be cream cheese on both sides of the bagel, not just one and the other side completely dry. I even included a photo of what they advertise their bagel with lox as on their website , completely NIGHT AND DAY. Don't know if I want to have a 3rd opportunity for disappointment.
