Chumus with mixed chicken is a MUST. So good- has onions and mushrooms in it and is devine with fresh hot fluffy pita. We also got the steak sandwich - steak was done perfectly! Schnitzel sandwich was good. The chicken fingers were good, came with tahini dip which was ok. I do wish they had more sauces here. The fries were not great (one order was overdone the other was in underdone). When we came in there were pickles out out for us. Kids for cups with lids, always helpful. Staff was nice but busy. They answered the phone when we called. Entrance is hard to find, unmarked grey doors - pic in comments. Parking is all the way around the building in the back.
Excellent food. We come here all the time with partners, family and friends. Service could be lacking when they're too busy, but service is still good. Nice atmosphere, has parking.
The restaurant is great! Food is amazing, decently priced, and very nice service. The outside seating is heated for cold days, has music and is intimately lit. Love coming here
It was a clean place. The food is amazing! Wide variety, and great size portions. The ambiance is perfect. Highly recommend. Will definitely go back.
I like this place, they prepare very good hummus and its variations with tahini. I do not have pictures but another pleasant point about them is that they have parking and on busy time like Sunday evening even Valley Parking FREE :) you still can tip the guy but its not mandatory ! So guys go enjoy!
I had the hot appertizer Humus with Mixed Chicken, it came with freash hot pita. My friend had Shnitzel with side of rice with white beans. Both of us had an enjoyable and fullfilling dinner. Thanks
Consistantly good! Kosher steak house with wonderful food and excellent service. The kabobs are always tender and perfectly seasoned. The burgers are pure with no fillers. Every dish I've had here has been good. A little loud for intimate dinners but great place for large parties.
Best food. The place is beautiful and we had a great experience. Everyone working there is polite and respectful.
Food is delicious, definitely fresh and appetizing. We ordered vegetable soup and bean soup, very good. Moroccon cigars delicious, fish entree very good. The only caution I have is salt. The food is not bland, don't like food too salty.
Lots of improvements. The menu has expanded. The cocktails were balanced and delicious. Veal Marsala was soft and tender. The service was amazing. Only negative is the side dishes. Rosemary potatoes were thick slices of regular white potato with no discernable rosemary. If you don't want a starch the choices are string beans (not fresh and in tomato sauce) or salad. The salad comes with lemon juice as dressing. They served the side dishes on one plate so the French fries were on top of the salad. The tub steak was perfect.
Love this restaurant. Fantastic service and high quality food. I got the pepper steak this time which was very good. Wife got chicken lo mein which was ok. Steaks and chicken dishes are usually delicious. Love the yellow rice side dish. Staff is very friendly. Our waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely will be back.
Really great food and ambiance. Beef Shish is an all star menu choice. Staff is nice and attentive with nice outdoor seating for covid safety Update: Just called to order food and the man gave me such an issue with putting in an extra pita. Really nasty and cheap
Food is real good here. Came out fast and hot. Wait staff is sooo friendly and helpful. Highly recommend you give it a try! Great place for a kosher meal! Parking is a little tough, but they do have free valet so they can cram extra cars into the tiny parking lot. Haha! It's like Tetris when you wanna have them get your car...
We had a great experience as a family. The place was a little challenging to fine off of main street due to the COVID street booths blocking the sign. But once you get in the ambiance and food is good
Best place ever! If you want a good meal and great service with good portion size you go there. No questions asked.
Wow wow was overly satisfied with the food and curtious service that I received. The manager I think Moshe is his name was really friendly and the staff were very professional. I'm very meticulous about my food and this place by far exceeded all my expectations! Keep kosher food great
Good food, nice service, great value. The new cocktail menu was a wonderful surprise! We will always go back to Hapisgah. So comfortable, and something for everyone on the menu.
They have the best soups here on the menu. Anything coming out of this kitchen is good but the soup is really what hits the spot. Highly recommend 👌 it
Absolutely delicious food and great service! Moroccan cigars, chicken soup, spread platter, baby chicken shish kebab, pepper steak, schnitzel, sizzling chicken mash room and onions. I’ll stop here because I’m getting hungry. Check this place out you won’t be disappointed!
