Today I went with my friends to share the 4th of July at the Baleárica café bar, everything was fine for a while until after several opportunities those who served at the bar began to treat my sister badly, then me, and then to a friend, it turns out that my sister was ordering a drink as usual but apparently the girl who looked Mexican and a guy of about 40 years old, started insulting us telling us that we couldn't call him the way we called him So I started to say what we call them if we want a drink, but the very annoying girl started to say that they weren't going to serve us because she didn't want to and she had a very upset face, so? ? You tell me ? How do we call them to help us? Do we make eye contact or what? ,…. This girl changed the mood of me and all my friends so much that the people at the bar said they weren't going to serve us, so my friends and I decided to go somewhere else in total. The crazy Balearic cafe lost 25 customers at that time, all of them ordering drinks. at the bar but OUT OF NOWHERE THE TWO GUYS AND GIRL AT THE BAR STARTED WITH THEIR RACISM BY TREATING US VERY BADLY! FINALLY, we don't lose anything by leaving because we can enjoy another place, WITH BETTER ATTENTION... those who lose are the place because they lose customers who would not return again due to the racist and uncooperative treatment of the guys who tend the bar. My advice is that they should change personnel. No good vibe👎👎👎👎👎👍👎👎👍👍👎👍👎

So happy to have this new addition to the hood ! Its got great vibes for day time hangs and for late night- bartenders are super warm and drinks are delish. Beautiful space i want to live inside here - i bought a million plants for my house to try to replicate. Theres also a secret sexy dj and dance space downstairs ;)

Really cool space and it was a fun disco house electronic music venue. The basement was so cool and perfect to dance and vibe out so that was a cool experience. The first floor had a really nice aesthetic and ambience with a great space to gather and talk so it was nice and chill. The staff was phenomenal and ever so awesome from beginning to end with no animosity or unnecessary ism's in play. I highly recommend if you're into that type of vibe and space

The security was very friendly and attentive not rude like other bouncers. The bartenders and bar staff were very welcoming and the slushies were sooo good really strong but tasty. Can’t wait to come back will recommend to everyone and if your visiting New York cafe B is a def must stop!

Balerica is a vibe!!! One of the very few places in Williamsburg that has an identity. Always amazing music and good people. The owners are both legends, long established barmen in NYC who finally got their own spot and it’s exceeded expectations. The staff are friendly hardworking people. Easily the best bar in Williamsburg. Some of the negative review I find funny. “It’s too loud, it’s busy, takes too long to get a drink, they didn’t have food, i didn’t get special treatment etc etc” Please do not be put off by the Karen’s. I promise you if you’re good vibes, you’ll love it. Balerica is for everyone ❤️

My recently discovered place of peace and passion! This bar has its charm on the first floor and passion in the basement. Owners are charismatic and dedicated. You are not just clients there but guests and friends. So you are treated in such way from the start to the final “hey, see you next time!”

This is my favorite place in Williamsburg, the bartenders are great. The bus boys found my lost wallet with everything still inside. I went to tell the manager how trustworthy her employees are. Not to mention the bouncers are the best.

Always a great vibe here with a surprise dance party in the basement. Love the ambiance: classy upstairs and naughty downstairs. Tasty cocktails, great djs, down to earth friendly staff. you really can’t go wrong with this place if you’re solo trying to make new friends or come to rage with a big group.

Me and my friends love coming here after work or at night to dance. The ambiance upstairs is perfect for conversation/drinks. It has great drinks/music/lighting/seating. And at night the basement is ideal for dancing the night away.

Really strange music going on in the basement, but was a fun time

The upstairs space is a typical hip bar. However, the coolest thing about this place is the performance space downstairs hosting DJ parties, dance gatherings, comedy events, etc. You never know what you find in the basement.

Cool spot - was there on a Wednesday night and could easily get a table. A bit loud for a weeknight but good vibes. Drinks were OK.

We ask the DJ for something more fun and some of his friends literally push me. If you are down for bad music, rude ambience and average expensive drinks this is your go to bar.

