Wow! It's better than I expected or imagined. From the moment we walked in, the place is beautiful! 🤩 Staff is friendly, kind, and truly make the experience one to remember. The FOOD delicious at first sight! Vibrant colors full of flavor. Absolutely delicious. My pictures do not do them justice. We will definitely be back!

I celebrated my granddaughter’s 16th birthday here in the penthouse. The atmosphere was lovely, with large floral swags hanging from the ceilings throughout. The food was pricey yet decent. I ordered the chicken and waffles entree. Limited parking on the street; must park in the garage. I paid $29 for parking for 2.5 hours in the garage!!

La Vie exceeded all expectations. The ambiance was a perfect 10/10, and the service matched it. It was warm, attentive, and professional. The food was delicious, and the prices felt very reasonable for the experience. I absolutely loved everything about it, and it truly made my birthday celebration unforgettable.

Amazing service, most delicious food, clean and classy seating position 👌. Had a very swell time with my friends for my birthday. Our waiter (can’t remember his name 🥹) was so sweet. Only thing was the extra charges. Had about an extra $250 service charge aside the taxes don’t know what that was for. Overall I loved it and will definitely come back and refer others

Miguel was absolutely amazing! The tea service was so fantastic and we will be coming back because of his incredible personality and hospitality. His dedication to making us feel at home at this establishment was truly outstanding! 10/10 experience because of Miguel!

Man oh man when I tell u that this place was everything…. I cant even find the words to describe how amazing my wife and I experience was. We came to celebrate our anniversary and were amazed as soon as we got off the elevator. The greeting, the ambience, the table, the drinks and food were all just perfect. I loved the food so much that I made reservations for my birthday next month. I already know what I want. In fact, my mouth is watering for it now. I will warn you that the price tag is a pretty penny🤑💰💵💰 but it is well worth it… So go treat yourself to this amazing experience even if just once….

I went to La Vie for my Birthday brunch and we were seated at the Penthouse which was absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. They were closing their kitchen in 30 min so we quickly reviewed the menu and ordered our drinks, appetizers, and food. The drinks were amazing and tasted so good, the hummus platter was even better and my entire of steak and eggs was absolutely the best steak and eggs I have ever had. Our server was very nice and even tho we were the last ones there he was so nice, didn’t rush us and so kind. Thank you La Vie I can’t wait to come back. 🤍

Big fan of this spot! Peter was awesome! Loved the ceasar salad and Harrisa shrimp together! The lobster risotto was fantastic! The Smash Burger was also delicious! Did I mention that Peter was awesome? Hope to be back to try Brunch.

My husband surprised me with a dinner here last night and it was beautifully romantic. He reserved a igloo and apparently reservations are hard to get on the weekends. Our Hondurean server was attentive, I wish I knew his name. The food and drinks were really good. We had chicken croquettes as an appetizer and then crab crakes and surf and turf for entrees. I had a strawberry lemon drop as cocktail. I would love to come again. Even though it was cold because this restaurant is on the water, the views made it all worth it. The igloos have heaters inside as well. It's definitely worth checking out.

We recently had a fantastic time in Washington, DC, celebrating my cousin’s 40th birthday, and La Vie was the highlight of our festivities. Located in the heart of the city, this upscale restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat and drink experience for around $130 per person, which we found to be quite a good deal given the quality and variety of food and drinks available. Our group of about 20 people was thoroughly impressed with the food. The selection was extensive and every dish we tried was delicious. The ambiance of the restaurant added to the celebration, making it a memorable event for all of us. However, there is one policy at La Vie that could use some reconsideration. Currently, everyone at the table is required to opt for the all-you-can-drink option if anyone chooses it. As someone who isn’t particularly fond of mimosas, I found this a bit restrictive. To accommodate the group’s wishes, I went along with the all-you-can-drink option, but ended up purchasing my own preferred drinks separately, which added to the overall bill. For some in our group who really took advantage of the unlimited drinks, the cost soared to around $250 per person. While I understand the rationale behind the policy, it would be more customer-friendly if La Vie offered more flexibility. Including a broader range of beverages, such as cocktails, in the all-you-can-drink package or allowing individuals to choose their own drink options without affecting the rest of the table would enhance the experience significantly. Overall, despite this minor inconvenience, we had an amazing time at La Vie. The food was great, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect for our celebration. With a few tweaks to their drink policy, La Vie could easily be the go-to spot for large group celebrations in DC.

