Amazing food and service. They were training a new server today and you could tell the veteran staff was instilling quality service in them. Love it!

Ballantine is such a great place! Super friendly staff and super clean look. Think modern steam punk, which is fantastic! Drinks and food were very good and everything was fair priced compared to the other restaurants on the strip in downtown Willoughby. We were surprised it wasn't busier but were very happy with the window table we were at. Will definitely be going back soon!

Great bartenders, $3 draft beer Wednesdays

It was the perfect place to ring in the New Year! They never seemed stressed.

This was my first time. I love the environment it was nice and relaxing. I was greeted with such warmth like I was expected. The waitress was polite, friendly, patient and efficient. I met my girlfriends 7 of us. The food was great, I ordered the spicy wings and the pizza, it was just right thin crust . All 7 of us had our own. I would definitely come back and recommend it to my family and friends

I hope the owner sees my post here. I wanted to publicly thank him for paying for my food last night. When my so called date, walked out on me and refused to pay for my food, like a proper gentleman does for a woman.. he asks out for a date. It was above and beyond great customer service and it was such a kind thing to do for a stranger he never met before. I always love coming to your restaurant, the atmosphere is wonderful and all of your servers are wonderful people as well. They felt bad, he treated me this way and offered me moral support. I thank them to as well. Thank you again..

Yummy food options and although I didn't have a cocktail the drink menu and wine list looked amazing. Our server was awesome even for our large party of 17! Would definitely go back! I had a house salad with salmon and the salmon was cooked to perfection, salad greens were fresh and crisp. Loved it

The Honey Sriracha Brussels sprouts ARE AMAZING! Emily or waitress was very friendly and service from everyone else was great. Highly recommend place to eat there. Pizza was thin and very tasty.

Super-big this place. Great atmosphere, pleasant servers, wide variety of worldwide beers, food is spot on delicious. Best part is, arrive before 6:30p and they have happy hour specials. Four of us just ate (2 had burgers & 2 had single topping pizzas, plus 4 beers (pints) for a total of $37!! Just love this place.

We loved everything about this place, the food was amazing and plentiful, the service was phenomenal and the atmosphere was very pleasant! We enjoyed our date for sure!

I love going here. Everyone is friendly, the food is great and they have a wide variety of beer. I’ve never been to Ballantine and had a bad experience, unlike that tome at camp with my uncle. Overall it has a nice ambiance and it’s clean and welcoming. Great happy hour pricing. It does puzzle me why some folks come to a craft beer bar and order a bud light...weird.

Great restaurant with wonderful staff! The food and especially the signature cocktails were delicious. My friend and I had the sweetest waitress and the atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable. Definitely recommend!

Stopped in on a Saturday never having been here before. It was amazing. Great food, great service and great vibes. We had the Brussels sprouts, the truffle fries and a pizza. Everything was really generous portions and delicious.

Great bar atmosphere! We came in for pizza week and the figgy pizza was delicious and so were the wings! Great list of draft beers too! The staff and service was exceptional as well.

Waitress was really friendly and provided great service. Food took about 45 mins to come out and there was no one in the place. Food was pretty good 👍🏼

Good local tavern with a popular bar and small but good menu. Getting a seat by the front windows gives you a nice view of the world walking by. The service was prompt and friendly. The small pepperoni pizza had a nice thin crust and plenty of pepperoni. The burger was juicy and done just as I requested. Good stop for a quick bite on the busy Downtown Willoughby strip.

Stopped here on a whim. Food was good and the experience overall was worth another visit.

First time here. Service was good, but a little slow although there were very few tables taken besides ours. Strip steak was prepared a perfect medium as requested and the short rib pasta was very good. Stuffed avocados and meatballs were very good appetizers as well. Prices were fair and we'll be back!

Food is always delicious but we still miss your sushi and the Sake To Me filets app. 😅

We went here looking to try somewhere new and it ended up being a great decision. I ordered the rack of lamb and it tasted amazing, the sauce that accompanied it was a nice touch. My friend ordered the filet which was seasoned to perfect and the white barbecue sauce was so frickin good. We wanted to offer kudos to the chef for a meal very well prepared. Our sides were the herb parmesan fries and artichoke were very good as well. We will definitely visit again

My first visit to Ballantine we went for Nagroni week. Have to say I was impressed. Casual dining, nice atmosphere the. Windows along the wall make you feel connected to all the activity going on East Street. The food and the speciality cocktails were great. I’d good back here anytime.

Service was excellent.. chicken was a little tough and the polenta was weird.. like a paste. The live Music was awesome and great beer selection

Ballantine has good food and a very eclectic menu. The service was great, and the alcohol selections are super unique. I'd love to spend time in future trying all of the unusual spirits. The menu was slightly confusing because it has options that are all over the place in style. However, the burger and fries I had were amazing and I would definitely go back. Skip the southwest eggrolls though.

