Avis sur Pier 46 Seafood Templeton
I always eat here when I'm in the area. They have REALLY good fish!! I got the salmon tacos, and my friend got the halibut steak with vegetables. Both meals were delicious! And I had so many sweet potatoes fries that I took them home. Yummy!!!
This has become one of my favorite spots in Templeton. The fish tacos here are DELICIOUS! The bread on the fish isn't too thick and the coleslaw that they top them with has a nice balance of crunch & spice. At first, I thought the price for the tacos was high but honestly, the size of the taco as a whole (and the fish that's inside) is WELL worth it. Also, The staff is accommodating and friendly & they have a nice little outdoor patio with umbrellas if you feel like enjoying the sunshine while you eat.
Atmosphere is a deli counter and fish market. Fish tacos (grilled) were out of this world. Grilling our fresh fish purchase tonight. It was delicious. Worth the scenic drive from Cambria.
Best Fish Tacos EVER! This place offers all sorts of seafood dishes but their specialty is fish tacos. The fish is so fresh, just the right amount of crispy breading with some cheese, cabbage and hot sauce on corn tortillas. Nothing is better on a warm evening than sitting out on their patio with a plate of these!
Been going here for years. Took someone there for their first time. He loved the Clam Chowder. Sweet potato fries are also delicious. Very fresh fish from their market to take and cook. I highly recommend Pier 46.
Love the fish and chips here! They have great sweet potato fries and excellent clam chowder! Also the salmon salad is fabulous! Can't go wrong, you can even call ahead to have your food waiting when you're rushed for time!
Stopped on our way home to the Bay Area from San Diego because it was lunchtime and happened to find this wonderful little spot with the best fish tacos I've had since Cabo. Service was friendly, helpful and our food was ready very fast. We got fish and chips for the kids and they loved it. Everything was fresh and perfectly prepared. We sat outside on the patio and chatted with some friendly locals. Only downside is it's about 2 and a half hours from our home! I look forward to the next time we are passing through Templeton.
Great seafood. Service was amazing.
I went here while staying at Wine Country RV for the 2013 Mid State Fair. I have to say it is now one of my favorite places to go and well worth going out of your way to try. As everyone says, the shrimp tacos are the best ANYWHERE. portions are big. I had trouble deciding between the shrimp tacos and the shrimp and chips so I just got BOTH. what a treat on both accounts. unlike anywhere I've been. I really didn't find them expensive at all for what you get. White and sweet potato fries are killer. Homemade, or so they seem, tortilla chips and great salsa. Very friendly staff. It is the perfect place to end a day of wine tasting. Believe me, it is very hard to find places like this. It's the real deal. I will be going back as oftern as I can.
I really enjoyed my fish tacos yummy 😋 and a cup of clam chowder. This was my first time visting Pier 46 Seafood Co. I love that they fry to order and everything is fresh however, it's pretty small inside and if you plan to stay and eat seating is limited but its definitely worth the wait. I highly recommend to all my friends and family and to people visting Paso Robles you will not be disappointed!
Clam Chowder was great. Clean claims, perfect broth consistency and not overly done with potatoes like some places. Fried Calamari is good but the portion is small for the price. Mussels are very good and served in a flavorful seafood broth that features onion, garlic, and herbs.
I've never had a bad experience here, the fishe is fresh, and always prepared perfectly. If you pair it with one of their beers, it makes for a nice enjoyable and relaxing lunch.
We really enjoyed our meals here. I had fish & chips, the rest of our group had Vermillion rock fish, fish tacos & swordfish. Everyone raved about how delicious each meal was. There only one "catch"about this place, it's not big enough for those busy times. We had to stand and how a table would open up, it did. We sat at the bar but jumped at the first open table. My point is if you love seafood this place does it right. Just be prepared to have to wait for a seat during meal time.
Great food in a Trader Joe's Mall. You don't go for the atmosphere, you go for the good food. Among the best clam chowder I've ever had. Fish tacos are superlative.
