Avis sur Friendly House Chinese Restaurant Turlock
We were seated and served right away by a very pleasant and smiling waitress. The waitress served the soup with care and the food was steaming hot, very tasty and not greasy. I don’t usually like pork fried rice but I like it at Friendly House. Everything was very clean and well cared for. We’ll go back!
Sister took me here and I liked it ever since! Must try! Authentic and fresh food made to order! Quit eating at panda or other fast food places and these prices are actually reasonable! For the price for 1 plate, it feeds 2!!
No dine in unfortunately due to lack of staff it's only take out...the family of 3 runs this place by themselves, extremely good Chinese food the best in town as far as my family consensus goes ( and we've tried them all lol) please give this family owned place a shot, I'm sure you will be a regular!
Best kept secret in Turlock! Best tasting Chinese food in the country in my opinion. Fresh, not greasy and very flavorful. A delightful dining experience. Friendly House is indeed a friendly place. Very clean.
Cute small restaurant, very clean inside with very friendly staff, food was excellent and prices average for a quality meal.
Massive servings for only 10 bucks, friendly staff, fast serving. Best chinese take out in Turlock by far. Take out only but who eats in at an American Chinese place.
The food is bombdiggity! The closest to Liberty Market Chinese food on Geer (if you know, you know) that I've had in the last 20 years locally. The staff are super friendly and professional. Went in for take out, we did have to wait 30mins, but it was well worth the wait! I'm super picky about Chinese food too, and I don't like trying random holes in the wall, but I was very pleasantly surprised and happy we gave them a shot. This is the new spot for sure.
Ordered twice, once for a family dinner and today for lunch. I think I can confidently say I’ve found a new favorite in Turlock. Everything is so tasty.
Best chinese in two counties, generous portions mean us older folks can get two meals so makes our dollars go farther. Love their sweet n sour chicken with chicken fried rice.
We dined here on a Tuesday night as the only customer dining in the restaurant. They had multiple to go orders while were there, as I believe this is the norm for earlier in the week. We have dined here on fri and sat and there are more dine in patrons. The tables are set up nice with cloth napkins and condiments on each one. We ordered the combo plates which arrived steaming hot and tasty, with plenty of leftovers for the next day. My only concern was the gung pow chicken had more vegetables and peanuts than chicken. The chicken was cut up very small and difficult to find among the veggies. My husbands sweet and sour pork were large enough pieces that he asked for a knife to cut it bite size. This is our favorite Chinese restaurant, however I will order another protein next time.
This is a sneaky gem that will surprise your taste buds. The food was so good that I failed to take pictures before I ate. The food was really good and the Chow Fun was amazing! The customer service was really good. The only negative is that they offer soda in a can, so "refills" can get expensive. I definitely would recommend this restaurant and will be coming back with the hubs. I found my new favorite Chinese food restaurant.
I didn’t realize I did not take a picture of my food 🤣😭 but my honey got the beef and veggie mix and it was delicious 🔥 #7 and I got the number 2 the sweet and sour pork with the bbq rice and it amazing we also got a side of chow mein and it was the best we’ve had! I couldn’t put my plate down 🤣🤯🔥 and We loved that everything was made fresh 🔥 (if you like places like China caff in Merced this place is worth the try)!
Amazing Chinese food with great friendly service. Food was fresh and it comes in big portions. Best Chinese food in Turlock...

Tried this place for the first time and I absolutely enjoyed everything, will definitely go again. Waiting time I give them also a five star .
Very clean. Excellent service. Food is fresh, good tasting, big portions at great prices. Visiting from Las Vegas. Highly recommend
Ordered their number 3 for takeout. I was craving chow mien and orange chicken and it really hit the spot. The food tasted amazing! Would definitely come here again.
Great food!!! Really sweet staff and great service!!!! Loved the sauce for prawns and mixed veg and Loved the flavor and texture of the orange chicken!!!!
My wife and I ordered food from here for pick up. We had the chow mein with orange chicken and fried rice with orange chicken. It came with an egg roll. The food was very flavorful and delicious. This is the closest to New York Chinese food i have had here on the west coast. It brought back memories. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you like Chinese food. I will be coming back to try other items on their menu.
Fantastic choice for Chinese food in Turlock! There are plenty of options on the menu to satisfy everyone. Don't forget to check out their lunch specials and combination plates. The staff is friendly and the wait time is minimal (usually 10-15mins). Order ahead and by the time you arrive it's ready. They are only offering takeout options as of this post.
Great family owned authentic Chinese restaurant. The food was very flavorfull, not drowned in soy / oyster sauce or grease. Good size portions and excellent customer service! This our favorite "go-to" for authentic Chinese cuisine!

