This place is delicious! This was my third time to eat at Rivera's and each time it gets better! I tried the enchiladas (one of each...chicken sour cream, cheese with queso and beef with queso) and my husband had brisket nachos and neither of us were disappointed. Oh, and my favorite are the pupusas! Will definitely be trying new entrées each time I visit. And yes, pics were taken after we started eating 🤣🤣
We were here 10 months ago and rated Riviera's 5 stars. Back again and it still has great food and good prices. I had the brisket burrito and my husband the 3 cheese enchilada plate. Yum! We had the same server, Sebastian, and he was ever the gentleman. BTW, if you get Sebastian, say the words "Pink Flamingo" and he will get you a free water! (It's a joke, but he is in on it. Do it, its worth the laugh!)
Wow this was great. Wide variety on the menu. Yayantique was really flavorful. And one of the better chicken tortilla soups I've had. Great experience my first time here!
Good food and great service. Our server, Sebastian, was attentive and a gentleman.

Food is great every time. The service is excellent and the restaurant is always clean. It's one of my favorite places to dine. I'm a fan of the soup, salsa, fajitas, and quesadillas. They have daily specials as well.
We LOVE Rivera’s! Nothing better than fajita Sundays!!! Our waitress Tasha was awesome and so sweet and helpful. We obviously will be back next Sunday (and likely all the ones after that)
I come here about twice a week for either a quick lunch or happy hour. Jeff is always helpful and easy to get along with. They also now have a full bar. I would recommend this restaurant.
Ask for Tasha, she knows the menu inside out and helped us select a new dish from their very diverse menu. Great chips, salsa, food was great, and a nice pour of tequila in the margaritas. Will be back!
This was my first time here. I have it 5 ⭐ for a reason. Five star food service. I highly recommend.
Great food! Fantastic servers. We will be back. It needs a good cleaning...the fan is filthy.
I'm not from here, but we stopped in here to have a lunch. And it was amazing. The people were friendly and the food came quickly and it was so good.
I have now tried everything on the menu. I am pleased with everything I ordered. This is possibly the best food I have ever eaten for South of the border food. This is not "Mexican" food but Southern central American food. Try their Flan and you will never want to. eat the other versions again.

First time here and we love it ♥️ Our server very good and helpful (Sebastian)nice customer service. We order Molcajetes for 2 it was very good 😊
I ordered the carne asada, and the meat was very tender and full of flavor, definitely the highlight of the meal. The portions are a good size, prices are decent, and the menu offers a nice variety of options. My server was friendly and attentive, which always makes the experience better. If I had to suggest improvements, it would be the tortillas. They taste pre-packaged rather than made in-house, and upgrading to fresh, house-made tortillas would really elevate the food. I’d also suggest updating the tables and dining area, as a refresh would improve the overall atmosphere. Overall, it was a solid, okay experience, with good food and service. With a few upgrades, this place could be even better.
The salsa, food, service was excellent. Our server was very kind and helpful. I feel like this place would get a lot more business with a little bit if face life and just replace the water stained ceiling tiles, and fresh paint. Just looks old and run down inside.

Really good food, excellent table service. The dining room was so cold, that I had to literally wear my heavy outdoor winter coat during my meal, and my food got cold before I could finish the meal. This happens frequently here.
Charged us $3 for cortido which is as much as a pupusa? I asked for revueltas, chicken and shrimp to try out their flavors. Was sadly disappointed. Our goal was to dine in but we were looked at like weirdos. Not a good vibe. Also so irritated, because the pupusas were soggy and one was pork with cheese and one was chicken and cheese. Not revuelta like I asked. They also give you a tiny amount of cortido and then charges us three dollers for asking for another tiny cup? Not happy. Not worth your time. I’m livid I wasted my time and money here.
Definitely mediocre to poor food, at best. I read the reviews before going and was really surprised how my experience was totally opposite of what others said. The gal working Mon, 9/19/2022, (waitress?) was very rude - no smile, no "Thank you", no eye-contact, no social-skills at all. She was this way to the other 3 tables who were dining in, too. Do yourself a huge favor and drive 5 more minutes East to Arroyo's - much better food, and truly genuinely warm staff at Arroyo's. This waitress at Rivera's Salva in Van Alstyne was the only one working the dining room. It wasn't busy. She was rude & unable to explain sauces in English (or, refused to). We ordered "to go" Dinner size Enchilada platter, a burrito, and Steak Fajitas - hardly any meat in the meals, and way too much Queso on the burrito. The Fajitas had enough meat for maybe 2 small tacos, and hardly any grilled green peppers/onions (actually, there was 3 slices of green pepper and maybe 2 tablespoons of onions). Pretty sad. Their salsa was good, but I can make that myself. Appx $40.00 - lesson learned. Hopefully, I can save you from this same fate. Trust me, go to Arroyo's.

I have to say this was a disappointing outing. This restaurant came highly recommended via social media. The restaurant had a decent amount of people inside for a Friday after work, but we barely were greeted as we entered. The person that greeted us was eventually our server. The chips and salsa were cold for starters. The server , honestly just seemed to not wanna be there. I ordered a Diet Coke and when my drink came back it tasted horrible. At this point he mentioned that the soda fountain had issues and that’s why the soda tasted bad. Would have been nice to know that before I ordered that! He seemed really inconvenienced once I asked what sodas weren’t affected, so much I opted for water. Once the food arrived it was lukewarm, at best, and lacked flavor. I thought by ordering cheese enchiladas I would avoid any curveballs, I was wrong! Finally, once done , I noticed the bill included the soda I sent back for tasting horrible. I just paid my bill and left, chalk it up to bad service!
Door dash orders are not consistent - the owner needs to have his employees read the orders! Missing dressing that was asked for and the guacamole tastes expired. Update: my son found a hair in his nachos!!!!!!!!
Queso dip was lukewarm when the server brought it to the table. We ate without complaining because we were hungry. I had the taco salad with taco meat (ground beef). Finally found about a tablespoon of meat at the bottom of the shell and it also was lukewarm. Plenty of lettuce piled on top. My wife had the quesadillas and they were lukewarm and the sides were cold. We sent her food back to be re-heated. We got there about 4:45 PM and there were only about 8 customers. So, it wasn't like they were busy. Server was pleasant but she should have caught that the food must have been waiting, for sometime, to be delivered. Code violation - exit sign over door not lit. Should have read most recent reviews before we went there.
