Great place, Mr. Bruce and the rest of the staff are awesome. I've been coming here for years. There's a ton of sushi places in SJ, but I will always make the drive to Ariakes.

Super friendly staff and chief. Food was fresh and tasty. They do a pretty good job of keeping everything clean. Their indoor plants are nice and healthy and create an enjoyable ambiance in an otherwise bland shopping center. We'll be back again to try some other dishes/rolls from their enormous menu.

My husband and I had lunch here last week. We were impressed with how great the food tasted. The price for the lunch special was better than some of the prices at other Asian restaurants. The chicken teriyaki is delicious, as are the sides. We will be returning.

I found this restaurant because it's close to my home, and it's my favorite Japanese restaurant now. I don't think you could find a more friendly restaurant. There are literally hundreds of photos adorning the walls of customers celebrating their birthdays, and the staff will sing for you then.They have the best hamachi kama, it's so flavorful and juicy. Even though it's listed as an appetizer, it's so filling that I barely have enough room to add a couple of my favorite sushi choices. There's a small side/garnish of salad with it. Another great thing is that they are open all day long.

Very lively interiors and well decorated. I took the take out option and the food was very good. I ordered the caterpillar roll and one of their special rolls. The prices are also decent for the quality you get. Definitely coming back.

This place is fun high energy with great food and friendly staff! Vegetarian sushi options are great. I just wished they had brown rice for their rolls but other than that amazing!!! They have lights, singing, disco ball etc. for birthdays. When I lived closer I would go at least 2-3 times a month and more including to go orders.

Amazing Sushi! The best part about this place is the owner. He is amazing! The staff is great and they are all very friendly and attentive. We went for a party as my recommendation because I eat there all the time and my family loved it. We took my nephew and they all came out singing and banging the drums and had him do his shots. Consistently solid food-wise. Nothing spectacular, especially given the price point, but large portions and fast service. Excellent customer service and great fun if you’re celebrating a birthday or similar event.

Good boat sushi place. The pieces we pulled off the boat were a little stale/dry, as if they'd been riding around for a long time. But the freshly ordered pieces were good and a reasonable price. I particularly like the poke maki roll.

Nice place. Not a snooty high end place, just reasonably good sushi. Nice selection of rolls and nigiri, donburi, bento boxes and appetizers. Decent sake and they have draft beer too. Watch out for the beef teriyaki, it can be a tad dry.

I've been coming to this place for years and it is one of my favorite places for Sushi! The dining area is always clean! The staff is always cheerful! The food is always great! Plus, if it's your birthday, this is the go-to spot to enjoy yourself!

My boyfriend and I visited this spot expecting a revolving sushi bar based on what we saw online, but it seems they stopped offering that a few years ago. However, the change didn’t take away from our experience. We were warmly greeted, and the family-like atmosphere, with photos of customers lining the walls, felt inviting. I ordered the tempura udon, while my boyfriend chose two hand rolls—salmon skin and cooked salmon. We also shared the soft-shell crab roll. The udon was tasty, though I was slightly disappointed by the egg (I was expecting a poached or boiled one). That said, the tempura was a nice surprise, featuring imitation crab, carrot, and shrimp rather than just the usual shrimp. My boyfriend enjoyed his cooked salmon roll but wasn’t a fan of the salmon skin one. The highlight of our meal was definitely the soft-shell crab roll—fresh and flavorful, it really made the lunch memorable!

It was mostly empty when we dined there so the atmosphere was low energy and quiet. Our rolls were tasty and the service was great. Pricing was very reasonable.

I am rarely inclined to share bad reviews, but I would not return here. While the sushi was fine, the service was rough. Despite coming in well before the dinner rush, they served multiple people in front of us, brought us the wrong order twice and then didn’t bring our check for a really long time. It was also freezing inside. So many other options, this one won’t be one we’re adding to our list.

The food wasn't bad, the staff were nice, but slow and we had to ask for things like chopsticks, plates and soy sauce. Also when our food was delivered the server didn't know what item they had brought to the table and had to go back to ask the sushi chef. The hot sake was pretty good though.

Sushi is good. I only go here because of the mango crunch. I like that for birthdays they dim the lights and have the staff come out and make noise to celebrate you. However, the service sometimes sucks. It's been a few times where I get seated immediately, but the server takes forever to come take the order. Then, once your food is out, they barely come check in to see if you need refills. If you waive them down, they look upset.

The food was well prepared but did take a while to be brought to table. Especially for how few patrons were there on an early Friday afternoon. Decent prices and a large menu. Still looking for a favorite dish here though. I did enjoy the sushi boats that floated by.

The staff is great and very eager to please, however I don't go to restaurants for socal appeasement so pardon my honesty. The food was horrible! Nobody in the staff is Japanese. When one goes to enjoy cultural specific food, there should at least be someone from the culture to represent oversight. The one who prepared my attempt, had obviously never been trained one day in sushi. He also happened to be the same person who seated me and brought me my water. Presentation inside, the red tuna and shrimp both smelled like bait fish and was warm enough to not want to stick together any longer. They took the fishy ones off my tab workout question so I left a nice 100% tip, but the review should be where the value lives. Customers will not allow you to stay in business for very long like this. Do you care? Best of luck. Friendly fan of good food,

Over-rated. Has been around for a long time,. Wonder how it survived. Thursday busy lunch hour has only my wife and I. Soup was too salty. Tempura was cold. Soybeans were recooked several times, no taste. Only good thing is price and portion.

Unfortunately this place has gone downhill the past year or 2. It used to consistently be good quality and good price, with decent service but my last visit was disappointing - the California roles were bad - so bad I could smell them on the plate; the service was super slow (at one point, all 3 guys disappeared and were hanging out in the kitchen chatting it up); I ordered more food only for them to take their breaks as I watched my check just sit on the counter, not getting worked on. Such a bummer but I won't be going back.

The miso soup and salad were.fine. The men's bathroom was just dirty, like it had not been thoroughly cleaned in months. The tagging that had been covered in spray paint since at.least our last visit was still there. It seems like they are struggling as there are only 2 employees there now. We most likely won't be returning.

The same three employees are always working whenever I visit and seem to prioritize socializing amongst eachother and discussing their personal lives rather than attending to anything remotely work related, regardless of how busy the restaurant is. It's truly such a shame because I still enjoy the food, but the customer service has fallen so far from what it used to be.

Chicken Teriyaki was worst that I've ever had. Quality of the chicken was poor. Chicken had so much oily skin. Friend's Tonkatsu was dry and parts were overcooked.

Must be New ownership.The 👨 making the rolls did not even know how to make a California roll. We had to ask for hot tea three times. The restaurant was not busy.
