Great service as soon as we walked into the door and the staff were very friendly and lovely all throughout the meal. The mozzarella stick and the o.g chicken burger were cooked to perfection, were really juicy and tender and not over cooked at all. Overall a great experience from the staff especially Rachel, and will definitely be coming back here next time I am around the area.

I found Clucking Oinks completely by chance via Google Maps, looked at their website which asked “what came first, fried chicken or Hip Hop?” and I was sold! It did not disappoint! The staff were incredibly friendly. The venue is small, so I’d recommend booking. The atmosphere is modern but cosy. We had the Giant Mozzy Stick which still has me salivating as I think about it! Their chicken burgers are incredible; so crispy and so tasty. The fries were delicious too. I loved every bite and I’ll be back next time I’m in York!

Hands down the best food I’ve ever tasted! Had the giant mozzarella stick and OG chicken burger and it was amazing! Rachel was also brilliant and made me feel welcomed overall a brilliant experience and definitely will be coming back on my next York visit. I highly recommend everyone to come here.

Awesome food. Managed to persuade my son to go here after he wanted to go KFC. He likes to stick to what he knows but he was glad we gave this place a try instead. Never seen him eat so quick and he's a fussy eater! The free wings were some of the best I've had.

Probably the best chicken burger I've ever had?! The food was great, the service was fantastic and the atmosphere was pretty cool. This spot is also surprising very child friendly. They provided pencils and colouring-in for my toddler immediately upon arrival. As well as having a decent childrens menu, there was a changing table up in the bathrooms which is so rare these days, so I was very appreciative of that. The service was fast and there was also complimentary popcorn to start which was a cool touch. Can't wait to come back next time I'm in York!! (Bonus: They also played cool 90s hip-hop music!)

A explosive flavoursome delight!!! We visited as a family of 5 (17,13,10 yrs) we ordered the OG burger/ jerk Chicken burger/ chippy tea/ dean martin/children’s chicken strips meal. Along with a Fanta, Coke, fruit shoot and 2 pints of Coney. Everyone throughly enjoyed their meal and despite thinking it wouldn’t fill then at first sight it was more than enough with the large portions! (Eyes greedier than belly). The place was full and we are glad we booked before coming. The staff were friendly and attentive. Quick to take orders and food came out within reasonable time. We were lucky to have £1 child’s meal and took advantage of the Thursday 50% off beer and wine. All in all a fantastic experience we are already looking forward to our next visit to York to test the other burgers.

“I traveled up from Chesterfield in Derbyshire to try The Clucking Chicken in York because it came highly recommended—and wow, I was not disappointed! 🍗✨ I had the Dean Martin burger and it was absolutely amazing—beautiful, succulent chicken, and the sauces were to die for. I tried three sauces on the side: truffle mayo, sweet chili sauce, and garlic—and both the truffle mayo and sweet chili sauce were outstanding. 👌🔥 I can thoroughly recommend The Clucking Chicken—definite thumbs up from me! 👍 Keep up the good work, everyone! 😊”

Next level fried chicken, plus the giant mozzarella stick is the stuff of legend. Great tunes in the restaurant too. We are until all four of us were full to the brim for £60, which is excellent value 💪

OMG what amazing food i had the dean Martin and the flavours from the first bite just blew my mind , my wife had the Mexican burrito and it was just as tasty and the pork was so juicy. We shared the mozzarella stick it was massive and someone tasty but eat it while it's hot so the cheese stays chewy and soft If your in york this is a must visit

Oh my god this place is insanely good! Chicken was amazing, best mac & cheese I have ever eaten! My husband had a mash and gravy chicken burger and he said it’s the best burger he has even eaten! Also you have to try the Mac & cheese spring roll! Lovely service here and decor too. 10/10 recommend if you’re coming to York!!!

Came here for my partner's birthday during our visit to York from Brighton. We really loved it a lot, we would come back in a heartbeat. If this place existed in Brighton we would be loyal members. The giant mozzy stick was perfectly crunchy on the outside even after we let it sit for 5 minutes. The hot honey fried chicken was also very nice with a light crunch, seasoned well. Thanks!

Mozzarella stick was amazing! Cauliflower bites with buffalo hot sauce are the best I’ve had. Sauce on the hallumi fries is sweet and spicy. Will definitely be back. Staff super friendly and cleaned back really fast 10/10

Amazing food and service here. Our little one was ecstatic as she was greeted with a pot of brand new colouring pencils to draw with, and from there on the service was excellent and the food was faultless. Everything we had was packed with flavour and cooked perfectly, I can't recall eating a better chicken burger. If we were local to York we would be in here a lot!

A gem in york this a must from the moment you walk in the door. When you take a seat your giving a little popcorn. The food is amazing we got the Dean martin burger and a large mozzrella stick. The tase is amazing abd very filling.

Genuinely the best value for money and quality food places I've ever been to. Got the mates/dates platter and the famous mozzarella sticks. Worth every penny.

What can I say after a random Google search we chose this place and wow what a brilliant find the burgers are amazing would definitely recommend a visit if you're ever in York.

Tried clucking oinks during are stay at York I got a Deliveroo and was very well packaged I ordered a duo with my partner and when we open the boxes it was the amazing smell we have ever smelt we took a bite into the burgers and they was extremely mouth watering we both got salted pepper chips and the seasoning was perfect We would definitely recommend anyone to try this excellent place to eat

I got delivery so can't say much about the atmosphere or similar, but the food was delicious! It only took 25 minutes to arrive which is quicker then most other burger places I've ordered from. A very healthy portion of chips and large burger was more then enough to fill my appetite. Next time, I'll go in person!

