Avis sur Jalisco Restaurant Watsonville
The atmosphere was very good. The decor was nicely done; Not too over the top. It's the type of place where you can eat casually or dress up for a night of fine dining. Staff was quick to seat us, refill drinks and brought out our orders fast while making sure we also didn't run out of their yummy complimentary chips and salsa. Portions are huge! I usually never need a to-go box, but I barely finished half my dish before being completely full. I'd say the overall experience was perfect. Had a great time with my friends and would definitely go back.
Not too fancy but definitely a cut above the 'normal' ... Came for a very lovely (& huge) dinner & came back 2 days later for a game & nachos. I'm only in town 1/year but I will be back. I really love & appreciate that they renovated an old building & gave it new life while preserving the beauty of the old.
if you happen to be in Watsonville this place can be your destination to satisfy your appetite, a big, well decorated restaurant with an amazing menu, I will like to call Mexican fusion cuisine and a full bar some days are busier than others, they have a parking lot in the back of the restaurant.
Good food. We had breakfast. Menudo and omelets. The service was great and the restaurant is really nice.
I felt very welcomed here. The staff was kind and helpful. The food exceeded my expectations.
My wife ate here today and loved it. She had Sopa and it was delicious. The atmosphere was wonderful and inviting. Good parking. I’m looking forward to trying it myself.
Nice place, appropriately decorated. The food was very good, we've been here many times before. Service is always good, and it's a lively place. The restaurant's parking is across the street, always difficult - we always park on the street.
We stopped for a night in Watsonville on our way down to Pismo. We were driving around and googling, looking for a restaurant that was open at 945pm for a meal and drink. We found this place and it was bustling with folks inside. They have a full bar and had a mariachi band right on the floor in front with the patrons, all singing together lol. (The hostess said it is always like this on Fridays) It reeked of Mexican authenticity inside! We go to Mexico at least a couple times a year, so I was happy to find a lot of Latin people inside eating - must be good! I had the crab enchiladas dinner, and he had shrimp tacos. Both were really good. You could really taste the freshness. We had a cadillac and a jalapeño margarita (both doubles), and the Cadillac def had better flavor. All staff was very attentive and pretty quick. If ever in the area again, will def be coming back!
Love eating here. We dont come as often as Id like. But the service and food are always the best in my opinion. Today my hubby brought me for lunch and I tried for the first time a small nacho plate with shredded beef. He ordered the menudo. Both were delicious. I took half of the nachos to go. I was stuffed halfway thru. Plenty of food. Staff was friendly and inviting. The interior decor is beautiful, they have a nice outdoor patio setting if you prefer to eat outdoor. Parking is tight behind restaraunt. They do have parking lot across the street or on Main St.
Three words that sets this restaurant apart: FLAME Broiled Meats! Absolutely recommended as one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area and possibly Northern California. Detailed review follows: We came here because of the good reviews and were very impressed with the vibe, the food quality, the service, and the price (amazing food for reasonable prices. The food options here are fantastic for a Mexican restaurant. They have almost every Mexican dish you can think of. No matter what you order, it comes out perfect. The meats here are char broiled and set this place apart from the competition. I ordered a Chimichanga and the flavor of the fried tortilla was accentuated by the fire flavor of the beef, mixed with the delicious beans and rice. They also have free chips and salsa. Even the chips were freshly fried and crispy. The restaurant setting is wonderful with outdoor covered patio seating and indoor seating. There is an indoor bar as well which serves cocktails, beer, and wine. The restaurant has lots of authentic Mexican decor throughout and really feels special for the area. Parking is nearby and free, we never have trouble finding some. The servers were incredibly friendly, they spoke English and Spanish, and were attentive throughout. If you are traveling by or visiting Watsonville, it’s worth coming here for an accurate Mexican restaurant experience prepared by people know who the cuisine intimately and use quality ingredients.
I’d give it 6 stars if I could. The.best.chile.relleno I have ever had! My husband got the seafood fajitas and said they were also the best fajitas he’s had. The staff was so attentive. They checked on us and filled our waters multiple times. Our server was amazing and answered all our tourist questions about the area. And when we ordered flan to go, he said he’d get us the biggest piece. The atmosphere is beautiful too. 150% would recommend!
I've been on a taqueria kick, but hubby wanted a sit down restaurant so we decided to try Jalisco. Jalisco is a large restaurant with a big patio. It looks like they can host large parties. I was surprised to see how seafood heavy the menu was. I got the scallops, shrimp, and snapper fajitas. The flour tortillas were the absolute best part! They were super hot, nice n' thin, and freshly made. I think they're the best tortillas I've ever had. The flour tortillas are the only reason why I'm giving this place 3 stars instead of 2. The seafood had a nice, mesquite flavor, but I thought it was mainly mediocre. And my husband's seafood molcajete was supposed to come with crab legs, but it didn't! It wasn't until later that the server told us that they were out of crab legs. They should have told us before when we were ordering it or before they made it to see if we wanted something else. The only upsides were that the octopus and the molcajete sauce were yummy. The margaritas were on the much smaller side and only okay. The horchata was better. The salsa that came with the chips was flavorless. I think that's what most of the meal was missing: flavor. Service was super slow, but friendly. Our water and chips were never refilled.
Food was good but the front desk lady is very rude. She wasn't polite didn't have the right attitude to make customers feel welcome. Also parking is hard to find. There's only one lane to go in and out so I don't know how it works. There's only like 10 parking spots at the most. Four stars for the food and 2 stars for the customer service so I give a three stars .
Went there as the reviews were generally positive, but overall was very disappointed. The good: the staff was kind and attentive. The bad: honestly, the food was sub-par at best. My chile verde was way overcooked and served with little-to-no verde sauce. In our party of five only one liked the food (tacos). The cocktails- no discernable alcohol in any of them- margaritas or Palomas. We didn’t finish them. Lastly, we were seated near the kitchen and bussing station and throughout our meal they were dumping dishes and then dragging garbage cans past our table. It was a bit too much and generally I’m not a complainer, but this was beyond unpleasant. Won’t go back for sure.
Tonight, 1/15/25, we had horrible service at this restaurant. Our wait staff didn’t check in on us until 30 minutes after arrival. It was not busy. Several of our food items we ordered were either wrong or did not arrive at all. There were 7 of us. The waiter forgot about us. We had to ask for our check up front. When we let our waiter know about the mix up, he did not say anything, just looked at the bill. When we went to pay up front, the young woman up front just rolled her eyes and said, uh sorry, and was snarky and not kind or helpful at all. Not going back here!
Un flavorful food, and salsa. Slow service, dirty bathroom, and weird parking at the back. Only one small way to enter and exit a tiny few spots. So good luck. Waste of my money and we had to come home and cook again.
