Very nice Pub, with excellent Sunday roasts. Friendly staff and management and good bar service. There are plenty of parking spaces available. A nice place for the whole family.

The food we had here was delicious and the portion sizes were very good! We ate some nibbles and then some mains. I would highly recommend this pub. The service was excellent - unfortunately, a member of my family had a medical emergency at the end of our meal and the staff dealt with the situation extremely quickly, considerately and professionally. My family and I are very grateful for their help.

Friendly staff and delicious food, not just the typical pub taste, but something different. Loved it. 🤩I will come back.

Visited the Bird in Hand last night for our regular Friday night dinner treat. As usual the food was prepared and cooked beautifully plus nicely presented. There was a big party in last night. So often 2’s and 4’s get left behind in those circumstances but not in the Bird in Hand. We had our food brought out in a timely fashion just like always. No wonder they win awards.

Great place to go for a bite to eat and a catch up. ☕️ I loved the interior, I noticed the fire straight away!🔥🙈 It was so cozy and warm in there (which I loved) The food was very tasty and the presentation of it was brilliant!! You can tell everyone goes the extra mile here to make everyone’s day. The staff were lovely, very polite and friendly!🥰 Will definitely be back and recommending this place to everyone! Only thing I’d say is maybe they could do with a few more veggie options. Other than that I’d say it’s perfect!

Starters and lunch. Saturday 7th February 2026. Very nice atmosphere, staff were friendly and professional, food came quickly, very nicely presented and tasted delicious. 5/5 for everything - well done and thank you we had a lovely time. We would definately come here again.

This review is long overdue! After spending a significant amount of time searching for a spot to enjoy a pub meal at an establishment with good vegetarian options, I stumbled upon this place. It did not disappoint. The staff were lovely, the food was fresh and delicious and I absolutely loved the vibe of this place. It’s so rare to find spacious dining. This meal felt private and the table could perfectly fit on everything we ordered. Trust me when I say, there was a lot of food involved. The Camembert sharing platter was definitely the star. The jams were divine. Personally, I would save this place for a special occasion because it deserves that ode. But I think they do live music so don’t limit your visits to birthdays and anniversaries if that’s what you enjoy!

Really busy Sunday before Christmas. The roast beef was amazing, everyone loved their food. We sat in the bar area, staff were friendly and hard working, puddings were outstanding. 10/10 would definitely recommend.

Glad I did my research and chose this pub for a late lunch as it was fantastic, staff were attentive and friendly and the food was very good quality and well cooked. Surprisingly good value for the standard of food, most places charging more than this for standard pub grub but this was restaurant quality. I was looking forward to trying the caramelised banana split and it did not disappoint. Will definitely go back 5 stars

Bird In Hand is a perfect pub experience whether you want a drink in the bar or dining in the restaurant. It’s a very pretty pub. You can tell the people there really take care to provide a great experience and have worked really hard to reach the level they are at. We had Sunday lunch today.. everything perfectly cooked and proper British Pub fair. Great service and bustling atmosphere.

We have been here a few times now. We starting coming in the summer,sitting in the garden which is lovely! Lovely to see the dogs too. Recently we came in January for my Husbands birthday. Lovely indoor setting,plenty of room and with a gorgeous log fire. A few dogs came in which was so lovely to see and stroke! The food was amazing,great portions and the staff were friendly. Definitely one of our pubs to keep coming back to 🥰

What a lovely experience my family and I had there, we had some of the best service you could ask for from the whole staff. The starters we each had was excellent with the main course being amazing definitely a place to sit down with your family in the restaurant or a casual pint in the bar.

We had a brilliant Sunday Roast here today for my birthday. The reservation was easy to make on the website. The staff were fantastic from start to end, really attentive and there was a lovely relaxed vibe. I enjoyed the Roast Chicken and the others in my party demolished the beef and lamb. The nutmeg and thyme in the yorkshire puddings was amazing! Thank you especially for the little extra with my birthday dessert! We'll be back 😁

Excellent attention by the staff, good food and the main course was served in a hot or warm dish (cold dishes or plates are a 'no, no' for me). Very good value and even though I didn't broadcast it, the staff knew it was my birthday and provided a dessert for me free. All in all, a very good experience

Lovely evening meal at The Bird in Hand recently. The staff were so friendly and the restaurant had a great atmosphere on a Friday night. They also run a cocktail happy hour until 7pm which was great! The food was delicious, in particular the sausage and mash which was full of flavour and used really high quality ingredients. We will definitely be back!

Ate at the pub today - first time. The staff were incredibly friendly, the garden area was lovely, the food was delicious (chorizo wrap, patatas bravas & a side salad) and the prices were reasonable. Will definitely return when in the area. A very worthy 5 stars!

Amazing pub food...came here for ex colleague leaving do, over 30 of us and all food came out at the same time and hot. Lovely presentation, taste was spot on and staff were very friendly. Would definitely recommend this place.

Lovely pub just outside Woking's city centre. Very nice atmosphere, both inside and in the garden. We didn't make a reservation, but we've been given a table in a second (I would suggests to do it, though). The food is great, tasty and fresh. Had a ribeye, super well cooked. Well done to the staff! I'll definitely come back!

Food was amazingly good. If you are here I recommend fish and chips and the bird in hand burger with chips! For dessert you cannot miss the sticky toffee. 100% recommended!

