Thai Spoon Restaurant

Sorry I have no photos to post because I wiped out the fresh made fried spring roles the chicken and coconut milk soup and the chicken pad thai! The person I went with also wiped out Charlie's Noodles with beef! I found the place because I was in a pinch a restaurant downtown was packed so I opted to find a Thai place close and found Thai Spoon! It's off the beat and path and do not understand why it was empty at lunch time! I will be back and will bring more friends ! Food was authentic and the owner was so kind and shared free grapes and lol a hairy ball size of a golf ball that u pealed and tasted like a plum. All food was fresh and seasoned to my liking and the Thai tea was delicious! Been back since and i love this place not ur typical thai but original thai and it is good!

Thai Spoon is an absolute gem hidden on the outskirts of downtown Amarillo. In my opinion they have the best Egg Rolls in town. All of their dishes are fresh and made to order. The Pad Thai is outstanding, the Lad Na is incredibly flavorful. The complimentary watermelon was a refreshing touch. If you are looking for a quiet place to enjoy some amazing food, I highly recommend you make the trip.

Seriously dont pay attention to the bad reviews, just because this dishes are not over loaded with oil, butter, or other fattening things people are use to. I make food for a living. This was the best, cleanest, flavorfilled, life-changing cuisine I've had in a long time. One thing I struggle with is using too much oil/butter/that good flavored fat in whatever I make. Eating this I don't feel like I gained 10lbs, I feel good, more awake, energized. The vegetables where perfect, having their own flavor so you can't help but finish the entire portion. Again I cannot stress how clean this food is and how good it made me feel absolutely consuming it. I thank the family behind such a delightful experience and will do my best to support a small family owed business like this.

This place is absolutely the best! A family affair and they make you feel like family too. The owner /cook is amazing and I love the seafood soup. I always get it spicy and it's always perfect! The prices are reasonable and everyone I've ever brought here has been impressed.

Great food and the family that works/owns the restaurant are very friendly. The kids loved all the fish tanks. The pepper steak was amazing. Will definitely go again next time we visit Amarillo.

Looking for a "Dive" that serves authentic Thai cuisine? You have found your place. Thai spoon has been our family's go-to for excellent Thai food for years now. The little lady that owns the place is awesome. She's so friendly and hospitable. It's not usually busy, so it's easy to get in and out quick, if you need to, or there's always time to sit and visit a while too. Either way, you won't be disappointed. Give it a whirl!!!

Had them deliver food,took about an hour and a half.and just left it at my door without telling me,the temp.outside was about 30 deg.im glad the delivery charge was ONLY $10.

I was really disappointed after seeing all the good reviews and thinking I had found a new Thai spot. This is supposedly “beef broccoli” with fried rice, beef jerky and egg drop soup. Obviously not beef broccoli and it was also 11$.... for a table spoon of meat and 5 pieces of broccoli. Not even the rice was decent. Mushy and soft. So gross. Beef jerky was dry and hard so it went in the trash Egg drop soup was absolutely flavorless besides the eggs taste and it had so much cornstarch it was white colored and so thick it was literally inedible. Save your money and go to my Thai or taste of Thai. Even Thai arena is better than here.

The Pad Thai was kinda pink for some weird reason. I paid 75 for a large late lunch order and I will not again eat there again. It’s kinda shocking how these places manage to stay open. The quality just isn’t there. Basically these ingredients aren’t expensive. Overall this has been a really bad experience. Waste of money.

I ordered the beef pho and beef pad Thai. They claim to use rice noodles, but I received what appears to be ramen noodles for both dishes. The soup broth was so salty I couldn’t eat it and it didn’t come with basil, cilantro, hoisen or sriacha, it came with chopped Romain lettuce put in the soup. I’ve never had Romain lettuce in soup and don’t intend to start now. The meat that came in both dishes was so over cooked and grizzled, it was inedible. I also received some mystery meat for the soup. The pad Thai was a solid clump if noodles with just a few pieces of overcooked beef and inedible as well. When I called to speak with them, they assured me they were a traditional Thai Restaurant, but I can assure you this is not so. I don’t know what this is tbh. I had to go through DoorDash for my refund, no problems there. Super disappointed though and still hungry. I would pass on this place if looking for true Thai food.

After arriving at the restaurant, we were informed none of the authentic dishes were being offered. The tables stink of bleach and after ordering Thai fish soup, the smell of the soup was so stinky that we could not figure out what was the odor. One of the most unpleasant dining experiences I have ever had. I hope this 'restaurant' (so called) will be out of business soon. I am sorry but sometimes it is better to know the truth and move on.