Had lunch with my mom at this establishment. I really enjoyed my meal. The meat tasted so fresh and was full of flavor!! It was just delicious. The service was good. Overall, good experience. I recommend trying this place out.
This kosher (under supervision of the VHQ) restaurant specializes in Mediterranean grill food. The restaurant has an extensive menu with various types of grilled chicken, beef shish kebab and other items. Service is pretty good. It can get noisy when it is crowded - it can be difficult to have a conversation. In general,it's a good restaurant and well worth a visit.
Went for dinner on Sunday night. The food was excellent! Electronic iPad menus are very cool. Area's they could improve - Speed up service. Why not make it possible to order right from the iPad menu. Orders could be sent straight to the kitchen without delay. This should also probably save you a few $$ in waiter costs.
Great spot for a Kosher meal. Friendly & fast service. A bit packed inside so if you like room choose outdoor seating. They cooked my steak to a perfect medium rare. Not a fan of over cooked meat so they got a good tip from me at the end.
Food the way its meant to be. Clean, hearty, nourishing. Nice service Decently priced. When are you coming to Toms River?
Super happy with the food. Clean fast service. Nice menu. Just slow down on eating the fresh bread and the Hummus. 5 star all day every day
Food is great. Severs are very kind and attentive. I got the extra large house steak. A thick piece of steak which makes it come out very juicy and you get a bigger bite each bite. Would definitely recommend.
After stopping over several times, I can say without doubt that this place is a great different menu. Good vibes. The only thing they can improve is services, but even now, it's not bad at all
Everything was perfect. No wait. Yes, it was at 4pm on a Sunday. Waitress came over quickly. Took our drink order. Food came very quickly. I thought too quick, but the steak was cooked as ordered. Sides were just ok. Salad and baked potato. But the sizzling mushrooms and onions was very good. Our waitress, Lieda was excellent. Will be O
We ordered an anniversary dinner to be delivered. Shimmy was the star of the night!! He managed to get our order delivered with such care !! No hassles ! The food was delicious as usual. Hapisgah never disappoints and shimmy is the extra added attraction! Can’t wait to do this again!! Thanks for everything!!
The food is excellent and more importantly the owner Moshe is a gentleman. I have been a customer for over 30 years and feel appreciated for him placing importance on his customers. There’s a reason this restaurant is such a success.
Had an amazing time here. We were welcomed very nicely by the great staff and they immediately served us with the hot pitas. Ordered a variety of the main dishes and they were all delicious! The staff were always making sure that we are happy and are enjoying the dishes we ordered. This place is great and I would highly recommend this for a lunch out and for a sit down dinner. Will definitely return!
Thanks Moses From the moment you step in, you are greeted with a warm atmosphere, a cozy ambiance, and attentive staff. The decor and atmosphere alone are enough to immerse you in the dining experience. The menu offers an array of delectable dishes that are artfully presented and bursting with flavors that excite the senses. The chef's expertise and creativity with ingredients are undoubtedly apparent in every dish. The food is not only visually stunning, but it is also incredibly satisfying to the palate. Every bite is a sensation of flavors, textures, and aromas that are hard to forget. From appetizers to desserts, every dish exceeds expectations. The service is impeccable, ensuring that every need and want of the guests is met promptly and efficiently. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu, enthusiastic, and eager to make recommendations and cater to dietary restrictions. The ambiance, food, and service all combine to make this restaurant an unforgettable dining experience. It's rare to come across a restaurant that excels at every aspect of what makes dining out special, and this restaurant is one to certainly rave about. Whether you are looking for a romantic date night or dinner with family and friends, this restaurant exceeds expectations and sets the standard for exceptional dining. Highly recommended!
Best Steakhouse in all of Queens. You won't find better than this.