Came here for lunch and had the fish and chips and the fish tacos. Tacos are loaded with fish and veggies. Fish n chips were light and tasty. Everything was very fresh. Could see why the place was so crowded. When the locals eat somewhere it's usually good.
This place is just so awesome. The food is excellent, consistently. I've changed things on the menu and they never disappoint. Favorite place to grab food. I love how it has the best of Italian, Japanese, Mexican, Pacific Islander, what a great spot all the best seafood dishes with quality ingredients at an affordable price. Can't say enough good things, just thank you to the staff and owners. Also, this place has so little turnover, it's evident they treat their staff right.
tacos r good but less cabbage would be better
This place serves great seafood from fried to grilled. There is a good selection of local wines and beers. The fried fish, clams, and calamari are tasty, but my gall bladder prefers their grilled "catch of the day" fish dinner with veggies and fresh mixed salad for a healthy option. The grilled fish tacos are another great choice. The seared ahi salad is normally a real treat, but I was disappointed when it was overcooked this week and had too much stringy connective tissue. Otherwise I would give them 5 stars. Had the ahi salad again and it was excellent, nice sear and melted in my mouth. Changed my rating to 5 stars.
Food was spectacular!! Outdoor seating to.
Delicious seafood place. Casual setting. Indoor and outdoor seating.
Staying in Cambria we came across Pier 46 by chance. Wow what great luck to find this place . The most delicious freshest swordfish I have eaten and the portion of fish was enormous and came with rice pilaf and steamed veggies for $20 My wife's halibut was excellent as well Disregard the review from the supposed "local guide" as its total BS from start to finish.Reading his other reviews its clear he's only happy being unhappy !
What an amazing place! Favorite of my wife and I, we stop every chance we get. They have my vote for the BEST Fish and chip in Slo. and S.B. county. Super fresh and amazingly crisp. The chips(fries) can be regular and/or sweet potato. All the condiments you could want. Plus it's in a cute small center that has some other great shops.
I had lunch there today. They were fast. they were efficient they were above all friendly, courteous, and kind. It was like having a red carpet rolled out,, the way they treated me and my party. We both had the fish and chips , reasonably priced, I thought at $15. The fish fried, I'm telling you to perfection... and toss in their French fries and sweet potato fries. oh my gosh you are in fish and chip heaven. The portion was big, in fact so much so, I had to ask for a box to bring leftovers home. If you're ever in my neck of the woods, Templeton just happens to be the town next door, I do hope you stop at this nice little place. Your taste buds and stomach will thank you that you did :)
We got a tip from Bay Area friend about the fish tacos here. We stopped and had one grilled fish taco each (they’re big). I’ve had a lot of fish tacos in my life and this was the best! Something about the sauce and fresh ingredients-perfect! Busy place with small shady deck. Parking is tight (it’s by a Trader Joe’s), so try to hit off peak hours. Really great stop on a road trip, highly recommend.
Customer service was great. Friendly hometown feeling. Food was amazing. Fish was not smelly nor was there a lingering aroma of fish in the restaurant. I had expected this from experiences in past at other restaurants selling or serving fresh fish. Great local vendors also promoted on spice and things for sale shelf. Its quaint and its quick and fair prices for such large portions.
Wonderful service . Mom had shrimp Louie salad. She loved it! I had the salmon dinner . It was delicious. Grilled salmon was perfect along with the rice. The vegetables were flavorful, tasty. A wonderful lunch. They just need more outdoor seating.
