Hidden Matcha Gem in Chinatown 🍵 This amazing little matcha dessert spot is tucked away in San Francisco’s Chinatown — right on the northwest corner of Broadway and Grant, near the intersection of Broadway and Columbus. It’s a cozy and minimalist shop with just a few tables inside — perfect for enjoying your matcha treats without the hustle and bustle. The interior isn’t fancy or modern - kind of old style with tight space. that might be the whole a tiny negative about this spot. Be prepared for a line though! Most people queue up by the self-serve kiosk near the entrance, but here’s a secret tip — if you walk to the back near the restroom, there’s a counter where a staff member can take your order directly. Total time-saver! Their matcha ice cream and matcha drinks are super popular, but what really stole the show for me was their warabimochi. It’s not even listed on the menu, but you can still order it! Each box comes with 12 soft, chewy pieces, and you can choose from matcha, kinako, or half-and-half flavors — all incredibly delicious and fresh. The staff here are so friendly and helpful, making the entire experience even better. Waited less than 5 minutes for our 2 drinks and 2 orders of Warabimochi! Definitely a must-visit for any matcha lover in SF! 🍃✨

This place is SUCH a vibe ✨ My sisters and I are basically regulars at this point, it’s our go-to spot after surviving a long day of work or school. The drinks? Elite. The snacks? Chef’s kiss. 👌 If you need a caffeine boost but coffee isn’t your thing, this is your sign to pull up. Trust me, one sip and you’ll be refreshed, revived, and ready to take on the world. 💁‍♀️💛

My friend & I loved the Match Cream Strawberry Latte. 100% recommend the matcha cream instead of regular matcha if you want a creamier/fluffier texture. The texture is so amazing. Pro tip - order online for pick up because this place almost always has a line.

i got the double matcha (matcha latte w matcha foam) and i really liked it. i’m not that big of a matcha fan but i dabble, so im very satisfied in my matcha here. strong matcha flavor and a little gritty but that’s how i like it. the rest of my party got a hot marshmallow matcha latte and an ube matcha latte. they liked theirs too. the interior was aesthetic but the service was a little slow because they hand whisk each matcha to order. there was only a short line when we got there but it took a while to get our drinks.

I don’t know much about Matcha, I’m more of a heytea kind of guy. But my friend who is an expert said it’s pretty good. So there it is.

Small building, and always packed. Its a place to pickup and go. However, the drinks and snacks are sooo tasty- not too sweet unless you choose to sweeten it. I like their hojicha latte the best.

Amazing matcha cafe 🍵 This is the best new cafe to pop up in that in-between area of Chinatown and North Beach. The matcha's boldness and richness is one of the top I have experienced so far in the bay area dare I say. Hojicha is so good too - hot or iced. The matcha powder on the soft serve was so strong I coughed (and imagined I was trying that viral Tokyo soft serve with hella powder lol) and the warabi mochi/shiratama dango has a nice amount of powder as well. So glad these are offered - it took me back to childhood memories of my dad's friend bringing us treats and my delight trying the kinako powder again and again (used to think it was weird at first lol!) Friendly staff. Fair prices for matcha goodness. Please protect this place and keep it clean when visiting. Likes: - convenient tablet ordering - great variety of menu options - unique combinations of treats - amazing soft serve 🍦 - Good location if you're exploring on foot - seating area or benches outside along the street

Nice new matcha place opened in town. We decided to pay a visit and it didn’t fail our expectations. We ordered one Hojicha Latte 0% sugar with ice cream (because they only have 100% & 50%), one Uji Matcha with Ice cream Float and one Matcha Warabi Mochi. All of them were delicious 🤤 not too sweet and really strong tea flavors. Will definitely come back for sure!

Got the Uji matcha latte and soft serve mix (matcha & Hojicha) in cup. Soft serve is smooth, and has rich flavor, should sample to see what you like more. Hojicha has the extra toasty flavor and not too overpowering. Both matcha and Hojicha are great and not too bitter. A cup is a good size to share, might be too much for one. The latte is decent and milder than the soft serve. The store is very open and clean. Staff is helpful and friendly.

I really enjoyed the selection of drinks here. They have creative interesting Asian inspired pairings like ube matcha, strawberry hojicha, etc. I ended up getting the azuki (red bean) matcha latte since it’s one of my favorite flavor pairings ever. It was the perfect level of sweet but I wish the red beans were cooked a bit more/softer. For a snack, I ordered the kinako (roasted soybean powder) and matcha warabi mochi set. I haven’t seen many places offer warabi mochi so I was excited to see that option. If you’ve never had it, it has a texture similar to traditional mochi and jelly. Right outside the store, there’s the iconic auspicious cloud bench as well!