Had a wonderful 93rd birthday for mom there. The owner was very please to accommodate our request. The staff, especially the girl taking care of our group of 9 adults was very efficient, polite, lovely. Got all our orders perfect. 👏 Food was as good as always.. cudos. Looking forward to going there again real soon.
I dined at Hapisgah this past Sunday evening with 6 family members for my birthday. We were seated quickly. The service was attentive but not overdone, and our requests were honored quickly and with a smile. All of our dishes were scrumptious- my New York rib steak was perfectly cooked and tender, all of the other mains were well seasoned without being overly hot, and the pita and dips were just perfect. An overall wonderful dining experience that did not break the bank. Thank you, Hapisgah.
I find comfort in Hapisgah. It is my true baseline of comparison
Very nice service (I was actually surprised with their efficient service). They made my drink by request which came out really nice (1 part vodka, triple sec, peach schnapps, 2 part sweet and sour) and garnished nicely. I ordered a steak and came out really great! Truthfully, I didn't want to come here, but my wife insisted. I'm glad I went, I had a great time!
This place has been around for a long time...and like fine wine they have gotten better with age. Amazing steak, amazing chicken and the staff are RUNNING. The place is nice and cozy and still classy, great drinks....but the food... Great place for date night and for a meeting or get together or the family. Rare to find a place that's good for all of the above.
The food was great. Really wish the sushi chef was in, however, since they have really amazing sushi options. Their falafel balls are delicious! Our waitress, Julie, was wonderful. Her bubbly personality made it a pleasant experience.
Excellent service. This restaurant has a variety of food on their menu. The appetizers are delicious, served elegantly with pita bread and pickles already on the table. Cold water is constantly refilled and the staff offer customer service pleasantly. I definitely recommend to try this restaurant out with friends, family or a date.
Food was fantastic...all servings were huge, perfectly prepared and delicious!! Menu is extensive! Drinks were also large and perfectly made. Service was wonderful...our very large party was served very quickly and our waiter was Excellent!! Very professional, friendly and helpful.
I’ve come here for years and love their food. Everything is delicious and always on point. Wish they would close a little later though. I came at 10 PM usually was open till 11 PM.
Delicious high end meat restaurant. Everything was so authentic and fresh. You could taste the real ingredients. Meat was seasoned to perfection and chicken was tender. We ordered the meat kabab, shishkabab and the young chicken. Also an appetizer with various salads, babaganoush, tabuli, tehina. Everything was delicious!
I've been going to Hapisga for about 30 years. The one word I would use to describe it is consistent. The food has been consistently good over the years.
Can’t believe I’ve never done a review here. This place is just great. Yes. Prices are high, but they are high everywhere. The staff is always courteous, the food always fresh and the restaurant is always clean. Parking is an adventure but the restaurant helps out. Not far from LaGuardia airport if you are traveling. Maybe 15 minutes without too much traffic. The steaks are all the same cut, just different sizes. They just know how to make a steak. All the dishes are tasty. Get the hummus. Best hummus in the city.
Really nice ambiance. The food was all amazing! The service was perfect. The steak and schnitzel deluxe were delicious. The chicken pieces with Chumus was basically a shawarma. We were running late and weren't sure if we would get here before the kitchen would close so we ordered ahead to go and when we got here they were nice enough to let us sit down and be served even though the kitchen was closed. Very impressed and would come again if in the area.
Very nice restaurant with tons of variety... They have great fresh bread that they make fresh Nice large staff. Many tables With a lot of different special plates I had their baby chicken which was soft and delicious. Also ordered the Steak and loved the falafel!! Thanks for the great service. Food was great. Food also comes out quick which is a huge plus recommend trying if around the area :)
Been here before, still really good. The wait staff was really nice. Started off with the salad sampler, they were all good especially the matbucha and the eggplant with tomato sauce. The Yemenite Style Meat Soup was really good. Only negative very limited beer selection. Bon Appetit!
It's pretty good...menu prices went up a little bit, which is expected since I haven't been there since last year. The steak sandwich was tasty and fries were fresh. Service is great!
