We went recently and had the best meal! The waiter was so kind and fast and caring. We each had something different and they came out piping hot and very little wait time even though they seemed so busy! We were really impressed the food was so good I cant wait to go back! As always food is fast, plentiful, and great. We come here at least once a week sometimes twice. Never disappoints. Want to comment on review posted by Angeodragon Lord a week ago about service dog. These people bring a6 month old puppy into the restaurant and claim it as a service dog. She couldn't control him and he was walking around sniffing people and climbed in my wife's lap. The staff actually handled it professionally and it was myself that was rude and loud. And if you want to celebrate a birthday leave the puppy at home. Service dogs require extensive training. Not coming back actually raises the class level here. Thank you

We eat at Jorge’s often and it is Amazing every time! They are fast at seating us and very accommodating to our seating requests. The food is always delicious!!! The customer service is perfect, very friendly and always recognizes us when we are in the restaurant. Jennie, in management, if phenomenal and goes above and beyond at making us feel welcome…like family.

This is a great place to eat. Our wait was about 40 minutes and it took about 35 minutes to get our food. They were really busy while we were there though.

Aubrey was our server, and she was absolutely phenomenal. She was fun to interact with, and she really took care of us. She made sure our drinks and salsas stayed full, and was in such a pleasant mood and had a great sense of humor. By far the best service we’ve experienced at Jorge’s!

Very good Mexican food and a nice atmosphere.

All that’s circled is what we had and it was absolutely delicious. The sauce with the Cancun was perfect (ask for tortillas) for soaking up all the delicious goodness. The relleno frito was on point from the one bite that got. Our waitress Drew was on the gas whenever we asked for anything. The kitchen deserves a mention as well. 12-15 minutes, food was on our table and hot and fresh. Can’t say enough about this experience. Will definitely be back.

I celebrated my birthday at Jorge’s and it was unforgettable 🩷 Always a great experience at the best Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurant in the Panhandle of Texas! The trio fajitas are always on point and the cocktails are delicious! The mini beef shot is the best in town! I can never leave Jorge’s without eating the apple pie! The service is amazing! The green salsa is delicious, try it if you have not!

Easily one of the best restaurants in Amarillo and one of my favorite places to get Mexican and Tex-Mex food. Great service, great variety , and great food. They have an nice, large bar area too. It’s just a little on the expensive side, but what’s not these days? It’s absolutely worth it here. The Green Chile Guisado is very authentic and the best version of it I have ever had. It’s one of my favorite things to eat. They also probably have the best queso in town. If you haven’t been here, I highly recommend that you try it out.

While visiting Amarillo for work, I reached out to a college buddy who has lived in Amarillo for restaurant recommendations and Jorge’s was at the top of his list. When I arrived the restaurant was very busy but I was able to get a table with my coworker. We were served fresh, warm tortilla chips and fresh salsa, which were delicious. Our waitress was very kind and was prompt with our food and drinks. I ordered the Carne Asada and my coworker had a Chicken Enchilada. We both could only eat half of our meals because we filled up on chips and salsa but the food was delicious, perfectly seasoned, and filling. I will definitely be back. Great food and service

Well when Mom tells you she wants to come back, take it as great complaint she is very picky about the rice, she said it was very good. Great atmosphere fast service and we had a great waitress her name was Evelyn who served with a great smile. This was great! I ended up getting the chicken & steak fajitas! The steak was great, would do just steak next time! They serve chips and salsa! Also was very cool that they prepare guac right in front of you! Flour tortillas tasted fresh! Would recommend if you are in the area craving tex-mex!

Was told to go here by a couple of people while we were in town. Went for lunch and it didn't disappoint. We had queso and it was excellent, not "just" another cheese dip. I had the burrito off the lunch menu and my wife had the lunch quesadillas. Both were excellent. Staff was friendly and the restaurant was very clean. Will be back next time we come through the area.

This place is fantastic! Some of the best Tex Mex we have ever experienced in a long time. Being from Fort Worth Texas, we've always compared Mexican food to Joe T Garcias...well, you have met your match Joe T! The super sized burrito, which was recommended by our waiter, was exquisite; however, there are no words that can explain how good the side dish of their specialty recipe of papas were! You definitely will not go wrong trying them out if you're visiting Amarillo, Texas.

We stopped at this place, driving back to Texas from Colorado. It was packed, however we only waited about 5-10 minutes. The service was great, food was great and prompt. The banana berry colada was amazing as well.

We go there every chance we get. The food is wonderful, the staff is 10i0% and our favorite waitress is Evette, she is fast friendly and very attentive!

They told me to park in the front and wait for someone to come out for my pickup order. I waited five minutes and no one came out so I called and they said they would sent someone out. I waited eight minutes and when no one came I went inside and picked up my order. It was still warm when I got home across town. It was worth the drive and wait. My food was really delicious, the chips and salsa were really delicious. I really enjoyed how everything was seasoned, I didn't need to add salt or anything, it was seasoned how I would season my own cooking. I recommend!

