Y'all, don't miss this place for burgers and also their brisket quesadillas! You heard me, brisket quesadillas 🤤 I have gotten burgers many times here and wanted to try something different. They did not disappoint. Take the drive have one of their many varieties of soda or beer from the fridge and the tap. Also, the service is is always top notch 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Store and restaurant are always clean and neat. It has a very Hometown feeling and the food is amazing!
I had a bacon cheeseburger that was delicious! It was huge! I love that people share tables here...benches at picnic tables. It's so easy to strike up a conversation with others... or not if you so choose. And, I love getting a bottle of soda pop because there are so many to choose from.
Enjoyable food. The simple menu made getting our food quick, nice and hot. Good drafts to choose from, and enough seating space outside to enjoy late afternoons with friends.
Great place to eat a good burger! Just bring extra cash!
Hamburgers are delicious and huge. I loved the green chile burger.
Best GreenChile Cheeseburger I have had in the whole state of Texas! Lara was incredibly nice and super helpful. This place absolutely rocks. Do your self a favor and got get a burger and a fresh beer. I will be back again and again !
Best hamburgers around. Share ONE with a friend because they are HUGE! UPDATE: Returned on 07/2025. Hamburgers weren't as good as I remembered. Without saying anything to my wife, she made the comment that they weren't as tasty as before. Still good but not overwhelming. Onion rings & fries were good.
Good food, pretty pricey though.
Excellent place to stop for a burger and beer! I've been here many times and always 10/10. My only request is they add a phone number or online ordering for convenience. There have been multiple days where I pick food up somewhere else due to having to wait 10-15min after ordering here.
Great hamburgers and friendly service! Because I didn't want a bun, they served mine between lots of crisp lettuce leaves with large tomato and red onion slices and pickles. I also enjoyed a side of onion rings. My husband and brother-in-law enjoyed their burgers with fries. Portions were more than ample. While the guys were able to finish their Texas-sized portions, I took home half my burger and onion rings. Great value and excellent food! Love this place for casual dining at its best.
The sign says world’s best burgers and they aren’t lying. Burgers were perfect, fries were fresh and hot and I absolutely loved the variety of bottled sodas. So glad we saw this sign and couldn’t pass it up. I’ll be back soon to enjoy another burger and if you’re in the area I suggest you check them out.
Homemade hamburgers were delicious. Recommend straying from the main road for a burger here.
Food is cooked fresh when you order the fixings on my cheeseburger was so good onion rings and fries are great too. They also have a great variety of soft drinks to choose from. Service was great and they all had smiles. I will go there again!😀
I love this place. It is small town Texas at its finest. The folks there are always kind and the food is great. I ride out with my friends and it is an event. This is the burger I would make at home. Please don't change anything.
There are good burgers everywhere. This place has Good burgers! (I had the Hatch green chili burger and it had some great heat) Good onion rings! Very fast service for a fresh, cooked to order burger. What I really liked, was the owner greeted me like an old friend, when it was my first time here. She saw us off from the front steps and hoped we would come back again and we definitely will.
Hands down the best burgers in the area. Found this little place while watching Daytripper once Sunday morning. We've been a FAN of their burgers ever since. We normally visit on the weekends, and try to get there within 30min of opening. Tables are quickly filled up during the lunch rush. However we have never had to wait on a table.
Bacon cheese burger was delicious. The bacon cooked just right. Corn dogs were perfectly fried.
O my god, the best burger I've had in my life. Perfect for lunch after spending our morning at Tony's Shooting Range. The burger just melts in your mouth, I had the Jalapeno Burger, others had the cheeseburger, my daughter had a burger & my uncle had a BLT, all excellent. Spotlessly clean with a old fashioned store front, loved it & would recommend to anyone. They had root beer on tap, I had the cherry soda & all good. Very cheaply priced too. Go here, you wont regret it.
I travel around central Texas and try burger joints/places to see who has the best burgers….Andice General Store ranks in the top 3 IMO…..
The employees seemed like they were happy to be there. That says a lot about the management. The last time I was there was probably about 7 years ago and things were passable then but MUCH improved this time. The food was fresh and tasted great, the service was attentive but not intrusive, and the place was very clean. We took our family there who are from out of town and they all enjoyed it.
