Went to Dar Al Bahja and honestly the food was amazing! Tasted just like Morocco. The service was super nice and friendly, and the food was top notch. Definitely going back again!
The food here is SO. GOOD. The staff are very welcoming and the spot feels real cozy. It was my first time having Moroccan food and it definitely won’t be the last!
We had dinner in this lovely, cozy Moroccan restaurant. The chicken tagine, bread, & kofta briouate were tasty & we loved the harira soup. Yusuf, our server, was so helpful & attentive throughout. He even shared how he makes the mint tea, which was a perfect end to our meal. If you're looking for warm service & great food, definitely come to Dar Lbahja!
It was really cold inside, food was good but I had better elsewhere, price wise its good but quantity can b improved.
Came here with my family and we all really enjoyed the food and the tea/cookies after. The harira soup was soo good. Doesn’t come too salted so you can salt to your preference. We couldn’t get enough of the handcut fries. We also got the chicken and beef tajines. Beef tajine could be a bit more tender for my liking but was still really good. Portions are for 1-2 person max if you’re thinking of doing family style. 1 tajine is good for 1-2 people max. We ended up ordering a second round of food and more bowls of the harira. The Moroccan tea was good (would’ve also liked it more minty for my personal preference) and the accompanying cookies were very good. I believe we spoke to the owner/chef and she was really awesome. This is a new place that recently opened, give them a try for some authentic Moroccan food in the neighborhood.
This is the real authentic moroccan food I grew up with at home. You feel the moroccan warmth and they are super hospitable. We had a tagine and the server brought the actual tagine - like the clay dish that the meat was slow cooked in and served it on our plate. You could cut the beef with a spoon. We also had the couscous (only available saturdays) was so good!
L’Bahja is hands down one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a long time. I went for their Iftar special, and everything about it was perfect. The harira soup, fresh bread, and dates made for a classic and comforting start, and the rest of the meal was just as good—flavorful, well-seasoned, and super satisfying after a long day of fasting. After that, I had their meat combo platter, and it was next-level. The meats were cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Every bite just hit the spot. You can tell they really put care into their food, from the seasoning to the presentation. On top of that, the service was amazing. The staff was welcoming, super attentive, and made sure everything was just right. The whole vibe of the place is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a great meal. If you’re in Astoria and looking for incredible Moroccan food, L’Bahja is 100% worth checking out. I’ll definitely be back!
Authentic and very good Moroccan food and family friendly. A must try in Astoria!
Julia, owner and chef in this small plain restaurant, comes from Marrakech and has an experienced palate. She knows that spices fruits vegetables and breads/filo are not the same in USA as in Morocco. But she has largely succeeded in bridging the taste gap: tagine..couscous..bastilla are all very authentic. We ate lamb tagine with sweet prunes and chicken tagine with spices and olives...preceded by tasty bastilla made with chicken instead of NYC protected pigeons..ask for more raisins and powdered sugar to approach Fes standards. True mint tea and fabulous cookies ended our happy time there.
It was very good and authentic Moroccan style breakfast ♥️
I'm so happy Dar Lbahja opened in the neighborhood! The atmosphere was inviting, and the two tagines we ordered (chicken and beef) were outstanding. Definitely stop by for great Moroccan food in Astoria!
Delicious lamb Tajine I couldn’t ask for more felt like back home for sec this place worth the visit make sure you order tajines
Officially the best fries on the block. Very decent meal portion too. It's nice to have some Moroccan food in this area. If you live in the neighborhood, give them a shot.
I had read about Dar Lbahja's opening near my area. It was a real treat because I had never tried Moroccan food before. I let the staff know, and they helped by providing recommendations. Sharing my faves and must-orders: I LOVEDD the chicken bastilla and the jawhara dessert. The chicken bastilla is nothing like I've had before. It's floral, it's decadent, it's packed with filling with a crispy layer. It had me confused in the best way: is this a savory dessert or a sweet appetizer? The jawhara dessert is sooo good as well. It's made up of fried super-thin layers of dough that is fried with custard in between and on top. Great contrast of textures; because the layers are so thin it's not too heavy a dessert. cream has a light floral/fragrant flavor. Depending on which protein you prefer, I highly recommend either the chicken tagine or lamb tagine. The lamb tagine comes with dates and apricots that add a sweetness to the dish. The chicken tagine has olives (but for olive haters dont worry!! it's not olive-y at all!!) These tagines are served with bread on the side so you have something to sop up the leftover sauce. If you're ordering more dishes along with the tagine, the tagine portion is good to share between 2-3 people. A delightful addition to the neighborhood with such sweet owners and staff!