Second time dining here, second time ordering the Albarran tacos. These tacos are delicious. Their single fault is that they do not come in tacos trays. Thus, the tacos are soaked in beans or cheesy papas. They’re still delicious, but slippery & harder to handle. Getting seated was very fast, and the host accommodated our party. Kitchen was pretty quick with our meals. Cheesy papas taste great when dipped with tostadas.

If there is one thing Amarillo has a lot of, it is Tex-Mex restaurants. If you like this style of food, you won’t starve here. The only issue is that many of them are so similar as to be nearly indistinguishable. It’s almost as if they could have a stock menu shared between them, the only difference being the name on it. And yet I like Jorge’s about the most of the many similar competitors here. While the offerings are certainly not all that different or unique, I can always count on Jorge’s to serve a fine dish of Tex-Mex standards. Consistency is the key here. On the night I last visited, I found myself in search of a late dinner. This was late enough that kitchens start shutting down, yet Jorge’s was still very much open and willing to serve. I ordered veggie fajitas which I did not find on the menu, but my server was happy to accommodate. The service was lightning fast and friendly. It’s hard for basic Tex-Mex establishments to distinguish themselves in food, because it all begins to look the same. But consistent quality and excellent service push Jorge’s to the top of my list when considering this style of food.

This is a family owned restaurant which has another restaurant in Lubbock. I live in Fort Worth Texas but when we come to Amarillo this is where we eat. Be prepared to wait because it's such a great restaurant. My favorite item to eat is the chill relleno crispy. You must try the papas!

My fiancé and I ate out here for a celebration Saturday night. The wait to be seated especially for a dinner rush was very short. Barely was there for 5 to 10 minutes and was seated. We started with some good chips, salsa with a cup of queso. For dinner I had the Shrimp Cancun (which is a new menu item so definitely try it) and Fajita Enchilada. The food was really delicious. This is second time I’ve tried the Cancun except this time I tried the shrimp instead I fb the chicken. It’s a very big portion so don’t feel bad if you don’t eat all of it. I definitely recommend coming to Jorge’s and definitely recommend the food with a good beer on a Saturday night with a lot of the football games happening at once. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating.

Chips and salsa are on point! Salsa has a fair amount of bite, but that's the way I like it! Queso was great as well. Was there with a large party in between meals, so not much to review on main courses, or, may have been moved to 5 star.

We went at kind of a busy time so that dampened the atmosphere, not a huge deal I just don't like being sat at a table that's in the middle of the floor in a bright room (doesn't fit my idea of a Mexican Restaurant). Server was OK, he was about 8 feet tall and when he took our order he didn't kneel down to get closer to us. Thus leaving his "weist line" in our faces. He also wasn't very responsive to bus the table while we were dining. He was very nice though. As for the food. It was great, our whole table was very happy with the food.

Jorge's has a secret "hot" salsa that is excellent and so are the spinach enchiladas and papas.

I had the chicken sopapillas, my only thing I didn't care for about them, the chicken was a bit to salty for me, and the sopapilla got soggy pretty fast, which was a little disappointing for me. I met up with coworkers here on a Friday afternoon. I wasn't in the mood for alcohol but I did order food. I got the carne caliente and asked for two fried eggs on it, but the kitchen didn't add the eggs. I did beans and potatoes as the sides. The corn tortillas are the plain ones you can get at the grocery store, slightly heated. The carne had a good flavor, but I couldn't quite decide if I liked the sauce. It seemed like a hot sauce mixed with enchilada sauce. The eggs would've elevated the dish. Service was great considering there were about 15 of us and one server took care of the table in the bar area. I don't usually get to this side of town so it's been a while since I was at Jorge's. When I left around 7 on a Friday there were about 6 groups waiting for a seat. Food is a bit pricey but not out of line for current standards, I paid $20 before tip. I would go back.

Good recommendation by a friend to try Jorge's while I was in town. Nice size seating area. Got to a table quickly even though was dinner time. 3 beef enchiladas with queso, rice, beans. Everything tasted good. Enchiladas were a good size. Sopapillas for dessert were awesome. Definitely recommend Jorge's in Amarillo.

7.29.24 Visit for dinner. Friendly staff. Chips were a little thicker than most places and were good along with the hot sauce. Started with half order of beef/bean cheese nachos. Toppings were loaded and almost a meal alone. Combo fajitas for one, meal was good. Beef was a little tough, and chicken was good but not as flavorful as other places. All in it was a pleasant experience and recommend just not highly recommended.

Atmosphere is fun and very Tex-mex. Food looked okay, I ordered the Mexico Lindo Nachos. I got more chips than any toppings or queso, food wasn’t seasoned well. Looking at everyone’s meal it all looked okay, a guest in our table got the wrong order. It’s Saturday, which is understandable for a busy night at the restaurant but our party was sat next to another table about 2 feet away from us. I’m not wanting covid restrictions and social distancing, but getting up to leave was difficult and we had to inconvenience the party that was sat next to us to make room for us to leave. Service was good and house cocktails were great! Just disappointed at the food and the spacing/atmosphere in the restaurant.