Went on the 25th June. Got seated straight away. Got free popcorn. An awesome server. Very friendly, chatty and attentive throughout. Food was great. Hot and fresh. We got the Big Cluck burger. The pizza me chicken strips and a portion of fries to share. The marinara sauce and the garlic mayo with the strips was so delicious. A top soundtrack in the background. I would recommend Clucking Oinks 100%. Great job guys. Thank you.

Took the whole family and had an amazing meal. OG and Jerk King for sandwiches, giant mozzarella and hot buffalo cauliflower were all delicious. A picky group was very happy.

The staff were lovely and the food tastes amazing - The buffalo sauce was my favourite and I highly recommend if you like spicy tang!

Nice atmosphere and very friendly and genuine staff. Such a shame there are none in London. HIGHLY recommended.

Great fried chicken place. Chicken so tasty and cooked to perfection. Tastes SO good - Clucking oink do the best fried chicken in York. Quite pricey 💲💲 Disappointed that the 'rodeo' burger didn't make it to the castle gate clucking oink - for that reason will probably go to the one in Spark next time. I ADORE the rodeo one, it is to die for. Staff were friendly and quick service.

Wow the best loaded fries and fried chicken strips ever! The garlic mayonnaise sauce is amazing!!! Would definitely recommend the decor and theme of the place is brilliant the service was great staff were friendly the food arrived fast and was very hot and fresh

The burgers were so freaking delicious and they come with fries🥵🫠. We tried the send noods and buffalo blue, absolutely amazing and filling. We tried the pizza me strips, really good.

Literally one of the BEST burgers I have ever tasted. I didn't want it to end. I actually considered ordering another to take out and eat later, but that would've been greedy of me 🫣 The fries were lovely and seasoned so well. Mac and cheese was so creamy and cheesy. Yum! Staff were very friendly and attentive too. Definitely stop by here for some of the best chicken ever. They have quite a few vegan and vegetarian options, too!

The food here was delicious and the service was faultless. It is a little on the pricey side for what is essentially a chicken shop but the flavours here are worth the price. Can't wait to go back to York to try more of the menu

I have returned- yet again- for the giant mozzy stick! I don't wish to over sell this it anything, but, it will change your life. Happy 80's rap background , great service. This month's special - The Doughnutter was a mad scientist and chefs love child. Loved it. Devoured it.

We came as a group of 3 and all of our food was fantastic, very nice welcoming and helpful staff. The atmosphere was very nice with it being not too busy for a friday night. We will continue to come again

Absolutely love this restaurant. Amazing food, friendly staff and attentive service. Came here with uni friends for a first time visit and have been back several times since. Never had a bad meal! Highly recommend the Dean Martin Burger (hands down best burger I've ever had)! Will continue to come here and bring different friends and family to share the experience. A must try for York residents and tourists a like!!!

WOW! This place has to have the best buffalo wings in york, careful tho they're spicy. For the price, the portion size is perfect, I shared a burger, fries and 6 wings with my wife, and this was enough to fill us up. I will certainly be coming back and recommend you do also!!

Stumbled into this place after visiting York Dungeon ~ and we’re so glad we did! The food was so fun and delicious. Highly recommend the poutine fries, salt & pepper loaded fries and, of course, the giant mozzarella stick. 💖🤝 Definitely worth a visit!

The food is really tasty. I ordered the pulled pork burger, and it was absolutely delicious — full of flavour and cooked perfectly. The only downside was that it came on its own, with no salad or sides included. I was a bit disappointed to find that you have to pay an extra £5 to add anything. That said, everything we tried was full of flavour and well-prepared. A great spot for a meal if you’re in Bakewell — just be aware of the extras.

The food here was fantastic. The only slight issue is it is a very cramped venue but nothing extreme. We didn’t have a long wait and all of the staff were lovely

The food was really good for the most part. The burger, wings and crispy pork were great. Was really let down with the salt and pepper chips though, I didn't think there was much "salt and pepper" about them, just some cold peppers added on top. I'd have been better not upgrading and just having the fries alone. The curry sauce side also disappointed, it was quite small we felt and was ice cold, like it had been in a fridge cold, it was also quite runny. Obviously chip shop curry sauce is usually served hot and quite thick, so it wasn't the best. If you avoid those things then I'm sure you'll really enjoy it.

Great chicken burger. The Parmesan was missing but the staff were more than keen to correct this. Also got the pulled pork burger; it was lovely but jalapeños were missing. The special offer is worth the price

Tried Clucking Oinks during a stay in York, and overall it was a mixed experience. The ordering and packaging were solid, and the food looked great at first glance, but a few things really let it down. The burger fell apart after the first bite, which made it a bit of a mess to eat, and the garlic mayo dip just wasn’t nice at all, with an off flavour that didn’t pair well with anything else in the meal. I ordered two bottles of Diet Coke. One was chilled and refreshing, the other was room temperature, which felt like a careless oversight. The rest of the meal (the strips and fries) was decent, but considering the price (£39.50), I expected better consistency and quality across the board. Could be worth a try for the novelty and branding, but I wouldn’t rush back unless they tighten up on the details.
