I always have a good meal here. I will never complain when eating here. There is always good food whether breakfast or lunch. I can personally say I have never had dinner here.
Love this place. Have been going here for years. Love the owners! Treat you like family. Great food at really good prices. A must place to visit and have a great meal!
Excellent food, great service. We recently discovered this gem of a diner. Matzo balls are light and yummy. Gyro meat juicy and flavorful. Cheeseburger excellent.
Ordered a Greek salad with grilled chicken through GrubHub, our first time using GrubHub…I know, we’re old. Delivery went very smooth. The salad was fresh and delicious. They have the best yellow Greek salad dressing. Chicken was fresh and moist. Definitely will do it again.
If this place isn't a Landmark, it should be - it's been around since the 1950s. It looks like a classic diner from the outside, but on the inside - it is a pleasant surprise - there are NO glaring, bright lights as usually is the case with most diners - the decor is casually elegant without any pretentiousness, It is clean and cozy. There is a beautiful mural of a lovely villa somewhere on the mediterranean, in the large room, and gorgeous glass - highlighted and etched in pastel colors. The food is based on Greek, Continental and American food, serving hot food for Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch and Dinners and open late every day. They do serve wine and drinks, by the way, but it is also a family place. Terrace Diner served comfort, stick to the ribs kind of food, but they also carry Vegetarian fare as well. Their portions are generous, so there will be leftovers that you will be taking home. Staff is friendly and warm. It is handicap accessible on the inside with an outside ramp for wheelchairs. The rush starts around Lunch time and 6:00pm onward, and parking lot fills up quickly, so there will be a wait, if you show up at those times. It is a busy place, so plan accordingly. Terrance Diner is a local, well-known place that people have been going there for generations. You'll see locals, newbies, Firefighters, EMTs, Police and so many others who love this place, as do I! The food is mostly very good, the soups are SO, SO GOOD - freshly made every day, just what you need on a chilly day. My only complaint is that every once in a while, they should add a little more to the menu - even if it's just seasonal, and make sure that the seafood is freshest they can get. Other than that, it's a great, homey, cozy place to be at any time of the year with good, hearty food and a welcoming, soothing environment. MAKE IT A LANDMARK in West Babylon! 🍇🍗🍓🍉🍔🍒🍖🧀🍞🍄🌽
So it's me Calogero and I've been coming to the Terrace Diner in West Babylon for quite a well and I just want to say Bravo to them... The food is always great and the service is Great. They grant any request you ask and the Owner Achilles is so friendly and the server Cesy is Unbelievable with kindness and professionalism
Excellent local diner, very reasonable prices and tasty home cooked food. Friendly waitstaff, nobody's rushing you to leave... Wish I lived closer, I'd come here more often!
I've been coming here since I was a child before it was renovated (and closed for months) and I have nothing bad to say. The staff is super friendly and the owners are always there to greet you as well. The food is excellent with good portions regardless of the meal. Coming here is always a good bet
ThI freshest food and great service!!! My favorite place to eat..
This place ranks one the best places to have a meal. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You will never be disappointed. The owner, and waitstaff are extremely friendly. And the diner is as clean on the outside, as it is on the inside. They take very good care of this place.
Love my Terrace Family. We moved 10 years ago and my first day we had to go to my daily hotspot for breakfast. We introduced our kids to NY. Achilles, the owner, is one of the best guys I’ve met in my life. A really good dude. I miss the days of sitting at the counter and just BS’ing with him or his Dad. The food is great, the staff are all great, and without question, one of the best diners in NY.
Awesome Diner. Everything is delicious. Wonderful warm staff. A home away from home with great food and reasonable prices. ❤️
Excellent, quick service. Friendly young lady who waited on us at dinner. Had grilled cheese, and fries which are amazing!
I ordered salmon with sweet potato and asparagus it was delicious and then for dessert I had a cup of tea with honey and cinnamon and a dish of blueberries and strawberries with whip cream. Excellent 5stars and 2 thumbs up.
This is an excellent diner. From great coffee, soups, and service to taste, Ive never had a bad meal there. Consistently reliable.Absolutely excellent baked clams to die for. Quiet, friendly, atmosphere and great food. What more could you ask for ?
