Avis sur Elixir White River Junction
Elixir in White River Junction is an absolute standout. The mussels are truly outstanding—perfectly prepared, deeply flavorful, and easily some of the best I’ve had anywhere. The food overall is modern, creative, and consistently delicious, striking that rare balance of being inventive without feeling overworked. The service is exceptional: attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming, which elevates the entire dining experience. From start to finish, everything felt thoughtful and well executed. Elixir is a must-visit and a real gem in the Upper Valley. I can’t wait to return.
Elixir was a wonderful experience. Our server whose name I can’t recall but was dressed as one of the Louvre robbers was Amazing! He knew the menu super well and shared some fascinating facts about the wines. Service was attentive and professional, food was delicious and atmosphere was lively but not overwhelming. We will be back!
Killed it! Due to my wife currently receiving chemo and having anxiety about going out for her birthday; I made a few requests that I am sure were out of the ordinary for them. They not only honored my requests but went above and beyond. She felt so comfortable and special as a result. She had one of her best nights in some time. Really rolled the red carpet out for her. Thank you for your kindness, understanding, and excellent service.
Very nice restaurant. Made a reservation for six. Shortly after we arrived, the room was full. Very busy. And the bar seats were full also. We started with a few apps and a drink. Service was good. Then dinner came. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. Don't stop there. Dessert was just as good. We had a good time with a good meal at a good restaurant with good service. I would recommend on any night that I am not there. I don't want to wait for a table.
It was a good dining experience! Tony—our server, was very attentive and professional. Parking wasn’t too much of an issue, and the location was easy to find. Love the food, duck confit strudel was the highlight of the meal. A nice 3 course dinner, I left as a happy customer :) Will be coming back!
We had a really good time at Elixir restaurant in WRJ VT tonight. The menu had several starter options and two pages of dinner entree options. I had a difficult time deciding what to order because everything sounded yummy. Our waiter was very informative and super friendly. He was able to share some great details about individual menu options such as how something is made, the flavor profile, the quality , etc.. He asked questions about our preferences and was very attentive. He made us feel like our experience and satisfaction mattered. The food was so delicious! We started with the coconut curry mussels. They were cooked perfectly and the coconut curry broth was well balanced and loaded with flavor. The mussels were served with a nice local bread that held up well for soaking up the broth. I ordered the Island Farro Salmon and my date ordered the Shrimp Scampi. Both dishes were seasoned well and cooked perfectly. I was also surprised how quickly our food was served. The portions were perfect size too - not too little nor too much food. We both finished our plates and were satisfied but decided to split a dessert because they have bananas foster bread pudding with a rum caramel sauce. It was served with their own homemade vanilla ice cream. Sooo yummy!! A must try! We were also impressed at the waiter wiping the crumbs off our table after our dinner and before dessert. The atmosphere is relaxed.
The restaurant has a lot of space with large dining area and a smaller room with several tables. We dined in the smaller room and found it much quieter and more private experience compared to the main area. We ordered duck confit bruschetta as an appetizer and cod cakes and short ribs as our mains. All dishes were really good! I was a little hesitant about ordering the cod cakes because it is deep fried. However, there was no sign of greasiness or overcooking in the dish. Juicy and tender - this is how i would describe them. The portions were large enough and we were too full to have a dessert. If you are planning to dine with kids, the kids menu is not listed on the website. However, the restaurant offers 3 kids options: pasta with butter, pasta with red sauce, and chicken tenders with french fries. My daughter had pasta and butter and said it was good.
What a great spot in White River Junction! Delicious food and lovely ambiance. This is clearly the place to be on a Friday night but they had seating at the bar and we were able to sit even without a reservation. The food was seasonal and delicious - ordered the beef short ribs and the steak. Can’t wait to go back and try more!
The atmosphere was cozy yet elevated, and looks like a great date spot. The menu looks like it is ever changing but always has a great variety with many creative seafood menu items (mussels in a coconut-red curry sauce, Atlantic cod cakes, and seared Faroe island salmon). We ate at the bar and the service was perfect, and the drink was strong and tasty. I can’t believe it took me so long to come here for dinner OR drinks!
Stopped here on a recommendation. This place is amazing! The atmosphere is warm, cozy and inviting. Feels very comfortable when you walk in. The staff was both friendly and attentive, they pay attention to the details which make the dining experience all the better. Finally THE FOOD....wow! Everything was delicious, but I especially loved the mussels. You can't go wrong at this place and I highly recommend it if you are in the area.
We were next door at River Roost brewery and got hungry. We walk in and this place looks like it's very upscale. We find a seat at the bar and the friendly bartender brings us some menus. It's here that we realized how good the place was because everything was really affordable. We ordered the truffle fries, duck confit tart (sooooo good!), elixir salad, and shrimp scampi. Everything was top notch and service was fast. The total bill incl drinks ended up being under $70. They have a rotating tap list with local VT brews as well.
Don't let the outside fool you, this place is incredible. The food is top notch and the wine choices are very good. I had the filet with mashed potatoes and beans. It was the best filet mignon I've ever had. My wife had the salmon which was equally amazing. We split the mussels. I'm not a seafood guy, but these were amazing. Do yourself a favor and splurge on a 3 course meal here
Service was wonderful and accommodating Food needed slight adjustments to really elevate the dishes. The mussels were great but the porkchop was over cooked. It still had nice flavor but unfortunately was not cooked the best. It's a great venue for nice nights out but I wouldn't recommend for the food snobs.
We were traveling from Tempe, AZ to our 2nd home in Windsor, VT for Christmas week. We were going to have a special dinner with a dear friend from the Hanover, NH area. She made this reservation for Friday night, the 22nd. Loved the restaurant atmosphere... really felt like I was somewhere special. Since I like to try craft beers made in the area that I am visiting, I ordered a Von Trapp Ale… it was quite good. The other 3 ordered wine & cocktails. Fresh baked bread & dipping oil was brought to the table for all to enjoy. Our guest had a starter salad… us other 3 had the ‘special’ Cream of Broccoli Soup. The soup tasted like it had been made by the gods! Fine dining indeed! Entrees were ordered (see photos) and words like incredible, phenomenal, superb were tossed around the table. All loved their main entrees.. but me. At the last minute I changed from a special pasta dish to the Pork Schnitzel w/ Red Pepper Spaetzle. Love German cuisine so I made the change. The Pork Cutlets were dry & over-cooked. Spaetzle was dry, hard, & crunchy. Turnip Mash & Greens were great. I’d like to think that if I went back and ordered the same dish over again the results would be different. Desserts (see photos) were mind blowing! My wife commented that she never felt rushed and we had a long and pleasant visit with our friend. Special Note: Leigh Whitten was our server… he was pleasant, helpful, and attentive without being invasive.