Dark noisy overly priced mediocre food. Steak often arrives not the way it was ordered without the least bit of accommodation. But I just returned and had a much better experience with perfectly grilled and spiced steak.
The only reason I only gave 4 stars is because of the parking, if you come at a busy time be prepared for the possibility that you'll have to find parking somewhere else. Other than that, The food was real good, the waiters are nice and actually listen to you, I haven't tried out the bar but they have one. The manager was real nice to lookup if the ice cream they use has nuts, something I couldn't get other restaurants to do.
It's a family style italian eatery... I think that says it all. But as far as establishments of this sort go I think this is one of the better ones. We've gone there with co workers for dinner, a single portion was big enough to feed 2 or 3 or 4 depending on what you ordered. The service is excellent and ability to order half portions helps to keep your girlish figure (not that I care or have one). Overall I think it's reasonably priced well cooked and a nice place to get a meal with family, friends or coworkers
The food. Guys, that's the whole reason to go there. The food was amazing! I love the iPad menus that they hand out. You can see what you order, which actually makes it more appealing for you to try it. The cocktails were ok, pretty cool selection but obviously its not their specialty (get wine). Dessert is non-dairy, so be prepared to not be all that crazy about it (skip it, seriously). Go for the big meals, steaks are always good and any chicken dish tastes amazing. But heads up, prices have gone up in this post-covid time, so don't be surprised when the bill comes.
Nice place, food was very good, especially the appetizers and salads, the main dishes were also delicious, but way way over priced. Also the service was excellent and super quick, I believe our waiter was Gabrielle (but not sure) he was amazing considering we had a big party of 20 people. I understand its kosher, but still......
It was very good. I came here my whole life. I will say it is a little bit on the pricey side. For example chicken fingers for $18. Overall the food was delicious, service was fast, and the atmosphere was clean and warm.
Good place to go eat, service could be a bit faster
This place used to be a great place to eat in the past. Ate here today and was very disappointed by almost everything. The extra large steak for $51 was for very small but yummy, the side orders of French fries seemed like the pieces were counted. The food overall was fine, the service was superb but the portions were very small and not really satisfying.
too crowded no matter when u go. your reservation is NEVER AND I REPEAT NEVER ready on time. you must wait 30 minutes usually with or without a reservation. service is inattentive, and extremely annoying to get the waiters eye. food is delicious but the other factors are too important to me.
Good place to grab a bit to eat. Come by often service is good and the food is good as well. My only issue is that the sandwich menu is lacking, would be great if there were more options available.
Growing up in this area. Hapisgah was the best Israeli restaurant in NYC with out a doubt. But that was about 20 years ago . Today sadly the place has become old and bland compared to other restaurants in the area. My honest opinion: it’s expensive , bland , not tasty , empty ( that’s why it’s also not fresh ) and they don’t give you any thing with your food which makes your food dry. I really wish this place was still as popping and good as it used to be. But now I can see why it’s always completely empty
Excellent food but the waiter was very pushy and tried to pressure me to leave a bigger tip. I left what I could but he was very disrespectful and when I asked for the manager he lied and told me the manager wasn't there. After insisting the manager came and handled everything respectfully. By the way the manager was always there. Great food but not worth a return. I wouldn't recommend.
It was 17 of us in the table, we were all ordering appetizers, sushi and salads. Then we all ordered branzino fish. The waiter came in 15 minutes and said i am sorry but is no more branzino fish. We ask for manager to come and accommodate us with something else or give us a special price for salmon fish. The Manager was screaming and yelling at us, being aggressive and rude (I am even not sure if he was a manager or mashgiah). We all want to leave this place immediately, but since it was a birthday party we all stayed. The food itself would give a 3 star. We all left disappointed from this place. Not recommend to go there more than 2 people
Food was good. Service great. However, for a party menu, had limited (little amount) of options for the price you pay. $108 plus tip per person. I am confused as to how a party menu is more money than the actual menu. Can someone help with how operations work in restaurants? Thank you!
$192 for 5 dishes, one being chicken nuggets and fries. Salad had no dressing and the meat was bland. It's overpriced food because it's kosher. For that price, I expected better food.
