My husband and daughter threw me a surprise party here. It was wonderful! Nice room, great food, and attentive service. My husband said that Colin, the manager, made planning easy, was reliable, and easy to contact. I highly recommend it for parties, and look forward to going back for a meal.

10 out of 5 stars (Yes, you read that right.. 5 stars isn't enough) We had our daughter's wedding shower (July 2024) and had the best experience. We met with Colin who made sure everything was taken care of and clearly communicated everything, and on the day, we were taken care of by Grace and Elaina, who made sure everything was perfect (great job btw). Shout-out to the chef, and even the bartender (who kept on making sure everything was right ). If I owned this place, I'd be very proud of my staff, because they really represented the establishment in a perfect way. Seriously.. the people who work here made it all worthwhile. Thank you all !! and thank you for making my daughter's Bridal Shower memorable .

We had another excellent dinner at CJ McLoone’s this week and we also dined there a month ago. I meant to write a review last month but finally got to it this time. When you first pull in the parking lot and it is almost full you suspect that the place will be packed inside. While they were very busy and most tables were taken we were seated right away and had a server come right over to get our drink order. I wanted to point out that Rachel our server was outstanding. We also had her the last time we were here and that night they were short staffed and she had to cover the whole back dining room which is a lot of tables. We were prepared to be patient but she hustled and was efficient and somehow got everything to us quickly with a smile. What differentiated her as a waitress was that instead of looking stressed and angry at the impossible workload, she was fun with a sense of humor and seemed to be enjoying herself. So nice to see someone enjoying their job which can be tough one when the restaurant is packed. The food was excellent both times and while we mostly had burgers and fries they were higher end beef and really tasty and the sweet potato fries were outstanding because they were piping hot. They really seem to know how to get the food out quickly here. I also thought the place was classy and was a good value based on the quality of the food and the pricing. We will definitely be back and this will become our go to place for a casual dinner.

I wish I could give more than five stars for the service. The managers and wait staff are all wonderful. We had a family dinner party for a 90th birthday with about forty guests. The managers were understanding and helpful and quick to answer all of my questions while we were planning. Every one of our servers the night of the party was so attentive and friendly. Having our family party at CJ McLoone’s was a perfect choice for us.

I wish I could go higher than 5 stars. Outstanding atmosphere, food, staff and overall experience. I had the Chicken vodka flatbread which was fantastic. My girlfriend loved her corn chowder. I can’t wait to go back!

Food and restaurant was amazing. I love the Buffalo Mac and cheese from this place. Always comes out great. Sometimes it takes a little long to get service after you sit and to refill drinks but it's never too much of an issue. I'd definitely recommend this place!

Dinner before show. Waiter, Tyree, was very helpful, considerate, and very aware that we had to leave early for a show. Party of 8 people, all orders accurately taken and well presented. Sadly, did not have time for dessert but will go back another time. Great atmosphere in restaurant section & had a sports bar section as well. Like I said, will be back when I can.

We’ve only had wonderful service and food here! Tonight we celebrated our Dad’s birthday. Alexis was the sweetest and friendliest server. The burgers were delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and comfortable. Mom enjoyed a cocktail from a menu of creative selections…Rosy Cheeks, I believe! This place is a can’t-go-wrong pick!

The cocktails we enjoyed the best were the Moro Margarita and the Gimme S'more(if you request crushed Graham crackers it will take your cocktail to another level) I had the Chimichurri Steak which was delicious. The steak was tender and chimichurri sauce gave an depth and flavor to the steak! Also, mixing the Pico de gallo and street corn with the steak made you think you were eating a dish straight from Mexico! My wife ordered the Blackened Chicken Penne Vodka. The chicken was seasoned well and the vodka sauce was delightfully thick and creamy. It didn't take long for my wife to eat the whole bowl! I also should mention that they gave you a good amount of food for the price. If you are from NewJersey. You know if the restaurant has the last name McLoones in it. You can always expect excellent quality, service, and a great experience! Definitely come to this place if you are in Tinton Falls!

We ordered the fish and chips and the fish was delicious! We subbed out mashed potatoes and sauteed mushrooms instead of the french fries. Beware that the tarter sauce is spicy! I suggest that they remove the spice from the tarter sauce. The fish and chips dish was not a taco entree and so the tarter sauce should have been a simple condiment. That is my only complaint. Otherwise we enjoyed our dinner.

Their burgers are amazing. Our server Skylar was the best! My wife and daughter are Gluten Free, and Skylar was very knowledgeable and helpful with what menu items were safe. Will definitely go back.