Classy casual dining experience with quality food to match. Service was attentive and food time was very good. Both Bathroom and restaurant dining room was clean. Very much enjoyed the visit would absolutely go back. Though don’t order two scrambled eggs by themselves - $5.29! Holy chicken must lay golden eggs.
Classic Long Island diner. Tasty French dip. Kids loved the chicken fingers and fries. Service was friendly and attentive. Great cup of coffee. Reasonably priced.
I love the food and the employees. They make you feel like you're family. The food is always fresh and cooked just how I like it. And any specific requests are always taken care of. My kids and I love coming here.
Terrace Diner is a premier Long Island diner. The food is affordable, high quality and delicious. We are always seated quickly and never wait long for food. We are usually in and out in a half hour or so. If you’re looking for quick diner food at a good price and in a clean place terrace is the spot for you
Good food. Service was even better. Loved our server Thania! She was so warm and welcoming. Thank you!
This is my favorite diner on LI. Food is consistently very good (both for adults and kids), friendly staff, clean, efficient. I missed Greek diners when living out of state; these don't exist everywhere and I took that for granted! This is my family's favorite eat out place.
The food was great and the service was first class. We will return for more
Been here multiple times now. The staff is mostly friendly, a bit slow paced in comparison to other places. The food is usually pretty good - again it is diner food so not expecting anything extravagant. The portion sizes seem to vary depending upon the time of day we have gone and day of week/weekend. The atmosphere is bland and quiet but not terrible. Family friendly but they do have a bar. Tables and booths available. Wheelchair access VIA long ramp, however accessible parking is limited. Overall it is a decent experience for a local diner.
Excellent diner. The quality if the cooking is hard to believe. Looks like any million diners I been to before. The service was good and decor looks good. But I think the quality of the French Dip sandwich really pulls the weight. My friend had it too and loved it. My friend had a salad and she liked it very much. Highly recommend. Will be back soon and will try something else to see if their flare is brought on other things as well.
We love this diner. The food is great. Both times we eat here we had Shelly as our waitress. She's the best waitress i ever came across. Everg restaurant should have a Shelly.
This diner is great!! So many diners have closed over the years, hope this one remains part our community for many more years! We enjoy it here.
Local favorite. All the classics plus some specials! Never disappointed.
Food was great, but service was absolutely fantastic. Everyone was kind and courteous. Our server was attentive. Prices are very reasonable. Thank you!
Great food, Good service and this place has been here forever
Well!! Food: very good. I had a BBQ burger with french fries with some other stuff like onions etc. Excellent flavor. I'm a 300 pound guy and I tell you right away when something is not cooked well. I don't have to tell you because you will see it in my face. SERVICE: very good. I don't remember the name of the lady, but, she's very polite and, I have been there already a few times, she takes care a few tables right away at the same time. Never a complaint. And finally PEOPLE: everybody minds his own thing. I haven't seen any disturbing action. On weekdays you will see quite a few workers. Very nice people.
The woman at the counter was sweet and accommodating even as I knew I was being annoying with all my requests. The woman who brought our takeout from the kitchen was equally sweet. The food....delicious and exactly what my husband and I wanted. We will definitely be back.
Grub hub order. Never ate there before. Grilled chicken was great, real meat, grilled perfectly! Greek salad was fresh, beautiful lettuce and cucumbers, great balance of lettuce to cheese. Grilled chicken sandwich on fresh bread, bacon cooked perfect, just enough ranch dressing. I will order again.
Food is great staff is friendly
After Teddy (the owner) died I stopped coming here. Things changed and I didn't like it. My wife and I recently started coming here again and WOW! Seven visits and not a single bad experience yet! The food is always great, the prices are reasonable and the wait staff is A+. My favorite diner in the area hands down.
We are here almost every Sunday morning after church, love our breakfast!! Food is always yummy and staff is very friendly. If you dont see it on the menu they try and make it for you. Sometimes even though they are delicious the french fries need to be swapped out for something else and there is plenty of sides to choose from. Its a great place to catch up with a friend and sit for awhile. Your treated like family.