For the longest time, I had wanted to visit this restaurant @lavie_dc and finally I was able to be there last Sunday. I was highly impressed by the ambience and location and knew that these would be amazing considering it’s set in the Wharf. The set up inside was gorgeous and so was the food! It not only looked beautiful (sometimes too pretty to eat ) but also was scrumptious! It is definitely an upscale restaurant with an “all-you-can-eat” small plate menu and honestly I couldn’t eat all because the small plates aren’t small. They are a good sized portion and you can order to share. The drinks aren’t included but they’re so worth the extra price. We ordered two mocktails and both of those blew our minds!!!! Not to mention, our server was very kind and humorous 😊😇 so they nailed it in the hospitality department as well!

Ambience is amazing, food and service was good, nice it was on mardigra parade day place was super busy. We ordered multiple cocktails with appetizer like Kafta, mediterranean spread and lamb shawrma. Portions are small good for 2 people Kafta : 8/10 Lamb shawrma : 7/10 Mediterranean spread : 8/10 In main course we ordered Lavie Burger Royale : 8/10 good for 2 fries were best Lamb chops : 9/10 Atlantic Salmon : 7/10 House special crab and muscles with rice : 7/10 Harissa Roasted chicken : 7/10 Cresti de gallo (veg) : 7/10 Ambience was great, they offered free champagne since bar was super busy and they all gave small dessert on the house. Overall, worth visiting for the view, ambience and the food

While La Vie has been a round for a couple of years now, I've only been a couple of times. I went recently later in the evening so we were able to make a reservation. The food has a Mediterranean spin on it but from all over the Med, not just eastern or western, and is top quality. The lamb was very soft and mellow flavor. We got the tasting menu at $79 pp, and was five course pp, plus a shared dessert. Highly recommended.

Our favorite place for date night. We went to celebrate my birthday and my husband’s birthday. Tuna tartare, lobster risotto, dessert, … everything was good. Food is nice, view is good, service is good, great place for celebrating and photo… dessert was always a surprise for us. Unfortunately the day we went they ran out of liquid nitrogen but were not told when ordering.. little disappointed. Everything else was just perfect.

I recently celebrated my birthday brunch at La Vie and couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. Although we hit a few bumps in the booking process initially, Bilson and Shamron went above and beyond to make things right, and Heidy stepped in to ensure all of my brunch accommodations were perfectly arranged. On the day of the event, La Vie truly felt magical. The setting was absolutely gorgeous—light-filled, elegant, and the perfect backdrop for a special celebration. Every dish we tried was delicious, beautifully presented, and clearly crafted with care. The team’s attentive, warm service made the experience even more memorable. I’m so grateful to Bilson, Shamron, Heidy, and the entire staff for turning a rocky start into an unforgettable birthday brunch. I highly recommend La Vie for any special occasion—you’ll be in excellent hands!

Love this please. Their brunch is a must but if you can, try to make a reservation for the penthouse (pics below). We celebrated my friends birthday here and our overall experience was phenomenal. Our server James was super awesome and the hostess was so friendly and welcoming. The penthouse has a different menu from the La Vie directly located at the floor below. The penthouse menu is tapa style (small plates). All the food we ordered were flavorful and well prepared. Plus the drinks were just as delicious. A bit pricey but worth it! Plus it’s in the perfect location. Multiple parking garages within close proximity and the restaurant has some amazing views.

La Vie is a beautiful, instagramable restaurant serving delicious food. My friends and I went there per the wish of a birthday girl in the group for brunch and had a STUNNING time. The brunch special stars a fixed price menu with mezze styled dishes for the table at your request, and there is something for everyone. Salads, egg dishes, and lots in between and everything is delicious! Included is a carving station, a crepe station serving both savory and sweet crepes and a seafood station serving shrimp cocktail and others that we didn't even get to! If you are a red meat eater, get the steak and eggs!! The duck pies are delicious, and the truffle Mac and cheese is decadent without being overly pungent. Overall, La Vie is a fresh, high-end culinary experience that I am looking forward to experiencing again.

