Excellent rustic location with wonderful amenities and fine thoughtful staff, a great place to get away and forget the world's insanities, highly recommended

We had such a lovely stay in the King Suite with the jetted tub! The room felt spacious and relaxing, and the jetted tub was definitely a highlight — such a fun and cozy touch for a getaway. We also really enjoyed playing pool and having dinner at the restaurant downstairs. The food was absolutely delicious, and it was so convenient to have such a great dining option right in the hotel. The only small note I’d mention is that the sheets on the bed felt a bit textured — almost towel-like — which wasn’t quite as comfortable as we expected. Not a big issue, just something that could make an otherwise wonderful stay even better! Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely consider staying again! ✨

You will not beat Grand View Inn & Suites customer service & amazing hospitality staff! I'm blown away! Firstly I will mention the kind & compassionate front desk associate Michelle who promptly reserved my children and I a room during the wind storm and power outage that lasted well over 24 hours. She was so sweet and helpful and just her demeanor and personality made us feel right at home & so welcome! Then there was an amazing receptionist that went out of her way to deliver a charger and block for my phone after overhearing my kids and I talking about forgetting ours at home as we rushed out the door. After we checked into our room my son and I went down to get a few drinks from their gift shop and the sweet southern gentleman who was working the evening shift was so kind and provided us with extra blankets in case we got cold during the night with the wind storm and the power outage. We absolutely ended up needing them! As if the hospitality wasn't already incredible enough the front desk associate who came in to work the midnight/early am shift came and opened up the gift shop just for me to be able to grab snacks and little treats for my kiddos even though they were already closed. She was so sweet and we had a wonderful conversation with her as well! My faith in humanity has been restored & I cannot say it enough! GRAND VIEW HIRES FROM THE HEART! They've got that home away from home atmosphere and they were such a blessing to us!

The back parking lot was awesome! We had a huge truck and tow and there was plenty of room. The staff is very friendly. The elevator is sketch but overall great.

Great in town Hotel with a great bar and restaurant on site. If you like playing pool or watching an NFL game, this is the place for you. Another Restaurant right next store. Additional food and shopping options close by the Hotel. Staff are awesome from the Front Desk to the Housekeeping staff. 3 Washers and Dryers in their Laundry room.

Check-in was a breeze, the room is very large with a loveseat area, and the bed is so comfortable! I have my puppy dog with me and my room is “pet friendly”. It’s nice & clean with no odor or anything that would make you think of a kennel! 😁

First time here. Spent time in the bar/grill for a reception. Our server Mallory? Was pretty much a ray of sunshine. That wasn't sarcasm, she really was wonderful. Drinks and apps were superb. Will be back for sure!

We had a little mishap turning into facility, because it sits down off the highway, but easily flipped around to enter the driveway. Front desk staff was ok. Cozy rustic atmosphere. Rooms were clean. Beds and pillows were good. Food and drinks were delicious. Servers were attentive. We had hot wings, fried pickle spears, spicy shrimp soup and a grilled cheese.

Really like the rooms here, very spacious and well appointed. Comfortable beds and BEST PILLOWS! They have MyPillow pillows. Very clean hotel, very clean rooms. Gift Shop is cute. The restaurant downstairs is tasty.

Very friendly and professional staff. Although the building was recently struck by lightning, and caught fire, you would never know it from outward appearances. There is a slight smell of the fire lingering, but nothing threatening or overpowering. The building is sound, inviting, and comfortable. There is a restaurant and bar in the basement, that hosts lit dart boards, along with a Billiard Hall for the pool tournaments. There is also a large conference room for the big parties. The rooms are clean, well kept, and spacious. The view is Beautiful! You can't go wrong staying here.

Great place to stay. Beats Anchorage prices! The staff is wonderful. The wifi is a bit challenging, if you get it to work. The rooms could use some updates such as doors, TVs ( not smart TVs) and new shower curtains. Bathroom door wouldn’t shut and no lock. Room door very thin and could use chain lock. Maybe, remove the tape from the area rug in the entrance??? We did appreciate the microwave and refrigerator. Great restaurant, The Grill.

The room was nice but beds are way to hard for us. Would have been wiser to put the tornado child that was above us on the lower floor. Several complaints later we were finally given another room.

I've been here twice, both times during bad-weather power outages in Wasilla. My rooms were clean and warm. I had Wi-Fi and TV, even when the hotel was running on the generator. Staff seemed nice and helpful. I’ve never eaten at their bar because it's not available while the power is out. A couple small notes: the emergency light in my room didn’t work, and the pipes made some noise when the room above flushed or used water. Nothing major, but something the hotel might want to check. The noise from the wind was surprisingly good considering it was 80–100 mph winds outside.

No on-site breakfast option was the only downfall. Rooms were quite and we'll maintained

Decent restaurant, very nice room, nice staff. Could use one more elevator, but stairs were decent- well lit, wide, and carpeted.

It wasn't bad or great. Very mediocre . Typical roadside place to rest your head. Granted I wasn't in the most expensive room or anything. Wasn't filthy but some things that I noticed but that's just me so wouldn't hold it against them

We thought we were getting a room with a kitchen, but apparently those are reserved for guests that are staying longer than we were and we were only there two nights. We were a bit bummed. The view is beautiful towards the mountains! But the windows might not be very clear and clean to see through. There is a strong smell of commercial fragrance like candles or plugins when you enter and throughout. Perhaps trying to cover the smell of past cigarette smoke? Conveniently located right off the main drag town with a restaurant next to the hotel, we didn't eat there though. They don't seem to have a hypoallergenic/ allergy guest protocol but staying on the third floor and having an air purifier plugged in the whole time definitely seemed to help. There is a little store in the front to buy gifts or gear to help keep you warm and that's nice. I took a few pictures through the clearest spots in the windows.

