Awesome as usual. Bradley was absolutely stupendous. We really loved the old fashioned grilled tacos. Salsa really hit the spot tonight. Bradley's doppelganger Joel is pretty cool as well.

This is one of our favorite options when we want Tex-Mex. On our first visit, I had the zucchini, which was a wonderful and tasty surprise! Tonight, my husband had the Taco Salad with Fajita Chicken. I had the Fish Tacos. Both were excellent choices, well cooked, tasty, and served surprisingly quickly. Corinne was our server and she was a delight. I'm an improv actor, so my yes-and game is always on...and she played right along. So engaging and fun! Looking forward to our next visit!

I finally got around stopping by Matt's in Allen for lunch today and I'm glad I did. Like many Texans, my first impression of a Mexican restaurant is it's chips and salsa. When they were placed on my table, the color of the salsa had me dubious. It was a brownish color and didn't look appealing. But, when I took my first taste I was blown away. It was amazing and might just be my new favorite salsa. The chips were light and crispy, just thick enough for dipping without breaking. It took considerable will power not to eat the whole basket by myself. I ordered a Skinny Margarita and Tacos Rico's for lunch. The drink was fresh and bright, very tasty and refreshing. The tacos were served in excellent, fresh made flour tortillas. The cubed sirloin was well seasoned and flavorful, cooked perfectly and very tender. Also included was some rice that I didn't eat (I'm diabetic so didn't need the additional carbs) and a cup of beans which were also very good. My meal was $30 before tip, so not inexpensive, but definitely worth the money. I will definitely be going back and taking the family with me.

If I'm looking for a place to unwind with friends and enjoy some authentic Tex-Mex, Matt's Rancho Martinez is my spot. Their Happy Hour is a highlight, and it's become a destination for my friend group. One of the standout items on the menu is their queso – it's rich, smooth, and pairs well with their freshly made tortilla chips. The margaritas – consistently good and just the right balance of tangy and sweet. Great deal, too. Oh - and they do gluten free decently well. They no longer make the chicken fried steaks gluten free, but I generally get nachos, enchiladas, or fajitas. Never an issue. Chips are fresh and safe, too. While Matt's Rancho Martinez isn't about fancy dining, it excels in providing good quality, comfort food. The dishes are hearty, satisfying, and true to the Tex-Mex tradition. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place offers a welcoming atmosphere and delicious food that will keep you coming back.

We recently had a 70 th birthday party for a friend and decided to reserve Matt's big party room for the party. We worked with Ericka and Thomas for menu details and arrangements for the room. I can't say enough good things about everyone from Matt's that we worked with. Planning and execution were perfect and the kindness and consideration we were shown was exceptional. Matt's excels at customer service and quality of the food. Perfect place for a party!

New location and it's fantastic! Matt's hosted our monthly Mid Market Professionals COLLIN event yesterday and I was overwhelmed with the vast party 🥳 meeting room, stage, TVs. The servers were a bit overwhelmed but it was a big group of 50 at 3p so understandable. I didn't eat so I'll update when I do but others were raving about their meals.

We ordered and split the Spinach Quesadillas with added poblano peppers and their Trinity (grilled jalapenos, onions and garlic). It also came with fresh guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream and jalapenos . Their homeade hot sauce is sooooo good. The ice tea is made fresh as well. Best I have ever had! Christian did an awsome job on the service! I would definitely recommend Matts over any other mexican restraurant in DFW.

We've been going to Matt's at various locations for years. Happy that this one in Allen is so close to us. We just had a 20th anniversary party there in one of their private rooms. From the initial discussion, working out space and menu details to preparation they were fantastic to work with. We had around 30 people in attendance and 2 servers to handle our group. Everything went perfectly. Food, drinks and service were top notch. If you want good Tex Mex this is your place. If you want to host an event this is your place. Just a perfect evening. One last thing... when you go, whether for dinner or an event, ask for Jayla and/or Daisy for server(s). They are simply great. We always ask for Daisy... just awesome.

