Panda Buffet

Located downtown Alpine is this small and quiet restaurant. Staff very friendly and inviting and always checking to make sure we were doing okay. Everything ordered was amazing and fresh! Glad we passed through.

Done passed this place more times than I can count coming in and out of Laredo. Hands down some of the best Chinese food we have ever had! If it's open and we pass it, we're gonna stop!

I really liked the food here. The prices were AWESOME. So affordable! I ordered the egg roll and Chow Mein. I really enjoyed my food. The service was quick and effective. My only ding would come from the atmosphere/interior. The restaurant was a little run down on the inside. That being said I loved my food and had leftovers for later.

The food is great and made fresh to order I really enjoyed the honey chicken I got and the fryed dumplings were great too. And the rice that came with is great. All and all I definitely will be going again.

Edit/Update: I am still so glad they reopened Panda. The food is so good and comforting. I'm still very glad this family is part of our community again. The place was closed and my boyfriend knocked on the door and was greeted by the owner. He said they were closed and my boyfriend begged for food to go cause I was craving Chinese food. The owner was so kind and opened the door and made our order to go for us! The food was delicious!!! We live in Terlingua so it was a big deal for us down here!!! Thank you so much for your kindness and the delicious food!! It satisfied everything for me!! We will definitely be back, not at closing time next time!!! 🥰

We look around, and all of the guest are like this. Just odd. Food was average, but very fresh.

Food is always hot, fresh, and delicious. They have never gotten our order wrong. Large generous portions.

Service was nice. Food was excellent. Place isn't a buffet anymore due to Covid we were told. The place looks a tad run down but clean and the food makes up for it. We enjoyed it while visiting Aline.

The place is called Panda Buffet. I went in and I was greeted by a nice lady who said there's no buffet... 🤷‍♂️ I'd recommend placing a sign on the doors stating there's no buffet.

The worst Chinese food I've ever had and a horrible restaurant. Encouraged by all the good reviews on here, we stopped for dinner before going out to the Marfa lights. When we first walked in we were greeted by empty buffet tables and stacks of boxes, making us wonder if this place was actually a functioning restaurant or a money laundering front. A teenage boy greeted us in a surly way and said there was no buffet just sit down. We agreed that was OK and sat in a booth in the back dining area which is very sparsely decorated. It took about 15 minutes for the boy to get our drink orders. A woman then began to wait on us and she was much nicer with a big smile. We ordered the appetizer combination platter and I got wonton soup and my husband got beef lo mein. The kids got a plate of lo mein. The food came out surprisingly quickly in Styrofoam and plastic to go containers, making me suspicious it has been microwaved. The appetizers (fried shrimp, fried wonton, fried dumplings, egg rolls) was all right but very crispy, like it had been heated then reheated. The wonton soup had no flavor and the wontons were like thick, uncooked dough but the meat at center was hard and dry like it had been overcooked. There were no vegetables or other inclusions, just some green onions floating in what appeared to be fetid dishwater. My husband's lo mein and the kids' lo mein was cooked fine but the brown sauce tasted like dog sweat. My husband found a hair in the teriyaki chicken skewers which were textured like beef jerky. The best part of the meal was the fortune cookies. Please don't let the other reviews fool you, this place is awful.

Oh man the food was bad, bad, bad! I’ve never met a plate I can’t finish and I didn’t finish any of it. I tried the beef and broccoli, the orange chicken and beef onion mix. The beef tasted way off! The orange sauce was terrible. I’ve never had orange sauce like that. The spring roll was NASTY. I’ve never left that much food untouched in my life. The rice was even bad. It’s not a buffet and it’s not a place to ever come to. The people were friendly but the food was gross. 🤮 the wait staff was children, probably 13/14. Very young but he was kind. I can’t get over how bad the food was. Never ever again.

There is no buffet. The teriyaki chicken appetizer was average. The main meal appeared to be prepackaged in plastic containers and most likely heated in a microwave. The server was friendly and courteous. The atmosphere was dull. There are better places in the area to eat. Not Recommended.