I was very disappointed this evening. I went with my 99 year old mother who is on a restricted diet to eat dinner. I called in advance and was assured that they had chicken soup and matzo balls. When we ordered, I was told that there were none. Then I asked for noodles. I was told they had none. My mother was cold and wanted tea with honey, no honey. On the plus side, the waiter was excellent.
Wow, downhill. No taste to the food, no bread or rice w the tahini and salads. Waiter never stopped by to ask us if we needed anything. Outside looks like a shanty town. Geez - hire some local artists to paint something nice! Waiters did NOT tie their bow ties and said it was bc they wanted to be relaxed. On the positive side- great selection of food. great jazzy music, perfect volume. Beautiful Mediterranean paintings.
at 7 PM with a reservation. The ambiance was nice, and the food was tasty once we finally received it. However, the service was extremely slow. We waited 30 minutes before the waiter took a small order, and it took two hours before we could place our main order. The waiter seemed overwhelmed, managing six other tables, and when we finally ordered, we were told they were too busy to provide timely service. Despite this, a $93 service charge was added to our bill, which I found unacceptable given the level of service. This experience made what should have been an enjoyable evening into a frustrating one. I hope others have a better experience, but I cannot recommend this restaurant based on my visit."
We went there last week and I have nothing good to say. Very very disappointing experience. I don’t usually post negative reviews , but this is the third time in a row in the last 2 years that we are extremely disappointed. Let’s start with the service - horrible! There was only 1 waiter for the whole outside seating area. That same waiter was also the bus boy and the server. He catered to approximately 50 people. He really did his best. But when other waiters walked around, they refused to help at all. So although it wasn’t the waiters fault , I blame the owner and the manager. Waiting for appetizers- it took over an hour for our sushi to arrive. We were told it would take 30-45 minutes. But it took an hour and 20 minutes. We finished the appetizers and ordered our main dishes. Requested to have the dishes replaced. And guess what - we have to clear our own plates. The food arrived before our clean plates/silverware. Unfortunately They’re cutting corners and we don’t ever plan on going back. I only gave a second star because our waiter deserved it. He really tried his best. But come on hapisgah. Get your act together.
I had high hopes for this place. The ambiance was nice, the menu was good, and the food was good. The service though, was below sub-par. I'm really hoping it was just the waitress we were given because she was aweful. We came in, sat with the menu for about 10 minutes. Finally the bus girl brought us bread and pickles but no silverware, napkins, cups or water. Another 10 minutes later, the waitress finally shows up and takes our order. We got mushroom hummus, 2 main entrees and 2 glasses of wine. We eat the bread and pickles and about 15 minutes later the waitress brings the hummus with no additional bread. We ask her to bring more and for silverware (we still don't have cups or water). We ended up having to ask another waiter for water and he seemed surprised we didn't even have cups (main reason I think it was just our waitress). The food came and there was no dipping sauce for the schnitzel and the baked potato came with nothing (bare and dry). The last thing the waitress gave us (after we had been there for almost an hour) was the wine! It should have been the first thing she brought out! At no point did she ever ask us if there was anything else we needed nor did she come to check and see how we were doing or if we needed anything else. I spent over $100 and feel jipped due to the service. I will try the place again sometime in the future, with hopes of a better experience.
Bad place. Very expensive for a neighborhood restaurant. Steaks horrible dry, little 6oz $50. 12 oz $75 what!!! The hamburgers looks like plastic meet, pale white, totally unnatural color, no taste a all, and very hard to chew, and $21. Green beans fron CANS!!!. Honestly McDonald burgers are better for 1/3 of the price. Never again.