I must say! If you haven’t visited Matt’s Tex Mex restaurant, you’re missing out! I order the brisket tacos and they were delicious specially with the slice avocados that they had the rice and beans delicious delicious I was flabbergasted on the amount that came with it and I was full. The service was great. My waitress was Mary. She was on point always had my glass of water filled always checking up to see if everything was fine. Our waiter Chris Sticeh or Stiah (can’t read the last name well) was super nice, kept our drinks filled and had a warm personality. The fajitas were nice and tender, the salsa wasn’t too hot, the chips were fresh and the raspberry sherbet is the best. I am glad Matt’s is in Allen.

Standalone restaurant with plenty of parking. Restaurant is pretty big, clean, and in good order. Staff was very friendly and fairly helpful. Menu has a pretty good selection of Mexican food. Most with a slight twist like chile relano with pecans and raisins. Hot sauce and the optional habanero sauce are very good. Recommend.

I was so glad to find that Matt’s was nearby in Allen, Tx. After spending the last 13 years in Tarrant County I’m finally back on this side of the Metroplex. I remembered the great food and fond memories of Matt’s back in its old location in Lakewood. This used to be one of my old hangouts. My birthday is around the corner and figured I’d revisit Matt’s for an early birthday celebration. Let me tell you… Matt’s did not disappoint! I was in a party of 8 and was almost immediately sat. The waitress brought out chips and salsa for everyone. As my party snacked on chips and salsa the server came back and asked for our drink order. Everyone ordered soft drinks and I ordered a margarita. The atmosphere was quiet… it was around 4PM, today being Saturday. I noticed the restaurant was very clean. Tables and floors spotless. Silverware was already waiting at the table. When the server returned she made sure everyone had the right drinks and lastly presented me with a giant margarita goblet! We sat and snacked on chips and salsa noticing the restaurant becoming busier and busier. Unfazed the server returned back in just enough time and took our order. I had the monster chicken fried steak Cowboy style with cheese and chili on top. My party ordered chicken fajitas, chicken enchiladas, cheese enchiladas, chicken strips, Rico tacos(brisket) and a country style chicken fried steak. After about 15-20 minutes our food finally came out. Funny but our table had maybe two or three conversations going at once but when everyone took a bite of their food and then started digging in … well I couldn’t help but notice how quiet we all got. I was a little nervous that not everyone would like Matt’s but the clanging of forks and the silence as people just started eating was enough to convince anyone that Matt’s was absolute hit! Everyone started saying, “Wow this is good!” and “Hey this is good do you wanna try this if I can try that…?” lol!! All this is happening as the server is making sure we are good , glasses are full and the substitutions and special requests were handled correctly. I didn’t get her name but our SERVER WAS INCREDIBLE!!! One of my buddies at the table even said we should Matt’s a monthly get together…. everyone agreed!! Anyone who ordered the chicken fried steak had to take home the leftovers… it was HUGE! All the other orders… well the plates were almost completely clean. The margarita had me feeling no pain, not super strong but strong enough to let you know where you were… LOL. After we were all done the server came by and we cashed out. I couldn’t believe that our bill for our 5 at the table of 8 was under $100 before the nice tip we gave the server. Wow the food , the service, the prices, and a margarita with a kick is definitely enough to make me come back at least once a month to Matt’s. Thanks for the great food and great service Matt’s…consistency like this is hard to find now in days !

Update - I’ve been here several times now with friends and family and the food and service is fantastic. I will continue to visit. Idk what the low reviews are about but this has some of the best Tex mex around . A friend recommended this place to us as we have never heard of it nor have seen the any signs for it- it was absolutely delicious. The hostess was nice and Rico’s Tacos were absolutely scrumptious and stunning. The chicken fajitas were good and the salsa is amazing. I will definitely be coming back and recommending this place .

Oh Wow !! What delicious food & salsa !!! Our server "Christian" was very friendly, helpful and just plain GREAT !!!🥰 Everyone was so great including the Hostess, Server and bus girl. The atmosphere was so good !! The wall Mural was spectacular and even had a laminated numbered explanation of the mural 😊 I cannot coment on the prices because my lunch was bought for me 🙂 Thank u so much!!!! 😊 All I can say now is YUM 😋

The cowboy was an interesting take on chicken fried steak. It was delicious!