I found the Andice general store from a recommendation from a friend in the Georgetown Texas area. I was told that this was a great place to get a great burger. That was an excellent recommendation. This little store in a tiny Hamlet is actually a wonderful burger stand. When I walked in, the really kind staff was helpful and gave me good advice on what to order. The store has a wooden picnic tabless inside and out for sitting at. The food was served quickly and served hot. I got a bacon cheeseburger and fries. It was great! The prices were reasonable, and the staff was friendly. The little store was well stocked with soda and beer of old American brands. The menu included several burger options, fries, onion rings, and some tacos. I am so glad I found this little gem and that my friends recommended it. I will be back!
It's been years since I visited the General Store (used to live just a few miles away), but a recent sprucing-up and good word-of-mouth advertising convinced me and a friend to make the short drive to check it out. They've added a rustic new facade and a lovely covered outdoor dining area. There's a large cooler inside with a wonderful selection of beverages, and several beers on tap (I highly recommend the Bill Pickett Porter, named after a local boy who made it big as a rodeo and Wild West Show performer and even acted a bit, and has been inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame). While their green chile burger is the current showpiece, we opted for milder selections - I got the bacon cheeseburger and my friend chose the pulled pork sandwich and we shared onion rings - and it was all great. It was delightful to sit outside as dusk fell, enjoying good conversation and terrific Texas comfort food, then watching the sun sink behind the huge trees that surround the place. We both picked up a jar of their specialty jams - looking forward to trying the yummy-sounding Cinnamon Pear Jam soon. All in all, a very pleasant experience that I plan to have again in the very near future. Someday, I might take a chance on that green chile burger --
A destination road trip, all for a 🍔 burger, a 🥓bacon, 🧀 cheese, jalapeño burger. It was well worth the drive; it did not disappoint; it was juicy, thick, and full of taste. The burger was served with paper towels to wipe the juice of the great, excellent burger. The building was a small circa 1937 general store. No one wore masks in a COVID world, and state. Frightening! Food to 🚶go.
Great burgers, can’t wait to return and try other menu items
We've eaten here a few times now. The burgers are delicious and the staff is so friendly! They serve you with true southern hospitality!
Love this place. Hard to find a good family owned restaurant and this has atmosphere to boot! 1/2 pound burgers fixed many unique ways. Great fries and onion rings!!!! All drinks are bottled in the “wall of coolers”. Even has a patio for nice weather!! Kudos to the owners and staff. Good job!!
Great burgers, excellent beers to choose from, and a really friendly staff. I really enjoy it for lunch or happy hour!
I've lived in the Austin area for almost 6 years now and finally made my way to Andice General Store. I'm so extremely glad I finally did. Andice General Store has by far one of the best hamburgers I've ever had. Specifically their bacon cheeseburger. The burger was well seasoned, the bacon was plentiful, and all the fixings were extremely fresh. The fries were well cooked, crispy on the outside, soft and pillowy on the inside. Every employee there was incredibly friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was nice and all the other customers were friendly as well, I even had a great conversation with an older couple that shared a table with my son and I. I recommend Andice General Store to any burger lover, easily one of the best burgers I've ever had, simple yet well executed.
This was our first time here. We’d heard about it from several people but just never made the decision to go. Boy was that a mistake. They have one of the best hamburgers we’ve ever had. Good selection of burgers. Something for every burger aficionado. Large enough to share; which we did. Quaint place with a true country vibe. We’ll go back when we feel the need for a burger fix.
Found myself in the middle of nowhere at lunch time and found this place. Prices a little steep $20 for burger and fries but the food was so good. Burger was fresh and just the kind of thing you would expect to find in a place like this. Super small space and busy because the food is good.
Stopped by for an award winning hamburger after returning from Killeen to get our COVID vaccinations. I've heard nothing but great things about the burgers here. It's a destination in it's own cause there's nothing else close by. My wife and I split a hatch green chile cheeseburger and a bacon cheeseburger along with an order of fries. Both burgers were home runs. The meat was seasoned just right, juicy and not overcooked. Loads of bacon and tons of flavor. The hatch burger was equally delicious with a nice "bite" of heat. The veggies (tomatoes, lettuce, onions) were fresh, crisp and topped off both burgers perfectly. I'm glad we split the fries...it was plenty for both of us. After our lunch I too join the chorus of those who praise the burgers here. It's a little pricey but worth a trip to treat yourself to a good old tasty hamburger 🍔. I'd bet the other menu items are pretty good too but may never even try them.
