We are in town for a conference. When we walked in, we were greeted by well-dressed staff and felt a bit underdressed at first. They quickly put us at ease and made us feel welcome. One of our party wanted some wine and explained the palette she wanted and was provided with two options to sample. The menu was thoroughly explained to us. Our food did not disappoint. It was colorful, flavorful, and very filling. Matt, Gabby, and Austin were friendly, knowledgeable, and very professional.

I stayed at the hotel recently and got breakfast every morning during my stay and had dinner twice. The food was very flavorful and delicious. I really enjoyed the avocado toast and lemon garlic shrimp. If I got room service or sat at the bar, the staff was friendly and helpful.

Amazing breakfast! Food was fresh and flavorful and hands-down the best avocado toast I’ve ever had. The coffee was superb and we’ll definitely be coming back.

It’s good atmosphere bar lounge. I was really surprised to the cocktail because there is raw egg inside. It’s little too sweet for me but I enjoyed it after offering lime.

This place is amazing! The food was beautifully put together and so delicious. They use real ingredients! Not the kind that makes you feel lethargic and tired after you eat it. The service was also really good. The waiters and waitresses are very knowledgeable about the menu and kind. We had bottomless mamosa’s and espresso martini’s. Chefs kiss!! My first experience there was definitely satisfying. I look forward to going back.

My son took me to Figleaf for Mother's Day brunch yesterday. We had a reservation and were a bit early, so our table wasn't ready, which was understandable albeit the fact that they weren't that busy. Once we were seated, however, nobody came to even serve us water for a long time. When the waitress finally came, I let her know that I wasn't impressed by the service so far. Things turned around from there on. Two servers came by to check on us intermittently the whole time we were there. When we expressed disappointment that there were no dessert options on the Mother's Day special menu, Kholine, the hostess, made an exception for us and got us two marvelous slices of chocolate raspberry layered cake. And she didn't even charge us for the dessert. The food was good and the decor was quite unique! I recommend this place.

I picked up an order from Too Good to Go and the staff was exceptionally nice! Part of the pick up was a coffee and they made an iced latte fresh for me. The interior is a fun artsy feminist vibe, a nice change from a basic hotel lobby. Would recommend a visit!

I went here with my 93 year old father for a drink and meal. Our waiter was wonderful and took the time to help us understand the options and explained the automatic gratuity system as we were paying our bill. I’d definitely visit Figleaf again!

Been here a couple times for sofar shows and to eat at the bar. Bartenders have been nothing but nice and the food is AMAZING! This is a not so hidden gem. The burger is one of the best I’ve had in the city, I love their garlic shrimp and the Caesar salad is divine. You must try them out.

We are locals that stopped by for winter restaurant week. We were very pleased as they had one of the best preset menus and are open 3 hours after most other restaurants. Great food, amazing service, lovely atmosphere (I'm personally not info the modern feminist vibe, but appreciated the unique art, comfortable chairs, and calm lighting nonetheless, the esthetic was chill and intimate in the lounge area– (lots of instances like RGB okay, cool, but where's Sandra Day O'Connor? Fun idea, but it could have been more creatively executed). Matthew and Dinesh provided absolutely stellar service! We almost didn't stop by due to the restaurant being in a hotel and the low-ish rating, but honestly was so beyond impressed by the quality of service and again, the great prices compared to other similar options within this area. Plus, daily happy hour. There are so many great offers here and reasons to come out. We look forward to taking a staycation here with friends this summer to enjoy the roof and pool. Thanks for making our little night out to celebrate our anniversary, so extra special! ♥️🙏🏼 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Fig Leaf was a great experience, from the unique design, the ambience, the comfortable seating, the interesting artwork and a personable server. The music, drink(s), & food were great! I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

Great experience!! My friend and I had a lovely evening— especially with Keyko as an amazing server. She took care of us and made sure we had everything we needed :-)

The place was beautiful and a vibe. There’s music playing in the background and staff was very friendly. The bartender Lex makes great drinks. It’s worth coming to

I popped in for a quick bite and had SUCH a good meal, especially the Aji Amarillo Caesar salad, one of the best Caesar salads I ever had! And I greatly appreciated Shervon and Ro’s attentiveness to me. I wasn’t even a guest at the hotel and still felt right at home! Definitely stopping back by soon to try the short rib they suggested!

