First time here on first night in Playa after scoping out this place online prior. Lives up to the expectations and more. Will be back!

Owner opened up early so we could watch Arsenal Liverpool game. Top man, so friendly and great food and drink. 👏 👏 👏

We went for a couple of drinks and to watch the boxing whist we were on holiday. We messaged beforehand to book a table, we had a quick response from the owner confirming our booking. On arrival even though the bar was busy we had a friendly greeting from the owner who introduced himself, his name is Heath and he’s from Australia he made us feel really welcomed. The bar staff Franco and Joanna were friendly and professional the service was amazing.

We went for the Sunday booze brunch with is supposedly for 90 minutes but they kept serving us drinks a lot longer. Servers are friendly and fun. The owner came with kinder eggs because it was Easter. We all had a fantastic time there. Definitely again. Love it!

Love this place - outstanding food and service. I'm sorry I don't have a photo to add of our meal - it was gone before I could slow down for a picture! My favorite is the fish and chips, and we also had the veggie lasagna (really good) and bangers and mash. In the past, we've loved the raw oysters (when he has them) and the wings are to die for. So lucky to have this place near our condo!

Great Sports Bar in Playa. I went with a friend to watch a Liverpool FC (LFC) game, the staff and the owner were extremely friendly. There are lots of TVs with great watching angles. They play almost all sports EPL, NFL, NBA, NHL etc. Highly Recommended

My wife and I live in playa for winters and we are thrilled to have discovered this ship. We had a wonderful server and service was simply fantastic. We ordered the Caesar salad , fish and chips , and chicken sandwich. The salad was fresh and crispy. The fish and chips was just perfect along with what tasted like hand crafted tartar sauce. The chicken was moist and fried to perfection. Decor , over head fans, thick napkins , quality cutlery and what we think may have been the owner checking on his guests as a true admiral added to the wonderful experience. We are excited to return and sail here again soon.

I meant to take a photo of the gorgeous plate, but once I had a bite I couldn't stop eating. The food was excellent! We had the eggs Florentine and fish and chips, and both blew us away. Heath is a delightful owner and made sure everyone was happy. So glad to see this place open again after the pandemic.

Best burger in town! I have been all over playa to search for the best burger and this is it! We go here frequently and we love everything so far…very tasty comfort food. The lasagna, the burger and the Sunday roast beef special is just scrumptious…like mama’s home cooking. Franco the waiter attended us with a warm smile and fast service. Wow! If the famous 80’s TV show “Cheers” and a cozy little sports bar had a “Love Child” it would be called the Admiral! Craving a little taste of home? This quaint little bar/restaurant brings the heat. We had the hamburgers plus the fish and chips. Both were outstanding! Highly recommend.

Love this local spot! Amazing food, wonderful staff and some of the best cocktails in town. Also dessert ! Fall/winter hint- If you want to make everyone happy during football season this is the place. (Good food and bottomless mimosas))

Perfectly crispy and amazing wings. Fish and chips adorned with a freshly made dipping sauce. Breading was light and not heavy at all, really showcasing the white flaky fish. I will definitely be back.

Today I tried the burger at The Admiral and wow. It's the best burger I've had anywhere in Mexico and even better than most places in the U.S. Great place to watch live sports too as they have multiple TVs. Will definitely be going there again a lot.

Great vibe in this place. Nice to see the friendly James behind the bar. I had the pasta and my friend has the wings, both of which were very tasty. The plane has a really nice feel about it. Good music but importantly not so loud you can't have an easy conversation.

We went to the Admiral to watch the Champions League final and had a blast! Great atmosphere, tv’s in all locations so that you don’t miss the action, excellent staff, drinks, great food, service, and atmosphere. The owner was in attendance at the time and was an excellent host. I’d recommend it for catching your favorite team or when you’re looking for some great fish and chips!

Great atmosphere! Awesome food and service. There has been a recent extension and the place looks great. Loads of space for large groups. Had the best time! We spent a couple hours there playing pool, drinking, and eating. All the food was delicious. The fish and chips were to die for and the meatball sub was amazing. I had never been and I really enjoyed everything about The Admiral. The fish and chips were amazing. They often have specials, in fact when we visited they had numerous specials, all of them were so good. We had fish and chips, prawns, a fried chicken burger, spaghetti & meatballs and oysters. The staff were very welcoming and we had so much fun! We’ll be back soon!

What a treat and joy the Admiral is! It is a pivotal spot in PDC and Playacar that features sport games as well as traditional Sunday Roast. The food is fantastic! I've been there a dozen times and it is always spot-on. The atmosphere is warm inviting and traditional. Try the grandma special (lasagna). The owner, Heath, is always a pleasant character to bump into, and his staff is knowledgeable and hospitable. We are looking forward to getting back to playa and straight to the Admiral. Keep it up keep it real!