This is a totally charming small watering hole out in the hill country west of Georgetown Texas. They offer a wide variety of beverages, including several beers on tap, bottled beers of all sorts, and a variety of boutique soft drinks as well. If you are looking for delicious food, they offer up some of the best burgers around! And many other tasty dishes... Which you can enjoy indoors or out on their pleasant patio. Finally, out back is some open space for running a dog or whatever else might suit your fancy.
TEXAS ROADSIDE TREASURE. Very friendly order-taker and conscientious waitress. The place is clean and the food was fresh. We both ordered the cheeseburgers and fries and were completly satisfied. We will make this a regular stop when we camp at Cedar Breaks Park on Lake Georgetown.
This spot is more “If you know, you know.” It’s a General Store/Food spot. They sell frozen meat, hot food (burgers, fries, onion rings, etc) and they have beer! We got lucky, we happened to chit chat with a local bartender by a coffee shop. Her name is Erin and she recommended us probably one of the best burgers I’ve had. It’s simple but it hits everything you need for a burger. The size is also pretty big, the locals recommended to split them in half. They were not lying, they were huge lol Now that we know this place, we will definitely come back. It’s a little drive for us from Killeen, but it is worth the drive! Southern hospitality, southern food, southern vibes. We will come back! As much as we want to keep this hole in the wall a secret, it’s pretty good burgers need sharing with other people! :)
No wait when we arrived to try Andice General Store for the first time. Had a very delicious cheeseburger no onions, along with a tray of fries to share, so good! Also tried the onion rings and thought they were better than the fries! FYI everything is priced separately, no combos. Drinks are available in bottles or on tap, no refills. Kinda cozy place with bench and table seating inside and out. The restroom is kind of a trek outside if you need to visit. Nice place for lunch.
I loved the country store setting. The burger was delicious and huge. It took me a moment to determine how to attack it.😉 Now the folks working there, are the best.
As a small town boy, I absolutely love this place. It reminds me of home. The hamburger cedar are amazing, the french fries are too. If you like root beer, this is the place for you, they've got so many varieties of bottled root beer that it is hard to choose just one. Luckily you don't have to, I usually go home with a six pack of assorted root beers. By the way, the onion rings are amazing too.
Not too far off the beaten path, just off of highway 183 between Lampasas and Austin is this wonderful General Store which serves an awesome lunch. We always opt for the burger and fries with a soda pop of which there are many to choose from. We love the friendliness of the visitors who have welcomed us to sit at their table, when busy, and the shop keeper who takes our order and brings our meal to our table when we visit. There aren't many of these type places, and this is a gem worth visiting.
In my 63 years, I’ve eaten hamburgers in all parts of the country and Andice General Store offers a top notch burger experience. I had the jalapeno cheeseburger and it easily makes my Top 3 all-time! Extremely friendly staff as well.
The burgers and onion rings were absolutely wonderful and the staff were so helpful and friendly. We shared a table with another gentleman, as it was pretty busy, and had a great visit with a total stranger. What a fantastic experience.
The chicken fried steak sandwich is the best thing you will ever eat! Burgers are great as well. Overall great food and friendly staff
A friend recommended the hamburgers so I decided to make the 15 minute drive to Andice to check it out, along with my special needs stepson. We were not disappointed. I had the 1/2 pound bacon cheeseburger with everything on it. My stepson had a regular hamburger with french fries & a Sprite. The food was delicious. The service was prompt & friendly. There were only about 6 or 7 small tables inside, but it was cozy. So cozy, in fact, we struck up conversations with several of the patrons eating inside. We left happy & with full tummies. I highly recommend making the short drive to Andice General Store if you want a casual country store environment, a savory hamburger, or maybe just a friendly conversation.
Can't say enough good things about this place. Really nice, friendly people. The best burger and onion rings I have had in a very long time. A very comfortable atmosphere with some neat old time decorations (think old oil cans). I highly recommend the Hatch chili cheese burger. It has some spicy heat and great overall flavor. The onion rings are crispy, lightly battered and delicious. They have a great selection of sodas in coolers when you walk in. They use the counter ordering method and brought my food to me at one of the picnic style tables inside. There was ketchup and hot sauce on the table, but you really don't need either. Parking area is minimal, but sufficient. Just take a nice drive out there and enjoy. They also have some grassy areas for the dogs with picnic tables.
Went just to try the burger. The cheeseburger and fries I got were made really well with fresh veggies and a Homemade looking bun. One of the best burgers in this area, the hype is real for this place. Fries were crispy and well done. The drinks are single serve bottles of different brands of sodas. Dublin® is among the brands.
