Best meal we've had in a long time - so good we've booked for Xmas.. Everything was excellent but the food is on another level.

Fantastic pub, warm , friendly and great food. My pork belly was so tender and juicy and the courgette starter was so fresh and very tasty. Beer and wine selection is excellent. Top marks to Owain and team 👍👍👍

My mum and I visited yesterday for a Sunday roast, and we certainly weren't disappointed. The starters we had were very tasty, crab cocktail & mushroom arancini. For main, the roast beef was tender & pink, even as we visited later in the afternoon, very generously portioned, with a good selection of veg, cauliflower cheese and huge Yorkshire puddings. There's always room for pud though, and having the apple crumble served from the tray at the table was a lovely personal touch, and really added to the homely atmosphere. The crumble was delicious also! Overall, a fantastic meal, made better by the lovely welcome we received from Owain and the team - we'll definitely be back!

We visited the Plough earlier today - why hadn’t we visited sooner?? Walked into a jovial warm bar and greeted w Big smiles, shown to our table and ordered drinks… The Roast Beef and vegetables were really really good, the best I’ve had for a long time - we shared Apple Crumble which is served at the table, followed by a couple of Irish Coffees…we could see why this place is one of the best around, from the welcome, our food and a farewell bid, the Plough delivers this and so much more… Big Shout to Ralph our server, who was exemplary and clearly loves his job ✌️

Came here for a Valentine's Day special - film and food for two, all for £30! What an absolutely fantastic evening! The food was plentiful, hot and brought out quickly - the nachos were amazing, very generous on the sour cream! Owain and his staff did a brilliant job in creating a cosy atmosphere, it was a warm and unique cinematic experience; if this kind of thing is on again then we will most certainly be returning. Excellent value and a cracking night. Thank you!!

Fabulous pub with a really lovely atmosphere and a very pretty garden. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The menu is amazing with some really quirky ideas. We loved the “small plates” which you could have like Tapas. We drank Pinot Grigio which was one of the best we have ever tasted. Can’t wait to go back, sadly we are not that local or we would use regularly.

The outside area is a superb edition. We didn’t find it clicky (as most local pub feel) and we felt extremely welcome. Perfect prices for the quality of food. We will be back 😊

Amazing food - from the BBQ pork belly to start, the astounding steak and the tres leche pudding - plus some flawless service this was an exceptional experience. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and volume of food too. You will not be disappointed!!

We had a superb Sunday lunch at The Plough. We were greeted by a very warm, smiley waitress who provided menus quickly and gave us just the right amount of time for selection. The service was great throughout! Smiles, laughs and nothing too much trouble. The food was plentiful and excellently cooked. Starters of crab were very well received( I didn’t have it) and eaten with relish. Roast beef is a favourite of mine and this was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Veg was cooked to perfection and well presented. Huge Yorkshire puddings and crispy, fluffy, large roast potatoes finished off this feast. Apple crumble with custard followed by- deliciously sweet with custard of just the right consistency- was brought to the table and served into individual bowls. I could not fault this pub in any way. Loved everything about it- food, ambience, service and wine were excellent. Friendly staff and locals made this a great afternoon out. I’d highly recommend it!

Can’t believe it took me so long to find this spectacular pub. Everything about the visit was perfect from service, ambience, and food. It was very difficult to make a selection from the menu because there so many dishes that were crying out to me.

Thank you to all the team at The Plough for a fabulous afternoon/evening celebrating Palace winning the FA cup. Welcoming, fun, great staff and a wonderful atmosphere. We were only a small group, with lots of other different celebrations going on around, but we were still made to feel special.

Always a lovely and friendly experience by all staff. The food is outstanding and plentiful too - especially the roast. Would thoroughly recommend and looking forward to our next visit already.

Called in one lunchtime on journey from West Sussex to Oxford. A proper pub, landlord welcomes you on arrival, great lunch menu, dog friendly, log fire and efficient waiting staff. All three of us enjoyed our meals. Will definitely return on our next trip.

Great atmosphere , outstanding food , friendly staff. We had won a meal for two in a local raffle for The Plough so this was our first time eating there. We will certainly be returning to sample more of the wonderful 5star dishes on offer.