A few decades ago Grandma, as she is lovingly known in our household, gave mi esposa and I a cookbook called "Matt Martinez's Culinary Frontier." Her intent with this gift was to take our homemade TexMex, specifically queso, to the next level. And so she did, because this book revolutionized our home. You should know that Grandma is THE chef of our extended family. Drinks, meals, chunks of stuff on platters of heaven time after time. You didn't go elsewhere for Thanksgiving and other holidays because...well, why would you? She was culinarily touched by God. But I digress... The cookbook spoke of the numerous restaurant locations by this familia, but they certainly were not "here." But now they are aqui. The large swirl frozen margarita alone is a masterpiece. The happy hour price makes it... well, why don't YOU go google that one right quick. Employees are incredible and attentive front-to-back (you should know my wife and I like to drink-and-yap whilst i take una hora to decide my meal, so they were equally inattentive as requested), you've got unique food options that frequently break from the traditional, and yet your friend James can get a hamburger because "he's just not into Mexican food." Apparently Matt's has the best chicken fried steak in the land, too, but I haven't worked through the TexMex offerings yet. I'll let you know. And certainly don't leave Matt's without spending time with Bob.

I have to say I had been reluctant to come based on other reviews; however, I found this experience well worth the price and I know frequent the place 😂 The grill chicken sandwich is 🔥 fries on point - nachos 💪 and chicken enchilada and beef tostada 🔥 great service by Vico, we will be back again and again!

Isaiah was fabulous! He asked our names & addressed us accordingly throughout our meal. He took care of us, but didn’t “pester” us at all! He was courteous & attentive & was pleasant & seemed to enjoy serving our table! Oh! And I requested a change in the recipe of my chili Rellano, and he got it right! It was perfect! Yum!

Noel our server was spectacular. He accommodated my daughter’s four food allergies at the kids meal price. We had our food within 10 minutes of ordering and drinks within 60 seconds of ordering. Service with a smile. Everything was delicious and I fed a family of 5 for $37 dollars during happy hour and I had two margaritas on happy hour! My seven year old couldn’t get enough of the guacamole and my 14 year old ate the entire sampler platter. They gave us extra chips for no extra charge. Just a fantastic and fun dinner!

We live in the area, and finally visited with no particular reason. The interior is not "flashy" - but that's fine since I'm there for the food. I personally ordered chicken fajitas. We were also able to order a bottle of wine, a nice option. Our server was terrific - we never felt hurried. The food was tasty. I even loved the option of "free" sherbet ice cream - nice treat! I would go back again!

Went on a Saturday to watch a great band N8 Rule. Service was very slow as I had to text a manager. We had the famous Bob's Dip. The queso was too thick, but the meat, guacamole and sour cream helped smooth it out some. Chips were all broken. Too many glasses on tables made for an untidy look and ambiance. But once our server came , Christian, he was on top of his game. I asked some other tables for what they recommended, and they said the food was mediocre. So we just stayed with the Bob's and broken chips

Met a group in a private room. Our server was great ! We were a small group but she checked on us often. We were early and they have great happy hour food and drink specials. I had the chicken nachos and shared them and still had enough if you aren't really hungry. We will be back!

First time visiting the Allen location. I had been to the Lakewood location many times. Food ok, I've had better Tex Mex at other places. Service was good, but our server seemed a bit distracted. Will I go back probably again to try other things on the menu. But I'm not in a rush to get back, I feel there are other better options in DFW for Tex Mex.

Service was friendly, and the dining area was spacious and very relaxing. The food, however, was no better than average and didn't live up to the price. The tortilla-to-fish ratio of my fish tacos was way off. We arrived at 7:30 p.m. on a weeknight. The few tables with diners were finishing up their meals. Given how many reviewers rave about the food, I wonder whether the 9 p.m. closing time played a role in the unremarkable entree. Perhaps certain recipes weren’t fully followed as they started winding down for the night and understandably didn’t want to prep new batches of ingredients just for our one remaining order.