Normally very good, I love their orange chicken and egg rolls, but tonight the chicken chow main tasted off, like bad, I had to throw it all out. Also, the cream cheese wontons had shrimp in them. No where does it say they have shrimp, so if you are allergic to shellfish I guess avoid this place, they randomly put shrimp in things.
Very fresh. Lighter flavors, not weighed down by overpowering salty sauces. Vegetables and shrimp perfectly cooked, not over cooked! The vegetables such as broccoli is firm and flavorful. It's never been soggy and cooked to death, then smothered in sauce like a couple other places we've tried. Various family members have sampled 3 Chinese restaurants in the area over a couple of years, and this place is consistently our favorite.
Wanted some shrimp fried rice and a little soup. Thought I ordered that and the bill came to $19. The food was ok , but it was a little salty. Lots of rice and few shrimps. Soup was ok also. I gave it four stars because of the cost, and I won’t give it any less than four because the food was overall good and it was ready when I went to pick it up.
First of all I was unaware they had changed owners. Jeff was cool but the food was sub par. That said this change is great ! I've only been twice, both times for take out. Both times pleased me. This place is definitely worth a try. Fresh and different from the other choices in town ! Nice. My opinion, give em a shot
Take out only. Go to Chinese food spot that has decent hours, good quality, and consistently tasty food! Love the combo plates that are all priced well and served anytime. My favorite is number 5 with the Rangoons and veggie chicken. Always enjoy the chicken fried rice! Will be back and would recommend.

Came here for a nice Sunday lunch. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. The service was friendly and prompt. I highly recommend the chicken wings! In my opinion, the spring rolls tasted a little bit better than the egg rolls. My wife and I got combination plates which includes a cup of soup, which was yummy. The only thing that was a minor annoyance is there was no Chili (red pepper) Sauce. I like to put some in my soup. But when I asked the server for some, he said that they were out of it. The atmosphere was nice, although I would recommend having some soft music playing in the background to add a little more personality to the dining experience.

The potstickers on their own would have been five stars but the chicken salad was very disappointing. Big chunks of iceberg, warm sauce and fried chicken(on its own was good). Have ordered chicken salad at many Chinese restaurants and never seen anything like this. Not good.
Prices have increased a lot! Spent $24 on only an order of vegetable rice and vegetable noodles. The menu posted is not accurate. Fortune cookies wrapped in saranwrap extremely stale and soft, that was disappointing!
They no longer offer dine in totally kills the experience for me. Nor do they offer delivery. And both times on my last two purchases there I have been shorted the amount of shrimp in the wor won ton soup. And the house chow mein. And they no longer make the hot mustard only offer the small packets which really isn't hot mustard. Obviously customers aren't their priority anymore.
In the Midwest when we order dishes like shrimp with mixed vegetables it comes with white rice. Here you need to order it separately. Food was great but not what I expected.
Summary: The leftovers were all eventually thrown away, except the Mongolian beef. Service: nothing noteworthy either way here. No particular praise or complaints. The order was ready in the estimated time. Food I'll apply the "Panda Test" here. Basically, asking "would I have rather had the Panda Express version?" Kung Pao: Mediocre. A little bland (for kung pao), and the chicken seemed dry... Somehow. I might finish my leftovers. They seem like more of a chore than a delight. I'd certainly prefer Panda's kung pao. Mongolian Beef: Pretty good! I ate this up and went right back for more with leftovers the next day. I would probably prefer this to Panda most of the time. Vegetable chow mein: Mostly good? This was pretty good, but seemed to have some kind of "under flavor" that I didn't care for. Maybe some kind of spice? If that flavor wasn't there I would easily prefer it to Panda. But as it stands, I would prefer Panda's chow mein. Fortune Cookies: very stale. I normally wouldn't mention the fortune cookies, but these were very disappointing. At least I liked the fortune I guess. "You deserve special treatment this month. Enjoy dessert." This first experience seems to tell me that the dishes vary drastically in quality. I think I'll be back for the Mongolian Beef, and to experiment with other dishes, but probably not anything else from my order.
Easy to find via Yelps/Google Maps. Clean restaurant and designed good. Pros: great prices and food tastes fabulous! Cons: 1 waitress for entire restaurant during lunchtime. While I was there, 7 other tables with 2 or more at them. Took 30mins to be able to place order. Was offered a water refill, little did I know I had to wait for a table of 4, a table of 6, and table of 5 to get their food first! I feel that the portions of food could be a bit more or size of the plate be smaller. I'm used to what other Chinese food restaurants provide, heaps/over flowing portions of food. This is the 2nd time eating here, previously dined in also but during dinner. Not sure if I'll be returning or recommending this restaurant.