Dar Lbahja is a true hidden gem in Astoria , offering not only exceptional Moroccan cuisine but also warm, attentive service that makes you feel right at home. The bastilla, tajine and appetizers were delicious. The highlight of the meal was the jawhara — a must try with Moroccan mint tea. The service was great and the food was amazing. A must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable Moroccan dining experience!!
The best of the best! I love this place. I ordered delivery and the portion was the same as you would get in the restaurant, they didn’t skimp on any quantity and quality was superb ❤️ everybody wanting to try it go for it! I will only order moroccan food from them, I tried every restaurant that makes couscous in the 3 miles radius and this place took the spotlight❤️❤️❤️
I completely forgot to take pictures! The food was amazing, and the service was great. Shoutout to the entire team! Everything we ordered was delicious, and I must mention the tanjia was to die for!
Thank you to the lady who made the hrira for me, as I am pregnant — it was delicious! 10/10 for the excellent food, and 1000/100 for Moroccan hospitality.
If you want someone to propose to you because of how good the food is - take them here! Amazing atmosphere, beautiful design and marvelous service! Definitely coming back for more!
I was here yesterday try moroccan food the chicken bastila and seafood cigar was delicious you feel like you sitting in your house our waiter youssef was friendly he made us feel at home and asking if we have any questions or help about menu for choice the food
The food was incredible! I had the chicken tfalya with couscous while other people enjoyed various tagines (lamb, beef, and chicken). A dimly lit and atmosphere coupled with upbeat music adds to the quality of the meal and the service is friendly and helpful if it's your first time trying Moroccan cuisine. Absolutely recommend!
This is a great Dine in place with a Moroccan Delicious Cousin 😋 the Aroma will attract you from the instant you step in, Then the very worming welcome from those Moroccan girl and then you'll enjoy a Delicious Moroccan Style Arabian Cousin, My Wife was so happy and I enjoyed the meal, We highly Recommend this place, Dr. Jamal & Siham .
As soon as we walked in, we were given VIP treatment.exellent service and great food! If you’re moroccan and miss your mom’s food! Pay this restaurant a visit. You’d love it!
fantastic restaurant. we were sad when Dar Yemma closed, this is making up for it! for anyone looking for real moroccan food experience, this is the place. the kind of quality you would only get other there, around a family table.
I made a big mistake. The portions were huge. Definitely intended for groups. My only feedback is that the salt was lacking. They do provide salt and pepper at each table but the salt kept getting clumped up from the steam of the fresh and delicious plates of food.
I highly recommend this fantastic Moroccan restaurant. The owner was extremely welcoming, and the food was amazing—fresh and incredibly inviting. The portion sizes were generous; what we ordered was definitely enough for two people. I wish the owner the best of luck and hope they maintain this high quality forever, as we were truly seeking an exceptional fine dining experience in Moroccan cuisine. Best of luck!
We were excited to come here and it lived up to the hype! We started with the eggplant and Moroccan carrot salads (both excellent) and the hummus, which was rich and creamy. We had the lamb tagine with prunes and apricots which was tender and well balanced, and chicken with the fluffiest couscous. We ended the meal with a delightful surprise of a dessert — a beautiful light custard with a hint of orange blossom sandwiched between sheets of delicate fried filo-type dough. We’ll definitely be back and we’ll definitely be getting that dessert again!
This was the best dining experience I’ve had in NYC! The food was incredible authentic Moroccan flavors that made me feel like I was back in Morocco. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was amazing and friendly, attentive, and welcoming. If you’re looking for a true taste of Morocco, this place is a must-visit!
Really tasty and flavorful Moroccan food. Great portions as well. Moroccan feel and atmosphere.
I came here with a large group and we nearly ordered every main dish. All the meat and veggie dishes were so wonderful. After our meal we were also given mint tea. Such a great experience that I would recomend to everyone
If you’re looking for amazing authentic Moroccan food then this is the place to go. From the atmosphere to the service to the food it is all phenomenal. It’s a cozy and feels like a home cooked meal that you’re always craving.
excellent food, my favorite Moracan in Queens. The Lamb Tagine w/ prunes was our favorite and the bread -- wow, that's good bread & like nothing I've had in lil' North Africa a few blocks away. Delish, can't wait to bring more friends & fam.
