Had a great night with friends here. Came early a bit before 7. Had lattes, beer and sake. Staff was really nice. Love the professionalism. Pool table is what brought me here. Extremely spacious. Love the decor. Will definitely aim to hold an event here in 2026!
I found this place by chance, and it instantly became one of my top spots in Manhattan to play pool, have coffee, and grab a drink. The owner does everything himself — he serves, makes the coffee, and cooks. Between the warm atmosphere and the incredibly tasty, homemade food, it truly feels like coming into a family home. I ordered a latte and an avocado toast, and he even invited us to try a soup he had just made, along with some toast with pesto and cheese — it couldn’t have been better. Prices are very affordable, and it’s the perfect place if you’re looking for something calm, with great vibes, and a place to truly enjoy. Also and super important: great selection of wines
What a gem! Super low-key spot, vibes 10/10. Quiet and friendly people inside. The bar man was nice and took his time perfecting the food. I got the avocado toast with egg which was quite tasty. My partner got the ham and provolone and I wish I got that too because that looked very tasty as well. Small plate but a little on the pricier side. I am not sure if the guy behind the bar owns the place and it’s just him so maybe that’s why but still it’s a local spot and definitely worth supporting.
Vibes are elite in this place! Very unsuspecting cafe, came in for some shelter from the rain and turned out to be the best ever. Barista is awesome, customers awesome too, had a lovely chat with them. Music is straight vibes too. A little out of the way, but perfect chill spot with great coffee :)
After a long day skating at LES skatepark, I stumbled into The Monroe and couldn’t have picked a better spot to unwind. The Guinness was perfectly poured, the mushroom cheddar quiche hit the spot, and the chill vibes made it easy to relax. There’s a pool table if you’re looking to hang a bit longer, and the owner, Drew, is friendly and welcoming — makes you feel right at home. I’ll definitely be back soon.
The vibes are so good here for studying, the coffee is so amazing. The services is great, very lowkey and chill. The space is beautiful, and the owner is so nice. It’s a very low key spot, I don’t think they did any marketing. Prices are really good too!
will take you to a chill, relax ambience and will detached you to the bustling and hassling city. Recommended for people who love to meet new people and enjoy the game board and billiards, have a cool beer and wine and light fare foods.
[The Monnroe] had their pre-Grand Opening event on Thursday evening, February 20th from 6:00-8:00 PM. Most of the attendees were part of an ongoing series of art lectures and sessions held in various locations across the city by the lead instructor. A group of New York based intellectuals and professionals from a wide range of disciplines who form these art classes. The interior space as described by its proprietor [Drew] said “We just opened tonight,” and described it as a newly renovated performance space within a Victorian-styled bar and cafe, which welcomes everyone. A truly great place. Innovative and with enough room to dance and disco if the furniture was rearranged for one. In close proximity to the local subway stations on the Lower Side of Chinatown’s up-and-coming East Broadway corridor, it will certainly add into its repertoire of real cool places of interest. Plus a new hangout for trendy bars and local artists.
Great place to have some coffebor hot chocolate. It is a comfortable atmosphere and warm decoration, a great place to meet with friends.
Lovely place!Coffee so so so good!☺︎☕️♥︎
Very unique spot! Good for working. The owner was very pleasant and friendly to talk to. Will be back!
Keep an eye out for this great new addition to the Lower East Side! The owner and staff were very welcoming and made us feel like old friends. Be sure to ask about the food options they have available as well, the pork bao buns and jambalaya were a welcome surprise and cooked to perfection! Not to mention the comfortable and well curated space, accompanied with a pool table. Discovered that they cook fresh waffles in the mornings and have a great coffee selection. Looking forward to becoming a recurring customer.
Groovy place with amazing offerings. Perfect place to meet up with friends and have a coffee or drink. Amazing vibes.

Drew is one of the coolest bar owners I have ever met and the attention to detail for the overall decor is just phenomenal. From the hanging motorcycle on the entrance to the perfectly crafted drinks you can see a real passion that was put into this place. Coffee came out piping hot and the cheese pull from the sandwiches was amazing. They also got a cool pool table and a lot of seating
Great spot for beer and wine , plus they have a pool table . Very spacious and welcoming . Bartender is super friendly as well . Would highly recommend!
They gave me free soup. Need I say anything else? If I must then I will include their excellent atmosphere, staff, and selection of food and beverages. Rauchbier ftw!
Amazing atmosphere, service, and drinks. A great place to get some work done or hang out.
The bar/cafe is such a cute spot to chill, chat, and over all just vibe. The atmosphere is great as it provides a pool table, some board games, and other entertainment! The owner is super helpful, friendly, and knowledgable in the media industry, and he helped me and my friend in our project as he was generous enough to let us use the space! Will defiantly be back in the future!
Love this spot. Got recommended by a friend, and it’s one of the cozier, chiller coffee shops with a really pleasant, quiet vibe to either wind down and relax, play pool or chess, or get some work done. All the employees have been very kind, the coffee is reasonable/affordable and delicious, and the owner is lovely too. His dog is always around and chills in the shop which is awesome. Excited to try the food since I’ve only had coffee so far, but this is one of my favorite spots
I wish all places would be like an alternate universe living room, I’m so grateful this exists. Sitting with a coffee, book, magazine,, friend, time … I’m glad for their evening wine/beer but can’t wait for their full liquor license - I only dread that this place will be overrun with Gen Z fashionistas once word gets out so i’m trying to get my fix in n now.
A cozy café with décor that slays, We “studied” (kinda) for hours and days. The staff was so sweet, funny, full of glee, They surprised us with cookies, pure joy guaranteed!! #spittingbars

Rare to find such a welcoming and enjoyable spot to hang downtown. Impeccable spot, staff, owner and drinks are all stellar.