Update: I wanted to update my review as I’ve been to this restaurant since my previous review. I did not have any issues or problems regarding bills and the food is quite good. I believe the unfortunate incident was a one-off. I want to be fair and they deserve a 5 star. My husband and I spent 2 weeks in Paso wine country. We stayed at Piccolo and dined at the most expensive restaurants in town. We met many people at wine tasting and the locals told us about this place. So on our drive home, we stopped by to grab some lunch. The food was ok. The raw oyster was good. But we had a very disappointing experience. They charged me something I didn’t order and did not give me refund. All I can say is these people are either too busy and forgot (not a good business practice) or they are dishonest (also not a good business practice). I dined there on Oct 3rd and spent $70.51. A young woman helped me. I asked her about the ceviche (or poke) they had on the menu. I took a look and didn’t like it so I told her I didn’t want it. Unbeknownst to me, she charged me for it!!! I didn’t know this until my husband picked up our order. It had ceviche written on the receipt as one of the orders but we didn’t receive the food. I went back to the register and spoke to another young woman. She confirmed they did charge me for the ceviche and asked if I wanted it. I told her I never ordered it, didn’t receive it and don’t want it. I asked her to give me a refund then. She went to the back and came back, told me the manager wasn’t there at the moment so she couldn’t give me a refund right there and then (who runs a business like this??). But she said they would refund me in a few days. It has been 2 weeks but I still have not received a credit on my card! I mean it’s not a big charge, it’s like $6 or $7. But if they’re dishonest with a small amount, I wonder what else they’re dishonest about! Buyer beware. Check your recipe. Update: the owner reached out after I posted my review and refunded me the erroneous charge. So I’ve updated my rating.
Excellent experience! My mother got Tacos and I got a lobster nachos and they were both incredible. They have a large menu and fresh cuts of fish and other seafood to order and cook at home if you like. Beers on tap. Patio seating. Will definitely return.
Great, fresh and tasty seafood. Had gone with 3 other people and all of our food very good.
I have only purchased retail fish so far. Super fresh, very high quality. Pricey but there’s no way to get quality and freshness for cheap. Looking forward to dining there when our weather moderates.
One of my favorite seafood places in the area. Reasonably priced for good quality and quantity. You can’t go wrong with the fish tacos, i usually sub the tortilla chips for fries (you can ask for just sweet potato fries if you prefer, but i get the regular ones, they usually come mixed with sweet potato fries anyway). Also really good clam chowder! Friendly service too. All around a solid 5... except. There is limited seating inside and out but it is what it is, it gets busy for a reason. Oh and the bathroom is in the kitchen, i don’t really mind, but i can see how it could look a bit tacky. But if you can look past that and enjoy the food, it’s a really nice place!
Amazing selection of fresh seafood. They got something for everyone fresh or fried. Very casual spot. We got oysters and cioppino. Kids got pasta and french-fries. All of the food was great. Prices are very friendly. Inside and outside seating.
The best fish tacos from here to Maui. Opt for the grilled option. Huge chunks of fresh quality grilled Cod, coleslaw and just the right amount of spice. Best value out there. Poke bowl is amazing, and if your really hungry the seafood pasta dish. We haven't had anything that wasn't amazing here. Love it.
Amazing food. 12 out of 10 stars 👍😎 Shrimp was delicious along with the best chowder I have found in years.
The combo seafood and chips not bad 5-6 shrimps 2 fish and decent amount of calamari. You get one fish piece in the fish taco but the taco is decent size comes with salsa. Salsa was ok. The taco comes with hot sauce and I think like a white sauce to really good with the lemon squeezed on top. Not to many beers to choose from just Firestone. It's local the brewery is in Paso Robles. The Firestone lager very light and almost citrus taste 3.5%. they also had mind haze good beer think it's in the 6-8% and of course 805. Pale ale. Really good fresh seafood and really fast service.
I've had the following and each was great: fish and chips, cioppino, poke, clam chowder in a bread bowl, grilled salmon salad (comes with the best garlic bread ever)
Fish tacos are amazing, and everything is very fresh and enticing.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. I go regularly for lunch and I’ve been here twice over the years just to celebrate my birthday. I recommend the fish market for all your seafood needs and the sushi I made with salmon and tuna from here was so fresh! The scallops are worth the price for cooking at home too! Favorite item on the menu: grilled salmon taco. I wish they’d sell me the sauce recipe! It has just a little kick
Counter-service style fish and chips spot with a full service fill department. I love that they mixed the sweet potato and regular fries. The place is small on the inside but there's plenty of outdoor seating.
