Food Order: Spaghetti Carbonara (bacon, cream sauce) $20.80 Fried Lotus Roots Chips Consommé Flavor $7.00 Server: Namiya Bistro Beaux (its name comes from the idea of stylish or beautiful bistro) is located in the Eastgate Plaza, & I frequent the bakery & a couple of restaurants here, but rarely head to the north side so I'm unaware of their presence. This truly is a "hidden" gem... Bistro Beaux has been around for 25+ years. Their cuisine is a Japanese-Italian fusion of creative pasta dishes... can Bistro Beaux dethrone our family fav: SHB&R in Gardena? Read on... Warmly greeted at check-in & marked from the guest list, I was guided to the bar since I'm a single diner. I already perused the menu & knew what I wanted; there was a today's "special" menu & 2 things caught my eye: Fried Lotus Roots Chips Consommé Flavor, & Scallop & Mushroom Spicy Pollack Roe Cream Linguine; I ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara instead because I wanted to try their mainstay pasta. My appetizer came first & quick! And OMG... this stuff is crack... soooooo a-d-d-i-c-t-i-n-g!!! The lotus roots were perfectly fried (crispy like chips) & seasoned/marinated with consommé -- intense, rich essence of beef. I can eat bowls & bowls of this!! This needs to be on their permanent menu. Sadly, all good things come to an end. Just minutes later, my pasta was served. It took some time, which Namiya apologized for, but the wait time seemed normal/appropriate given the number of guests there were; I arrived just after opening & they were about 1/4 full. The dining room has 11 tables & bar seating, with a 49-person max capacity. The pasta smelled heavenly! The eggs were perfectly cooked so the noods were creamy & rich in flavor, topped with fresh pepper & parm. Bistro Beaux uses bacon instead of guanciale, which I feel makes a more authentic carbonara. Guanciale's (pig jowl) cut of meat has a higher fat content, making the taste richer, more unctuous with a tender texture when rendered. Even with bacon, it was still a delish plate of pasta, with the perfect amount of bacon in every bite! What could have been better is rendering the bacon more to give some texture. Dethroned? Not quite, SHB&R still stands. Bistro Beaux has its Japanese-Italian fusion merits, & I would love to bring my family & friends to slurp their creative & comforting noods. Definitely will be back for those crunchy lotus roots! Delizioso dinner... おいしいです (oishii desu)!! Recommended: Spaghetti Carbonara, Fried Lotus Roots Chips Consommé Flavor.
Bistro Beaux is a spot in my neighborhood - they are located across from Daiso and Frostbites in the plaza by the Miyako Hotel. On a Saturday evening - 45 minute wait. Once seated, service was quick and pretty smooth. Got the lemon sour, fried mochi with prosciutto (this was delicious, and probably good to share…I ate all of it lol), and for my pasta, the spaghetti peperoncino with shrimp and shiso. It was light and flavorful. I could taste the shiso, and the shrimp was cooked well - not rubbery. I will definitely come back. Great Japanese Italian option in Central Torrance.
I love this restaurant so much I don’t even live in Torrance, but drove from Hollywood for 45 mins to eat here 2 weeks in a row!Their veggie sticks is a must try! It comes with this pink yummy sauce which I believe fish egg in it. Since my friend took me there 2 years ago, I tried many different items, but pretty much everything’s so tasty! I love their spaghetti too. So far I tried Sea urchin, Squid ink and tonight carbonara sauce which was pretty big portion for me. The employee and the customers are pretty much all Japanese people and that’s kind of pretty odd to me, but then I speak Japanese like everyone else so it’s cool I guess. They open late so it’s very convenient for late night dining.
While visiting Los Angeles on vacation, I stumbled upon this delightful Japanese Italian fusion restaurant. I feel so lucky to have made this unexpected discovery. I was unaware that there is an entire history of Japanese Italian fusion. What.a fascinating mix! I love it, and I enjoyed everything about this restaurant. Even the simplest dishes, such as pickled celery, came to life with awesome flavor. The seafood was super fresh. I plan to return for the pasta. I had the most amazing desert, mango pudding,(one of their specials of the evening). The service was extremely polite and efficient. I valued the friendliness and patience of the server, who was super helpful in explaining the unique aspects of this fusion menu to me. I love this restaurant!
The chef’s creativity shines through, everything was so good. I’d consider this place a true fusion restaurant. You can call to make a reservation, there’s an outdoor patio with ample heat lamps. It’s better to come here when you’re not in a rush, the service is a bit slower, though attentive , so I’d allow 1.5-2 hrs for dinner. The clams in sake were cooked perfectly, the sake ‘broth’ was really good, lots of green onion. The mochi and spicy cod roe naan was amazing, I loved it. I had the crab butter pasta, which was excellent. My daughter had the ramen carbonara and this dish was so good, so creative, and well done, with prosciutto and a soft boiled egg. Husband had the creamy chicken ramen which was good, an interesting flavor similar to a creamy cioppino. the desserts were also great, esp the Catarana, which was described as a frozen creme brûlée, and I loved it. We also had the homemade rum raisin ice cream and the hoji cha ice cream. The hoji tea flavor was really good. I think the rum raisin one had too many raisins, but still good. We drove 40 minutes to check this place out and we can’t wait to come back.
We recently visited Beaux. Our first acquaintance with this restaurant was almost 25 years ago. I am not sure if there had been any changes in its management, but food felt consistent and familiar from a long while back. I enjoyed my visit here, even during Covid in a tent, sitting in a parking lot. Thank you!
This bistro represents Tokyo in so many ways. If you have a minute Japan this is a portal and insight into the food culture, quality and creativity! In my opinion there whiskey selection of fun Japanese molds and second to none.
Just went in for dessert 🎂 🍨🍧🍦 and it was delicious ^^ my friend got a coffee jelly and it looked very fancy.