Anchorage was a terrible place to book a room. Way over priced. This place was an hour away from our job, but more reasonably priced. Your basic no frills hotel room. Wasilla is a nice little town with a fantastic view. I would have rated higher but we arrived around noon and were told that we could not check in until 3p unless we paid $40. We had to work 3rd shift so that time would have been great to rest a bit.

I was initially given a room that hadn't been cleaned, and it was obvious. I was quickly given another room, which was clean, but the couch looked like it was from the 70s. Staff weren't unfriendly, but didn't go out of their way to feel welcoming either. Each morning as I walked by them they would almost seem to avoid making eye-contact with me, and never said as much as "Good morning." Beautiful views from my room and the parking lot, that's for sure!

Things to know before you stay here; 1. Checking in at 12:32 pm, room ready, however they try and charge you an early check in fee, asked twice if this was accurate and same answer from the front desk clerk, yes. 2. Hotel wifi is only guaranteed in the lobby area, but they will give you an ethernet cord, seriously, it's 2024, how many laptops come with a ethernet connection. 3. Hotel vending machines empty the entire week stay. 4. Fitness center not been open for over 3 years, their words not mine, to much maintenance.

The receptionists were nice and helpful. Housekeepers very clean. The room wasn’t bad but not great (we were in the extended stay building). The heat/AC machine were very dirty so every time we turned them on, I felt all the dust in my nose and it smelled like something was burning. Because of the smell, we didn’t turn on the heaters during the night which made us spend cold nights. So, I think they need to work better in the maintenance of the heaters.

This property is knowingly renting out rooms with significant mold growth, seemingly hoping guests won’t notice. I experienced this firsthand and was offered a different room after stepping on a rusty carpet tack strip in the middle of the night — an injury risk that should never happen in a maintained room. Shockingly, the second room had even more mold than the first. At this point, it’s hard not to question whether the property is in blatant violation of multiple health and safety codes. Between the dangerous room conditions and visible mold issues, it feels less like neglect and more like willful disregard for guest health.

Unfortunately my experience was not optimal in the end. We are local residents and enjoy a night away from kids and chaos once in a while. We checked into our room at about 6PM. The gentleman at the reception counter was very friendly and helpful at that point. When it was time to checkout, my husband went to the car as I stopped at the desk to leave the keys for check out. For sake of brevity, a staff member was quick to judgment about our car not belonging to my husband, while he had the keys in his hand and was opening the door, at this point I was right behind them and clarified that it was in fact our vehicle. They were quick to backtrack and rush away, but my husband was a bit upset considering we were paying customers, and I had wrote down my car information and license plate number at check in. When he went back in to talk to someone up front, the formentioned staff member was apologetic. Which is fine and could’ve been a lesson learned, water under the bridge. HOWEVER the (I’m guessing) manager on duty proceeded to come out and yell at my husband while directing him to leave and refusing to let him speak. Essentially treating us like we had done something wrong. We do have this interaction on video. I have requested a follow up contact on a couple of different platforms as there is no direct contact email listed. I hope that this issue will be resolved respectfully as it was a very uncalled for a disrespectful interaction in the end.

Employee Daisy followed me through the building to my car after we checked out assuming I was suspicious asking me as I'm getting in to my car if its really my car. Went to talk to talk to bald lady manager absolutely disrespectful the whole situation. Made me feel uncomfortable as if they looked at me as a thief as I just paid to stay an leave in my own car. The lady following me didnt realize my wife was behind her watching her follow me to the vehicle. Very unprofessional DO NOT STAY AT THIS LOCATION !!!! Have video of situation if needed. Also screamed they are calling the cops for asking about this situation.

Terrible service, false charges, for a so-called pet friendly hotel, they know nothing about dogs. They've lost my family's business.

I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience at this hotel was unacceptable. From the moment I checked in, things went downhill. Niel was very nasty, unhelpful and dismissive. Was even threatened to be physically removed from the lobby if I didn’t “shut my mouth.” I understand that bad days are hard to mask, but he made it very clear that he did not want to be at work today. Unless changes with the staff I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Had a towel with temporary hair die. They charged us $220.00 for a bath towel. We were refunded when stain came out of the towel. But we had to wait 4 days for funds to return to our account. Ridiculous amount for a towel. Thieves. They charge $50 deposit then another $170(=220) for a $3 scratchy white towel. Rooms are less than adequate for the price, better rooms for less money most other places.

Worst hotel experience I have ever had. In our first room, the toilet clogged. I was told I could come get a plunger and that I’d also need to bring it back. There was no maintenance. The toilet ended up overflowing. They moved us to another room, but a king with a pull out bed instead of the double queen I had booked. It was not a big deal until I pulled out the pull out bed and it did not have ANY bedding on it and there was no bedding to be found. So we were moved to a third room. This room was awful, but we made it work. One of the beds was completely ruined. I will attach a photo. I was and am very upset over our stay. We were there for a gymnastics meet. The gym that hosted the meet was WONDERFUL and all of our friends and teammates said that everyone they had encountered in Alaska had been so amazing and nice. Unfortunately I did not have that experience at this hotel. 🙃