This is a place you go to if you want to impress someone. We dined here this week and had an amazing experience. Thank you to Heidy from La Vie for helping with our reservation. We reserved an igloo at the penthouse and it was breathtaking. It looked like each igloo was decorated with a different color or theme inside. The heaters do a great job, we didn’t need jackets. The views are amazing. The service was outstanding. The food was delicious. The drinks were great especially the Rouge Sauvage. It was a cocktail with Cognac and it was absolutely delicious. We can’t wait to be back. I highly recommend having this experience at least once if you’re lucky enough to get a reservation.

I went to La Vie for my Besties birthday brunch and it was absolutely marvelous. The food kept coming and everything was delicious — beautifully plated, perfectly seasoned, and truly immaculate. Even dishes you wouldn’t normally choose felt impossible to skip because they looked and tasted so amazing. The waiter and staff were outstanding, and the decor was stunning. Thumbs up all around — I will definitely be back. If you’re in DC, the La Vie location is highly recommended.

La Vie exceeded every expectation and delivered an unforgettable evening. The service was seamless, attentive, and incredibly polished the staff made us feel genuinely cared for from the moment we arrived. Even though we were running late, they were extremely accommodating and gracious, setting the tone for a truly stress free and welcoming experience. The server was very polite he took pictures for me and my husband. The manager was very involved and accommodative. They even provide blankets! We stayed in the igloo with the water view, afterwards I really wanted to sit in the pink one and because it was open they were able to accommodate us! The food was outstanding. The shrimp cocktail was my favorite. My husband devoured the lobster Mac n cheese. They also have the best drinks and dessert. PRESENTATION OF DESSERT IS AMAZING! What truly made the night extraordinary was how special they made my birthday feel. La Vie turned the evening into a celebration I’ll never forget. We had music playing in the igloo through Bluetooth. Heater on blast! If you’re looking for elevated dining, service, and an atmosphere La Vie is a must visit. I cannot recommend this place enough and will absolutely be returning.

I had the most wonderful experience today at La Vie. 4 of us had a delicious brunch in an Igloo at the Penthouse level. 2 heaters, a Bluetooth speaker, comfortable seats and a table, plus gorgeous decorations inside. Our service and food were fabulous. I highly recommend this experience!

Oh my goodness…. We rented an Igloo in the evening. The view was absolutely beautiful. The Igloo itself was gorgeous. Service was amazing. Food was outstanding, and I am a tough customer. I rarely rate anywhere 5 stars, but this restaurant earned it. Worth every penny.

We had such a great NYE here. The food and ambiance exceeded my expectations and the service while slow, as expected for NYE was fantastic. Bubbly servers made an effort to ensure we all enjoyed our night. They even served us complimentary champagne to toast with at midnight. I couldn’t have asked for a better time. I highly recommend this place.

One of go-to spots for Sunday brunch (10+ visits 😩)! Our group usually ranges from 8–12 people, and they always accommodate us (we book a few weeks in advance). Brunch is served in 3–4 courses, with the sweet course consisting of pancakes, waffles, and more—coming last. They offer bottomless mimosas and a well-crafted cocktail menu, plus they’ve recently added a carving station and a self-serve selection of small bites. Plan to spend about 1½ to 2 hours enjoying great food, drinks, and conversation. The multiple portions can be a little overwhelming, but it’s perfect for larger parties. You can also request a repeat of any dish. Can’t wait to check out their igloos this winter!

Anyone who knows me knows that La Vie is one of my favorite brunch spots in DC. It’s located at the Wharf overlooking the water. This place is always busy and reservations go so fast. Don’t wait until the last minute to try and book because it’s hard. Anyways, the service is amazing as expected. The decor is gorgeous. My favorite thing is that the plates are bottomless and served family style. You can literally order anything on the menu as many times are you’d like. I hate that they took the duck carbonara off of the menu. That was my favorite thing. The best thing this visit was the raw bar, the lamb from the carving station and the meatballs. I really am upset that they took my duck carbonara away. The Duck pie was not a good duck substitute. The bottomless mimosas were on the money as well. Our server made sure that they were never empty. Make sure that you dress accordingly. It’s not a casual sneaker place.