Food was very good. The decor is a very big change from its previous style, nicely done. Very clean and adhering to guidelines and distance protocol. They seem to be having the same issue of staff shortage, service seemed a little slow. Very pleasant waitress and quick to get to us to get our drink order, took awhile to get our food and to take our payment. Again feel it is due to short staff. They have a varied menu with some excellent choices. Would recommend as long as you aren't in a hurry. I will be going again soon the choices on the menu are really nice.

Had a catering from here that was beyond delicious! … but they don’t sell most of it on their actual menu which is really bizzare and honestly a pretty big pissed opportunity to gain new customers. As a longtime manager of restaurants I don’t really get who made that call lol Their eggplant rollatini is so good I would’ve been in all the time for it, it’s a shame.

New to the area. Ordered the crabcake sandwich and my husband had the blue cheese burger. Everything was delicious. The service was excellent.

We went here for a late lunch during the week. The service was very good, as was the food. The atmosphere was business casual, and there were several groups seated in the main room. Our food came a bit slowly but it was worth the wait. I had very good shrimp cocktail, although I wish I had had one more shrimp for the price, and chicken quesadilla that was very very good. We will definitely be back for a work day lunch!

Had a lunch date with my sister in law and came here to go somewhere different. So happy we did ...food was excellent and service too. Great menu with lots of options to choose from. Can't wait to return with my husband!

My friend and I went for a late lunch on Valentine's Day at CJ McCloone's and had the greatest time! Our server Andrew was charming, gracious, and extraordinarily attentive. It was a comfortable pub atmosphere with music playing at just the right volume so we could still have a conversation. The food we ordered was delicious, including a bowl of chili, fried zucchini, fish tacos, and a good old American burger cooked perfectly medium rare. We even saved room for dessert and were lucky enough to order the in-house made tiramisu and peach cobbler. We really enjoyed ourselves and look forward to another visit sometime soon. My husband and I came here on New Year’s Eve and it was extremely busy, but that did not take away from the service. The seasonal cocktail I had (some kind of pear margarita) was delicious and the food was pretty good, too. Our server, China, was so personable and attentive that I felt compelled to leave this review. I am gluten free and she made me feel very comfortable about not “getting glutened” here and double checked that the dinner special I wanted was something I was able to eat. We left talking about how much we enjoyed the service, which I feel is impressive for a very busy restaurant on a holiday

I had the best cheese burger 🍔 in years at PJ'S. It was perfectly cooked, tasty and juicy. The service was friendly and efficient. Our server was wonderful. I will return!

Great place to eat. Fast service, family friendly, large portion sizes and tasty food. Looking to come back to try more off the menu.

First time having dinner at CJ McLoone's, I ordered penne vodka with chicken it was delicious, I will be making a return 😋 atmosphere was a excellent give it a try you won't be disappointed

If you blink you will miss it. Great dinner spot. We wish there was a little. Ore variety on the menu but they had something for everyone. Everything we ordered was great and correctly made. The bad did a good job serving drinks and a reasonable pace. The staff was very friendly and d helpful. They did have some tvs on the normal dinning room for those that are interested. This is family friendly and comfortable for everyone.

CJ McCloones is a casual restaurant that has decent food and decent service. It’s on the smaller side and has a bar. It’s a solid choice for a weekday dinner out.

This Restaurant gets 4 Out of 5 Stars in My Opinion because of My Standard Complaint these days. The Food and Service were Excellent and Reasonablely Priced. The Size of the Portions were adequate but Not as Large as I prefer (Filling but No Left Overs). The Main reason for Only 4 Stars is that although the Main Dinning Room Atmosphere was Very Nice (Intimate) but there are Several Medium Size Television Screens in the Dining Room. Once Again, I am NOT a Sports Fan, I like an Intimate Atmosphere when I go to Dinner and Almost Every Restaurant these Days thinks that they need to be a "Sports Bar". I do recommend this Fine Establishment but with that one caveat.

Have been here several times. Consistently very good with great friendly services. The one time we had a bad night with some issues, (my daughters mac and cheese was cold, and I did not care for my salad) the wait staff immediately took care of it and management made sure I was happy and would return again. I felt a great sense of customer service. Have been there several times since and it is excellent. Great steaks and prime rib. My wife loves the crab cakes. My daughter likes the Betty Salad. The sun dried tomato spread for the bread on the table is unique and also delicious. I joined their VIP Dinner club and you get some perks including a coupon next time you dine. We were lucky and also won a $10 lottery coupon they applied to my VIP card the next time I went (they give these out periodically). Overall, I just like this place. Good food with much better than typical "bar and grill" options, good wine list, comfortable and friendly atmosphere for dining with family and friends, and very good service. Give this place a try.