This is one of my sisters fave places. We ate from the lunch menu & was plenty of food. Love the chips & salsa. I had the Taco Salad & I even at the bowl. Nothing was left behind. My sister enjoys the Chile Relleno. We went on Monday & not very crowded.

We were seated quickly in a fairly empty restaurant, but then apparently forgotten about. No waters, no chip, no server anywhere to be seen. Eventually a server came to take our orders. She was sweet and personable, and saved the whole experience for us. It seems perhaps she was never told she had guests in her area to attend to. I think her name was Jaylo. We ordered the chicken fajitas with grilled shrimp. Everything was just okay. We definitely won’t be coming back, as there was nothing remarkable or even a solid GOOD.

I gave one star bc of the manager Allie, she was very nice and took care of her customers. Mine and my friend and her sons first Time here and it was overall a Terrible experience. After the hostess sat us, no one came to wait on us. I watched several staff members walk by looking right at us and still no one came. After 10 minutes I finally went to the hostess station and saw at least 6 staff members just standing around talking to each other. I had to ask for service and one of the waitresses said she didn’t even know we were over there, and she came and took our order, and then the waitress who apparently was assigned to our table finally showed up, apparently it was her first day she said. We ordered the queso with no meat bc my friend is a vegetarian and it straight up tasted and looked just like velveeta! They ordered cheese nachos and you can tell they literally microwaved them! They looked and tasted just like the nachos we made in the microwave growing up! I got the brisket tacos with rice and beans. There was only meat In my taco, no “fixins.” And the meat tasted nasty it didn’t even taste like brisket. The rice was terrible and the beans was more like a bean soup. The flour tortilla which was probably a mission tortilla, was hard on the edges and tasted like a mission tortilla. None of us ate our food, it was awful. I talked to the manager, Allie and she was nice enough to comp our food, we finished and paid for our margaritas and left.

Not only the waiter (Joel) did not wait for us to even sit when he had already asked how are we doing x3 but not in a joking manner and proceeded to get annoyed when our party was busy sitting down and did not respond in time. He was so in a hurry about getting the order when the restaurant was empty. He even told someone from our table to take his AirPod out so he can hear and maybe “be able eat in two hours.” The food was not good at all and the service matched the food. This was supposed to be a fajita plate and the steak was not even cut correctly (circles), the shredded cheese had a block of uncut cheese and the flavor was horrible. The only good thing that we ate and could eat was the beans thats it. We spent $160 for 6 people just to like the beans. Caution when you go bc looking at their good reviews it seems like its a hit or miss. For us its a never again.

Allen gives this place a bad name . It was sad to visit a place that used to be fabulous in the Lakewood area not be good at all. Service is really what ruined it for us . Our server was an elderly Hispanic man who made no effort to care or attend to anything we needed . Having never dined there it was a shock to have the experience we did . We were greeted with what do you want to drink. - no hello no suggestions no welcome vibe etc . We asked for a few minutes as we wanted to review options as it had been some years . Our server came back asked what we wanted timely we were his only table at 6pm on a Saturday (also shocking ) . We both ordered fajitas and an appetizer and had to repeat what we wanted as he wrote nothing down . I will say speed of food delivery was impressive but what wasn’t impressive was food was warmish and our appetizers and meals came out at the exact same time. We had never had the fajitas here so to our shock they were served clearly fresh off a steam table on pre warmed plates. Shrimp fajitas were excessively salted as were the chicken . Our server after bringing our food never returned to ask how everything was etc . At this point we were one if two tables in his section . Jalapeño poppers were alright and the ceviche averaged the same as the other food . We aren’t the type to send food back but this for sure was not worth the 89.00 ticket price . At the end of our meal we sat full table of dirty dishes no prebus no water refill tea refill or check in for a second margarita either ! That was the only thing that was delicious was the cocktail . The whole experience gave us a vibe of the restaurant was like an upscale panchos almost except missing the flag ha !!! And terrible service . No wonder it was empty on Saturday at 6 pm. Tex mex no!! Good not even subpar ! Would i recommend also no !