This place was great from the first moment you walk through the door with breath taking art. A short trip up the elevator got you to a floor with amazing views of the water front wharf. We had a group of 6 people and our server was so gracious and patient giving us lots of information on fan favorites both drinks and food! The coolest experience was the whiskey drink we ordered and the presentation that came along with it. Looking for a nice place to dine with some thrills, check out this place!

My family were here to celebrate my Birthday and they made it feel really special. Our server and all staff were amazing so friendly and extremely attentive. Restaurant environment is very nice, we took the lots of special pictures, the place which was very generous. Drinks, appetizers and entrees were all amazing. We were extremely full so didn’t not order dessert but they surprised us with a complementary Birthday Cake, Loved it will definitely coming back

My partner and I went here for our anniversary. They treated us like royalty, even though we weren't expecting the special treatment! It was amazing. The food was great and the service was even better. While it's not cheap, it was worth it. I got the lobster risotto and the lobster portion was very generous. Drinks were great too. Highly recommend! PS very accommodating for dietary restrictions

Me and my boyfriend were here to celebrate our anniversary and they made it feel really special. Our server Dalton was amazing so friendly and extremely attentive. He even took us to the balcony to take pictures and gave us a tour of the place which was very generous. Drinks, appetizers and entrees were all amazing. We were extremely full so didn’t not order dessert but they surprised us with a complementary dessert and champagne. Loved it will definitely coming back

The duck and steak were so good ! Servers were outstanding! Such hard workers. We went for brunch ($74 each) and bottomless mimosas ($29) latte was separate ($7). Everything was excellent! I do prefer the brioche French toast down the street at Du Jour. This was such a memorable experience for our last day as a family in DC. Thank you for a great time and wonderful food!

We booked an igloo for a birthday celebration, but unfortunately, there was an event going on, so we were given an igloo at the back. While the overall experience was unique, the igloos were quite small, and we had to walk around to truly enjoy the view. On the positive side, the food was great and halal, which was a big plus! The highlight was the amazing dessert—definitely the best we’ve had so far. However, one major downside was the unexpected cost. Nowhere on the booking details was it mentioned that there is a $99 minimum per person, which was a surprise. Overall, it’s a nice experience to try once, but not something we’d repeat.

Organized a dinner for my mom and her husband in the igloo and the service was fantastic. They made sure my mom was comfortably seated, warm (provided blankets), and well taken care of. The manager and servers were professional, communicative, and came down personally to their restaurant on floor 4.6 to get me when they were done and the tab was ready. My mom was impressed with the food and service and told me they gave them a complimentary dessert. I'm so happy with the service they received!

I made reservations ahead time. Food was amazing. Atmosphere was even excellent. Server was outstanding. Definitely will come back. I took the family there for brunch to celebrate my daughter 25th birthday. She loved the place and the food. 10/10 Just a friendly reminder to make your reservations.

I had a great experience. Max was our server, he did a phenomenal job, creating an experience for us. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. Very efficient, very attentive. Servers like Max make your experience memorable. The food was good. Certain items could have used more salt for example, the lamb shoulder and the beef brisket definitely needed some seasoning. However, the mac & cheese was amazing, the steak and eggs were bomb the bacon and French toast out of this world.

We had the pleasure of dining at La Vie The setting was romantic and Mary at the front desk seated us at the perfect table Our server Abner was personable , professional and made our experience all that much better. The view from the windows are beautiful . The inside decor is pretty. The grilled octopus small plate dish was absolutely tender and incredible a definite must have! Flavors of the rockfish plate blended deliciously. Cocktails were delightful. Highly recommend for small plates and cocktails and ambience. My husband had the moussaka that fell a little bit short of expectations which we did mention to the manager Mauricio who was not quite as personable as the rest of the staff.Definitely worth a visit here for ambiance cocktails , view and appetizers.Ask for Abner!

Servers were very nice and attentive. When we arrived at the host station they had us see the menu before offering a table (felt like “can you afford it?” type of situation). To start we had the seafood mixto, texture was good but didn’t have much flavor. Rosé Sangria for cocktail was good but was expecting more for a $20 cocktail. Mains were delicious, lamb and seafood pasta. View from the restaurant was great, good noise level.