Shervon and Austin did a great job taking care of us this evening. We felt very welcome on this cold December day. I got a hot apple cider cocktail and it was delicious!

This was very unexpected , all the food was delicious and I'm very particular about my eggs( can't eat regular eggs, so I was very happy with the pastured eggs and chicken sauages) , I guess I haven't traveled in a while , I dont agree in restaurants making you pay a 18 to 20 percent gratuity, that should be left up to the customers. We enjoyed the spot, everyone was very attentive and definitely the kids enjoyed the French toast and bacon. Later in the evening we purchased 2 different desserts to try, the experience for them trying something new was nice.

Don’t overlook Figleaf for breakfast. Located within Hotel Zena, it’s a bright, colorful yet relaxed spot for coffee, pastries or something heartier.

Mo was quite sweet covering up at the poolside, but there were no desserts on the menu! Get some desserts on the poolside menu!

Located in Hotel Zen, has a really cool vibe. Decor is very artsy and cozy. The brunch was incredible and better than expected. I liked the offerings and there are bottomless mimosa options. The quality of the food was top notch and reasonably priced. I got a Mediterranean frittata that was cooked to perfection, not overdone. My friend got the eggs Benedict with a slight twist with prosciutto. Also very tasty. And order the sides like the breakfast potatoes and sausage that had a nice seasoning that wasn't too salty. You won't be disappointed. The service is very casual and the staff was so sweet and made sure we had a pleasant experience

Good place for drinks, very quite and good options. They have happy hour menu as well.

We had breakfast at the fig leaf while it’s staying at the Zena Hotel! The food was so much better than most any other hotel breakfasts! I had the avocado toast and a smoothie and both were so packed with flavor! It also felt so much fresher than most breakfasts you can get at a hotel. It was a bit on the pricier side, but I had a credit I was able to use. The staff was friendly and overall for a hotel breakfast, I’d recommend.

The place is nice to sit and have a drink. A billiard table is there for free as well. Cocktails were amazing, food was sadly burned and not good at all.

It was $15.60 for a vodka soda in a lobby bar in a midrange hotel

L

The food was excellent. The service was abysmal. Dirty dishes removed painfully slowly one by one. No offer to refill empty coffee cups. Kitchen painfully slow. Missing pastry because someone couldn’t count the correct number of guests at the table. Wrong checks handed out. It’s no wonder they include gratuity on the bill.

A
Amy

The server failed to say that there was a 22% gratuity automatically added. Shady!! She got 42% off of us. The manager delivered the check. Only figured it out because we ordered a drink the next morning, and that server told us.

S
Shana Black

Food was good but confirm your prices. Recieved a text for happy hour. Ordered and my check came way above what was expected. Asked about the prices and was told by the staff they dont do happy hour anymore.

Unbearably loud music from a DJ in the room next to us. People kept opening the door to the room after we kept closing it, which made it even louder.

Stayed for 3 nights...hotel was really by way of decor, but the stay was 1000% overpriced. DC? Perhaps...but for what I paid, I at least expect a mini fridge...not a "cooler"...cmon. With so many other options, would never pay money to stay again.

J

Keyko was very nice the hole staff the presentation got a wow from me and my wife thank you guys see yah soon it was our 24ft anniversary and we feel very welcome

M

The drinks were overpriced! The Nana's Manhattan was so gross 🤮🤮🤮 Will never go back here again! $44 for 2 drinks not even worth it. Bye!

