This is an amazing bar with friendly staff. Prices were reasonable and the reason why Brooklyn is superior to Manhattan for atmosphere. This bar is as great as it is because it's not flashy and overcompensating for anything and they work with/for the community to give back and fund assistance for noble causes and fighting for social justice. They maintain their positive vibes on the primary rule of universal respect and dignity for everyone.

Really chill vibes. Awesome bar tender. I think her name was Ann and she makes a really good margarita. They have happy hour and have themed days every month with live music shows and comedy shows. They have the feel of a no judgement zone and everyone is welcome.

Karaoke was a fun idea, but the host, DJ, really didn’t seem to have things organized. They charge per song, yet DJ kept jumping in to sing multiple songs himself—even with a long list of paying guests still waiting. It’s a great bar with an awesome vibe, but I wouldn’t recommend coming on karaoke night unless the hosting improves. The bartender, though, was absolutely amazing!

We had SUCH a great night at Starr Bar recently. We were celebrating a friend's bachelorette, and the bartenders were so friendly, super accommodating and overall great. The place wasn't super packed and if you're fully vaccinated, you weren't required to wear a mask (although they weren't checking for proof of vaccination, FYI). The drinks were moderately priced and they have a lot of great beer options. This is a great place to jam out to your favorite songs with your friends, haha!

Went to an event here for a friend this past Saturday and it was terrible. Where do I even begin. First thing one of the bartenders (don’t know his name) however a white tall gay male had the rudest F attitude and said “Gurl bye” to my friend after he assumed she didn’t have a tab open. Once it was established she did indeed have a tab open we find out they actually lost her card by giving it to another patron….which led us down a rabbit hole. I don’t know if Carey is the manager however he did his best to rectify the situation and I appreciate that. On the other hand the bartender who was giving attitude continued to make unnecessary comments and it was clear he liked to argue with females but that energy changed once myself and other male friends approached the situation. He did apologize after we told him he needs to stop going back and forth with a woman especially over a mistake his establishment made. Would I go back absolutely not. On the other hand the employee Carey who actually helped was the only professional employee here.

I was very disappointed by this place. My friends rented out the back room for an event, so you think they would have cared about us. But it was a nightmare. One bartender let a stranger sign my bill and take my credit card and took no responsibility for it. Another bartender, NICK, was extremely disrespectful and told us if we didn’t like his attitude to get over it and not come back. I hope the owner sees this and realizes keeping customers is more important than holding on to rude, unprofessional, and utterly incompetent staff.

Their “outdoor seating” is laughable. I wouldn’t list that as an option on Google, if I were the owner. I was worried the chair might collapse. It didn’t feel very sturdy. It reminded me of like Barbie furniture. Cheap and flimsy. Nothing to look at if you do choose to sit outside. There were only two people who had come and gone , playing pool, on a Thursday for happy hour , in the time that I was there. It is dark and looks beat up in the interior . Seems like it need a bit of TLC. If you’re looking for atmosphere or ambience, don’t come here . I’m not sure what’s up with all the good reviews - maybe it’s a better club at night ??? This place looks like it’s seen better days . Maybe time for a renovation. It did not pass the vibe check. My margarita was subpar at best. They said the kitchen wasn’t open at like 445 pm. I wouldn’t bother coming back if I were in Bushwick again.
