House music chill. Une atmosphère et une decoration sublime, cosy,. Une expérience incroyable
Incredible from start to finish! We had the black cod and I still can’t stop thinking about it! Can’t wait to be back
A most
Not sure why the bad reviews. Having been to multiple Matsuhisa’s, everything from the food to the service to the decor was perfection. High quality ingredients presented well. Service was immaculate as a solo diner and the Arielles dining room is stunning. I’d dine here again when I return to Val D.
The service was outstanding, the food was superb, and the drinks were perfectly crafted. This restaurant ranks among the top I've ever visited. Alvin provided exceptional service, carefully catering to our menu preferences, and every dish he brought to us was superb.
Afrodite and the team are sensational! Go go go and see them!
We took the discovery menu, very nice experience
Superbe expérience (qui a forcément un coût). Laissez vous guider par le chef de rang pour le choix des mets. A faire !
Meilleur japonais, tout simplement exceptionnel ! Je recommande
Expérience incroyable
Beautiful interior, service was good. It would be better if this place didn’t host russians who cheer to their sick country and speak about you in a derogatory way. Another evidence that access to European values will not change sick minds…
حلو بس حق باريس الذ
Trop cher pour la qualité. Moyen par rapport à d’autres. Décevant
The food is rather disappointing for the price, service is also questionable. Also, limited sake selection, no sweet options.
We had an unfortunately very unpleasant service experience at Matsuhisa. We had a 9pm booking (they only have 2 sittings), weren’t given menus, water or offered drinks for at least 40 minutes after our arrival. We were told the omakase wouldn’t be available for groups of 6 after 9pm (no one mentioned this to me when booking). The food all came out incredibly quickly (within 30 minutes) and our wine and water was not topped up throughout the service, nor were the staff available to ask if we wanted anything additional. To top it off there was an additional €190 bottle of wine on our bill which we didn’t drink or order. While the food was very tasty (as expected and reflected in the price - the total bill was over €200pp), for a restaurant of this type, the service was awful. Having eaten at Nobu a number of times, this restaurant isn’t even in the same league.
omakase menu was the weakest I have seen
Cooked dishes were good. Service was okay, staff was eager to help but not very knowledgable. Sake menu was limited. HOWEVER. They literally served us the worst sushi rice I have ever had. It was unseasoned (I dont think they used any vinegar) and mushy. Its not an exageration to say that I have never had worse sushi rice, and I'm including grocery store sushi in this. It makes no sense. I'm not gonna knock them for having mediocre fish in the Alps, but rice ships well, and there is no excuse for a Nobu restaurant serving what they served. This isn't some stylistic choice either, I've been to Nobu NYC (back when it was cool) and Matsuhisa Aspen, and they didn't have these issues. Someone should have tasted it and known better, and I regret not sending it back and paying for it.
Overall, it feels like a surface-led concept, polished in presentation, but lacking depth. We booked in advance by email. When we went to confirm the booking that morning, there was no record of it. The table was eventually set for six. The restaurant makes a strong visual impression: a ninja costume displayed in a glass case at the entrance, attractively plated “Japanese fusion” dishes, and a DJ plays early 90s pop hits, which feels oddly calibrated to nostalgia rather than to the cuisine. There was no Japanese-language menu and no Japanese-speaking staff, yet staff would periodically shout “Sumimasen.” The use of “Sumimasen” felt stylistic rather than substantive. Service was uneven. The initial drinks took over 20 minutes to arrive. The water glasses initially had an unpleasant smell and had to be replaced. The food was visually appealing but consistently acid-forward and lacking balance. The tiny wagyu tacos were playful, and the desserts were good and better executed than the savoury courses. The experience did not reflect the standards we associate with the Nobu restaurants we have visited in California or with leading Japanese restaurants elsewhere. The total bill was around €900 for six people; the execution and attention to detail did not support the positioning.
Driver of their van with the Matsuhisa logo on the back was dangerously overtaking cars on blind corners and cut in front of me before a bend behind a school bus on the evening of the 7th March. Driver needs banning, absolute see you next Tuesday.
Very disappointing experience. This branch is nothing like other Matsuhisa locations around the world. Service was extremely slow, dishes took forever to arrive even though most of them are raw. Overall, the experience was bad and definitely not worth the visit.
