Always an amazing place to have a dinner night with my wife

For hibachi style food this was pretty good. Between all of us in the party we had the chicken, steak, shrimp, and fillet. Everything was very flavorful and the steak/filet was cooked to perfection. Waitstaff was friendly and food was served quickly (much faster than a regular hibachi grill). There's no show, but who really cares when you are hungry and just want some good food?

This place is absolutely amazing. Great service, amazingly tender steak and chicken. Great sauce on the salad. The onion soup that was served with the dinner was perfect. The waitress was very observant and wasn't overwhelming when it came to the dining experience. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone. $$ value 10/10 would definitely go again!

Friendly and unobtrusive service. Nicely sized portions that didn't take long to arrive when dining in. The salmon sushi was very melty and the eel was well done. Prices are reasonable to sushi. 10/10 would dine in again.

There aren’t many options for decent food between Amarillo & Wichita Falls (lots of small towns). This is a gem! It was sooo delicious! Highly recommend you stop and eat here, you won’t be disappointed! Great service, super fresh sushi and hibachi!

Travelled from Colorado to Dallas and found this hidden gem! Was not expecting to find such great Japanese food in this small Texas town. Owner and staff were super friendly and food was 10/10. I highly recommend!

I order 2 Hibachi combo chicken & shrimp. One of the best Japanese restaurant I had ever tasted in my life. I highly recommend it. Is incredible in this small town is this great Japanese Restaurant.

Food is awesome, steak was the Most tender I've ever had, large portions, really good food. The restaurant is just a little different from what you would find in a Dallas Hibachi.

I second most of the previous comments. Friendly service, excellent food. Will be back! Hard to choose between this place and the Thai place on the south side of town. Vernon is lucky to have these great little places.

I dont know how anyone could give this place anything under 5 stars! Toro is an amazing restaurant full of a wide variety of fresh and delicious food. A true hidden gem for vernon, tx. I eat here 3-4x a week and have never once been disappointed! The staff is always friendly and quick. The food is hot and fresh. My favorite place to eat by far in vernon!

The last picture shows the sign that is directly in front of the restaurant. It looks like that at one time it must have been the restaurant for the motel next door. Same stucco finish. Who would expect to find good Japanese food in a little Texas town with a population of 10,000? Until today, not me. This recently opened restaurant serves hibachi-style food, sans the hibachi-style dining, and sushi. Being my first time here, I had to try two dishes. I ordered the Vernon roll (spicy crab, shrimp tempura, avocado, and cream cheese) and was not disappointed. I was a bit surprised with the first bite, though. I've never had sushi that was served warm. After that brief moment of confusion, I was able to savor it fully. That bite alone was enough to ensure I'd be back. I also had an order of hibachi beef. It came with the typical pile of fried rice and cooked vegetables. The rice ranks right up there near the top of rices that I've had. Not at the very top, but pretty close. I tried their Japanese style French fries today. They were different. Really well cooked French fries with flaked, dried tuna, and a couple of sauces on them. Worth eating once. The service was very good and we were able to easily meet our one-hour lunch. The atmosphere was unique among Japanese places I've dinerd The building itself was more like an aging Mexican food place that's been recently updated. Overall, if you like Japanese food, it is definitely worth trying and should end up being a place for frequent travelers of US-287 to stop for lunch or dinner.

Food came out fast too I'd recommend this place to anyone. It's a diamond in the middle of BFE Texas.

In a small town like Vernon, you wouldn’t expect to find much. However in that small town is the absolute best Japanese restaurant in all of Texas! The food is delicious, the staff are wonderful and provide great service, and the food, did I mention the food? It’s *chefs kiss* amazing! Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed.

Food was good but no shrimp in my order. My husband's came with the shrimp. No chop sticks. Sushi didn't have picked ginger or wasabi with it.

Excellent food at reasonable prices. The service is fast and friendly and portion sizes are ample. I am looking forward to when they start serving sushi. I'm half Japanese and grew up eating gyoza - the gyoza here is excellent. Definitely with a stop when you are passing through Vernon.

Well what can I say? It's no coast sushi, but it will do for a middle of nowhere Texas. Hibachi is a bit oversalted. But the service was really good, waiters are professional.

Ordered the hibachi vegetables. Very little vegetables and a whole lot of rice!!! They should call it hibachi rice !

Service was bad but worse is its dirty. Go in the woman's restroom and look under sink that isn't hidden is how I noticed. I took photos but don't know how to post here but mouse trap and bowls of catfood. I hate to think how kitchen is.
