Avis sur Sushi Anza Torrance
This unassuming sushi spot in the Vons center at Torrance and Anza is incredible.. the quality and authenticity are off the charts. Their menu does not have the wild overly sauced extravaganza rolls you commonly see now in America.. this store has been there for a long time and they stuck to the more simple, traditional menu that relies on quality and balance rather than a ton of sweet eel sauce and mayo. The service is friendly and you can tell this is a long time neighborhood family run place that is much loved by the community. We will be back soon to try more of the menu.. also have ordered takeout and it was just as good and perfectly done. Eat in, take out.. just eat the food and be transported to a simple time when sushi was just taking off in America.. great ingredients and talented chef working with them makes this a must try.
Great neighborhood Japanese joint. Good quality fish, good portions, and price. Strong recommend!
I was just here last night with my wife and we got to meet her friend who works here and also got to meet the owner and his wife at the restaurant. When you walk in you really feel like you're back in Japan (one of my favorite countries to visit by the way) and the vibe there is very chill, mellow, and fun... The good was great and the customer service was amazing. The eel was amazing along with the Tuna Roll (of course I had to have a cold beer to go with it 😋 🤣) and places like this is one of the reasons why I love eating sushi with a real taste of Japan atmosphere to go with it! I will definitely be back and thank you so much for the hospitality!!!
Kazumi & Chef are the best ! The sushi & sashimi is always delicate & delicious! It is truly a hidden gem ❤️
happy hour is from 530 to 7 pm! Best sushi spot, hidden gem, menu is part Japanese! Love it!

Really authentic! I go there for chirashi bowl and sushi set every time. Miso soup and hot tea are complimentary. The owners are so sweet too. 10/10 affordable Japanese restaurant in town!
My first review! My visit here last night was nothing short of a revelation in the art of sushi dining. Celebrating its 17th year, this gem of a restaurant has not just stood the test of time; it has set the bar for what authentic Japanese cuisine can embody. Though it is not your modern izakaya nor fine-dining luxury, it firmly facets itself as the "OG" restaurant in the diverse Japanese dining scene. Immediately upon entering, I observed details of its classic entity by old decos of art, calligraphy, signs, photos, and handwritten notes. It was an ambiance that exuded warmth. I immediately felt the history and dedication woven into the fabric of this place. The owners have crafted not merely a restaurant but a sanctuary for those who appreciate the finer nuances of Japanese culture and cuisine. I opted for the sushi combo course. Each piece of sushi was a testament to the chef's mastery over his craft, with every ingredient shining through in a delicate balance of flavors and textures with a properly curated course. All the nigiri boasted freshness in a blend of tastes that was above satisfactory by the plate. But what truly sets Sushi Anza apart is the heart and soul poured into every aspect of the dining experience. From the attentive, yet unobtrusive service to the meticulous presentation of the dishes, you can feel the love and dedication that the owners have for their craft. It's this personal touch combined with an "aged" ambience that transforms a meal into an experience. In a world where the genuine essence of Japanese cuisine can sometimes be lost amidst fusion and innovation, Sushi Anza stands as a beacon of tradition and quality. Overall, my first visit here was a nostalgic journey through the very essence of Japanese tradition, guided by the hands of those who know and respect it the most. I cannot recommend Sushi Anza enough and look forward to many more visits. I hope to regain the same authentic warmth, excellence, and quality that hallmarks the culinary gems of Torrance.
My wife and I have been coming here for seven years. Best sushi in Torrance, hands down. Not only is the fish superb, but Kaz and Kaz are two if the best people on the planet. Very friendly. Rock and roll playing. Great selection of premium sake. I feel like I'm with family here.
I was visiting family in the area for Christmas. My flight got in late Christmas Eve so I looked around and to my joy and amazement Sushi Anza had the lone "open" sign in an otherwise empty strip mall. It's actually kind of difficult to spot because it's in the back of the lot near a Von's grocery store. Turns out they were staying open late that night, 2am I think. I got a spicy salmon roll, yellowtail roll, and octopus to go. It was really delicious and I'm not saying that just because I was starving after my flight. I wish I could get sushi this good where I live. The people were very friendly too! I'm definitely keeping it in mind for when I'm in the area again.
One of my favorite sushi places Torrance. I especially enjoy their Happy Hour weekdays from 4-7; 3 handrolls an order of tempura onion rings, and large saki... Then I am good to go!
This is a great hidden gem. It's a small restaurant with good food, reasonably priced and excellent service. It's a small family owned restaurant that appears the husband and wife do everything, I like supporting these types of businesses. I will continue going and spreading the word.
The food was phenomenal, cannot overstate how fresh and authentic the sushi is. Service was quick and friendly. 10/10 experience.
fresh sushi and huge variety of different fish. I loved the snapper, salmon and scallops. Every fish I tried was really tasty and well prepared. The owners who are also the sushi chefs are really nice! They definitely know how to create traditional Japanese sushi and dishes. The vibe is fun and the place has character. So glad I tried this cool little sushi restaurant!

Amazing sushi and authentic atmosphere.
Amazing sushi and authentic atmosphere.
No complaints about the sushi. The fish was fresh, the piece of fish and rice ball both good sized. The location is kind of run down and crummy, but the pricing doesn’t reflect that. It’s still standard sushi pricing, which depending on the item, can be a bit expensive. I would eat here again. It’s still a better value then sushi Nozomi across town.

Wish i could give it no stars. Came to a lunch meal with my husband. There is no greeter so we decide to sit at a booth. A minute later we have the sever tell us to sit in the back. However he never took us where to sit. The only table available was a longer table. We sit down after ordering our drinks. Our server comes back and told us to move but to the original booth. Decided to leave with my husbands. Horrible service
Not sure if it was just a bad day for this place, but we had high hopes of finding a new local spot on a Fri...Place had a great ambiance, definitely legit Japanese, but quality was subpar at best-sent back a spicy tuna roll, which says a lot...in my 20yrs of eating sushi I've never sent back anything, especially something like a mixed roll - was just made with seemingly really bad/poor fishy tasting tuna, as was the case for the other rolls and sushi. All other rolls were disappointing (Shashimi roll, burrito roll), salmon sushi was the highlight. Willing to give another go, so we shall see.
Horrible place for late night sushi. Gave me the wrong roll, one of the pieces of tuna on the rolls was rotten on both sides, blatantly obvious. Sadly I didn't take any pictures of it so I don't have the evidence but believe me, it was rotten. I've been here twice, the first time was fine but the second time was just bad. It could have been an off night for them but they weren't busy and it wasn't that late (10ish). I will not be returning