Love terrace diner. From breakfast to dinner they have delicious food and great service.
Found this place while traveling through NY. When we first pulled in it looked packed and we was worried about the wait. Went in and was seated right away. Waitress came right over and took our order. We ordered the Farmes Omelet. We received our food within 10 minutes or less. It was delicious and the price was reasonable considering it is NY. I would definitely eat here again.
I finally got here, even though I live nearby after moving from NJ recently. Southwest Chic Panini and fish sandwich was real good. Good mash potatoes. Salty, crunchy fries and Coffee was good! Our waitress was nice and pleasant. So ill be going back. Maybe try breakfast next time..
A few days ago, me and a few buddies enjoyed a midday feast here. Jenn greeted us and brought out the chow. She was very upbeat and friendly. We each had a different entree. Mine was called "SOUTHERN FRENCH TOAST"...with strawberries, banana, walnuts, cinnamon, and whipped cream. Even with this amazing combination of tasty ingredients, my favorite part was the French Toast. The creative chef found the perfect balance between soggy and crusty. Wondering why there's no photo? Use your imagination to create your own...then magnify your mind's menu. VOILA!
If you’re looking for a diner that truly makes you feel at home, Terrace Diner is the place to go. This warm, welcoming, family-owned spot treats every guest like part of their own family, and that kind of hospitality is hard to find. The food is absolutely delicious—my favorites are the French dip and the matzo ball soup, which is невероятно flavorful and comforting every time. The staff is amazing, always friendly and attentive, and the portions are more than generous. Great people, wonderful food, and a genuine hometown atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Nice Dinner good attention and Excellent food " # 1 Pancakes" very nice admofier Plicent time with my Mom and Family "
Terrace is the best dinner around! The entire staff and owner are all soo friendly, and the food is always fresh.
I have visited many diners in the city, but the quality of the cuisine at Terrace Diner really makes the difference. Here you don't just come for the atmosphere, you come for the perfect execution of the classics. My analysis of the dishes: • "Fluffy" Pancakes: They are clouds of dough. I ordered the blueberry ones and what I loved is that they use fresh fruit, not artificial syrups. With a little salted butter and maple syrup, they are the ultimate breakfast. 🥞 • Eggs Benedict: The hollandaise sauce was at its fair point of acidity and silliness, without being cut. Perfectly poached eggs (liquid yolk at the first cut) on a well-toasted and crispy English muffin. • The Terrace Burger: A classic diner burger but high. Juicy meat, respected requested term and a brioche bread that lasts well until the last bite. French fries are cut by hand, golden and very crispy. 🍔🍟 • Matzo Ball Soup: If you are looking for something comforting, this soup is "medicine for the soul." The broth is clear and tasty, and the matza ball has the perfect density: firm on the outside and soft on the inside. • Milkshakes: You can't leave without trying the vanilla or chocolate. They are thick, served in the classic metal glass and with a mountain of real whipped cream on top. 🥤 The final touch: Do not ignore the dessert showcase when entering. The New York-style Cheesecake is dense, creamy and with that graham cookie base that melts in the mouth. 🍰 It is the perfect place for those who value well-made food, without pretensions but with quality ingredients. Service of 10 and portions that ensure you don't go out hungry!
Warm and friendly an excellent place to unwind from a busy work day. The hotcakes are delicious and the waitresses are amazing.
Food is delicious and generous portions and came out in a timely fashion
I ordered disco fries last night like the old days were gravy and mozzarella on them. They were delicious.
I frequently judge local diners by their Greek pizza 🍕 and this diner didn't disappoint! I like the cheese nice and crispy 😋, the spinach filling was robust but could've used a little more feta 😉 . I enjoyed this Greek Pizza with a side of marinara and crispy and hot fries 🍟. I had a very pleasant time.
I stopped in on a Friday night, the place was busy. I took a seat at the counter. Water was brought to me right away. I ordered the Southwest Chicken Panini. It was very tasty. I liked the fries onion strips. It gave the sandwich an addition layer of flavor. The sauce was was not to tangy. The meal came with coleslaw, fries, and a deli pickle. I liked the sweet creamy coleslaw. There was a good amount of fries. For dessert I had the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cake. Very tasty and a great way to end the meal. I will come back to the Terrace Diner when I am back in town. I would recommend the diner for your next meal.
