Mai trovato in vita mia pesce così fresco. Ora l’asticella è alta, speriamo rimanga sempre così. Bravi!!!
Ristorante di pesce situato in zona arsenale di Venezia. Bella location e ottima atmosfera.
Consigliato! 🇬🇧The restaurant al covo is located in Venice italy Sestiere Castello. Born in 1987, a cuisine that is the expression of a unique territory in the world. The dishes are prepared with products coming mainly from companies with Slow Food awards. Very fresh fish caught in the sandbanks or in the nearby Adriatic Sea; vegetables and fruit with a unique flavour, grown on the brackish land of Cavallino, Treporti and the islands of Sant'Erasmo and Vignole, which have always been the vegetable gardens of Venice. A good wine list with over 240 labels from the best national and foreign terroirs, with particular emphasis on natural and biodynamic productions. The restaurant is also part of the Chefs Alliance and Slow Food Presidia, and of the Venice Good Hospitality Restaurants Association. Advised!
What can I say?! Exquisite! This is not to be missed if you are looking for the freshest seafood, squid ink pasta, a great bottle of wine, exceptional service. Make a reservation in advance and then let the amazing staff guide you on a culinary experience. We had an antipasti seafood platter and a spider crab dish that kicked off the meal beautifully! We had a gnocchi and the squid ink pasta and then shared a sole dish and finished with a devil’s food cake and two glasses of amaro. The waiter gave a great white wine recommendation and we had a lovely seat to enjoy our meal. I’ll happily return upon every visit.
Our family had lunch here in April 2025 and it was probably our most memorable dining experience in Venice. We had a reservation and sat outside on a perfect spring day. The staff could not have been friendlier, including to our eight-year-old son, who is an adventurous eater. They answered our questions and made excellent suggestions based on our preferences and what was on their menu at the time. I had a couple of Adriatic oysters along with our courses and they were among the best I've ever had. We've been talking about this restaurant afterward at home for months. It's #1 on our go-back list for when we return to Venice. Grazie, Al Covo.
Food was delicious with the exception of the escargot. Did not have the level of garlic one would expect. The clams with white beans and ginger were outstanding as were the Sole and the Softshell crabs. Portions were slightly small but left satisfied. The Devil's Food Cake was an amazing conclusion, especially when paired with a Grappa.
This restaurant honestly was one of the best we’ve ever visited - excellent, very traditional Venetian style food with an emphasis on locally sourced seafood - top ingredients beautifully presented with a touch of old fashioned decadence. The sommelier was outstanding and even offered to change a bottle of bubbly even though we had already drunk from it. Features in one of Anthony Bourdaine’s food shows - very rightly so. Absolutely loved it.
We did not have reservations here, but they quickly set a table for us outside. The service was excellent and the food outstanding! We had the specials, starting with the gnocchi with baby squid - it melted in your mouth. Our main dishes, the tuna stacked with eggplant and a local fish, both beautifully presented and equally delicious. We ended with some dessert wines and a grappa semifredo. It was strong but also very good. Highly recommend Al Covo for a fantastic dinner!
Good food and service for dinner. Glad we were able to check it out after watching it on an old Anthony Bordain episode. Stands the test of time! Cozy and warm atmosphere inside although they also offer outdoor seating if available. One of our pasta dishes was a little too salty for my taste but the raw seafood and seafood in general was amazing, especially the calamari. Be sure to ask for the specials and what they may be out of before you decide what you want to order. We made reservations about 6 to 8 weeks ahead to ensure our reservation. Solid Venetian cuisine!
Fresh and delicious restaurant with good service. Everything was delicious! We ordered the delicious crudo appetizer and 3 different pasta dishes. Black ink, prawn, and mussels. They served us snails in garlic and parsley as an amuse bouche. It was tender, so clean tasting, and delicious. At the end, we had to order another mussels pasta. It was that good! I recommend to make reservations. There’s an 8Euro charge per person for sit down in the restaurant. That’s the only downside.