Bartender was awful. She had a terrible attitude. Would not come back

T
Ted Phlegar

The food was wonderful and the service was great but imposing a mandatory tip on any meal is wrong on these points. First, whether to tip and how much is MY domain and preview NOT YOURS. I don’t tell you what to pay your servers (what do you pay them? The legal minimum?). How dare you have the hutzpah to tell me what to tip. That’s MY money and MY prerogative Not Yours. Keep your hands out of my wallet. Digging into your own pocket if you feel like your custom, your servers are not getting paid enough. Second, I am not a deadbeat or reprobate but your mandatory policy screams that is how you see each of us. Don’t bother telling me you don’t intend to send that message, the policy’s existence does that by existing. Third, you screwed the servers because I would have tipped more but was insulted by the policy and made it a point to apologize for only tipping your rate. If you really want to pass your server compensation on to the customers and are too cheap to take care of that yourself, then balk it onto the price and declare a no tipping policy. STOP INSULTING AND INSINUATING YOUR CLIENTELE ARE DEADBEATS

Worse experience I’ve had at an establishment. My boyfriend and I just left this place 45 min ago. We got seated and ordered all our food at once ( apps and entree) from a prefixed menu. We placed the order at 8:20pm. Apps came out at 8:30……… let’s just say I was in my car driving away at 9:30 and only ever had the apps.

A
Alex Farmer

Overpriced, underwhelming hotel restaurant. Automatic 22% charge added to all checks. Including a 4% charge for “fair compensation”? Seriously? You, restaurant, PAY YOUR EMPLOYEES WELL. It is so gross and greedy and vibe ruining to surcharge customers for your basic responsibility as a business. And automatic gratuity for small parties is unacceptable - good tips are for good service. And frankly, one server deserved 25% herself, but another clearly expected that auto-grat because he was rude and inattentive.

We were here Saturday evening July 3, 2021, 9PM. We ordered drinks and food while waiting for our Rooftop Table to come available. There was a particular bartender that was unusually rude and hostile towards us, literally the minute we sat down down. Thinking maybe that there was something happening behind the scenes, we waited out his rudeness thinking that things would get better. Or shall I say that he, the bartender would get better, he didn't. My guest at the table were uncomfortable. Finally, I went to the very friendly Hostess to get an estimated time on when our table would be ready and the hostess asked if everything was okay? I shared with her what we were experiencing, she sent over another server and the server was a breathe of fresh air.

Went for the first time with a group of friends last night. It was not busy. The guy who served us was INSANELY hostile towards us, immediately making us feel unwelcome. He didn't even say anything to us when he brought some water to our table. Then he was practically yelling at my friend for asking what Shock Top tastes like because apparently he has never carried Shock Top and he has no idea where we got the idea he has Shock Top..... but Shock Top is literally listed on their very short beer menu, and when we told him that he didn't even apologize or say anything, just stared at us. My other friend asked about what a couple of their cocktails were like, and he goes "what do you mean, what are they like?" Then after ordering he asks us all for IDs, which is all good, but even doing that was like a tense and hostile energy. He was just rude all night. Not interested in coming back here.

Expensive with a hidden 20% gratuity included on the bill as they did not provide me an itemized check. Got my check wrong 4 times in a row, ultimately had to pay for two drinks separately instead of together. Beautiful decor that is unbecoming of the lackluster quality of drinks and service.

T
Thorough Falyfe

Older asian guy with glasses was very pretentious, rude and obnoxious. He also had selective memory as to when he would go by the book. Curious as to what determines this When my partner had a discrepancy with the strength of the drinks, he was adamant about the precise measurement for each drink. This was pretty acceptable and understandable, I thought to my self. They are by the book and everything is as it should be. Well when my partner then went to order next drink, he was told shift change and would be over an hour wait. Where was the by the book announcement for last call for alcohol!?

D
Dana Nicole

Originally came for the rooftop but my friends got hungry so we came to the lobby bar for some snacks. Literally the WORST service ever. It took over 30 minutes for our snacks and by the time we got everything and finished the rooftop was closed. What should have taken 30 minutes in and out took over an hour and a half…. Super disappointing.

Don't waste your time. This place is horrible. The oyster were spoiled, the drinks were bad. Overall bad experience.

By far the worst experience I have ever had. Sat for 30 min as serves walked past and ignored me.