We've been here several times now and absolutely love the food. The quality is always excellent and I love how interesting the dishes always are. The menus get changed fairly regularly which we also love as it makes you try new things and stops you settling for a burger and chips (although they also do these really well!) The roast portions are humungous, the staff are so friendly and it's also dog friendly which is a big plus for us. They also do great cocktails!

One of the best gastropubs ever in the history of gastropubs and that's official! The focus, the care and the consideration of this staff team is second to none. The pub is warm, well lit with a great selection of beers and wines. And the food, let me tell you about the food! My starter was the perfect palette cleanser, well-designed and just as well executed. I executed that blow-torched water melon, the three types of just-cooked contrasting tomato and the smooth, creamy escallope of creamy delight in the side, executed I tell you, gone; every mouthful a delight. Then I was ready for the Sunday roast. Beautiful beef, succulent and flavoursome. Generous sides of vegetables and cauli cheese and a Yorkshire pudding as big as a side plate. Admittedly, the gravy could have been richer, the toast potatoes fresher. But this was a plate for for a king. At The Plough they clearly make so many of their own intricate sauces and accompaniments. That's also what makes this place hard to beat. Pudding didn't disappoint. What a generous helping of home-made chocolate mousse, deliciously creamy and chocolatey and topped with homemade tray-finished honeycomb, also a sweet textured treat, crunchy and chewy. The full bodied Italian red made a classy, complementary buddy for all the great food. Thank you so much for a memorable meal. I'll be back!

Great little country pub! The staff were welcoming, the food was exceptional! The whole garden was decked out with fairy lights and flaming patio heaters, a warming atmosphere! Also great value. We will certainly be revisiting in the future and would highly recommend.

Popped in for Sunday lunch before taking the kids to soft play at Millets. Heard the food was good, but didn’t it expect it to be quite as good as it was! The service too was fantastic. What a hidden gem. If you’re reading this and looking for a place to have a good meal in a great atmosphere, you’ve found it. Would and will recommend.

An absolutely fabulous Christmas lunch with our family The food was delicious (and they don't stint on the portions!) and there was a good choice to suit all palates. The service was faultless - friendly, efficient and courteous. We were a party of nine and it was a really good kick off to the festive season. Thank you Owain and team for making us feel so welcome.

Very cosy and friendly pub. Food was delicious but a little expensive for the portion size presented. Came here for my mum's birthday and they brought out a little surprise gift of chocolate fudge at the end which was a really nice gesture. I had fish and chips which was lovely but would have enjoyed it even more if the skin was completely removed and my partner had a burger which was really nice just a little bit lacking of sauce as it was slightly on the dry side. Puddings were amazing!

A very good experience indeed. The competition in Oxfordshire is quite strong so you have to be really good to stand out. This one does. And a friendly feel to the place too, which counts for a lot. My main course was outstanding in every way. Starter and pudding were very good, if not quite at the same level. Price was about right we felt. Will definitely go again.

Food is great but options are low which was a tad "boring" but the food quality was beautiful.

Went for Sunday Lunch today, the Sunday roast choice was Beef or Lamb, all 4 of us chose the lamb. When it arrived we thought they had served us beef as it looked so rare. I know lamb can be served rare, but this looked very bloody and rare right to the edge of the meat. The vegetable's that were brought to the table were very sparce (I actually thought that they were bringing more and this was per person) but when she asked if there was anything else we needed I realized that was for all of us. I asked for maybe more roast potatoes as there were so few veg (3 carrots between 4 people) and she said yes she would bring more. We started eating and all 4 of us agreed that it was excessively rare and so questioned it with the waitress, she said she would talk to the chef. She didn't return until we were all finished with our meals, all of us left the meat as we were unsure if it was even safe to eat. When the waitress came to collect the dishes she didn't say anything about the lamb, so I said we were all disappointed with the lamb and she said that the chef had told her "that's how its supposed to be!" People on other tables close to us had also ordered the lamb and we overhead several comments about it being so rare and someone questioned the waitress saying I ordered lamb not rare beef. We did eat desert, and it was very nice and they did say that the deserts were free as we were disappointed with the meat, so that was good. But when the bill came they had actually charged us £4.00 for the extra potatoes!! This wasn't mentioned when we were asked if we wanted more of anything. We had read through other reviews and it looked as if it would be good, but won't be returning!!!!