Best place for Japanese whiskey and sautéed uni with mushrooms! The owner is wonderful and welcoming and the vibe is unique. Love the food, atmosphere, and most definitely the yamazaki whiskey sampler! It's a must try!
Great Japanese bistro. Nice whisky selection, a nice variety of smaller plates, including uni scrambled eggs. It's clean, modern, and even though it's Japanese western style instead of the more Japanese traditional izakaya style, it's a wonderful alternative to the rushed and gimmicky and really hit or miss quality of some of the other Japanese izakaya style restaurants in that same mall. Limited seating, and it fills up quickly.
Ordered vongole and peperoncino pasta. Both are cooked very well. Pasta is dente and the sauces are very flavorful. This is not the creamy pasta served at American restaurants. It’s Japanese, or very close to the the pastas I ate in Italy.
This place is truly awesome. The drink selection is extensive and every single item ordered was top notch (octopus balls, squid pasta, crab pasta, prosciutto pizza, etc.). Highly recommend this place.
Bro this place was so good oh my goodness the crab butter pasta was so creamy and so savory, the atmosphere and the interior is just beautiful and the waitress was really nice but the dessert here was so good it got my jaw on the floor i have never tasted anything like this before and i was in so much shock in a good way 11/10

The Baseline: For Japanese restaurant the offerings must have the base ingredients of rice, noodles, fish, chicken, salads (aemono), and garnishes (nori/aenori), preparations must be treated well, and the environment must be welcoming. Food: The offerings here are mainly Japanese but this is really a fusion of Italian dishes with Japanese flair. The appetizer dishes we had were the fried chicken which was a chicken Karaage that was well seasoned with a good dipping sauce and the eggplant and meat sauce gratin which had too many bulky pieces of eggplant which made it slightly a difficult eating situation. The flavors for both dishes were good though. The seafood dip and chips had a good wasabi flavor for the dipping sauce but the tortilla chips dealt out of place for the theme making me at least wanting Italian bread pieces instead. For Entree dishes, we had the Spaghetti Vongole Japanese style, Spaghetti Carbonara, and Spaghetti Sea Urchin. The Vongole had some smaller sized clams with a mix of nori and buttery sauce which was an okay dish and I understand the intent of the dish but in essence it made me want a traditional white wine sauce with traditional Italian flavors for the clams. The Carbonara was really good and it hit the marks of a good carbonara with a good cream sauce and bacon. The Uni was also a good attempt at fusion but I am not the biggest Uni fan but the spaghetti was a bit oily in the dish. The other notable food item was the fried potatoes side dish which was pretty good but in essence it was fried potatoes side dish. Service: Good service but I ended up having multiple servers which was a bit confusing. I ended up having a full water glass and my needs were taken of during the visit. Ambiance: It was a nice bar/restaurant that uses an industrial theme for the inside. I was not a fan of the chain link fencing but I did like the distressed steel plating on the walls. The bathroom was clean and serviced.
While I was here for a Yelp event with some friends, we were able to try some of the other things they had on their menu. We ordered the black pepper chicken, some sort of seafood dip with tortilla chips, the carbonara and then some mochi pizza. It did take a while for the food to come out but honestly, we were not too mad about it. Would rather wait for the food to come out tasting good than it coming out half-assed and tasting meh. The chicken was brought out first and this was honestly the best dish out of everything. It was crispy and breaded to perfection and the sauce it came with was the cherry on top. The seafood dip was alright, the dip was definitely overpowered by the taste of wasabi. The carbonara was good, not as heavy as the crab butter pasta I had and came in a fair portion. The pizza was definitely not the best. It tasted very strange, but I think it was because of what came on it, like mochi and seaweed. It sounded interesting and it was but I did not like it personally. Other than that, everything else was pretty good. The service was good, the waitress we had was very cordial with us and asked us how we liked each plate after she brought it out. The interior was also real cozy. It was not a very big space, though it looks like it from the outside.