Great experience and atmosphere, but wish I could have changed a few food options as I don't eat over easy eggs. It'd be nice to have a French toast /pancake/bagel option. Other than that, we had a great time. Definitely going to return for dinner.

A great spot with an absolutely beautiful view of the Wharf and the water. There’s even an open rooftop you can head up to, which makes the whole place feel even more special. The décor is amazing honestly, some of it made me laugh in the best way and the overall ambiance is gorgeous, modern, and fun. Everything I ordered was really good, from the drinks to the food, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The whole place feels very high-end, making it a perfect date spot or a brunch-with-the-girls kind of place. Highly recommend!

This review is for the igloos specifically. Very pretty igloos, pretty views-especially during the boat show, heated and the food was 10x better than I was expecting! Everything I got on both trips was delicious and the cotton candy baked Alaska was very fun! Highly recommend for a unique dining experience!

Food was 10/10. I came here hungry after visiting the iSpy museum. I enjoyed the lamb and hummus w/Pita bread and had a tantalizing spicy margarita. The aesthetic is 20/10! Loved it, the staff are amazing, the food was great. The rooftop views were fantastic! I would definitely come back. Wasn’t too happy about the hygiene of the women’s bathroom. For a place like this it should smell better and not be littered with paper towels. That was unpleasant.

R
Renee Abney

Food is overpriced but it’s still good. Drinks are welllll crafted though and they have good options. The bartenders are friendly as well. The service is okay depending on the day. But a very beautiful venue in a great location as well. Parking is expensive down here unless you find street parking.

A Beautiful Dining Experience at Le Vie, DC We had a lovely evening at Le Vie — a perfect spot for sharing family-style plates and savoring thoughtfully prepared dishes. The portions were just right for sharing, allowing us to try a variety of items from the menu. The lobster risotto was a standout, rich and creamy with a generous amount of lobster in each bite. The grilled octopus was perfectly tender with a satisfying char, and the Hamachi crudo was bright and fresh — the glaze on top tied all the flavors together beautifully. Another highlight was the lamb chops — cooked to a tender finish that melted in your mouth and packed with flavor. While the pacing of the meal started strong, we did notice a significant delay with the lamb course. Considering it wasn’t a busy Saturday due to road closures and limited parking from weekend events, it stood out a bit. For dessert, the crème brûlée was wonderfully rich without being overly sweet, with a firmer texture that was just right. The tiramisu had a great flavor, though the top had a heavy dusting of cocoa powder that we had to scrape off to avoid inhaling it with each bite. The mascarpone slightly overwhelmed the ladyfingers — we would’ve loved to see more balance and layering throughout. The view from the restaurant is absolutely beautiful, especially as the sun sets over the pier. The decor and ambiance elevate the space, striking a perfect balance between elegance and comfort — it’s clear that a lot of thought went into creating a stylish, welcoming environment. Service was exceptional — Miguel and his team were attentive and professional, promptly clearing plates and offering excellent menu recommendations. Their attention to detail really elevated the experience. Overall, Le Vie delivers on flavor, atmosphere, and hospitality. A fantastic spot for a special evening out — we look forward to returning soon.

Very nice restaurant. Our waiter was excellent. The food was ok but overpriced Did not like an automatic tip added to the check.

S
Shannon Alfonso

The ambiance was beautiful, the igloos were charming, and the food was excellent. However, the check-in process and overall service fell short of expectations. For the price, the experience should feel elevated from the moment you arrive until you leave. For example, there was no one to greet us when we entered the building. The only open bar was the front bar on the 4.5 floor, where the bartender was fantastic. Once we went upstairs, check-in was disorganized, and we lost approximately 15 minutes of our two-hour reservation due to the delay. Additionally, we ordered a charcuterie board, but some items were missing and we had to ask for them. While our server was polite, the interaction felt impersonal. Overall, while the setting and food were great, the service and organization could be improved to match the premium experience the venue aims to offer.