Came to Amarillo for vacation, Jorges was close to our Air bnb and we read the reviews, It seemed very good, We sat down and immediately got serviced, Drinks were sour but that's alright, Got a Queso Blanco, It was amazing! My wife and I ordered the combination fajitas for two and the amount of food that came out left us both hungry. There was an improvement on the queso from last time but we could not stand the aftertaste the beans left in our mouths. The rice tasted like overcooked boxed rice. I loved this place but it has been going downhill lately so I am not sure when I will come back or if I will look elsewhere for my mexican fix. I would like to say that the waitress Kristy was excellent.

My husband and I recently moved to the Amarillo area. We saw this place had decent reviews. The chicken fajitas were spot on. However, my husband's steak fajitas seemed to be a lesser cut of cube steak. It was very stringy and not a good cut of meat. The service and atmosphere were wonderful but it was very overpriced ($75 for the two of us with sweet tea to drink) for the meat we got.

The food wasn't bad but it wasn't outstanding either. Average to Good I would say. Typical menu items with a pretty big variety. One of the few places in Amarillo you can get stuffed avocados although that's not what I ordered. I got avocado enchiladas with sour cream sauce. It came with refried beans and Pappas (basically Mexican mashed potatoes). The Pappas portion was super small and too thin of a texture for my liking the flavor was good. The enchilada was very tasty but pretty small and was mostly sauce. I do have to say that the tortillas were amazing, fresh and out of this world! I feel like the menu is way overpriced. Most items were in the $17 to $23 range and the rest were higher than that. For average food, I felt it was overpriced. But for a good solid Tex-Mex meal and if I didn't mind spending the money, I would probably go back.

Decent service. Nothing to write home about. Got the fajitas and the meat was way over seasoned and the beef was super chewy. The tortillas were the only good thing of that meal. My sister got the stuffed avocado meal and was not good. It was way overdone and not enough batter on the outside. The cheese enchilada was the onlybgood thing of that meal.

Combination Fajitas (steak and shrimp) shrimp was over cooked and only 7 shrimp on platter, requested more shrimp and shrimp that were properly cooked. Server said the portions were pre-determined and she would not grant my request. Guacamole was not included on the plates with the sides for the fajitas, had to ask for the guacamole. Very disappointed. Negative experience.

We went to go eat Saturday around 4ish. The waitress we had was so soft spoken, I kept asking her to repeat herself. She brought our drinks with barely any ice, as if they were running low, but after looking at others drinks they had way more than ours. The food was great but then we ordered the apple pie for dessert. The waitress brings a slice of pie on a hot skillet without the ice cream or butter on it. She places the pie in between us but more towards my husband then starts pouring the butter on the pie and onto the HOT skillet. The butter splattered all over the table and all over my Husband’s slacks. He asked if that is how they do it all the time, meaning pouring the toppings in front of the customer which the waitress replied yes. We knew it wasn’t because we’d been there before specifically for the pie. After cutting into the pie it was solid frozen. We asked her to remove it off the ticket. At this point I was done and very disappointed that I requested to speak to a manager on our way out. The girl said yes, he’s right here, then proceeded to tell him we needed to speak to him, he was in such a rush that he pretty much dismissed her and walked away. He came back and we explained everything that happened and he apologized and gave us a 25 dollar voucher almost like he was just trying to hurry up so he could get back to what he was doing. We haven’t been to this place in almost 10 years and coming back to it reminds me why we stayed away from.

Atmosphere and music was good.. Waitress was not so friendly.. queso was good until the end when my son pulled out a hair. After that, food was not so tasty!!

We went November 30th and was thrown out by managers for having a service dog because my mother needed her service dog for her diabetes. The managers were so loud and rude, and unprofessional on how they treated us.we were loyal customers now they have lost our business. It was my wife's 40th birthday and they ruined it.

Called to try and set up a reservation. We had a table of 12-13 people so wanted to make sure they could accommodate that. The gentleman on the phone said they do not do reservations. I told him that was fine. But wanted to make sure at prime dinner time (around 7:30 on a Saturday) they would be able to handle a table that size without issue. He just continued to remind me they do not make reservations. He then told me that we were welcome to come in and wait but most likely will be waiting over an hour. Which I assume with a table that size would be longer if they are not prepared for it. We usually like Jorges but the customer service and attitude that represented that we don't need your business was a huge disappointment.

Ordered a kids meal for my daughter who is 13 but They would not do it for her because she is not 12 so we decided to leave . They preferred us to not eat there as opposed to spending money there. I will never go back. Management said ok leave did not try to help the situation.

We ordered food for our grandparents, who had just come home from surgery, and wanted to bring them a nice meal. When we got to their house, we realized the restaurant gave us the wrong order. We immediately called and explained everything clearly over the phone what we ordered, what we were charged for, and what we actually received. The receipt clearly showed that we paid for the missing items. We understood they were busy, but instead of helping or trying to make it right, they told us we were wrong and took no responsibility. I even explained that if the food had been for me, I wouldn’t have cared I’d eat whatever. But this wasn’t for me; it was for our grandparents, and this was the food the patient wanted after surgery. That’s what made it so disappointing. The food itself has always been great, and we’ve spent a lot of money here over the years. But this experience showed a complete lack of customer service or care. When you spend nearly $100 on dinner and the restaurant won’t fix their mistake, it’s hard to go back.