Delicious, courteous and fast. Great atmosphere and comfortable seating. Food made to perfection and great coffee. Service was great and it was busy. He man pancakes were the best. Update: I recommend the Vegetable Omelette with square deep fried potatoes and turkey bacon. The rye toast is excellent, as well.
Stopped here after spending the day at Belmont State park nearby. I went because the Google reviews seemed good and honestly, on point! Food was delicious, got the spinach pie and my boyfriend ordered a panini, both were well made and not expensive. Fair pricing for a diner and the service was attentive and friendly. I am glad we stopped here, it's been far too long since I've had a good diner experience and this was just that!
Always great food here! Unfortunately not all the waiters/waitresses are as good as others, but a few of them are on top of everything and make your dining experience very enjoyable. Always my go to diner when I'm looking to enjoy a nice breakfast or lunch out.
Good food, great service, and fair prices. One day they will serve scrapple, however I'm not holding my breath since it's not a Northern breakfast option. :)
The Terrace Diner is a community eating place where you come to get a wide range of food choices. The specials are high quality and never let you down. Cooking temps are to your specs as it should be and service is usually fairly quick.
Very convenient location on Sunrise Highway. Very pretty interior. Beautiful etched glass between the booths. Comfortable seating. I'm no forensic expert but everything looks *very* clean! :) Beer, wine, plus a full selection of liquor. The desserts look yummy - I see chocolate cake, carrot cake, cheesecake, lemon meringue pie, toasted almond, and several pies. Side note: they have fried ravioli on the menu... but they don't have fried ravioli. Girlfriend was in the mood for them tonight. It was a bit of a letdown. And it doesn't sound like they ran out yesterday or earlier today - it sounds like they've stopped offering them. :-( So we started with mozzarella sticks. They were good. Terrible? No. Awesome? No. Good. The tomato sauce that cane with them? Not great. A bit too sweet for me. For dinner I ordered a special - roast 1/2 chicken with apple raisin stuffing, potato (I chose mashed), & vegetable (I chose corn). The chicken was tender and juicy. The mashed and corn were excellent - the mashed tasted like real, homemade mashed potatoes. The gravy was good. The Apple raisin stuffing... yeah, not great. But overall, very tasty. We took a piece of the toasted almond cake to go!! :)
Good diner, personally not a huge fan of the hashbrowns because they are loaded with onions, but my grandfather loves them so it must be subjective. Decent value, you'll pay about the same you would at a chain like Denny's.
Food was good no frills, my plate had hair but I didn't say a thing because I didn't want to spoil for other custumer. Waitress was attentive . Sorry to say it spoiled my appetite and experience.
this diner is firing on all cylinders. the food was great in every way. big juicy burger. good brown gravy, and the best indicator: good Cole slaw and pickle
Second or third time there, enjoyed breakfast immensely. Crispy shredded style hashbrowns, eggs, bacon, rye toast, and some coffee. It's a local fave of some friends, and we always seem to get the same corner booth. The staff are friendly and fairly attentive. Definitely one of the better diners I've hit in a while. thanks
George, one of the servers, is an absolutely amazing guy. So charismatic and really added to my terrace diner experience. Each time I go I request him as my server. Oh and the wings and mozzarella sticks are where it’s at!
Sorry but not Sorry, no pictures because my salad was so good a picture didn't cross my mind. The atmosphere vibe was cool. The hostess warmed us with her smile and the waitress, well she was great and attentive, and at the end of our meal, we had a conversation that left us all with a smile ( myself, my fiance, and the waitress). I pray for blessings along her journey. The food was really good.
It's a diner and one of the only ones left in the area. It's busy. You get service with a smile. I do love the coffee.
Typical LI diner. Went for breakfast, something most dinners can't screw up, other than the service, which was fine. Breakfast menu is very basic. Surprised that they offered hash browns instead of home fries with breakfast plates. Hash browns were slightly underdone and lackluster in flavor but not horrible. Service was excellent!!