My husband and I stayed in the area for a few months at the peak of Covid, when we found Pier 46. We fell in love with the ahi tuna tacos and ate them at least 1x per week, and since then no fish tacos have ever been able to live up to the ones from here. Every time we have eaten fish tacos for the last 4 years since leaving the area we look at each other and say “the ones from Pier 46 were better” Get the tacos — or don’t, because they may ruin every other version of fish taco for you for the rest of time
Pier 46: Come for the Fish, Stay for Trevor The fish ‘n’ chips? Crispy, golden perfection. The fries? Gone in seconds. But the real catch of the day? Trevor. This man isn’t just a server—he’s a seafood guru, a hospitality wizard, and possibly royalty. He made sure our food was hot, our drinks were full, and our experience was top-tier. Honestly, Pier 46 should consider renaming itself “Trevor’s Seafood Palace.” 5/5 stars. Would trust Trevor with our meal (and maybe our life) again.
Indoor/outdoor tables. Great service.
It's always a treat for us when we stop off in Templeton. Lunch wouldn't be lunch without fresh fish tacos or a Clam Chowder served in a Sourdough Bread bowl. Also, to the Wonderful Woman who treated my partners and I to $25 gift cards... Thank you! We appreciate you.
Food was amazing. I got the pasta special which I figured would have been a smaller plate because of the price but it must have had 25 clams on it. The serving size was huge, it could have easily fed two people. The service was also great. Everyone that worked there was so friendly.
Whether you're looking for a quick bite to eat or take something fresh home from the seafood counter, this place has you covered! An extensive list of options for classic seafood meals as well as specialty items. Perfect for grabbing a bite on the patio and enjoying a glass of wine! Even though the experience of eating their food there is great, the take-home seafood counter is what does it for me. I have never had Ora King salmon quite as amazing as what they offer. Scallops are the freshest I've ever taken home.
Great, quick seafood place. Plenty of options. Everything is great. They also have a large selection of fresh over the counter seafood
It had a wonderful day trip there. Set outside underneath the sun and had the most basic of meals. Which was fish and chips, but it was actually really good. Now. I will say this. The parking lot is very small, one way in one way out. And it is very congested, and that is probably my only complaint about the experience. You've got a fresh sushi market.A fresh chippini that you can get there.Local foods great hospitality.Great service.I would highly recommend it
Went in for sushi grade seafood, the ahi tuna, albacore and fresh salmon we got was amazing. Definitely would return. Didn't try the cooked food but their fresh seafood options were top notch!
We went here for my wife's 88th Birthday. This is her favorite place in the area. They were very accommodating to our larger group for the space, and the Staff was very kind. I had the shrimp and chips. It was great, and the live crabs in the tank were a hit with the kiddos.
Quality seafood, with a varied seafood market to cook at home. Well prepared meals to eat there, or to go. The staff is accommodating and pleasant. Dining indoors is not my cup of tea; but the kids at the next table made a sport of lobster-tank-watching. The outdoor patio is also dog friendly.
Nice little place, great food. We had fish and chips and the ahi tacos. Fish was tender on the inside, crispy on the outside, and not too greasy. The ahi tuna tacos were absolutely killer! A little expensive for lunch, but the portions are super generous and the food was great.
I could be at here everyday! Fresh food with incredible flavors, locally owner and polite staff. I can’t recommend this place more. My favorites are the ahi tacos, salmon salad and grilled shrimp tacos
Literally the best fish and chips in all of SLO county and has been for years! Although it's in North County/Paso this team does a killer job on this plate and my wife and her family consistently rave about the fish tacos. Her family always makes an effort to stop here on their way into SLO when they visit us. Prices are fair for the quality, portions are extremely generous in our experience, spot is clean, and the outdoor seating/beer list deserves a shout out. Love that they carry local craft beers on draft at very fair prices. Also a seafood market, parking can be difficult as it shares a lot with Trader Joe's. Nonetheless, worth the visit every time! Fish and Chips are seriously to die for compared to the rest of this county (Morro Bay and Five Cities included). Hope this continues to be a staple locally for years to come!
