Cena di Capodanno ottima, dagli antipasti al dolce abbiamo apprezzato molto tutte le portate del menu' e l'abbinamento con i vini molto azzeccato e di qualità. Non ultimo un ottimo servizio che ci ha fatto sentire come a casa. Grazie per la bella serata, torneremo sicuramente a gustare il vostro menù alla carta!

Il posto è estremamente piacevole, per un’osteria ha uno spazio umano tra i tavoli, cosa non comune a Venezia. Il menù era perfetto, noi abbiamo preso le trofie salsiccia e tartufo che erano squisite ma la vera prelibatezza è stata la coscia d’anatra. La migliore mangiata a Venezia! Consigliatissimo per chi vuole cibo di qualità in atmosfera raffinata.

Piatti buoni e ben presentati. Locale carino e personale disponibile e attento. Unica pecca e non da poco, abbiamo ordinato 2 calici di vino in momenti diversi ed entrambe le volte ci hanno portato il calice con già all’interno il vino. Anche in ristoranti di fascia inferiore il cameriere viene al tavolo con la bottiglia di vino e procede a concedere l’assaggio, prima di versare tutto il vino nel calice. A parte questo è stata un’esperienza positiva. Ristorante consigliato.

Service is impeccable. Food is amazing. The We had smoked scallops as the starter which was delicious. The stuffed squid was wonderful in both the taste and presentation. Squid ink pasta and calamari were also very tasty. Now the desserts - my son likes crème brûlée everywhere but this one was beyond the best. The cheesecake was also very special, less thick than normally, and was my daughter’s all the time favorite. Overall, the best experience during our Italy trip so far - we’re 6 days into it.

Wow, absolutely phenomenal. If you eat at one place in Venice, this is it! Exceptional service, warm atmosphere, dishes that were both creative but grounded in tradition and perfectly executed. We had a group of 10 and all ages were satisfied. From the finest steak tartare prepared at the table to the perfect el dente pasta with lobster, snapper, sizzling steak and the desserts were so good. The cheesecake was the table favourite. We'll be back! Highly recommend!

Amazing restaurant! I would highly recommend for anyone visiting or wanting some authentic food. The staff were amazing and very friendly, especially the little dog. The food was incredible, I had the truffle sausage pasta and my partner had the zucchini pesto pasta, both were delicious. We stayed in Venice for 5 days and this restaurant was our favourite by far!

We chose this place for the outdoor seating for lunch, which we were able to request on making the reservation online. We enjoyed the squid ink spaghetti, “fish” soup which was really a seafood soup, and the trofie.

Really great meal- Dario made our night so special and was one of the best servers we had on our 3 week honeymoon. The filet (not pictured) was the BEST steak we had in all of Italy (and we went to a bunch of the top steakhouses in Florence). It was so tender and cooked PERFECTLY! Wow. We made a reservation here for dinner and I’m glad we did. The staff was very kind, the food was outstanding and the atmosphere was nice and relaxing. We originally wanted to sit outside but it was too windy, inside was still great. I believe we got to meet the owner, she was serving us which I thought was really cool. I got the squid ink sea food pasta, I was nervous to try but very happy I did, it was SO good. The rigatoni with beef cheek was also delicious. For dessert I had crème brûlée, yum, and a mint chocolate mouse ball.

We had an amazing diner at Osteria Fanal del Codega for our honeymoon! The food was incredibly tasty: the zuppa di pesce was incredible, we also had the specialty pasta and pasta with seafood. All seafood was delicious and fresh! Dario has been an amazing host, very thoughtful and caring, we recommend this place and will definitely come back!

Our first meal in Venice and it was fantastic. Ordered the fish of the day and the spaghetti with zucchini pesto. Flavors were superb and everything was well seasoned. Our server Angelo was amazing!

This was a superb experience from start to finish and most definitely our best meal in Venice. The manager and servers were so warm and gracious. The entire evening was wonderful. We shared two starters... the bresaola carpaccio with burata was incredible. The trio of saor won my husband over. He is hesitant to try new things and said he could eat this everyday. It was amazing! Husband wanted the paccheri with lobster meat but they didn't have any left so instead they brought him tagliatelle and a half steamed lobster, cracked and ready to eat. He was over the moon happy. I had the tagliatelle with gorgonzola and speck. Such a lovely combination of taste and textures with the creamy cheese, al dente pasta and crunchy ham. Marvelous! Fanal del Codega was an exceptional experience. We hope to be back someday soon.

This was by far the best food and service we had in Venice. Angelo was an incredible waiter - so attentive and welcoming. We got a reservation 1 month in advance and it was totally worth it (you need a reservation). We sat outside next to the canal. It’s not a very touristy area and very quiet which was so nice. We ordered the Trofie with Sausage and Truffle Cream which was INCREDIBLE. So flavorful, and not too strong. We then ordered the Catch of the Day with vegetables and wow… it came out on this massive platter, all cooked and marinated together. Angelo served and plated it for us and took all the bones out - such great service. We ended the evening with tiramisu which was incredible. We will be back next time we’re in Venice!

Andre from Ukraine was an exceptional waiter, Anise the host was a delight to speak with from Venice. Truly a beautiful staff, with exceptional hospitality… I didn’t get the names of everyone, but they were all delightful. Get the duck…. Slow cooked with delicate elegance. The filet was fantastic and so was the crab tagliatelle. If I could eat there every night, I would enjoy my weight with joy!