Really bad experience last night. Came here with two other couples last night. The hostess was rude through the night. She refused to accommodate us at all and spoke to us with an obnoxious and condescending tone. Further she had to be educated on the proper way to wear a mask. The waiters were amateurs. They did not know how to take a proper order and continuously brought the wrong drinks and appetizers to the table. It took 45 minutes to get a sparkling water. 45 minutes!! Chumus platter came 30 mins after the bread. No utensils or plates. We got up ourselves to get utensils and serving spoons. Dude you don’t bring me a chumus platter without a serving spoon. The waiter was obviously new or stressed and his hands were shaking. We noticed this and felt bad. We told him it’s ok, we are patient, take your time and just get the order right. I asked for him to focus a little more on us because we were being neglected, our orders were coming out wrong and at the wrong times. Suddenly the same rude hostess walks up to our table to rebuke us for being rude to the waiter. What?!? We are being rude because HE cannot take our orders in a proper way. We are being rude because as customers we have certain expectations. He didn’t bring our appetizers, brought white wine when we asked for red. Then came back 15 minutes later to tell us they are out of red wine. Meanwhile we still didn’t have a humus platter or water for the table after over 40 minutes of sitting there? I told the waitress we were not rude to him and in fact told him to take his time. She claimed we told the waiter not to work on other tables. I told her this was not true. But she kept arguing with us, basically accusing us of being liars. She came to our table to start an argument. She then took offense when I told her to wear her mask properly. I then asked her instead of arguing with us why don’t u go help the poor waiter and she said “well I’m not a waiter.” I told her “yes and you’re a horrible hostess as well, get me your manager”. This is the best past...The manger/owner arrives and seems like he is ready to help so we can salvage and maybe even enjoy the evening. We begin telling him how the evening has been going. How the hostess was rude on multiple occasions. How the waiter kept messing up our orders. How he then blamed us and complained about us to others. And at that very moment a DIFFERENT waiter arrives with our morrocan cigars which took 40 mins to get to our table. He says in a loud and obnoxious tone “guys I’m not your waiter, but your waiter said he doesn’t want to bring you your appetizers because you are being disrespectful” and he drops the cigars at the end of the table and walks away. Are you kidding. This punk kid is trying to rebuke us. He comes to our table to rebuke and embarrass us all the while knowing that his manager is right there and trying to manage the situation. This punk waiter is cutting off his own manager/owner. We had it. We told them off and left. What kind of restaurant is this where the waiters are running the show. Little entitled kids with obnoxious and condescending attitudes rebuking customers and speaking over their owners and managers. Disgusting. GTFOOH. We went next door to the burger place, had awesome service, nice attitude, smiles, good food. Shame on you Hapisgah.
One can argue about the quality of their food, which in my opinion is consistently dry. However, it’s fairly objective that the service is really terrible and constantly ruins the overall experience. I’m happy for them that they are successful and always have a full house but unfortunately it always feels like they are understaffed. Today my family and I received the appetizers after the entrees, waited for pitas for 8 minutes, had the dirty dishes on our table on piles for almost 15 min after we finished eating while we had them, one of the managers approached us and reprimanded us for our toddler throwing a piece of food on the floor. My advice, for a kosher steakhouse stick to Brooklyn.
Not the way it was. I ordered mixed chicken with mushrooms and onions. 2 pieces of mushroom and so dry as to be almost inedible. I mentioned it to the waiter who related it to the manager. No apology. I went to speak to the manager who shrugged his shoulders.l will not be going back. Just disgraceful. Don’t waste your money.
For a restaurant that always had valet parking, we are driving around for 20 minutes looking where to park and will have to walk 10min to get a spot. For Queens not to have parking? way to go to keep people away.
Used to be one of my favorite. 2nd time in a row of the worst service (waiters are trying, but seems that the kitchen staff just doesn't care). I doubt it if I'll ever go there again.
Very rude Manager! Someone from my family got sick from their stake plate, that he ordered from them today! Right after he ate some of the food, he started throwing up in the restaurant bathroom! He paid and left without saying anything, since he is young! Right after coming home, he felt sick and threw up the second time again. I called them up, and instead of saying sorry, the manager told me What do you want me to do? Absolutely a disgusting behavior! Yes he left without saying anything, but got sick from your food! It looks like the customer service is not that important to the manager, as long as you pay! Nobody cares if you get sick after you eat from them! What do you want him to do? I hope someone check's the kitchen and refrigerator, to make sure they don't feed the customers old rotten meat! Since we trust them! This is very upsetting! I hope the owner will see this message, and do something about it!