If you like fish, this is the place! Very tasty. Visited in the middle of the afternoon, in early December, rather quiet and nice. It's kinda weird that even though they serve beer and wine they don't have a restroom, which I thought was required. Oh well, you have been warned. Thankfully there is a Trader Joe's across the parking lot. Not cheap, but worth it. Fish and chips are recommended along with a $6 beer! Enjoy!
This was a great little counter order restaurant in Templeton. We stopped by, on vacation, and were impressed with the fish and chips... The amount of fries you get with one order of fish and chips was very generous, and they do a mix of sweet potatoes and regular potatoes. The fries were very crispy. My partner had grilled fish with her basket, and while it was cooked perfectly, it was a bit bland. The tartar sauce was the avenue of choice to remedy this. I had fried fish and it was yummy. Perfectly cooked. I always use malt vinegar with mine, and it was great. The staff were very friendly, and the food came quickly.
What a great place for seafood lovers. Fish is fresh and cooked perfectly. We had the Calamari Sandwich and the fish tacos. The sandwich was perfect and made me want to come back for another one. Tacos were large with generous portions of fish. We had one fried and one grilled. Both excellent. Counter service is casual and friendly. Outdoor seating. Highly recommend a stop here.
This was a great place. We were driving around Paso Robles trying to find a good place to eat and say great reviews for Seafood. We were surprised and the prices seemed reasonable so we decided to try it out. Its in a small shopping area and you first see a small outdoor eating section on the side which is nice. The outside of the restaurant makes it look like a nice fancy restaurant, but once you go inside its a small seafood market. They have tanks of lobsters and crabs and fish on ice behind glass. It was a great surprise. Inside they have a couple of tables for you to sit down and eat. We went around 2pm and there were quite a few people but our order was taken fast and the food was brought out quickly. The Shrimp and fries combo was great. You could taste that the shrimp was fresh. The fries were great but they were half and half with sweet potato fries, which I hate but doesn't mean they were bad. The clam chowder was amazing. Do not get the lobster roll. They mix in chopped salad and lemon into it and you can't even taste the lobster, and the bun is huge and thick. Other than the complete waste of a lobster roll the food was great, the staff was nice and service was great.
This place is great! Every time I'm in Paso, I love to go there and order the shrimp and chips, some clam chowder and some lemonade... it just makes your day better. The only problem is the parking lot. It is really small. They share it with Trader Joe's, Mr. Pickles and other stores, so it's really hard to find a parking spot, mostly at lunch time. Other than that, the store is great, great people and excellent food!
First time here and wanted to try a seafood place after our little outing at Three Bridges Trail. We enjoyed the clam Chowder in the toast d bread bowl, fish and chips, a glass of beer for the hubby and a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon for myself. We both enjoyed the food because it was cooked well and was still hot when we received it. We would come back. The parking area was busy but people came and went so we did not have to wait for long to get a parking spot.
Somewhere new in a new phase...not a big place so definitely will recommend as take out place. Fresh live lobster and fresh seafood 🦞 also for purchase. We will try again...I had the crab 🦀 cake salad and it was good but not on the fabulous scale, but I’m a hard sell on good crab. Oysters and ahi tuna tacos were very good according to the hubs.
Good selection of seafood. Cooked well. Fast service. Parking is a bit crazy next to Trader Joe’s.
They have ok food. The issue i have is most of their seafood is fresh frozen and that makes no sense when the ocean is a few yards away. Anyhow seems like a nice local place to hang out. I suggest getting the fish and chips.
If you’re searching for a nice combination of seafood market and restaurant in the Paso Robles Wine Country, Pier 46 Seafood is worthy of your consideration. Although some of their seafood may be imported, clearly some of it is also locally sourced. Their clam chowder may not compete directly with their cousins a few hours North of here in the San Fransisco Bay Area, but it sure will provide you with memories of what you can experience there (which is saying something about its quality). Their Gourmet Quesadilla was very flavorful, but the combination of sauces were dominant enough to make sharing this dish recommended. On the other hand, the fish portion of the Fish & Chips combo were so exemplary that they may want to consider breaking up the band and launching a solo career. Although we didn’t purchase any of the seafood market items, we were grateful for the wonderful aroma they added to the overall experience. And that’s…Henry’s Take. #pasoroblesseafood
Wow. Best fish and chips ever! I loved the batter, the fish was light and flakey. I had the chance to sample the clam chowder and it too was amazing. Thick and creamy with lots of clam. The combination sweet potato and whit potato fries made it a complete meal. If your inclined you can take fresh fish home To cook on your own. There are live tanks with lobster and crab. They will cook for you or take home. You gotta try this place!