A very familiar atmosphere here. I like the seating area with the booth. The food is great, I had tried different dishes. I can't say I have a favorite one. The seafood is pretty good. The food portions are really nice. Eating here gives me the satisfaction of eating healthy dishes at reasonable prices. The staff is very friendly, all of them.
Just had breakfast here. Had the Garden Omelet. It came with hash browns and toast. It was good (but it did need a bit more salt). I also got iced coffee (with a free refill), which came with a separate bottle of creamer. That was even better. And the price was very reasonable. I definitely recommend this place.
Been going here for years, it's always great, big portions well cooked food, rarely ever a problem. Only tip for the owner: Whoever keeps asking if people want to "Tip their to-go girl" needs to explain how often she drops a fiver to the mcdonalds cashier for grabbing their fries behind the counter. That's a pushy way to extort people.
Really nice hosts and servers. Food is mostly great, really wish the offered more than a full wrack option for their ribs and more ravioli than sauce for the lobster ravioli.
A Diner is a Diner is a Diner... most of the time. So what separates the good from the best? Is it the greeting upon arrival, the staff, the atmosphere, the seating, the food? All these things have a cumulative effect but ultimately the food is a biggie that's for sure. Terrace Diner pretty much checks all the boxes! Our meals were good, the Greek Salad with chicken was full of goodies ( olives, tomatoes, red onions, feta, cucumber, peppers stuffed grape leafs) and plenty too, even could share (see pic's). The Swiss Burger and fries was okay, the burger meat didn't seem the best quality(certainly not the wagyu variety) , but it was a craving and hit the spot at the moment. This is what Diners are all about, salads, burgers, fries, soup, coffee breakfast, oh and rice pudding are typical items to order and the Terrace Diner filled the order for us. Try it out and let me know.
This was a good pit stop, waitress was nice and attentive and it wasnt too pricy, fries were great, my only gripe was that i ordered a chicken parm sandwich which the menu says has grilled chicken tenders but instead they put fried breaded tenders in the sandwich, i was hungry as hell and im not into making too much hassle so i just ate it and left, it was good just not exactly what i wanted
Visiting NY for the first time in several years... was looking forward to a good Diner experience. Ordered a Rueben (what else?). Corned Beef was a little tough and bland. Disappointed.
It was a very nice branch surface was very attentive and accurate. The only thing stopping us from getting a higher mark is that our hash Browns were burnt and when we asked to have them replaced we were told that they were not burnt and that we like them done lightly - which is completely inaccurate !
Place has a nice home feel to it and the staff are super friendly. The men are handsome as well so you get some eye candy while your there. Food is delicious. Just the menu has so many options and images that it can get over whelming at times, especially if you don't know what you want.
We went today just for a quick outing with the kids for V-Day. The staff is very friendly for sure & we waited 10 mints. But the NY Strip was bad...it taste like a big hamburger patty. The kids food was good & hubby ordered light. I ordered very simple & my waitress forget half my order although she seemed to have wrote everything down... her service was very poor. & i just became agitated & we wrapped up quickly. Thanks to the management for giving the kids cookies & apologized for the slack. Probably won't go back & we've ordered there before. We live 5 mints away too..
Way too much onion with the hash browns but the eggs and toast were fine .
Is she typical diner it was okay nothing great
Food and waitress are awesome. I kinda got confused when they had a New Orleans burger special sauce, and it was the same sauce for their broccoli bites. I was expecting like a blacken burger and a sauce that had New Orleans flare. Don't get me wrong the burger was really great but as a normal burger. Waitress we had is awesome, we gave her a 20 dollar tip. She really deserved it. What an awesome service. One reason I'm giving this place three stars is because when paying for great food and service, it seemed to be an issue. The cashier gave the appearance, she did not want to be bother by us. When asked where our waitress was so we can give her tip, she was not aware where she was or rather stated that she could be anywhere and it felt she did not care about her whereabouts. It felt we had just bothered the cashier from a conservation. I could be wrong, but a cashier is suppose to multiple task, and handle the front end without any glitch. I don't know. Maybe, if we were lighter in appearance maybe the cashier would not be so rude. I would eat there again, but give my payment to waitress to handle for me, then deal with the cashier.