Really great pizza great drinks pleasant atmosphere

First time here. It's a nice little spot to eat we had the pizza which was good the middle could of had a little less flop but the flavor was there. Also had the mojito which was great all in all it was worth it. The servers were also nice and attentive.

One of my favorite places to go! You may choose a Very nice private booth when you just need a nice get-away with a close friend. Gourmet cousine, nice wine selection, pleasant service. Moderately priced. This is not a loud place, which really is great for conversation. Great place to celebrate a special occasion!

Nice, open bar & restaurant in the heart of DTW. Excellent selection of tap beers that change with the seasons. On warm days the large front windows open to the outdoors and give the feeling of a sidewalk cafe. Limited menu but everything on it is expertly made and delicious. Great service, too. Never had a long wait to get a drink due to the attentive, regular bar staff. Try it out!

Was here a couple months ago and asked if they would be expanding their menu- were told yes, this summer. Well the menu is still very limited and hasn't changed. I miss the prior to 2020 Ballantines. It's a shame because their food used to be so good and it was always packed. Also, you can smell the sewers as soon as you walk through the door. Huge turn off to diners.

Hadn't been here for some time. I used to enjoy the happy hour on Friday. Very limited menu, if there were specials we weren't told about them. Bartender was polite, service was slow. Not busy. We had one drink then went to the wild goose across the street where it was crowded, lively and much funner atmosphere.

Food was good. Bar service could have been a little better. Update 10-26-2019: horrible bar tender(s). Felt completely ignored! One bartender was the same as last time. Not sure how she stays employed there. Spent more time looking at herself in the mirror. Second bartender was just as rude. We paid $4 for pepperoni and banana peppers on our pizza. See picture. Didn't want to complain because it was hard just to get our bill. Will never go back.

Way over priced. $30 for a small pizza and 6 garlic knots. Food was okay. Hostess was friendly.

Booked far in advance for a booth. Sat at the uncomfortable high top in the corner with a tiny table. Didn't ask us if we wanted to wait for a booth. Literally said,"I know you booked a booth, but all we have for you is a high top." Appetizers were mediocre, entree was delicious though. Service was okay. Cocktail menu was not impressive. Also, how is this a steakhouse?

Staff was good and polite. I noticed a non-server helping a table get something they requested and putting in some thought to it. Food was average at best. Went for their clam bake. Food was cold and overpriced. Chowder had broken but nobody cared.

Worst food worst service ever! Do not eat here. I ordered pink and bloody and got burnt. Avoid this place for company dinners! When the check arrived they gave us a generous amount off. That was nice, but everything else was bad. Beer selection is great.

Hello everyone, im a local paralegal who moved up to ohio from south carolina. im 27 years old, and have a full mustache (youll see why i said this in a moment). i attempted to stop in to ballantine with friends on October 25th, 2024 and was greeted by a bouncer upon entry. once giving him my out of state license that cleary states im pushing 30 years young, he began to bend my ID, and take a flashlight to it. this prompted me to let this middle aged gentleman know that im a grown man, who is a parelegal at a downtown law firm. somehow this trigged the bouncer, and in front of an entire group of friends, he absolutely exploded on me, getting nose to nose with me, and being absurdly aggressive. i let what seemed to be the head bartender know what happened, watched her the entire rest of the night. and she didnt do a thing. obviously me nor anyone i showed up with spent a dime. CLEVELAND, stay away from this bar!! i will give anyone plenty of nicer suggestions to go to. besides the younger crowd of employees who clearly are children working for school, the remaining staff are LOSERS, who will work in a bar the rest of their lives! have a better day CLEVELAND

Security guy was really jumpy and looked abnormal. He was enjoying the little power he was given and refused service to 17 ladies who were all over 40. Big loss for the business and embarrassment for the clients. Used to come often to this place but will find a better one until the manager find a more respectful stuff. Manager could handle the situation better as well.

Security is very rude at this place especially the bold guy. Manager fails to train his stuff to be respectful to the clients. Avoid this place if you dont want to be treated as trash.

denied my real ID, if they don’t know how to ID a michigan ID thats from less than 4 hours away i think thats really pathetic and im sure they let in fake ohio ID’s had a 10+ group ready to pay and didnt even try to scan it

I went to balentines last night with my friends from out of town. I’ve been there so many times and had an okay time. Last night i tried to get in but the little older man working door had some issues. He touched my friends butt, and was extremely vulgar with her. The food was mid. Bathrooms are disgustingly dirty. I’ll be nice and say the food is mid. Next time just go next door to 1899 much better vibes overall. I wouldn’t even waste time going in.

The drinks are over priced along with waiting minimum 10 minutes (if they're busy) to get to even order a drink plus another 10 to 20 to get it. If you're a guy they have a dress code for you so no cut offs, sleeveless shirts, flip flops or boots. In summary, they're a fake upper class bar with over priced drinks and a bad attitude. The only redemption for them is their heavy pours and the DJ, I'd recommend the garage bar over this place any day.