Went with my family for the first time because of the great reviews. The ciopino was quite good although I had quite few clams that’s didn’t open so I threw those out. Seems like they should be able to filter those out better. The calamari sandwiches and the grilled halibut were also nice. The lobster roll however was a huge disappointment, the flavor wasn’t good and there was very little content for the $32 price. I was a little freaked out that it’s a seafood place though and the “live” lobsters and crabs in the tanks looked in terrible conditions. They were barely moving, with some of those crabs being clearly dead or close to it with a really sad gray color. There’s also no easily accessible bathrooms, you have to go through the kitchen which is kind of weird so probably better to plan for takeout in the future. There was a bit thing with the guy who took our order where he added and extra lobster roll and soda to our order, which we didn’t originally notice. He was super hard to understand so when we handed us a soda cup, we kept trying to give it back saying we didn’t order it but he couldn’t explain that he had already charged us for it. Later when our food arrived, they tried to give us an extra lobster roll and only upon looking at the receipt did we realize the issue. It took some discussion but eventually we got a refund. All in all, would go back for the ciopino and grilled fish but probably wouldn’t go out of my way for it.
After reading reviews, I came with high expectations. It was fine but not great. The grilled seafood plate was fine, good portions. The salmon was cooked nicely and the veggies were crisp but the plate could use something more. The rice was like Mexican rice and just ok. The poke bowl I would not get again due to it's price ($22) and presentation. The fish was good with a sesame flavor but it wasn't really a "poke bowl" being served in a two compartment to-go container and not a lot of veggies. it was more like fish and rice with a side salad. The fries were pretty good. The to go containers are a thing for me. I find them super wasteful and there didn't appear to be any recycling. When your meal prices are $20 and up the food should be serve with regular dishware and not plastic forks and to-go containers. For two people, food mentioned plus one glass of wine and tip, it was around $70. I live in the area and might try again. I would love to have the experience that everyone else seemed to have. I did like the patio.
I had high hopes for the food but our food was mediocre! I had the snapper sandwich and it was soaked with tarter sauce or mayonnaise and could not pick up the sandwich and ate the fish with a fork. My husband ordered ahi steak and it was overcooked even though we had asked for rare! The fries are amazingly delicious!
The morale of the story... read your own reviews before making the same mistake. It is kind of amazing that over years, my impression of their Salmon Soup with odds and ends....AKA Cioppino, has not changed all that much. Here is my newer impression.... "Pier 46 Seafood looked nice but the soup had way too much Salmon in it, thus it did not play well with my intestines. If I am going to have Cioppino, I like a nice diverse hefty assortment of all sorts of seafood, not mostly just fish. While there was the odd tiny shrimp, some tiny Scallops, and a few clams or mussels, it was more like an afterthought. The broth is tasty, but is monotone Tomato, without much complexity. I thought that it could use a more zesty tone...maybe a squeeze of lemon.... I understand that they want to keep costs down, but not at the expense of flavor, texture, and diversity. Yes, I know that diversity sort of has a bad name, but when it comes to seafood, it is a good concept. Since I was in the area, I shopped at TJs and wanted to eat. Pier 46 I guess is a decent choice for some in the area, but I really prefer Morro Bay. I may eat here again, but instead get a fried Combo plate with fries. Pier 46 is in Templeton, CA.... left on Vineyard exit, just off the 101. If one has a craving for seafood on the long stretch from North to South county, this is a decent choice...but I would keep it simple. I was here before some years back, and I did like the fried seafood Combo, and the fresh Oysters. This time I stayed inside and the service was fine. They are polite when taking an order at the counter, and they later bring you the nice hot metal dish of Fish Soup...and I also had a plate of minced shrimp on a Tostada...which was OK. Ambiance is basic, and is the same as its seafood market. I kind of fell for the soup again since someone else was eating it, and it looked good. Again, it is mostly all fatty Salmon...so if you love tons of Salmon then it may be fine for you.