Great Food, Lamb tajine was very delicious, Staff is very polite. Will definitely be back again.
I had the pleasure of enjoying Dar Lbahja’s catering at a recent event, and the food was absolutely incredible! The beef shank tagine was the most tender and flavorful I’ve ever had. The spread of Moroccan salads, spring rolls, samosas, mixed grill, and rice was perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. Even though they weren’t there in person, their food spoke for itself, authentic, delicious, and expertly prepared. If you’re looking for top-notch Moroccan catering, Dar Lbahja is the way to go!
the best authentic Moroccan food in Astoria that I’ve had in a while. The vibe is cozy I could fall asleep in my chair. The lamb tagine with prunes and apricots was amazing. The couscous and vegetables were sooo tasty. My family and I came for iftar here and had the Moroccan breakfast as well. 10/10 recommend the harira soup and mint tea!!
We saw it through Instagram and knew right away that we had to try it. We drove from Harlem to Astoria on a Sunday cause it’s always easier for parking and it is so worth the drive (or even the subway/train on a weekday. We have been to Morocco and the food is as traditional as it is delicious and authentic! We had chicken couscous, lamb with prunes, chicken pastila plus the salad appetizer platter and some amazing phylo pastry dessert. We are coming back:)))
We went because it was a restaurant recommend by Mayor Mamdani and it did not disappoint. The food was incredible, we got the bastilla, the lamb tajine, the royal couscous, and tea. We were in love with literally every bite and took home so much food that we ate leftovers for a couple days after. While service was slow (it’s a small place and quite busy and so we were more than happy to wait :), they were all incredibly kind and communicative. My car got towed by a rude neighbor business (I was too close to his driveway but not even blocking it) BUT the wonderful staff at Dar Lhabja came out, helped us look for the car, and then made sure we knew which businesses were owned by the guy who likely towed us. So — if you get towed, ask the staff at Dar Lhabja because we just messaged them all of the phone numbers you’ll need to get your car back, so they’ll be able to get you the right contacts!
The food here is delicious, better than many restaurants I tried in Morocco! I absolutely love their chicken and vegetable tagine. Be sure to order couscous to eat along with the dishes. Everything is flavorful, the chef clearly loves what she does and the food she makes. Very lucky that they are so close by! Also as a family of 5, I appreciate that they are welcoming of kids and don’t mind our rowdy bunch!
I placed an order for pickup and everything was ready on time. I ordered the kofta tagline, burrito with chicken, pastille, and a side of rice. I'm sorry that I don't take pics of everything because we were hungry. The kofta was 10/10. So flavorful and savory in a tomatoe sauce. It was gone before I can take a pic. And it comes with a fluffy bread that looks like it was made with cornmeal or semolina. The burrito was huge, stuffed with chicken and grilled which gave it a nice flavor. It came with delicious rustic fries, sliced thin and fried to perfection. I haven't tried the pastille yet but it looks amazing. I would definitely order from here again.
I had a wonderful experience at Dar Lbahja! I ordered the beef vegetable tajine, and it was absolutely delicious—tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the owner was incredibly kind and welcoming. Definitely a great spot for authentic Moroccan cuisine. Highly recommend. Thumbs up 👍
I had an amazing experience at Dar Bahja. I ordered the Royal Couscous and it was absolutely delicious, it truly reminded me of home. Youssef was incredibly kind and attentive, and the owner welcomed us with such a beautiful smile that made us feel like family. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Moroccan flavors and warm hospitality. A wonderful place to enjoy a real taste of Morocco!
Food is decent but the pricing is pretty expensive for a simple meal for two went over 65$ I mean for once in a while meal it isn’t bad but the pricing could use a bit of a tone down other spots have the same thing for 20$. I always see the female owner working late nights to keep her own business running and keeping it spotless. Overall not bad for the tangibles but the portions need work with the pricing maybe a meal special? Even a simple salad was kinda overpriced.
