We have been ordering takeout from Osaka for several months, and really love this place: they provide consistently fresh and delicious sushi at an actually reasonable and affordable price point! Appreciate having quality sushi so close by.

I used to live in Tivoli about 12 years ago and I am happy to see my favorite restaurant is still alive. I still remember the miso soup as an antre was the best I have ever had worldwide. "The sky is blue"!

Got takeout every week during COVID. Now that they've been open for dining in, we continue to go every week or so. Food is always delicious, and consistent.

Very fresh sushi and sashimi, ramen is awesome, especially miso broth. The service is perfect. On Friday night the chef is really busy so if you are in a hurry your wait time may be a problem. In my mind, the food was worth the wait.

Mr. Liu and the entire staff at Osaka were very welcoming and kind to our whole family. The sushi was some of the best I’ve had in the Hudson Valley, New England, or West Coast. The restaurant has a very inviting layout with lots of great art and decor. We brought my 19 month old and she loved the gyoza. This spot will be one of our go tos for years to come.

Osaka Tivoli is my favorite sushi restaurant. The ingredients are consistently fresh, and the agedashi tofu is stellar (I've tried age tofu at many sushi restaurants in the Hudson Valley, but so far, none compare to the sauce/broth that Osaka has, truly delicious; if you're a vegetarian/vegan, just ask for no bonito). They offer plenty of vegetarian options as well. I highly recommend the tofu roll OR a kampyo and avocado roll. Marco, Sui and the rest of the staff (Michael, Una, et al.) are wonderfully kind. Thank you for providing tasty meals to me, my partner, and any friends I decide to bring. I'm truly grateful! 谢谢 ! :)

Osaka is my favorite restaurant in tivoli. It is so cozy to eat in and the sushi is delicious. Marco makes incredible rolls you can’t get anywhere else.

Our family moved upstate a few months ago from NYC ... We were looking for a local Japanese/Sushi restaurant had had been trying a few places and one day decided to try Osaka in Tivoli ... Let’s just say that once we found this beautiful little gem of a place, we stopped looking elsewhere. The fish was fresh, of the highest quality and expertly prepared ... They don’t have a huge list of specialty rolls, which is a good thing. Go with the individual pieces of sushi and/or sashimi ... you won’t be disappointed! We’ve been to Osaka several times since and in the brief time we’ve moved upstate, it’s become our “go to” place! Simply outstanding!

Delicious, delicate sushi and melt in your mouth rice noodles. I absolutely love Osaka. This place has cheap lunch specials if you’re on a budget or more extravagant dinner options. Such kind waitresses as well. As a vegetarian I found really solid options - I particularly recommend the tofu starter which has a nice broth and the sweet potato and tempura roll. Honestly though, you can't go wrong at this spot. My only suggestion would be to make a Japanese breakfast/brunch option with fried egg so I can come here for all my meals!

FYI lunch special a great less expensive option with a bit smaller portions.

Food ok They only have the pink pickled Ginger I like the white one which is without coloring. Ambiance ok Service slow Portions and size of sushi on the smaller size but quality ok.

The quality of the sushi is surprisingly good. The shrimp tempura appetizer (which is a mix of shrimp and veggies) was delicious and enough for 2 people. Service can be a bit lacking however, especially when the place fills up.

Surprisingly good Japanese food for a rural location. A little like a good neighborhood Japanese restaurant in Manhattan, not amazing but trustworthy. They clearly have regulars, always a good sign. Someone else mentioned kindness, and that is my impression too.

We got a few Cali-rolls that were ok. The rice was kinda dry.

Good food but don’t make a reservation at 7:30 because you will be rushed out since they close at 8:30. Very disappointing since we have been there multiple times.

I've eaten here before and the food is okay. But they're getting a mediocre review for me today because I literally got there 3 minutes after they stop seating, 45 minutes before they close, and they refused to sit a single person for a sushi roll. It was so rigid and lame. They lost my love.

Poor customer service! Although there was a 4 top table available they asked us to wait for them to clear a 2 top table right next to it. The server removed one dish then moved on to help other tables. Another server noticing how long we were waiting came and apologized, quickly cleared the table and said she would grab a cloth to wipe the table then we would be seated. Another set of customers came in and asked to be seated, they were given our table and we were asked to sit in another table they created in the back corner of the restaurant, we left it was ridiculous to give away our table, if they had cleared it when we first arrived we would have been seated before the other patrons arrived. Guess they take care of their 'usuals'...

Well I have not been here in years! Did not see the familiar faces of the owners or their kids. New generation in there now. This is where Japanese sushi was first introduced to me. You use to get a nice warm steamed wash cloth before eating and a nicely cubed orange at the end. Not anymore! The calamari tempura was gross. The sushi does not have that wow factor anymore. I use to boast about this place. Sadly I will not return. This place use to be so much better but now there is way better Japanese sushi places around to find over Osaka. My stomach still feels woozy after eating it hrs later

Was there with a group of friends. The two teenage waitresses barely hid their hostility. I kinda wish we'd have been kicked out over enduring the passive aggressive atmosphere. I had some rolls labeled spicy but those rolls had never seen a flavor. I guess that's on me for having an expectation/believing the other reviewers.

Went there last night with my wife and 2 month old. Google has their hours as open until 8:30 and we arrived at 8:10. When we walked through the door we were greeted with "Sorry the kitchen is closed" I told the host that their hours on Google read 8:30 and we received the same response. I asked if we could get food to go and we were told the Kitchen closes at 8:15 for take out. I responded that it was 8:10 and then she went back to the same "kitchen is closed" response. There is a very simple resolution to this-if you are going to stop serving at 8 or 8:10 just change your hours online. Don't have people come in and disappoint them. We ended up going to Petit Bistro in Rhinebeck(arrived at 8:40 and they close at 9)and they could not have been more welcoming.

We were looking forward to trying this for a birthday dinner. Their website, Google Maps, and the sign on the building all indicate that they're open on Mondays, but they were closed when we arrived at 6:30. No explanation was posted on site, on their website, or on Facebook. I'll be happy to re-evaluate my rating if I ever decide to take a chance on their advertised hours again.