The Admiral is a fantastic sports bar with great food, strong drinks, and tons of TVs for watching the games. I even had an amazing Thanksgiving dinner here with all the classic trimmings—everything was delicious. Awesome atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly recommend!

This place was recommended by friends. Happened to be Sunday when we went. Enjoyed a “Boozy Brunch” of greyhounds and fish and chips. The fish melted in our mouths like butter. Thank you to Heathe and his amazing staff for the stories, free of charge Sass and great jazzy atmosphere!

5 Stars across the board. We went as a party of 6. We had a reservation and were seated right away. The service is top level with attentive waitstaff who are well trained. The food, all six entrees were different and all six were excellent. Everyone enjoyed their food and we will all return frequently.

We absolutely love this place, the food is outstanding, proper quality and fair pricing. Very friendly and polite staff, the owner is what makes it over the top, Heath is such a friendly guy, 10/10, we are now regulars. Update: we have been for the Sunday night dinner and it’s a game changer. We had the lamb roast (chicken is also a option) with delightfully fluffy Yorkshire puddings, gravy, peas, carrots and potatoes. This dinner will give your family Sunday dinners a run for their money.

Great Friday afternoon at The Admiral watching US Open tennis semis. The chicken sandwich/burger was so good, plus fantastic service--all at the perfect local, friendly spot for watching a game and shooting a little stick!

We were at The Admiral pub for the first game of the 2025 World Series between the Blue Jays and the LA Dodgers ⚾️🧢. We ordered a plate of wings that was very generous and the wings were actually large and juicy and very tasty. It is difficult to find good wings in Playa Del Carmen and these were wonderful. We also ordered one of the specials of the day, which was a half chicken barbecued on a spit with delicious coleslaw and mac & cheese balls that were the size of a cue balls. The chicken was tender and delicious, and the rest of the meal was inventive and novel. We love going to the Admiral pub for a great meal and to watch sporting events because the venue is large, comfortable, with nice decor and has lots of great television screens. They also have a pool table and dart 🎯 boards 🤩 Service is always excellent and the owner Heath is a gem.

The owner here will make sure you enjoy your time here at The Admiral. 🌟 that’s more important than anything because most restaurants will see you as a number instead of future business. 💯 Food is served in large portions, server is attentive, prices are great, many TVs for all the sports games, indoor, and outdoor seating. I highly recommend the bacon wrapped wings, and the fish and chips as it is hard to find here in Playa Del Carmen. I will absolutely returns a couple times a month just to try all the food menu items on the menu as they look very appetizing. If you want the absolute best customer service for a sports bar I’ve ever seen, The Admiral is where you need to go. 🏆

Wings and Beer, do i need to say more!? Jaja I also had the special on a Sunday , was a very good deal and great tasting food, it was some kind of mushroom soup veeryyy goood and a salad and the Picaña(meat) with vegetables was soo goood ooo and it also came with a beer !! From start to finish, everything was spot-on classic, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. Heath, our chef for the meal, knocked it out of the park. The turkey was perfectly roasted—moist, flavorful, and carved just right. The stuffing was the kind you dream about all year: savory, comforting, and full of traditional herbs. The mashed potatoes were creamy perfection, topped with rich, velvety gravy. We also enjoyed crisp green beans, sweet-and-buttery corn, and a fantastic cranberry relish that brightened the whole plate. And I can’t forget the dessert—classic pumpkin pie with a perfectly spiced filling and a flaky crust that tasted homemade. Bossco, our bartender, was awesome as usual. Friendly, attentive, and on top of every detail. His seasonal cocktails and perfectly mixed classics added an extra touch of festivity, and his warm personality made the experience even better. If you’re looking for a place that honors the traditions of a Thanksgiving meal while delivering top-quality food and service, The Admiral is it. I couldn’t recommend it more highly—already excited to go back!

Our second time here for the boozy branch, and the food was amazing. The service was excellent. First time we sat just inside the door, second time we sat in the courtyard - same server absolutely fabulous big praise to his attention and delivery. He is super kind and attentive and I wish I knew his name.

Pub grub which was very tasty, both had clean plates. Staff are friendly, was quiet when we went. Toilets clean, pool table is a nice addition. Inside and outside places to sit, lots of TV for the sports lovers. Everything was just good at reasonable prices. Would happily go again...... probably for the Sunday Brunch 😏😉

In playa for 10 days and the family has been here multiple times and raved about it. Tonight was my first time and it did not disappoint! Great location, awesome atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff. I ordered bangers and mash, my partner and her mother ordered fish and chips, and her aunt and dad ordered chicken wings. Everyone loved and finished their entire meal! Even ordered some fresh oysters afterwards. Myself and the aunt had margaritas and they were some of the best I’ve had. The prices reflect the quality, not too expensive but not cheap. Very reasonable. I will 100% return back before we leave playa!