Saturday night I showed up at midnight. 4 frat looking guys were getting removed from the. premises. Doorman asks me for a $10 cover fee, meanwhile I'm a girl and it's a sausage fest in there. My friend goes to coat check and is met with a rude attitude. Boy do I need a drink after that! Except... I go to the bar and we ask for a. double shot in our drink. WELP <3 THE BARTENDER SAID NO!!!! With one shot in the drink I decided to make the forbidden second shot a second shot at redemption. I go down to the club. area and am immediately met by Temu Lauren Sanchez on the prowl for a man within the ages of 55-Death. She def found it, as there were plenty to go around. Take your pick! I spent a total of 23 minutes in this establishment and it was a horrible 23 minutes at that. The reason I didn't give one star is cus it wasn't dirty inside and security was competent enough to kick out misbehaved men.

On the evening of March 23, my friend and I attended the Matinee event at Cafe Balearica. To our surprise, upon arrival, we discovered that the menu did not include any food options. Since we anticipated being there for several hours, I inquired with the person who greeted us whether the pizza mentioned for this event would be available with our tickets. She informed us that the pizza would only be served at 7 p.m., leaving us hungry as it was only 5 p.m. She then suggested ordering from UberEats. Disappointed but eager to make the best of the situation, we proceeded to the bar to order drinks, hoping for some snacks like roasted almonds and olives (which were on the menu). However, the bartender informed us that they didn't have any almonds or olives and she suggested we order food from UberEats (same as the other lady said). Following their suggestion, we ordered food after receiving our drinks. However, upon receiving our order outside, the manager confronted me rudely, stating that outside food orders were not allowed. This was contrary to the advice given by her own staff, which was disappointing. Not only was the manager's demeanor unpleasant, but she also criticized the smell of my food. It was evident that she lacked proper managerial and interpersonal skills. This experience left a negative impression, and I regret that Matinee is associated with such a poorly managed person. To make matters even worse, her manager confronted my friend and I twice and when I explained how rude this lady was, he had no words to defend it other than, "please dont come back." This visit will be my first and last at this location. Both managers should strive for improvement in their roles. MARCH 24 UPDATE: Surprisingly, I noticed that the individual referred to as "owner" Dave, or whoever he may be, utilized the email associated with my ticket purchase to search for me on social media (I observed him viewing my story). I find this behavior unsettling and lacking professionalism. It gives the impression of being stalked. I suggest letting go of this matter and focusing on moving forward.

After drinking and dancing all night last Saturday 13th of April, I didn’t tip on my last order of the night at approx 3.30am (poor of me I know). The dark haired female bartender then proceeded to double charge my card for the order. My bad for not leaving a tip on my last order of the night, but I was shocked that an employee would blatantly scam me like that.

They changed the tip amount. Once the charge posted on the credit card, I noticed the amount was higher than what I remembered. After checking the receipt, I was able to confirm that they doubled the amount I had written in the receipt. The cocktails are ok and they have 5-6 different beers on tap. But with this experience, I can say the service was underwhelming and unpleasant. Will not be visiting again.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. I normally don’t make a review like this but this place is a sauna. As a local, the customer service is terrible and takes an eternity to get a drink. To top it off the bartenders get upset when you call them over to order a drink and start an argument with you. The place is truly ridiculous and unsafe for the amount of people inside.

There's one specific manager, a woman, comes around with a rude attitude, playing the lawyer of the establishment. She doesn't listen to any issues and almost implied that if your coat won't be given to anyone so lightly but if it stays in the place overnight, they won't promise that they will have it.... soo did you staff take jackets home?? I dont know Perhaps she's used to deal with drinking people but with complaints from a sober person, she lacks of tactfulness and cleverness.

This place was hosting a Matinee millennial party Disco and House. The vibes inside were amazing and at first staff was very nice. My friend and i asked about the pizza.Two staff members the woman checking in and a bartender recommended that we can order out since it was still early for the pizza. Then after my friend receives her order the manager who I will provide a picture of decided she didn't like that and was rude to my friend and proceeded to taunt her as she decided to eat outside about the food she was eating. This person is absolutely disgusting and rude and if she had an issue with her staff telling patrons that they can have food ordered she should address them. We at no point asked to order out, they recommend it. If management is this nasty, DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE, PERIOD. *** update*** This place decided it was ok to try to bully us into taking our review down, absolutely will not be doing that. The public needs to know what kind of people manage this place. Telling us that it's hard ro run a business but treat people that way??? No it's not okay. She never bothered to apologize.

He didn’t say “I can’t serve you” because I was too drunk, which is a very valid reason to not serve someone but was not the case, he just said we’re closed when they clearly were not.