Waitress was excellent-young girl, thin, a couple of tats and piercings. She was very nice, professional and attentive, a very hard worker. The food I was not impressed with-microwavable bacon that had a maple kinda taste, eggs were flat as was the toast. Coffee just ok.
Typical diner fare/atmosphere. Ordered a BLT and it was fine. Everyone else at my large table seemed more than satisfied with their meal. Service was top notch.
The waitress was nice but should work somewhere else. Got very simple orders wrong. I remembered this place to be so good in the past and 8 of us all got lousy food. Very expensive also. $135 for horrible food. Didn't want to complain because the guy up from seemed grumpy already. Was better to just pay and leave. Will go to peter pan next time instead
I came here because it's my daughter's favorite place and I like their coffee. Today, I came here and they had everyone sitting next to each other without any plastic between them nor social distancing. Steve the waiter understood my concern and moved my daughter and I to another table. Last time I went there, it wasn't like it was today. There were empty tables in between costumers...
I’ve been a visitor of this diner for many, many years. The food has always been great, and service has always been good. As I was taking out and waiting for my food to come out, I noticed a waitress bringing a soda to a table of diners, she dropped a straw out of sight.. proceeded to put the soda on the table, turn around and pick up the straw and then wipe it off with her hand and give it to the diners to use. It was absolutely disgusting and unsanitary. Risking business over the cost of a straw is nervy, I will NOT be coming g back here.
It’s a… diner? I’ve never seen a menu so small. And it’s stuff you can find anywhere. Nothing stands out. Parking is abysmal. So getting in… I honestly went for dinner somewhere else after just getting a salad. Having the food thrown by the waitress across the table…
This was Terrace Diner's last chance, and they blew it! They got our takeout order wrong, and we will not be going back! Update: they invariably get our takeout orders wrong...... this time they put hash browns instead of french fries in our order. Also, the toast was burnt. They also don't seem to understand the difference between well done and rare hamburgers. The French fries are never cooked properly. They also leave ingredients out of the food, and their Greek omlets are lacking enough feta. They don't seem to care about takeout, because if you eat at the diner the food is ok
Saw the reviews and wanted to try this place over my local diner for a change.service was ok but food was not. Half of the food came out cold and items were missing. We waited a bit for the food so im guessing it must have just been sitting there. Wont be back here.bad experience.
Very disappointed to hear about such a negative experience my daughter had there, not the first time. Lara apparently enjoys berating young girls and arguing over orders and slamming down food. A good place to avoid if you can't treat people normally.
If I could give - 0 stars I would. I ordered there speciality burger platter "medium" which came SCHORCHED aka over well done. The burgers appeared as if they had been precooked & reheated with the burnt effect. My friends burger/platter ordered medium as well. Why bother asking how you want them cooked when they were brought over "extra well done" also burnt. Drinks being soda & ice tea. Cup size seemed smaller this time. And an outrageous $3.00 a soda/ice tea. Probably a McDonald's medium if I had to compare. It's a luxury to eat out!! Beyond disappointed & will NEVER be returning here again. Only saw waiter twice to take the order & give out the check. Not a once how is it? Because he apparently knew it was terrible as well since he brought it from the kitchen. Service Horrible sorry but horrible. Been here before several times it was great! Staff was ALL different this time. Makes you wonder why. Again 35. is A LOT OF MONEY PEOPLE CAN'T AFFORD RIGHT NOW FOR BAD FOOD & BAD SERVICE. Sum up the food in 1 word???? U ask? " EDIBLE " NO BETTER THAN THAT & IT'S A NEVER EVER AGAIN!! BUYERS & DINERS alike YOU'VE BEEN WARNED IN ADVANCE. RUN TO THE NEXT, CLOSEST BETTER DINER !! T
I don’t recommend this diner at all! The food and customer service are much to be desired. Upon entering, we received no verbal greeting and were only gestured on where we were to sit and our menu thrown on the table. We came here for breakfast and I ordered pancakes, eggs, and bacon. The eggs and pancakes were meh and the bacon tasted as though it was either cooked in or sitting in days old grease. Without even asking if we were finished, the waitress brought us the check. When I went to pay, the cashier sought to forge my card signature on the receipt. I had to stop him to tell him that I wanted to sign my own receipt. Overall, the food was nasty and the staff discourteous; this diner is neither a place for good food or good service.