Osteria Fanal del Codega was our best restaurant experience in Venice. Genuine, friendly people serving proper, delicious food. My wife had the fish of the day and loved it. I had the fried mix plate, which was excellent. We sat outside with a bottle of prosecco and enjoyed a relaxed, memorable evening. We never felt rushed, and they gave great suggestions. A surprise accordion appearance made the atmosphere even better. They also gave us postcards, which we loved and sent to our families. A truly special place.

Simply fantastic! Found this place on Trip Advisor: it's rated #1 in all of Venice and I can see why! We were treated like royalty from the moment we entered. Excellent food, pristine surroundings and impeccable service. Jennifer and Irena were very patient and helpful with our family full of tourists. There was a third member of the service team (a young man) whose name I didn't get. What star treatment! Started with a beautiful & delicious cheese/meat/fruit tray...then had our salad, succulent pasta dishes & impeccably tender (and sizzling) 1.2kg Fiorentina Steak. PERFECTO! The whole lunch really was a spectacle!

Spinte dalle ottime recensioni, abbiamo deciso di cenare in questo locale. Il cibo è stato buono, ma inferiore alle aspettative create dalle foto e dalle descrizioni entusiastiche. Il personale di sala, invece, è stato impeccabile. Ci hanno accolte con professionalità, preso in custodia i giubbotti, accompagnato al tavolo e seguito durante tutta la cena con grande attenzione. Purtroppo abbiamo dovuto attendere circa 45 minuti per un piatto di pasta che, nel complesso, è risultato piuttosto nella norma. Gli spaghetti alla crema di zucchine, in particolare, erano decisamente troppo al dente, nonostante avessero un sapore molto delicato. L’ambiente non ha nulla a che fare con un’osteria, é piuttosto un ristorante e anche abbastanza elegante. In generale, probabilmente, abbiamo semplicemente sbagliato scelta, perché il locale è lontano dai nostri gusti e non rispecchia ciò che cerchiamo in un ristorante.

Attratto dalle numerose recensioni positive decido di prenotare un tavolo in questa osteria. Più che osteria comunque io direi Ristorante, perché di osteria c’è poco. Il personale super gentile ed accogliente, ci indicano il nostro tavolo e ci portano il menù. Menù abbastanza ampio, più che altro a base di pesce, decidiamo di ordinare una porzione di calamari fritti con verdure, devo dire molto buono. Poi prendiamo due primi, uno specialita del codega e uno con ragù di anatra…. Onestamente non erano male, ma ci aspettavamo di più, visto il blasone che ha il locale. Nell’insieme è stata una buona cena, consigliato.

Eccellente rapporto qualità / prezzo, con un’ottima accoglienza. In una città cara e turistica come Venezia, si rischia sempre di mangiare male o di spendere troppo. Per questo l’Osteria Fanal del Codega è stata una notevole sorpresa. La cucina è solida, con una variegata offerta di pesce. Ci sono alcuni piatti più “turistici”, ma la tradizione italiana è sostanzialmente rispettata. Buona la carta dei vini. Pur in una posizione altamente turistica, resta un locale dove anche gli italiani possono mangiare bene, ad un prezzo corretto. Una nota di merito per il personale, davvero premuroso.

I’ve been so excited to finally visit this highly recommended place in Venice for so long. In advance reserved a table outside and made all the way from San Marco. While ordering we asked suggestions from the waiter and he highly recommended a black pasta with seafood and since I’ve seen so many pictures with it I went for it. Unfortunately, it was very dry pasta with small chunks of seafood. As we were informed, menu was modified and they no longer make it with full size seafood as it usually was. Really not worth 25€(see the picture). When I said that pasta in general is dry and not tasty, I’ve been told that I’m the only one who didn’t like it their new modifications. That sounded a bit unprofessional for me. My partner agreed with me it’s dry and doesn’t have any taste and she gave me her pasta with Gorgonzola sauce to make me happy. After waiter came to take our plates, he asked again if everything was ok, I said that this is much better and he repeated again: this is not good only for you. All other meals carpaccio with buratta, Gorgonzola pasta and tiramisu were delicious. So the only two things which i didn’t like is black pasta and unprofessional comments.

Delusione! Non è un osteria e non è tipico veneziano. Personale molto gentile e attento, posto bello e pulito. Cibo mediocre; non da farlo portare indietro ma molto al di sotto di un ristorante medio. Il polpo di antipasto ha una quantità di aglio indescrivibile. Spaghetti, la loro specialità, nella norma. Paccheri all'astice da dimenticare. L'astice buono ma la pasta scotta. Conto alto rispetto alla qualità del cibo

Food was average / below average. Our scallop appetiser had sand in them. One would think it is basic to clean the scallop thoroughly. Paccheri with lobster meat was meeting expectation. No problem there. Steam vegetables were pan fried/stir fried instead of “steam”, and they were too salty. Pasta and steam vegetable took 45mins to come out. Food was overpriced in general. We sat indoor. There was a mosquitoe flying around. But bathroom was clean. Do not understand how this restaurant got all the good reviews. Probably better off with other restaurant, e.g., those across the street.
