Had an amazing time at Carvel in West Hempstead! 💯 The staff was exceptional and made my visit even more enjoyable. 👏 Their customer service is on point! Such a clean place and the staff is so attentive and kind. They go above and beyond for their customers. We ordered an ice cream cake for our daughters birthday and we wanted it to follow our “Under the Sea” theme and mesh with the colors of our balloons. When I saw the cake…I was blown away by how amazing it looked. They have outdone themselves and I was complimented by many at the party. Thank you Rose, Mike and to the awesome staff at West Hempstead Carvel for great service and an amazing birthday cake!!!

Very, very clean! All is fresh & good. Soft serve is good but pricey. Buy one get one free sundae on Wednesday is the best value for soft serve at any Carvel. And this location honors free on Wednesday happily.

Great drive up icecream shop with a big selection. Lots of premade items in the freezers. Sundaes available. No seating inside or outside, but you can enjoy your order in your car or take it home. Friendly staff, bright clean kitchen area.

This location reopened Summer of 2021 after repairs from a car that plowed into it a few years ago. Now surrounded by bollards to (hopefully) prevent another car from closing the store again. They added a few new flavors of soft-serve. Better than ever.

So happy this store has reopened after it was nearly destroyed by a drunk driver! Service is always great, and Carvel ice cream is as tasty as always (and this location is certified kosher too!). This has become a weekly stop for my wife and me.

As a member of the law enforcement Correction I stopped to get myself a treat of ice cream and i was pleasantly giving ice cream with a tip of appreciation. Very nice ice cream parlor

I always find all Carvels’ staff friendly, but this location is very friendly and gives nice large portions whereas other locations seem to be a bit stingy with their portions. That is why I often go out of my way when I can to West Hempstead for Carvel. :)

Love our local carvel . Delicious ice cream and very attentive lovely staff . In my household we look forward to ice cream Wednesday buy one get one . We usually get 16 soft serve .

I'm unsure about other locations but this summer 2025 they don't have any dairy free soft serve options.

I always had nothing to say but positive things to say about carvels in West Hempstead I use to take my boys there when they were younger then visit the pound across the street now i take my elderly dad I few months ago I was sooo disappointed on how I was treated I went to carvels one evening about 10pm I normally don’t go there this late but my son and I was in the mood for some ice cream so I drive to the side I was told I had to order at the window I said oh your are close the guy said we are closing and cleaning I will take your order here ok no problem so after I get my ice cream and start to pull away he then unlocks the door and let to caucasian women inside I was so upset to see this I didn’t go back and say anything but I did reach out the next day for a manager finally someone got back to me and then said the manager will review the tape the next day the manager said she was sorry she did see the tape and they had a meeting and she said the next time I come into Carvel’s, there will be a gift card waiting for me. I thought that was very nice. I still feel very uncomfortable about the whole situation. I feel in this day and time we should all be treated fairly and that’s one day I don’t feel like I was treated fairly. We have to do better if these places in our neighborhood want our business I’m just saying. please, everyone if you see something in our area and it’s not right, please post it so others are aware. I went here this evening with my 4 year old who was so excited to see the carousel. We put four quarters in and nothing, so when we went inside with a crying kid I told her it didn’t work and she was like yeah, it doesn’t work and took my money. She had no response and a blank stare. I said, maybe put a sign so families know. No tip for you! We will not be coming back here. Ice cream had minimal toppings, I didn’t ask for a top and they put one on. Overall bad experience. My son complained the strawberry ice cream didnt taste good.

This Carvel location is a cute little spot in my area. My husband and I love to bring our daughter here to put a smile on her face. He needs to be trained on customer service because it seems as if he forgot that this is a customer service job.