The place was wonderful. As an American citizen i would recommend this place to other people. the price can be expensive but it deserves it. they make food with love. there is a woman named touria she is the nicest person i have ever met in my whole life she even gave me a free plate she did it to the first people that came to her restaurant. but she doesnt do it anymore.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “A True Taste of Morocco in the Heart of NY!” I was on the hunt for a place to surprise my husband he’s been craving real Moroccan food and this spot absolutely hit the mark! From the very first bite, it felt like a little trip back home. The flavors were authentic, rich, and beyond delicious. Our waiter was the cherry on top: super friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The kind of service that makes you feel like family. We’ll definitely be coming back here the next time we’re in New York this place is a gem! 🇲🇦✨
Authentic Moroccan food, top quality, very good service. A busy place, very popular with the neighborhood Moroccans. We are going back next week.
The food tasted super authentic (I'm from Morocco) and delicious. Highly recommend the prune and lamb tagine and the chicken pastilla (very special combo of flavors). The service staff was warm and friendly and are actually from Morocco!
I always have a wonderful experience at Dar Lbahja! The food is absolutely delicious — full of authentic Moroccan flavor — and the service is warm and attentive. You can really feel the hospitality in every detail. Highly recommend for anyone craving real Moroccan cuisine!
This place is a true gem in Astoria! The food is absolutely delicious and authentic full of flavor and beautifully presented. The tagines taste just like homemade and the portions are generous. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Definitely one of the best spots in Queens if you’re craving Moroccan food. I’ll be coming back for sure!
Came here to celebrate my friend’s birthday and it was an amazing experience. Meriam, and the team here at Dar Lbahja were exceptional and very welcoming. Everyone made sure our food and drinks were properly served, and our comfort was their utmost priority. The food and mint tea were beyond delicious!! 10/10 would recommend and revisit🥰
Came here for a quick lunch, as a someone who came to NYC from Morocco I was happy to find a place with other natives. The food was well made and they were very flexible with our demands. The tea tastes just like home and the Tajine was very delicious also. Planned on spending only 20-30 minutes but ended up having good conversation and food which kept us for almost 2 hours. Well decorated store with Quran playing. Owners speak Darija and English
This was one of the best meals I've had in ages. The Chicken Bastilla was so good that we ordered three to go for our family. We'll try to come back for an iftar next month with friends and family. Great experience from service to food, with a low key atmosphere that was much appreciated.
I tried Dar Lbahja today and it was amazing. Highly recommend! The harira soup was on point honestly the best I’ve had compared to other Moroccan restaurants. All the appetizers were incredible. Every single one was so flavorful and satisfying I honestly feel like I could eat those appetizers every day if I could. Every dish we ordered was great and the food came out very fast. The service was amazing and you can really tell the chef knows what they’re doing. The prices are very reasonable too. It’s also a great place to go for iftar the setup was beautiful and everything felt very welcoming. Definitely a spot I would come back to!
Honestly, this place is such a gem. It doesn't even feel like a restaurant, it feels like you’re eating at a friend's house. Chef Touria is amazing and you can tell she puts so much love into the food!! We got the chicken bastilla, the lamb tajin with prunes, and the royal couscous, and everything was so fresh and authentic. We finished with the Jawhara dessert, which was the perfect move, super light, refreshing, and just really hit the spot. Plus, the staff are all so nice. If you want the real deal Moroccan food, go here!
I was so excited to try this hidden gem in Astoria and it didn’t disappoint. I felt like I was transported to Morocco in a homey way. The appetizers were deliciously savory from the Chicken Bastilla to the Moroccan cookies. Even the tea was hands down one of the best teas I’ve had at restaurants. The bread as well was fresh and soft paired with the Beef Tagine that was cooked with tender love. You really feel like you’re sitting down at a family friend’s house - Youssef our waiter was attentive and friendly. He made us feel right at home asking us if we had any questions and provided his recommendations.
If you're looking for authentic Moroccan cuisine, stop searching and head to Dar Elbahja in Astoria. This isn't just the best Moroccan restaurant in Queens--in my opinion, it's one of the best in all of New York City. The chef, Touria Lamtahaf is doing something truly special here. Warm hospitality, cozy atmosphere, and food that transports you straight to Morocco. Come hungry and save room for dessert and fresh mint Tea. Worth the trip to Astoria. 5 stars without hesitation.