If you break down and need some great burgers and other American cuisine, this is the place to come. Af several weeks here I was dieing for a good burger. The one I had was as good as any, if not better than I've had in the states

Brilliant place!! Absolutely love it!! Heath the owner was there and made sure we were ok all the way through our time there. Me and my partner have been looking for a place just like this for years here in playa, so we were so excited to visit. The food was SO SO SO GOOD, big portions and super fresh and tasty. I had the fish and chips and my partner had the bangers and mash. From the start to the finish it was an exception experience and we can’t wait to go back. We finished every inch that was on the plate, can’t wait to go back! Thank you Heath and team for a great experience all round!!

Fantastic Experience! We had a wonderful time at The Admiral! The food was delicious with generous portions, and the drinks were excellent. The staff was incredibly friendly, making our visit even more enjoyable. Vegetarian options as well :)

Food was delicious. We ordered the classic fish and chips. Very well made, nice and crispy. The oysters Rockefeller was really good too. Just could have been cooked a little bit longer I think but we’ll ask for that next time. And the Greek salad would have been great but there was too much dressing. We’ll ask for the dressing on the side next time. Nice place but they’re expanding right now so there’s a little construction noise. Should be all finished when I come back in October. 🥰

An outstanding meal at The Admiral Sports Bar tonight. We were truly impressed. Everything was absolutely perfect. Calamari, fish and chips and wings were honestly some of the best I’ve ever had anywhere. And the attention to detail. Not only were the wings cooked to perfection, but the seasoning was perfect and the house made ranch was outstanding. The fish batter was crispy and doughy, the fish was flaky, and the tartar sauce was superb. This is definitely our new go to spot. Excellent service as well.

This was quite a hike from where we stayed at El Taj but we wanted to try it due to numerous positive reviews. Margarita & sangria to drink & they were fine. Hubby had fish & chips; fish was strong tasting; fries were good-hand cut! I had chicken schnitzel with mashed, gravy & apple bacon sauerkraut, which was tasty-meat would have been dry without the sides. Portions were good. One small thing, menu advertised 25% off for cash & while we did receive a discount it wasn't 25%, closer to 20. Given all the great reviews we weren't entirely satisfied, perhaps even slightly disappointed. Still, we'd go again if we stayed closer as it was familiar comfort food with reasonable service.

This is a very good bar, an oasis away from the taco city. Unfortunately no brat, so had meatballs instead. Not the best. Drinks are very nice and a reasonable price. The lack of 5 stars is one of my favourite gripes. 25% off if you pay cash. It's clearly stated on the menu there and online.......only for food apparently. These are the sneaky cons I despise. Say FOOD ONLY FFS. Had a reply to this review and frankly I don't give a sausage about a free brat, and it was my wife who had the meatballs not me. She never complains about anything, being British. None of that matters what matters is the deceiving nature of 25% off cash. No it does not state food only, See your menu. I think you're very clever regarding this as, like me, people will pay in cash not card thinking it's all 25%. Nice move. Cash rules. As for me being the only one to notice I'm probably the only one to bother to pick up on it. Finally even when I paid cash I was billed for 100% of drinks and food. In summary, it's 25% off only food and only if you're clever enough to notice and have to dispute about it. Following the kind offer of a full refund, thank you, but that's not what I'm about. As I said in the review it's a very good bar and the gripe can easily be fixed for future guests. As for the service error I don't blame yourself and the longer I stay in this area the more it's actually normal for these 'errors' to occur. All the best for your excellent bar and business.

We went for lunch after reading so many glowing reviews of the food. The place has a very relaxed atmosphere, which we enjoyed. I had some wings, which were very good. My wife had fish and chips, which were not very good. The fish had an odd texture, kind of mushy. In a town where you expect to get good fish, it was a disappointment. We also thought the beer selection was poor, somewhat limited for a bar.

This place has many aspects of a great sports bar; lots of screens for its size, really great waiting staff, and great range of sports to watch. I think I would give this 5 stars but I felt that the atmosphere was ruined, and I was made to feel uncomfortable, by who I think must have the been the owner or shift manager threatening to take away the tips of his waiting staff, and berating them loudly for failing to put something in the correct places. As a customer this made me feel really uncomfortable, and was a real shame - without this I would have had a great experience, and I think that this kind of interaction should never happen at all, much less in front of customers.

The bar/ restaurant needs a face-lift. It needs a good deep cleaning. (Especially the bathroom) not our first time here. Is it supposed to be a ship? Feels like a dungeon. Service was awesome 👌 I had fish/chips and it was yucky. The batter was crispy, but when you cut into it, water/grease came flowing out,fish was soggy with absolutely no flavor. No more Admiral for us 😕

In 2024, we visited here often. The menu was very full with tons of choices. The drink menu waa also exceptional. 2025 was a different story. There is no drink menu, and the food menu is very small. We've tried to go there three times recently, and each time they didnt have the menu items we chose. I settled on prawns one night, but soon after arriving to the table, they proved to be small, gritty shrimp, not prawns at all. The service is still good, but the food needs remodeled now. There probably wont be a fourth time.
