I’m a big fan of Islands because they make turkey burgers, and the turkey is actually tasty. My last meal, pre-lockdown, was at Islands here in Torrance. Usually, this location is not my favorite Islands- I prefer the one in Manhattan Beach- but this one runs pretty close. The wait staff is almost always friendly, and the food is quick and tasty. On our last family trip, we started with nachos. The first round came out kind of burnt, with the cheese clumped in the middle. Our waitress was great, exchanged them, and brought out some nachos that were definitely tasty. I always ask for extra jalapeños- because who doesn’t love a little spice? Between the group, we got chicken tacos, a Greek salad, a cheeseburger and a sundae. A little hack- did you know you could sub out the beans with the tacos for refillable fries? I love French fries, so this is always my go to if I get the tacos. It was a really nice dinner out, and I look forward to dining in Islands again soon.

Was watching a boxing match after the first round they turned it off cannot show boxing but they turned into a bunch of scantily clad ladies singing with almost no clothes on I don't understand

Island’s was a family favorite growing up. Loved coming here. Moved out of CA and came back to visit. The food was great, exactly as remembered WITH ONE THING MISSING… bottomless fries 🍟. The sky IS FALLING! Other than that, love it here and would recommend.

First time coming here with my family and an overall satisfying experience. Restaurant is clean, organized, friendly service, and the food is a great source for American food selections. I'd come back again since their service was well worth the visit.

Fantastic service, quick and efficient, especially with catering to bottomless food and drinks. The bottomless soup is a great deal, and so are the bottomless drinks. There's a variety of different sandwiches and burgers to choose from, and vegan options with the impossible burger. You can order any burger and swap the patty out with an impossible patty, instead of having to stay within the limits of the default impossible burger. The fries were great, so was the burger itself and the wings. 25-15 minute wait time, bathrooms available, seating area not entirely spacious, and decently cleaned. Straws provided. The menu can be pricey.

Islands has been my favorite burger place for over a decade, but when you're paying $16-18 for burgers and fries it's hard to justify. Add a drink and it's a $21 meal. Still, good food, good drinks, and good service. I love Islands but it is just getting harder to justify, I know it's not their fault but for around the same price I could get a decent Italian, Asian, steak dinner or even a bison burger at The Counter. Decided to splurge this time, upgraded my fries to chilli cheese fries, got apps, and even desert (though their brownie is actually a good deal), and dinner for two came to $73. I use to visit Islands in college 3-4x a month now it's 3-4x a year. Oh, and their "rewards program" is really poor, little incentive to actually sign up or get me to come back more often.

Service was slow. No one asked us for refills or checked on us. The tortilla soup was between cold and slightly warm.

Atmosphere is typical of American theme-food chains. The lack of waiting to seat our decent sized party was appreciated. The burgers are okay. Not twenty dollars worth of okay. Average sized, better-than-fast-food taste, and the chili on my burger was minimal and so barely tasteable. No longer carries the Beyond Burger, but a cheaper homemade "veggie patty" burger. Coldest draft beer in area according to random person. Coffee just tasted like weak tea, not even like weak coffee. Tried cream and without, nothing helped. Refills were not forthcoming without considerate effort, which would have bothered me more if the coffee were good. Noteworthy: even the ranch dressing tasted watered down. I felt sorry for the bussers who generally seemed competent, but had to deal with what felt to me like they had decided to train new hires in the afternoon, on a Saturday where at least two football games were being run on their televisions. And I actually prefer serving staff who aren't faking bliss while serving me, but they have to make even just a small attempt to connect with somebody in the party, but this didn't happen here. It felt like the server was acting out the part of the robot that her management likely treats her as. Speaking from a lot of restaurant experience, this looks like the result of poor scheduling and management in general.

Fries were not good, burger was good fast food quality, not much flavor in the beach bowl. Prickly Pear, ship wreck and passion paradise cocktails were ok, rest of flight was not well balanced (just sugar). Not worth the cost.

We sat at the bar today after waiting about 20 minutes for a table to open up. Only one of us had our ID for drinks keep in mind we’re obviously over 30 by the looks of it. The issue is the waitress made a comment saying we look under 30 ? With a bad attitude? I get it the bar is busy on a game day but lose the attitude. Then she takes the next table order and did not ask for one ID. Obviously if we were under 21 why would we even be at the bar area but saying we look under 30 as a “reason” to card us ? Instead of asking are we over 21+. Not worth the wait. Never had an issues here until today

We were offered at the front door that we could order happy hour drinks and then after we were seated and ordered drinks, the manager Brian came and told us that he was not going to honor that. He "blamed it on corporate". Rude manager, false promises and it wasn't until after we ordered that the recinded that offer.

The food was terrible we ordered nachos I could not believe the quality of the nachos the burger was ok nothing special. The fries I am in shock they would serve, luckily we got the unlimited soup which is what we pretty much at it was OK.. I will never be back here again I regret not going In-N-Out which never disappoints and is half the price of this