At the restaurant as we speak... Horrible management followed by terrible service. The manager told my family of 8 that he can't move us from a tiny 6 seater table. A reservation was made in advance and with 5 empty tables, they wouldn't move us. He straight out admitted that he cant move us to a bigger table because they need to squeeze in as many reservations as possible. Everything you try to order the answer is "unfortunately not" I've never heard the words unfortunately not repeated at a restaurant like I did today. The quantity and quality of food were subpar. The manager needs to get proper training on how to do his job. This place has gone downhill.
Not good at all Walking into the restaurant the hostess was on the phone. She had no help so we were standing in the doorway for 10 min. At the table, it was at least 15min before anyone even came to the table. When they did, we ordered everything, and they finally brought water and the pickles plate they serve. The food came out fairly quick, we ordered for appetizers: couscous with veggies- it was ok, nothing special, plate of salads- again...just ok, kubbe soup- delicious, A plate of hummus with chicken which neglected to state in the menu that it had onions and mushrooms, so we couldn't eat it. Entrees were: A plate of schnitzel with rice and salad- good. A plate of beef steak kabobs- under cooked almost rare Overall I would NOT go there again. The expensive kosher food Is not worth the quality you get, the service was awful and the experience of showing Americans what Israeli food tasted like- was ruined.
Sat for 30 minutes before anyone talk to us. After we ordered, the food came completely wrong. The waitress went to speak to the manager about what happened and he completely ignored the whole situation. Do not recommend going to Hapisgah. Will not go here again.
H O R R I B L E experience. Food was not cooked well and the steak was genuinely almost inedible. Super dry yet raw??? Don’t know how they managed. And our waiter Sergio reeked of alcohol and his eyes were genuinely red. If I didn’t know any better I’d say he came to work under the influence. He was sloppy. Dragging his feet. Almost spilled my soup on my lap due to his clumsiness. Genuinely one of the worst fine dining experiences I’ve ever had the displeasure of enduring. Felt like I was suffering for my sins. Hapisgah just lost a loyal customer!!!!
HORRIBLE service. Took 45 mins to take our order. Waiter said “I’m busy” after I asked for water. Then the same waiter said “look I have plates in my hand” when I said to come back and take our order for additional food. This is not a restaurant, this is a glorified cafeteria. Still waiting for my check, 30 mins after asking for it. Food was okay at best. Nothing special. Will not be returning.
Ordered takeout but didn’t know the burger bun was in totally separate bag from my actual burger container, and I gave the bag to my sister with her portion of the food. I have never seen a sandwich separated in such an awful way!!! Literally no sandwich to pick up and eat. Called them but they were useless. Spent a lot of money for no reason. I’ve always liked this place but this experience was horrible.
Had a horrific experience here. We had an 8:45 PM reservation for 10 people. The restaurant took our credit card to “secure our table” and if we cancelled our reservation, the card would have been charged. We arrived only to find out that there was no table available (despite having a reservation that was held with a credit card). We were finally seated at 9:30 PM with zero apology from the manager. We weren’t served water and didn’t have enough menus at our table. Our waitress finally came around at 10:00 PM to take our order, at which point we found out that several of the menu items were sold out (including sushi). Overall horrible experience. Will not be back here again.
I think that is a point that you say enough is enough. I sent my son to get me a chicken soup, when he came home I asked him how much was it and he said $15, I was shocked and tbh if I wasn’t sick like a dog I would go back there and ask for my money. I do understand prices went up and I was a regular customer at a Hapisgah for years!!! Not to mention the soup was nothing like chicken soup, a few tiny PCs of chicken and baby carrots in with a very strong flavor of unfamiliar spice- I had a couple of spoons and that was it! After this incident I will never go back it’s literally a rip off.
