Avis sur Ristorante Le Due Valli Valgioie
A cozy and charming place. The appetizers and Barbera risotto were excellent, but the main course was nothing special and the portions were minimal.
On the first day of our vacation, we stumbled upon this little restaurant on the Col de Braida. The staff were incredibly friendly and the food was delicious. We went back on the last day to once again enjoy the delicious stuffed pasta and gnocchi with sage butter. Highly recommended!
We happened upon it by chance a few weeks ago, had a great time, and decided to celebrate our 90th-year-old grandmother's birthday there. We decided on the menu, and everyone was satisfied. The only downside...we wanted to go back on weekdays, but it's closed. It's definitely worth it: delicious, well-cooked dishes, especially the tomina cheese in filo pastry.... At our birthday party, everyone had seconds, including me and my partner, even three.
The food is good, and there's no set menu. At the entrance, there's a lovely "Take a book, leave a book" initiative, an interesting invitation to read and enjoy the eruption. The interior is extremely clean and welcoming, but in summer, it's best to eat outside on the terrace, where there are plenty of tables. It's located in an interesting spot, the Colle Braida hamlet in the municipality of Valgioie, which is essentially a passable pass that connects the Sangone Valley and the lower Susa Valley at 1,007 meters above sea level. Opposite stands the small chapel of Santa Rosa da Lima, which, due to climatic reasons, is only accessible in the months of June, July, and August. A short distance away (about 2 km) stands the imposing Sacra di San Michele Arcangelo, a symbol of the Piedmont Region since 1994 and a constant destination for foreign tourists.
The "Le Due Valli" restaurant transformed our Christmas lunch into an intimate, family-friendly experience! Despite the room being full, a festive atmosphere was immediately apparent! We were warmly welcomed and served an impeccable lunch featuring high-quality, lovingly prepared dishes! Generous, thoughtful, and professional, it was clear they wanted to please their guests and make their day truly special! You succeeded! Well done everyone!
The pizza is excellent, very easy to digest and perfectly crispy. It's also good for takeout, which isn't for everyone. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the longtime owner is a bit "rustic," but after years of frequenting, I've found him less gruff than he once was. However, let's also realize that the level of rudeness has increased. Dealing with hordes of barbarians every day is no easy feat; I work with customers and I realize that. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the quality/price ratio is excellent. I happily return every year, for the food and the location, which offers gastronomic relief, even from the heat of the area.
I wondered why, since we live in Valgioie, we had never come before this evening.... We will definitely make up for it because we had a great time eating a good pizza.... The child had a generous plate of plin with ragù.... We had already been passing by for tea, a coffee, a snack, but who knows why we had never come for dinner... Very kind, beautiful place.... See you soon 🙂
Ci sono stata oggi x pranzo con tutta la mia famiglia, tutto ottimo dall' antipasto al dolce , personale cordiale, servizio veloce, assolutamente consigliato.

Colle Braida is guaranteed to be fresh. I went back after years of not having been to the restaurant. We opted for the pizzas, which I must say are delicious, a compliment to the pizza chef is definitely due. I looked at the prices on the menu and found them a bit high. The pizzas, however, are reasonably priced and worth what you pay. We also had dessert; I had stuffed peaches, typical of the area, and tiramisu; the desserts were also good. Coffee and limoncello. The whole thing was 45 euros. I will definitely go back because the pizzas are worth the trip. The staff is welcoming, even if they usually accompany the customer to the table.
A quick Sunday lunch outing to Colle Braida, followed by lunch at the Le Due Valli pizzeria and restaurant. The lunch menu is à la carte, with various appetizers, first courses, and second courses. We tried the trio of tomini cheeses with sauces (red, flavored mayonnaise, and onion purée), and they weren't bad. For starters, ravioli del plin with roast beef sauce (good) and tagliatelle with mushrooms (good). Prices are perhaps a bit high, with a first course costing around €12, appetizer €10, second courses €14-16, excluding side dishes. It's okay on the hill; I didn't see any other dining options. It's best to book if you arrive after 12:00, as it fills up quickly.
On the pass that connects the road from the Sacra di San Michele and descends toward Giaveno, at 1,007 meters, lies Colle Braida, and right at the summit is Ristorante Le Due Valli. It's a very decent establishment, with tables inside and out, serving Piedmontese cuisine. I had lunch there a long time ago, and I can't comment today on the culinary quality of the food. I didn't have a bad meal back then, but I don't recall a great lunch either. Let's say it was average. The bar service is also average, and the fact that it's the only dining establishment favors the restaurant. Since I didn't have lunch or dinner (the pizzeria is also open in the evening), I give it four stars at least for the kindness of the staff.
Only popped in for a coffee. Good coffee
Per una pranzo veloce entriamo in questo ristorante e veniamo accolti da una gentilissima cameriera. Scegliamo squisite tagliatelle caserecce con funghi porcini e una deliziosa parmigiana di melanzan…
Colle Braida is famous for its beautiful trails and is a popular stop for cyclists. This bar and restaurant is a must-try for everyone. I've eaten there several times and can say that both lunch and dinner were satisfying and of decent quality. I didn't like the desserts, and in the morning, for breakfast, I only saw low-quality croissants. The coffee was very good.
We just stopped for two coffees. I can't say anything about the restaurant. I'm sorry, though, that there's no coffee inside, forcing you to sit outside. I wouldn't like that in the winter. We wanted to sit down, but the tables were all set for lunch; we probably would have ordered more than just coffees. Looking at the prices, two dishes at €30 seemed expensive.
The pizza is excellent, truly excellent, and definitely deserves a compliment. Another plus: we had made a reservation, so we didn't have to wait for a table, which is always appreciated. We dined outside on a Thursday evening in August: the waiters who served us were kind and friendly, but unfortunately not very attentive. On two occasions, I had to get up to call them, both to order and to pay, after a long wait. At the cashier, the middle-aged man, who seemed rather stressed, didn't even answer when I asked about the waiters. Overall, the service seemed a bit chaotic. There were several waiters in the dining room, more than enough to serve the number of diners, but instead of stopping by the outside tables to check if customers needed anything, they were mainly focused on clearing the empty tables (it was already 10:30 PM, so it's understandable that they wanted to get ahead of the game, but at the expense of paying attention to the customers still there). The tiramisu I ordered wasn't good at all, a dessert so hard to mess up that it was surprisingly bland. Added to this is the slightly tired venue, which feels like it's seen better days and could use a facelift. Overall, I'd say it's worth going for the pizza, which remains excellent, but the service, desserts, and atmosphere didn't entirely convince me: it won't be the first place I think of the next time I want to eat pizza outdoors.
The portions were meager and expensive for what they contained. We ate outside; the walls were all peeling off. We ordered desserts; after a while, the waitress returned to say that the three desserts were out because they hadn't been made that day. We opted for other desserts: mint panna cotta, which tasted completely mint-free, and a lemon and almond cake that was at least two days old. In fact, the cake was lukewarm, practically reheated like you do at home to revive yesterday's bread.