Came here for my dad's birthday. I'd describe it as a Japanese Italian fusion. Inside was a little dark and rustic. Service was quick. Our waitress was very informative in helping us order. Here's my breakdown of the food: Squid ink spaghetti: good flavor, a little salty. Makes your mouth black. Crab butter spaghetti: tastes like what its called. Very good. Clam spaghetti: good, but tastes better with the crab butter sauce. Beef filet mignon with garlic soy sauce: delicious! Meat was cooked perfectly. Easy to bite. The sauce was a great compliment. Seafood risotto: good to share as an appetizer.

I signed up for an elite event and was really excited to try this place out and to my surprise it's a spot I've tried out many years ago. This restaurant have been here for a long minute and I've totally forgot about it. It's inside a huge shopping center so there's ample amount of parking. First impression: you walk into a metal gate with covid warning sign. It brought back a lot of bad memories and Was wondering why this is still up. Did you not get the memo? (See pic) and then I proceeded to wait 24 minutes for the server to get us a table when the place was more then 2/3 empty with reservation signs on all the empty tables. I thought I was suppose to call for reservation but remembered another elite's review saying they walked right in and got seated right away. Apparently that's not the case for me. Am not sure if they're short staffed on a Saturday night as I only see a couple of servers working. Also the empty reserved tables never filled up while I was there. Finally got seated and ordered the creamy crab pasta, calamari, and seafood chips. I asked the waitress to help me chose between fried oyster, fried chicken and seafood chips and her reply was they're all very different and I can't compare them for you. But out of curiosity I got the seafood chips and am glad because it was the bomb dot com. The calamari was a fail for me as the batter taste like onion ring batter and I was expecting something lighter and better for a Japanese establishment. Honestly for the price and portion I had high expectation. The creamy crab pasta was good. The noodles could be a bit harder but no complaints. I don't remember how much crab was in the cream sauce as it felt underwhelming. Overall: the long wait for no reason and the unwelcoming vibe is definitely a deterrent for my return. They kept refilling our water and that's about all I can say for the service. While I was conversing, they cleared up the table and brought the check. I felt like they were kicking us out despite the place being empty. Also they have jazz radio on. Yes radio with all the commercials. *smh

Service was very slow since the moment we walked in. From getting someone’s attention to be seated, to putting in our orders and the speed of food served. I got a glass of Toki whiskey on the rocks. Not only it already tasted washed out when it got to the table but also appeared to be a quite small pour ~ I’m not convinced there’s even a shot in it. We ordered 3 appetizers and 2 entrees. The appetizer came out 1 by 1 with about 10 minutes space in between. The entrees took another 20 minutes to come after we finished the last appetizer. Food was okay. Severs are nice but I think they are understaffed and they are spread really thin.

First of all, I just want to remind this business owner that tipping is a CHOICE and not a requirement. It was extremely unprofessional for the "boss" to ask why I did not leave a tip. You brought my food out and that was it nothing more nothing less. I would recommend somewhere else where they wont stiff arm you for a tip. The food is average as well. Lots of other options within 5 miles where they are more professional.
We visited Friday evening with my friend. Food, drink are good however we are very disappointed with one of the hall staff lady. She kept telling us going away even though there are many open tables. The worst was that our bill was about $58 and gave her $80 with expecting getting change. However she took all the money by herself and never came back. We claimed it and she look reluctantly gave us back the change. Atmosphere was very good so very disappointed with the lady