The problem is the lack of consistency. Some days food is great, some just ain't. Last time we had Asian shrimp salad, big disappointment. The shrimp tasted funny like they washed it with some kind of detergent. The fried wonton chips were rancid. Those two parts totally ruined the whole dish. We ended up throwing it away...
Ordered a salmon plate and clam chowder bread bowl. The veggies on the plate (broccoli and cauliflower) were old with that grayish mold that forms on the edges of the cuts; not great. Food was good aside from that though, and the side of fries was massive and quality. While there is outdoor seating, there is also a huge number of wasps that LOOVE eating your food, even more than you do. You basically can't sit outside. Inside is fine though.
For counter service, the first option is 20%. For WHAT? They don't bring silverware or napkins and expect people to bust their own tables. In fact, I was told to get my own silverware. Plus, the counter people did not smile and didn't seem to appreciate the business or the opportunity to be of service. How much gall is that to expect 20% tip for doing nothing but make the food and collecting money. The clam strips were batter and clam juice. Not sure there were any clams. The gourmet quesadilla was cheese and very little seafood. In fact it was hard to find any seafood it. I am fed up with places like this that seem entitled and provide very little service or value.
Passing through the area after visiting friends, decided to try this place out after all the good reviews..BIG MISTAKE. Got the lobster roll. Probably the worst one I have ever tasted. The bread was good. But it was more like a glorified tuna sandwich..no lobster taste, barely had any lobster I could make out. HORRIBLE!. Burnt fries, the salad was good. Save your $22..
I ordered 4 hours and 45 minutes ahead of time. I came in 5 minutes after it was supposed to be ready, and they told me it was going to be 5-10 minutes more. I came it 15 minutes later, and they said my order was coming out next, then filled 3 orders ahead of me. It was finally 25 minutes late and not even a sorry or a free drink while I wait like good restaurants do. We ordered the combo and chips, kids' fish and chips, fried fish sandwich, and shrimp nachos. They were all soggy, greasy, and overpriced.
It smells super fishy when you walk in but it is a fish place. It's a good place if you find a dish you like, but when you explore the food, some are subpar. Good luck finding parking. Not many fish restaurants to choose from in the area so it is a popular joint. Tip option for them taking your order. What s slap to real waiter's.
My wife and I were happy with the mostly high 5 star reviews and thought we'd try them out. We had high hopes. We happily ordered and received a number and waited at a table that was straight across from the cash register. Our order was to go. We were waiting for just over 30 minutes when we noticed people receiving their orders after we ordered. We still patiently waited and thought maybe their orders were more simplistic. After a bit, we were getting impatient, so I asked the person at the register when our order was going to be ready. He didn't know, so he asked the person handing the finished order, and she said she had called my number a while back. She called our number in OUTSIDE seating area but not inside where we were. Inside, you can't hear what's said outside since the place was noisy. She was a bit snippy and annoyed. She wasn't apologetic at all. We thought, maybe she's having a bad day or been overworked, but still, that's no excuse to treat a paying customer that way. We shruded it off the best we could and was hopeful that the food made up for it. We took the order and, while leaving, had a bite to taste test. It was cold and concluded it was deep fried in old oil. We would've returned the order, but we were pressed for time. The order was not up to low standards and totally unsatisfactory. We thought we had a place to finally get some good grub and service but received neither. We won't be back to spend our hard earned money just to ruin our lunch. We never gave anyone a hard time since we were excited to try their food. It's also not in our nature to give anyone a hard time, but we feel that our story needs to be told. If you go, we wish you luck on your roll of the dice.
All customers were eating when we arrived so the 40 minute wait time for our 2 person order seemed extremely lengthy. When our food finally arrived it was overcooked and over salted. The only positive was the chowder. Not coming back, especially at those prices. DO NOT RECOMMEND