We came to Dar Lbhaja for iftar, and from the very beginning the hospitality, service, and food were nothing short of impeccable. Truly a meal fit for kings and queens. We initially walked in without a reservation and were told there were no seats available. Before we even left, the host sent us off with dates and chebakia so we wouldn’t miss breaking our fast — an above-and-beyond gesture that speaks volumes. Ten minutes later, she called to let us know she had made room for us, and we rushed back, ready to begin our Moroccan food journey. My father was born and raised in Morocco, and I can confidently say this is some of the most authentic Moroccan food I’ve had in the States. The harira immediately transported me back to childhood — a warm, comforting tomato-based soup that truly soothes the soul. We ordered hummus (not traditionally Moroccan), but it was incredibly fresh, and you could taste the quality of the olive oil drizzled on top. The chicken bastilla was outstanding — perfectly nutty, sweet, and savory. It’s a dish that’s hard to come by, and when I see it on a menu, I must order it. For mains, we had the lamb with prunes, one of my favorite dishes in the world, and they absolutely did it justice. The lamb was tender, falling right off the bone, paired with traditional Moroccan bread to soak up every drop of the sweet, spiced broth. Lastly, the national dish of Morocco — couscous. Fluffy, hearty, and clearly made with love. Packed generously with root vegetables, this dish felt like home. Come hungry and bring friends — portions are large, meant to be shared, and this is a meal you’ll want to experience together.
I am a frequent diner at Dar Lbahja as I live just two blocks away and absolutely love this place! I have taken so many of my friends there as well and they too agree what a gem it is! The food is very delicious and full of flavor. I have tried several dishes that I have loved, but my absolute favorite is the lamb tagine with prunes and apricots. The meat just falls off the bone, the sauce is so tasty with a sweet aftertaste! It reminds me of home. I also like the chicken bastilla, the kofta cigars, the lamb couscous with root vegetables, and the assortment of Moroccan cookies. The service is also very warm and friendly. Noureddine (the owner), Maryam and Yousef are all great. A very special shout out to Maryam who made us feel like we were dining at her house and was so kind and warm with that beautiful smile. Thank you to all of you. Can’t wait to come back again for that lamb:)
Excellent food and outstanding service! I’ve been to New York many times, but this restaurant has become one of my favorites. I’ve had dinner here twice and both times were wonderful. Special thanks to Yousuf and Maryam were amazing. Thank you for the great hospitality!
Such an authentic Moroccan dining experience! The chicken tajine was rich and aromatic, the chicken bastilla was perfectly balanced with sweet and savory flavors, and the lamb couscous was tender and full of depth. Every dish was bursting with flavor. Definitely coming back!
Absolutely loved my experience at this Moroccan restaurant in Queens! The food is incredibly authentic and downright delicious—especially the couscous and lamb tajine, which are must-tries. The owners are warm and welcoming, making you feel right at home. Don’t miss out on this gem!
This family owned and operated Moroccan restaurant is a perfect addition to Astoria. Traditional North African foods, special Friday dishes, all made from scratch like you are visiting your Teta's house. The couscous is delicious! Dar Lbahja's service is top notch. The waitstaff is friendly, respectful, and do well to ensure your experience is the best. The restaurant is clean. They show futbol matches and offer teas, coffees, and treats if you want a quick visit with friends or to have a business meeting. Highly recommend for a true, North African experience.
A truly excellent Moroccan restaurant, where the food is delicious — even the desserts. We were warmly welcomed and very well looked after by Youssef. We will definitely come back with pleasure to this cozy, welcoming place with beautiful déco
I enjoyed the unique flavors and variety of dishes here. The portions were filling and the food had a nice homemade feel to it. A great place to try something different.

I tried this restaurant 2 times (including iftar), nothing to say just perfect! If you’re north african you will feel like home.
Great experience food wise even as a Moroccan, very warm and friendly people, Youssef served us and went above and beyond' Definitely recommend!
Very cozy place. Great atmosphere. The waiter was kind and polite and most importantly the food was delicious. Very authentic Moroccan cuisine in a city that lacks that. Highly recommend.

Cozy atmospheric place with food that's so flavorful even when not spicy. Including tagine, couscous and others. Staff very friendly and hospitable. Great tea for two and other beverages as well.
Delicious moroccan restaurant with attentive service. Not a ton of authentic Moroccan places in the city so this felt like a gem! The portions were generous and we also got bread, harissa, and olives (not pictured). Can’t wait to come back and try the chicken tagine!
Great experience food wise even as a Moroccan, very warm and friendly people, Youssef served us and went above and beyond' Definitely recommend!