I’ve been obsessed with matcha lattes recently. This was recommended by one of my friends so I went to check it out. It was so good I went 2 days in a row. I got the Strawberry Matcha Latte. Black Sesame Latte. Regular Matcha Latte, and the Mochi. Every single item was delicious and enjoyable. I’m glad to have a location in walking distance!

Love this place! Highly recommend for hangouts and study/work sessions. The wooden walls and furniture really give this inviting and warm feeling that makes you wanna stay there forever. It’s very cozy and reminds me a lot of Japan. We tried their matcha floats and signature latte, and by far one of my favorite matcha drinks!

The staffs there were so understanding and accommodating! Everyone who worked there were all very nice and helpful when we wanted to add additional toppings and combine soft serves with some drinks that we couldn't do on the kiosk. The kiosk is available right when you enter, but if you'd like to pay with cash or add additional things that arent on the kiosk, then go to the register which is all the way inside the cafe. There are seatings available inside even tho it's pretty limited. We ordered the Matcha Ube Latte with Black Sesame soft serve, Regular Matcha Latte, Matcha Latte with Boba, and Matcha Cream Latte with Boba. There's definitely a lot that I still want to try because they also have a "Koffee" section! Overall, the drinks were pretty good! Please try this place out!

My friends absolutely love matcha and this is their go-to place! I prefer coffee and they do not disappoint. The whipped cream reminds me of marshmallow fluff just by how light and tasty it is. We don't live in SF, but every time we visit, we make sure to come here to relax.

The matcha boba tea is my favorite here, the drink is served with warm boba in cold iced tea -- perfect for drinking after mixing them together. The match soft-serve ice cream is also excellent.

We go almost every Tuesday for their vanilla soft serve special. Buy one, get two free. So a total of three soft serves for the price of one. The vanilla soft serve is delicious and the cones are always so fresh. The server must remember because she knew I wanted my soft serve in a cone and a cup and flashed 3 fingers to indicate she knew to give me 3 of them, Such exceptional service!

Everything was good except the Dango was bland. Everything is self order and no one checked on us when trying to place the order. I like the human interaction, that's what I rate my tip on... Not doing your job of making the order. We didn't have an option of making the order to go. The ice cream was in a small cup and melted all down my hands trying to carry it to the car. A bigger cup would have been nice since they saw I was disabled and only had one hand free. I lived the grade of matcha used in the products I ordered but I will find a more user friendly matcha establishment

I would not recommend getting the matcha float because the soft serve pretty much dissolves into the latte. The matcha latte was a little grainy and I wish it was a little stronger, but it is significantly stronger than Komeya No Bento. The price point was not bad compared to other matcha outputs across the city. The soft serve was a little icy. I got the matcha and hojicha mixed swirl; usually I prefer hojicha soft serve because it tends to hold up against milk and sugar better (just its nature), but I actually felt like the matcha was stronger and thus preferred it. It’s not too sweet but next time I’d probably go for a normal matcha latte and hope it’s less grainy or just the soft serve.

Always a 4-5 ppl line here but it moves pretty quick. Limited tables inside so it's more of a grab and go cafe than sit down. The matcha soda was ok, a bit of a chalky aftertaste, but i guess it's more due to the fact matcha isn't as good of a mixer with sparkling water than coffee. The menu is pretty wide- lattes, fruity smoothie combos, all with a matcha twist of course. Probably would try the soft serves more than drinks next time.

Matcha tasted a little watery, wasn't impressed. Black sesame latte with espresso was extremely mid. I suspect the line is long because they intentionally only put one screen to order (which was disorganized and took forever to scroll through). You'll get your drinks after ordering in about 2 minutes because the baristas are working on it straight away/not backed up.

There's a huge line of 10 people waiting to use the one and only kiosk. There are like 6 people in the kitchen and 3 people just idleing waiting. Any good management should see that the bottleneck is the ordering and they need to put one more kiosk

Dirty cups, rude staff, and poor customer service I spent $36 for four drinks, and one of them was awful — it had strange flavors and even soybean in a green tea drink where it clearly didn’t belong. When I mentioned it, instead of fixing the mistake, they wanted to charge me $2 extra just to make another one. On top of that, I noticed dirty cups being used, which is really concerning. One of the ladies with red hair was extremely rude and unprofessional, making the whole experience even worse. It’s clear Kiss of Matcha doesn’t care about customer satisfaction or cleanliness — only about squeezing out extra money. Definitely not good business. Be careful before spending your money here. Referring to the one in North Beach--- P.S. Please instruct your staff to deliver better customer service and treat loyal, returning customers (who spend $40 a day) with respect — instead of replying to reviews with “please email us.” This bad review could have been avoided if anyone had simply cared.