I ordered take out with shrimp and I had 1 shrimp in my order for the 20$ I spent just to receive 1 piece of shrimp and you wonder why the line is not out the door to expensive for the amount of food you receive

I did a review a few weeks ago and I had nothing but good things to say. However, this time it was like a different restaurant. It was expensive but good but now it's just overpriced. The chicken pieces were small and over cooked dark meat leftovers. The flavor gave visions of supermarket freezers, yellow bags and nothing but dough covering scraps of meat. I may give it another go if I'm feeling lucky or desperate.
The food is good... When they get the order correct. Everytime I go, they get the order wrong, and I have to go back in so they can fix it. The food isn't worth the hassle though, so unfortunately, I will not be choosing Friendly House anymore.
Fried food was chewy and like rubber(potsticker, prawns, lemon chicken). The veggies in the beef with vegetables were mushy and old and the sauce was lumpy and congealed. The chow main tasted like it was a couple days old, noodles chalky, bean sprouts soggy (no snap). Worst of all, it cost me over fifty dollars to have this experience 😑!
We ate there once...once was enough. And friendly house ain't too friendly. here's your food , now be on your way.
I wish I would have read the negative reviews first. The staff was very friendly, however, food was not what I expected. Very odd flavors! The first flavor I got from the fried rice was stale, fryer oil. After the first bite, it tasted like they just threw some soy sauce on it; no sesame oil flavor, no ginger flavor, no garlic, just bland. I had to take the bell peppers out of the almond chicken because it was the only flavor I could taste, otherwise it was just bland. The foil wrap chicken had an odd taste as well, kind of soapy or something out of place. Otherwise it was bland as well. So, if you prefer bland food, this is your place. If you like some dimension to your food, I would recommend you look elsewhere. I wish that the owner had been more receptive when she asked how the food was and I said, "meh, it was okay." "Okay" to me means edible but far from restaurant worthy.
Tasted salty, it was so hot inside we were sweating and no air on. Sodas are all can
While the staff were friendly, the food was subpar. The cream cheese wontons looked strange and had a cheap tasting filling, and the accompanying red sauce was super thick and just not good. The worst part, however, were the fortune cookies which I specifically asked for with my order. I knew they were old the moment I tried to crack them open and felt how soft and rubbery they were. Of course, they were inedible. We were also told they're only accepting take out orders, but I'll only return if I'm able to dine in.

I get sick everytime I eat here. remind me not to order here again I told myself the first time. combo was 8$ ordered side of fried rice came out to 36$$!! I asked for receipt and all I got was "hurry up n buy" I scrammbed after that!
Place isn't a sit in restaurant. They have it closed off. The chow main is spaghetti noodles....lol The price for what I ordered was ridiculous. Nearly nothing for what I paid. Won't be going there again.
The owner was soooooooo nice! The reason I only did 1 star is because honestly the food was terrible...I have never been there and was recommended to go and sorry but won't go back...Orange chicken not only smelled bad but tasted bad and the chow main was too soft...the rice was good though but sorry...I would go in to say hi because he was awesome but the food not so much...
The food was prepared promptly but it lacked flavor. The "flavor" it did contain was an overuse of pepper and miscellaneous other spices. Did they put cinnamon or nutmeg in their spring rolls??? It was strange. The pork chow mein was bland. It looked delicious but there wasn't much to it. The pork fried rice was the same. No surprise. The only thing that was remotely tasty was the sweet n sour pork. I will not be going back. It was so bad that saving it for left overs was not an option. We tossed it because there was no point in reliving a bad experience.
We were excited to try Friendly House, unfortunately both myself and my husband got sick shortly after eating out food. The food wasn't hot and it didn't taste good at all.
Previous review.!!!! Delicious food always made to order. Orange chicken is always crispy. I haven't ordered anything that i don't like even after about 8 years of dining here. Won ton soup, chow mein rice entrees. They are all mouth watering. I'm leaving a new review based on my last three visits here. Apparently the owner now has his brother working who makes jokes about keeping your debit card and running it for a thousand dollars sorry but that is not the way to joke when you don't know a customer. Our most recent visit was tonight 7/8/17 my fiance went in to order to go while me and my kids sat in the car. About 15 minutes later he comes out furious. I ask him what is wrong and apparently when the phone rings it is more important than the customer standing in front of them. He took 3 orders and walked each one to the back. My half spoke up after the third order. He walked to the back put the order in and came back to take our order. Only to have the phone ring a 4th time!!!! So 4 orders were getting placed over the phone before our one order was put in! We were there for nearly 20 minutes without him even taking our order. We will NOT BE RETURNING HERE. Food is always good but, Customer service is important too.
I get there to find out they only do take out. I walk into a hot storage room. The worker was socializing in a chair and wouldn't even looke up to great us or say by . Not very accommodating or friendly .
I was craving Chinese and so I ordered from this place because of it's awesome reviews. Big Mistake ! The chow mein was so darn salty it was not edible at all, the rice seemed old, the egg rolls seemed microwaved, the only ok thing was the orange chicken. I bought three orders of this for myself my gf and a friend and all three were disgusting. There is no good Chinese places here. Your better off going to Modesto
This place used to be so good but today we ordered food and it did not taste fresh at all! Even the cookies were stale.