Terrific Sunday lunch! Every dish tasted fresh, homemade, delicious: carrot salad, roasted eggplant, bastilla, lamb tajine, merguez sandwich, and oh! the fries. Dar Lbahja will exceed your expectations whether you are new to Moroccan cooking or grew up in Fez!

We came today from California with our family for iftar. It was amazing, mashAllah! The food was so delicious 😋😋😋 and the service was very nice. Many thanks to the whole team for the great service. This is the best Moroccan restaurant. We will definitely come back very soon, insha’Allah 😍😍😍
Great Moroccan food in Astoria! I really enjoyed the harira soup—it was rich, comforting, and full of flavor. The lamb tagine was also excellent, very tender and perfectly spiced. I’m glad I discovered this family-owned restaurant and I’m already looking forward to coming back to try the couscous dishes.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this incredible Moroccan restaurant, and it was truly an unforgettable experience from start to finish. First, the food was absolutely outstanding. Every dish was rich in flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care and authenticity. each bite felt like a trip straight to Morocco. The balance of spices was spot on — bold but never overpowering — and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. The atmosphere made the experience even more special. The décor is warm and inviting, with stunning Moroccan touches that create a cozy yet elegant ambiance. The lighting, music, and overall vibe make it perfect for both a relaxed dinner and a special occasion. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the exceptional service and hospitality. The staff are attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. You don’t just feel like a customer — you feel like a guest. A special shoutout to Maryam, the owner, who goes above and beyond to ensure everyone feels at home. Her warmth, kindness, and passion for sharing Moroccan culture shine through in every detail of the restaurant. It’s clear she pours her heart into this place, and it shows. If you’re looking for amazing Moroccan food, a beautiful atmosphere, and hospitality that makes you feel like family, this is the place to go. Highly recommend — I can’t wait to return!
We had a welcoming experiencing here and we would come back again. We loved the chicken bastilla, lamb tajine, and the grilled meats. The only thing worth noting otherwise is that it is quite cold inside, and we wish the staff would have turned on the heating sooner. And the dishes took quite a while to arrive despite coming at lunch hour.
A very unique restaurant in the vibrant neighborhood of Astoria. Would definitely suggest coming here, as they have adequate seating with good portions. One suggestion is to maybe consider Lamb or Beef, the chicken tagine was a bit dry. Nonetheless, the chicken sandwich was great.

The lamb couscous tasted a bit dry. Lamb was tough. Tagine was similar. Not the best I’ve had, not the worst. Nice staff but need to improve wait times and attention to customers coming in.
This is about the service. Called to reserve for the new year eve dinner, they said still have spots and they are going to send me the link to make half payment that day, called next day to follow up with them because i didn't receive the link they said again that they are sending the link that day, DAY3 they called me to double check my info and they are sending the link right the way and nothing they never send the link to confirm the reservation. Please if you have spots say yes and confirm reservation don't drag it because one person is not good for you, be clear say we only do 2 people and up which is fine also but be clear in your communication, don't say ohhh it ok if just for one person we like family here, no we are not because i'm paying for the food so either take reservation or not but don't waist people time for 3 days,
I have to admit the couscous here was a total let-down, especially given how charming the dining room looked. First, the presentation promised fluffy, jewel-toned vegetables nestled on a bed of perfectly steamed semolina. Instead, what arrived was a sad, clumpy mound of grain that had clearly sat under a heat lamp too long. The couscous was damp and gummy, lacking the light, airy texture that makes it so special. The vegetable stew on top fared no better. Carrots and zucchini were boiled to the point of disintegration, mushy and colorless, offering only a whisper of seasoning. The sauce was thin and timidly salted, as if the chef was afraid to actually flavor the dish. I searched in vain for the warm perfume of cumin, the gentle tang of preserved lemon, or even a hint of aromatic cinnamon, but found nothing. I have enjoyed humble Moroccan meals in hole-in-the-wall spots that deliver true depth of flavor, satisfying textures, and genuine soul. Here, all the ornate tilework and pretty lanterns cannot hide the fact that the food itself feels like an afterthought. Save your appetite and your dollars for somewhere that actually cares about its couscous, because this place sadly does not.
I booked for breaking fast early at 10 am. The lady that took my info said ok the table is booked. Now 2 hrs before ftour someone calls me and said my reservation is canceled because I was on a waiting list. If I the person I spoke too at 10 am was honest and told me there’s a waiting list I would have told her cancel. Now it’s almost ftour time and I have no food and no where to go. Not professional at all.