I really wanted to like the place. “The dopest diner on LI” More like slow service, mediocre diner on LI. Cheeseburger was decent but the French fries tasted like it was fried with fish. Onion rings were mushy. Bacon was smoked. Overall no good slow service wouldn’t be back.
We have been going to Terrance Diner for more than 20 years and never had any issues. We usually do take out. The man than answered the phone seemed very rude as he was talking to other people while we were placing the order. I get maybe they were busy. When my husband came home I ordered the corned beef Ruben and my husband ordered a cheeseburger. ( I typically order the cheeseburger and it’s always been real good) My Ruben was disgusting bread was soggy, too much sauer Kraut and the corn beef was totally tasteless. I really thought a diner would be better than Arby’s. Boy was I wrong I will stick with a cheeseburger Totally disappointed.
Sat down , no one came up to me for almost 10 minutes. When the waitress came up to me she didn’t introduce herself she just asked if i was ready to order. I didn’t even have a drink yet. So i ordered my drink(Bloody Mary) it was the worst one I’ve ever had. The finally the bus boy brings my water which i should have had in the beginning. Ordered matza ball soup. That was good. Then ordered my breakfast platter. Two eggs scrambled with cheddar cheese, sausage links and home frie. The home fries were literally black, burnt and nasty. Eggs had literally two slices of cheese on top. Who the hell makes scrambled eggs with cheese and slaps two pieces of cheese on top of them? The cheese came right off. It was just gross and I’ll never ever come back here again. Mind you this was my first time.
The service here sucked. The host didn’t say hello or greeted us nicely upon our arrival. Our waitress huffed and puffed when we asked for water instead of soda. Food was cold, like it was left under the heater instead of freshly cooked. The grilled chicken on my salad was hard and chewy. My husbands steak was undercooked and cheese not melted all the way. NOT coming back ever.
It’s a shame to write this review as we loved this diner for many years. The last three takeout orders we received were completely wrong. First time, I understand that mistakes happen. Second time, was shocked and let them know when I went to go pick up what was left behind. Third time, unacceptable and the manager did nothing to make it right. When a business does something wrong, they should offer anything they can to win a customer back, especially one who has been a loyal customer for years. The manager asked us what we wanted him to do and when we said we weren’t coming back again to fix their mistake, they had no other options for us and after saying we aren’t coming back as customers, he said okay and hung up the phone. Really? Maybe you should be more accodomating and willing to fix your mistakes. First time we were charged for a double cheeseburger, received a single. Second time we asked for extra sauce the wrap came completely dry. Third time asked for Manhattan clam chowder, received Matzo Ball. Maybe they can learn a lesson and have someone check the takeout orders before bagging them up. This was even after I checked my order before leaving, seeing everything was finally right and saying “oh the soup must be right, how hard can that be?” Boy was I wrong, and boy do I NOT recommend this diner for the level of service and lackluster way of properly making and bagging take-out orders.
My husband, my mother & I went for a late breakfast last Saturday at the Terrace Diner in West Babylon. We have gone there before. but not very often. That morning a waitress gave my husband a nasty look when we sat down. Three other groups of people were served before us, but no one came to take our order. My husband thinks it was about color. I would like to think that’s not what it was. Nevertheless, we left after about 20 minutes of waiting to place an order & we went to Infinity Diner on 109. That was a lovely experience in contrast to the negative one a the Terrace Diner.
Not a good experience. Waitress was very "rough around the edges". (Slim lady on duty around 6:30 pm Sunday . 2/26/2023). She does not have proper etiquette, "barks" at you when she speaks and comes across as rude (although I don't think she INTENDS to be rude, she just doesn't seem to know how to speak nicely to customers). My roast chicken was bland (no flavor) and I have no idea what this concoction is (see pic attached). It was supposed to be a side of some zucchini dish, but it looks like dog vomit. On top of all of this they charge you about an extra 4% for using your credit or debit card when you check out! I will NOT be back to this diner.