Overrated !!!!! Cannot stress this enough. For a fine dining experience it seemed like I am having brunch at a fish market . Tiniest tables arranged so close together that you can literally touch the arm of the person at the other table. So crowded, as they want to be able to fit in more and more people. Hidden charges A $72 brunch isnt just that plus taxes. We ordered no alcohol and no drink, yet our bill was $244 !!! For two people And the food , the most lousiest and weird scrambled eggs, extremely , salty as hell penne sausage pasta, Wegmans cocktail shrimps are way better than Lavie’s shrimps. The LaVie omelete has no taste also. Honestly Silver dinner’s food has way more taste than what La Vie is offering . Salads were good but then how bad can a Greek salad be ? Desserts were good but nothing out of the usual. The steaks were just ok. Bluntest steak Knives, one cant even cut through . They gave a butter knife. The waiter seemed flustered and provided zero fine dining experience. The private tables are a joke. They aint private at all, The hall is placed right next to the kitchen and has waiter rushing here and there with food for other tables, loudly talking, yelling even. I cant believe the restaurant is getting away with this. The Carving station another joke. Most of the employed people know very little english and the three people at the carving station knew none . They blank stare at you and ask you - you want this also? You want everything in your crepe? …. Dude I am at a buffet. Yes I want everything in my crepe and yes I want the other item too !! I had so much hopes and was looking forward to LaVie since a long time. What a disappointment it was One more thing. Check in ladies … dead zero smile expressions. Is this what fine dinning is ? People come at the reception to give their name and then you see everyone is gathered at the entrance waiting for these two ladies to take you to your tables. They take such a long time, no Hi , hello, can I take your coat, nothing ! They call your name out like a teacher calling their kindergartners names at recess.

For the Valentine’s Day experience, the only options for champagne and wine were all unnecessarily expensive. Given the price for the suite itself, the meal, and the service tip (in addition to a tip for our server), there should absolutely be more reasonably affordable options for wine/champagne. The appetizers were served room temp, the mac n cheese was very very greasy, and the ruby love dessert was nearly inedible. We did expect to pay extra for drinks, but again, the cheapest champagne being 195 dollars (in addition to the 169 per person fee, the 165 booking fee, and an additional tip on top of a 20% service charge) for sub-par food and service is incredibly disappointing. If I could, I would never have chosen La Vie to celebrate such an important milestone and holiday. The price was not worth the “experience.” Spare yourselves any “penthouse” experiences for the food will be served lukewarm, will taste incredibly mediocre, and include a “suite” with lint covered lights and curtains. We expected phenomenal service and instead got overpriced champagne that we had to refill ourselves, luke warm mediocre food, and unkempt drapes/dirty lights (our lamp died during service, so we ate with only the bright neon light shining in my face). My partner and I were very much looking forward to this dinner. However, we were really disappointed and frankly surprised by the quality of food/service. Unfortunately a very disappointing meal. I highly suggest you choose any other restaurant on the wharf if you want a delicious meal, reasonable prices, and actual service.

My husband and I chose this restaurant to celebrate our civil wedding ceremony, believing it would be a charming and memorable place to enjoy our first dinner as a married couple. We had a reservation for 7:15 p.m. and arrived a few minutes early, at 7:10 p.m., looking forward to a lovely evening. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, the experience was deeply disappointing. Despite having a reservation, we were kept waiting for approximately 30 minutes. When we kindly mentioned that it was our wedding day, rather than receiving congratulations or courtesy, we were met with dismissive and inappropriate remarks that made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome coming from the latinas hosts. What saddened me most was the lack of basic professionalism and hospitality. As fellow Latinos, it was especially upsetting to feel treated with such disregard. Courtesy and warmth are the foundation of any establishment, yet neither was present that evening. The atmosphere was far from what we had anticipated for such a meaningful occasion. We ultimately decided to leave and expressed our intention to report the manner in which we had been treated. Shortly afterward, a manager contacted us, assuring us that the situation would be addressed and offering to make amends with a complimentary dinner and a gift card. Regrettably, those promises were never fulfilled. While the experience was truly upsetting—particularly on a day that should have been filled only with joy—I refused to let it overshadow our celebration. We made a last-minute decision to dine at Mi Vida just for drinks instead but, where we were welcomed warmly, enjoyed a beautiful atmosphere, so we had an excellent meal there. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Professionalism, kindness, and integrity should never be optional—especially on someone’s wedding day. THIS RESTAURANT IS ALL ABOUT APPEARANCES, BUT IT LACKS THE ELEGANCE, RESPECT, AND TRUE CLASS REQUIRED FOR ANY SPECIAL OCCASION.