We had a great experience at CJ McLoone’s! Made a reservation for 5pm on a Saturday and we’re seated quickly upon arrival. All of the food was great but the fan favorites were the Buffalo wings and the chicken pot pie(SO GOOD). Our server was excellent however she could’ve used a little more help on a busy Saturday night. Solid four stars for us and we’ll be back for that chicken pot pie soon!

Good menu, solid food, overall we were pretty pleased with this as a casual option. Turkey burger had a pleasant texture and was well thought out. Chicken parm was decent although I would probably go to one of the thousand Italian places nearby if that's what I was going to get. Service was good. Price was reasonable.

Went in for a drink and ordered a Yuengling. Bartender poured it nearly two inches short of the top. When I politely declined a refill, noting the tap seemed off, he offered me some Yuengling he had poured into a pitcher 20 minutes earlier. Not cool. Also, wish the staff wore name tags. It’s awkward trying to get someone’s attention with just “sir” or “ma’am.” That said, the food was actually really good. Just needs some polish on the service side.

Fish tacos are a good portion and price, the chicken tacos as well. Turkey burger was bland, but the avocado topping helped. The gluten free bun was surprisingly good. The calamari was nice and tender. The hot peppers are also coated and fried. Too bad the oil needed to changed, too dark. House wine by the glass is $12, too expensive. Wine by the bottle is a bit expensive, even the loyalty prices. The wine we bought stated Napa but it is from Washington. Service was great.

Staff was friendly. Cozy atmosphere. Scallops and rice was tasty. Very disappointed with the prime rib panini. So called prime rib seem to be steak umms between a panini roll. Instead of fries, they wanted to charge an extra 2 dollars for a vegetable. Lunch menu include a bowl of soup.

Super average. Prices are cheaper than elsewhere, but I'd pay a few more bucks for a better meal. Keep trying!

This place is okay. They're happy hours. Really not that great. They're hum mus was just tahini on a plate with no seasoning at all. No chickpeas. The oil was super burnt and when I got the calamari it was super greasy and super burnt and the oil just tasted really nasty. They're really sucking in that place. I will never pay for a membership

We’ve always liked this restaurant, and will try again BUT. this last visit we got two over done burgers. We ordered medium, but received well done burgers. Not juicy. Not satisfying. And, the “fresh handmade” chips were dry, all seasoning at bottom of serving dish, tasted like they were not fresh made. Very disappointing. BUT - The Betty Salad was scrumptious, the server very nice, and the atmosphere great. Hopefully out next visit will be better.

Dear CJ McLoone's Team, I recently visited your Red Bank/Shrewsbury location (10/19/2025) with my daughter for your Oktoberfest Menu and looked forward to trying the Wienerschnitzel. Unfortunately, the dish came out unbreaded, which was unexpected and quite disappointing--especially for a traditional menu item like that. I ate only half of one of the three cutlets before letting the server know I was disappointed, but my concern seemed to be disregarded. I was told the kitchen simply wasn't breading it that day. Crazy huh?!?!?! My server didn't offer a correction, substitute or adjustment, though he did ask if I wanted another glass of wine, which I accepted, assuming it might be a courtesy for the mix-up. However, no accommodation or credit was reflected on the final bill. The sides were fine and became my meal but overall, the handling of the situation felt inattentive and diminished the whole experience. Note: Upon my daughter finishing her meal the server removed my plate along with the 2-1/2 unbreaded wienerschnitzel cutlets. smh...... I gave you two stars as to the atmosphere, but the product and service was terrible. I tipped well as that's who I am but noted disappointed on receipt.

Attended dinner last night with my guest in which the waitress wasn’t attentive to our needs through the $150 dinner. Now to the food. For an appetizer we had the fried calamari. It was horrible being the oil needs to be charged after a certain amount of deep frying. The pork chop were dry and to be honest it escapes me how they can serve this food and service. With so many other choices in the area I’ll take my money some where else. Rated F-

Waiter was supposed to split bill in half for two couples. Ho gave one couple the correct bill of 50% and charged the other couple 100%. The manager, Catalina, said it would be fixed by midnight. 24 hours later, it is still not fixed. Catalina has no customer service skills.
