If you miss Hawaiian food - this place is where to go! It is authentic and tastey! Way better than the franchise places. Extra special are the Hawaiian Sun drinks - the only place I have seen these availavle in DFW. Definitely worth it to eat here!!!!

This place is as good or better than many places in Hawaii. Way better than the "Hawaiian food" chains that are popping up. They even fly in and sell sell Hawaiian Sun drinks here! We had the kalbi, chicken terayiki, and kalua pork with mac salad, cabbage, and rice - all fantastic.

Had a great experience eating here today! The staff was super friendly and welcoming. Food was absolutely great- and that means a lot having moved here from Hawaii 16 years ago. Kalbi was flavored and cooked perfectly (sweet and savory with a nice char), katsu was crisp, and kalua pork was juicy and flavorful. Surprisingly, the rice was of GOOD QUALITY which other restaurants never seem to understand is very important. Mac salad was on point, too (a bit strong on the onion flavor, but not a deal breaker by any means). Highly recommend stopping by! Large, clean dining area and large portions of food! WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK SOON 😃

I live in Oklahoma and my dear sister in the Lord lives around d Dallas, whe spends money out of her pocket every week to feed those in need. She has been offered a break from local restaurants but the discounts were like $1 a plate. This Hawaiian delight helped her out with her ministry this past weekend with their benevolence she got to feed 10 xtra people . I can't wait to go and try them out!

Ordered the family meal for my wife and I; yes 3 entrees and 2 sides for 2 people which was recommended for 4 (we split it into 3 meals lol). Everything was very delicious and all the flavors blended together well. The bbq beef and bbq chicken were very juicy, tender, and well seasoned. The pork was juicy and went really well with teriyaki sauce. The Mac wasn’t overpowered with mayo and had a mild addictive flavor to it.

This place always serves up great food at reasonable prices. The service is fast and the staff is very friendly. I got the kalua pork and the fire chicken combo which came with steamed rice and a generous amount of salad. Everything was delicious and nothing was overly salty or sweet.

Been awhile since visiting TX, and surprised to find a Hawaiian cuisine restaurant. No didn't go for poi, nor loco moco. Got the Chk/Beef and Shrimp/Fish combos plus spring rolls. Definitely filling meals, plenty of food and fresh cooked, tasty. The spring rolls were average. Took a bit of a wait for food to be prepared so be aware. Would highly recommend giving a try.

Happened to be in the area and needed to drop something off at the UPS store. Saw this place and said to myself why not check it out asked the wife if she wanted to try it and we agreed. Safe to say this was by far the best food we have had in this style. These portions are Texas sized, no holding back and the customer service was great! I live near Mansfield and I wish they had this place down here would eat here often. They have many size options from family size to mini meals. The macaroni salad is actually enjoyable the rice is sticky as it should be the cabbage is steamed (which I like) and the chicken portion is perfect for a grown man who eats a lot. The appetizers were delicious and a large portion, Homemade sauce. They also sell Hawaiian drinks in a can. The POG juice was delicious

Aloha! Slam dunk! A#1! The best! I love this place, I wish they were closer. I had the chicken katsu and fried fish in a plate lunch, Mrs. Had the fried shrimp. Everything is good here.

We love Hawaiian plate lunch from Shaka. My husband and I always get the same things: Kalbee Short Ribs and Fried Fish & BBQ Chicken combo. They come out piping hot and fresh all the time. The meats are flavorful and moist all the time and I also like their macaroni salad. We would come more often if we lived closer but maybe it’s a good thing we don’t.. Highly recommend if you’re around The colony/Frisco area near 121 HWY. -update October 2023- We just returned from a 2 weeks trip to 3 Hawaiian Islands and it’s crazy how every time we ate a plate lunch at one of the popular joints in HI, we kept comparing them to Shaka’s and except for one place that serves Garlic Chicken (it’s amazinggg but Shaka doesnt have this on the menu), we actually preferred Shaka’s short ribs, mac salad and loco moco!!! Now that says a LOT. Shaka’s owners are I believe to be from Hawaii and they are serving some truly amazing food here for Dallas folks. We stopped by last night and of course our meal was delicious without any flaws. Keep supporting your local asian businesses!

Shaka was Great! Definitely one of the best dining experiences for Hawaiian food in DFW. They have a great selection and everything was well seasoned and tender. I had the Loco Moco and it was delicious. And my wife got the Shaka favorite Seafood mix. Everything was excellent. We will be back soon!

I had a very disappointing experience at this Hawaiian restaurant. The food tasted stale and honestly seemed spoiled — definitely not fresh or safe to eat. What made it worse was the owner’s attitude. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, they were rude and dismissive, which completely ruined the experience. This place does not reflect the warmth or hospitality Hawaiian food is known for. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Normally my go to chicken katsu spot but today is very disappointing. It’s clear that they took an old piece of chicken katsu and refried it. When I get this Togo it’s typically still piping hot when I get home since I’m less than 6 min away. Katsu was cold and it smelled and tasted like old grease. Very chewy on the ends. Mac salad is and will always be very good here but my wife and I are very hesitant to come back here. I typically see the owner in the drive through window but didn’t see him this time. I hope this is a one off event and not a reoccurring experience.