Il Como serves traditional cuisine executed to perfection, with incredibly fresh fish. We had an outstanding selection of crudos – each one beautifully prepared and full of flavor. A true treat for seafood lovers at the center of Venice A great option to escape from tourist traps at pizza san marco
Lived up to the recommendations! The food is soo fresh and creative, I enjoyed all of it! I booked this a two weeks in advance and could only get a lunch time so book early! I had the beetroot ravioli - it was perfect summer lunch dish. It was fresh with the poppy seeds and light. I also got the hummus with local vegetables, also good, I was surprised the vegetables were still hot but good nonetheless
Just eaten at Al Covo. We had a fantastic meal. Delightful location not far from St Marks Square. A good choice of food, especially if you like fish. I opted for sole and my wife chose a beautiful pasta dish. A great choice of wine from the local regions. Topped off with a cheesecake to die for. The recommendations for Al Covo are well deserved
Visiting the beautiful city of Venice is amazing. The history, architecture and plenty of restaurants to choose from. That said, I am thrilled that I did my research as we dined for my husband’s birthday at Al Covo, and I will say it did not disappoint. Our whole experience was delightful. It began with amazing service from everyone we were in contact with. The meal was delicious from start to finish. Our server Richard was a particular stand out with helpful suggestions, kindness and wit. Beautiful food, amazing staff and a lovely atmosphere made this the trifecta. Grazie mille!
Venice has a reputation for expansive food that isn’t very good; though chances are the people who say that aren’t doing the research they need to in order to find great spots like these. We had a wonderful meal filled with fresh seafood and beautifully prepared dishes. We had seasonal crab as well as a medley of fried seafood. Do not skip the desert their cheesecake is incredible!
Close to the Arsenale vaporetto stop, this is a special seafood-forward restaurant. Service and the atmosphere are impeccable, our waiter took the time to explain the menu and specials. My bean, pasta and clam soup was smooth and the clams added the brine taste of the ocean. I had lamb for my main course, it came with crisp fried potatoes and a honey/mint dipping sauce that added sweetness to the lamb. Probably the best lamb I've had in recent memory - crunchy on the outside, soft and meaty on the inside. This is a special restaurant - reservation is essential.
A wonderful restaurant in the Castello area of Venice owned by charming people and loved by locals and tourists alike. Quite convenient when you explore the outer reaches of the downtown or headed to Biennale. We had some of the simpler staples and all of them were absolutely excellent. Small local shrimp was fresh and full of sea flavors. Vongole was amazing, perhaps the best I’ve had in too long a time. Fritto Misto was super fresh, not oily and matchstick fries matched it perfectly. A lovely selection of deserts and a very nice wine list help as well. A very good choice when in Venice.
Wonderful meal here that hit all the spots. The atmosphere is really cozy, the service top shelf, and the food was the best part. The highlight was the spidercrab in it's own roe sauce, not far behind was the fish/shellfish brodetto. I could easily work my way through this entire menu in a couple of weeks.. maybe twice
Learned about this restaurant from the Season 2 Venice episode of Somebody Feed Phil back in 2018. Finally had the chance to eat here last weekend (4 August 2024) and it was worth the trip. Everyone was so pleasant, the food was amazing! Definitely a must when you visit Venice. The devil’s food cake is 🤤🤤🤤

Sicuramente consigliato
For an unforgettable and authentic taste of Venetian cuisine, look no further. The ambiance is matched by the great service, the waiters are all extremely professional, charming, and attentive. Highlights of our meal included the divine fried calamari (a must-try from the specials menu!) and a surprisingly delicious dessert: vanilla ice cream elevated by a distinctive and unique licorice syrup. Highly recommended!
I made a reservation here in September and enjoyed my experience overall. I ordered a peach bellini, which I typically don't order, but it sounded really refreshing on a warm day. It came with fresh peaches in the glass which was a delicious touch. They brought over a small bite from the chef that was an egg salad sandwiched in between bread. It was good but not great. I ordered the rock crab that came with a small serving of sauce on the side and it was delicious. With that being said, there were quite a few shell pieces left in the crab meat. If there was only a couple, I wouldn't say anything, but there was a considerable amount. For the main course I ordered the octopus gnocchi. The gnocchi was tender, but the flavors didn't seem to go together very well. The service and atmosphere were decent. Overall, it was a good experience, but I'm not sure that I would return to try something else.

Siamo sfortunatamente rimasti delusi.