We had another brilliant meal at the Bird in Hand tonight. It was a special family anniversary celebration and they worked really hard to make it a wonderful occasion. Thank you in particular to our server Camilla who was thoughtful, careful (we are a family with allergies) and friendly. However I would say all the staff were fab, I know the kitchen staff worked hard to produce a special pudding for the anniversary couple. We will definitely visit again!

Top class pub, great selection of drinks and brilliant food. Also like how the low/zero alcohol beers are so reasonably priced.

Third visit in 2 months –fantastic each time! The food is wonderful, with fresh ingredients cooked and presented to perfection. The staff are friendly, attentive without being intrusive, and knowledgeable about the food and its preparation. The restaurant is quite spacious, and the atmosphere has been great each time. The outstanding feature of this pub restaurant for us is the degree to which it is coeliac-friendly. We booked on-line and noted then that one of us has coeliac disease, and on arrival as we were seated at our table, the member of staff discreetly asked which of us was coeliac, and stated that although there are many menu choices labelled gluten free, many more of their dishes can be prepared in a gluten- free manner as everything is prepared to order. When we placed our order, we commented on how much more confident we are eating here, coeliac-wise, compared with other establishments, as all the waiting staff are so switched on to it. We were then told that kitchen staff are also really aware and that orders that need to be gluten-free are prepared in a separate area, with dedicated colour-coded implements and utensils to avoid cross-contamination. It is clearly taken as seriously as it needs to be. I imagine they deal with allergies in the same impressive way. Whilst these measures are unnecessary for most people, everyone can take note of the level of care taken to prepare and serve the delicious food. Highly recommended!

That was a nice meal out! The 28-day dry-aged fillet and fries were good, and so were the starters: hummus, padrón peppers (salty but so good!), and calamari. Had some Bura Moretaine and non-alcoholic gin too. It all went down well. It was busy, but there was plenty of service and space. Not too noisy either. It wasn't super cozy, but it totally made up for it in quality and service.

Lovely food with great Gluten-Free options. Unfortunately, our visit was a little noisy, really just due to one loud table. Imagine it is nice out in the garden in the summertime.

Nice airy pub. Session American Pale was good. Not very busy on a Wednesday. Cauliflower ‘Pakora’ - not exactly bursting with Indian flavours but tasty and pretty enough for pub food. Burger had a nice beefy patty and the fries (Koffman potatoes) were crispy and seasoned well. However the bun was really overly dry and crusty. Dunno what happened there but not sending back because overall it was tasty and I was in the mood for a quick burger. Friendly service, really an option for a lunch when in the area.

I have eaten many times in the Bird in Hand with both family and friends and would normally recommend it. We had dinner there on Tuesday evening and the service was a little odd. Our waitress was so curt, that she came across as rude. I’m unclear why as our food was good and we had no complaints. Don’t let the standard slip Bird in Hand - it’s normally a pleasure to dine with you.

Nice place to meet friends and have a lovely dining experience, it has great WiFi connection which seemed to be lacking in the area. The service was spot on and very friendly and helpful. The food was tasty, l just had Fish and chips since it's Friday

£52 for two starters which were huge and tasty, followed by two beautiful mains. Steak was cooked to perfection and was so easy to cut whilst the duck leg was amazing. Drinks on the side as well made this a surprisingly inexpensive meal for two. My only issue was the relentless fruit flies that hovered around our table! Note: We were sitting in the bar area

The outside area is really nice. Was with my family. The roast beef was really nice, and so was the seafood platter. However, my burger was very raw.

Stopped in for a couple of pints. Very nice pub with a large outdoor seating area. The staff were very nice and attentive. Would like to come back for a meal.

Food was not great. The fritter starter was certified which it didn’t mention, couldn’t taste the aubergine or courgette, tasted like a bhaji. The burger was loaded with salad stuff, raw onion (should’ve been grilled) and thin burger which was tasteless. Fries were v greasy and no rosemary as described on menu. I ordered a brownie to get rid of onion taste. It was more chocolate sauce than brownie. Overall, good not great. Whilst sat at drinks table no one came to clear glasses from previous users. I took about 6 empty glasses to the bar staff and not even a thank you (for doing his job). Otherwise staff were quite friendly.

Been here many times, tonight came in with an 8pm booking, not informed that kitchen closed at 9pm therefore no desert, very disappointing as my favourite part of meal. Would definitely think about returning.

As one of our part is Celiac, I did my research, found this place well reviewed AND Gluten Free ... with for example, a customer review from just two weeks ago saying : " the member of staff discreetly asked which of us was coeliac, and stated that although there are many menu choices labelled gluten free, many more of their dishes can be prepared in a gluten- free manner as everything is prepared to order." And noted that the menu also clearly states Roasts are available Gluten Free (see Photo) with both Yorkshire Pudding and Cauliflower Cheese listed under this heading. On the day however (Sunday 21st Sep) ; we are told that the Yorkshire Pudding AND the Cauliflower Cheese is in fact NOT available Gluten Free and can not be made to order ?!?! As she was the Birthday Girl and looking forward to said items in particular this was very disapointing. At the very least - be more specific about your menu options and clarify your menu please! (Perhaps you could include alternative menus on your website?)