They were super friendly from the moment I stepped in. I ordered the green chili burger, onion rings, and an xxx root beer. It was about $24 before tip. It isn't really a budget place, but everything was really good and high quality, so it felt appropriate to me. The burger was cooked nicely, seasoned well, soft potato bun (Martin's), and was almost too big for me to finish (I finished it though). The onion rings were really nicely cooked. Light and crunchy without being greasy. They were some of the best onion rings I've had in a long time. I came in right at 11 am after they were closed for two days, so I'm sure it was clean oil and fresh made batter, so your experience might not be as mind-blowing as mine. The bottled drink selection was on another level. There must have been close to 10 different Root Beer options, so I went with one I had never tried, and it didn't disappoint. My only complaint, because there has to be something, is that the floor is really bouncy. It's an old building with an old pier and beam foundation (I assume), so when you're sitting at a table and someone is walking by, it feels like you're eating on a boat. The rest of the restaurant feels nicely updated while keeping most of the charm. It feels very clean, and I think the owners take pride in their restaurant (as they should) I would not have expected to have one of the best burgers I've had in a long time in Andice, but this place is worth going out of your way for.
UPDATED: Been here several times now! And just omg amazing every time! The lady at the counter is so sweet too! The hospitality here is above and beyond 🙏 First time coming here! Not sure why I have not came by sooner living so close to it. Definitely will be returning . Friendly service. Clean cute establishment with a nice patio to eat on as well. You can eat inside but the day was so pretty decided to sit outside. My Fiancée and I went for a late lunch and was not disappointed . Started off with the onion rings. All I need to say was they were ate so quickly I didn’t have a chance to take a pic of how delicious they looked. My Fiancée ordered the Rodeo burger and I ordered the chicken fried steak sandwich; both were so flavorful and amazing. We both were super impressed and decided we definitely would come back with the kiddos . Thanks for the great friendly service and awesome food. Made my day a little better :)
Rodeo burger is awesome. (We tried each others burgers and they were all good) Chicken fried sandwich ok. Grilled Cheese for kid real good. Soda selection is awesome. Onion rings are solid. Crinkle cut fries were the only weakness. We bought some Chorizo, Jam, and bbq sauce for later. Very cool place for a quick bite.
This place is amazing. A friend of my told me I should check it out. My husband and I decided to take a drive out I Andice to see what all the fuss was about. We arrived and found a parking spot straight away, there was what appeared to be overflow parking available across the street. The burgers onion rings and fries e were large portions, the had a large variety of v bottled beverages and beer on tap as well. We’re definitely going to head out there again for more of this deliciousness.
I'd give this place a 5-star, but they messed up on my order. However, the food is legit. Good place to stop if you are in the area. I made a special trip to come here for lunch from Georgetown. Try the green chili cheeseburger. Good heat but not overbearing. It's made with real #hatch green chili. I'm glad because it's a New Mexico flavor that makes me come back here. I definitely recommend this place.
Super cool little spot. Old fashioned charred burgers were really good. Great buttered buns. Freshly made onion rings. Super friendly service. My only knock would be that the burgers didn’t seem to be grilled fresh to order. We got them in about 5 minutes and they were warm but not hot. That’s ok, I am sure that is the process to allow quick service. Looking. Forward to trying the smoked items.
Great place in a remote area to spent some time out . Service was really good as the young girl at the counter was very kind and helpful .I was there while attending to a wedding reception but still wanted to have a small brunch since I am a vegetarian . Their Food was really good and fresh .
Burger was good; I'm not at all disappointed for talking their recommendation of the green Chili cheeseburger (although I should have specified i wanted it cooked medium - it came well done but still somewhat juicy). The bun was flat but delicious. Service was friendly & it's amazing that a little place like this just happens to have einstök toasted porter on draft. 2 stars for atmosphere because there was nowhere to sit inside & i had to sit outside in the cold (40°). If they had smaller tables, I would have been able to find a seat inside. More than one of the 4-top tables had 2 customers or less.
Been wanting to try this for awhile. Heard both good and so-so reports from people. Stopped by on a day out with the family. Lunch time was fairly busy. Not a large inside seating area but there is a outdoor shaded patio. We managed to dodge the rain storms. Had the simple bacon cheeseburger with a slice of onion and fries. Good service and didnt have to wait too long. Fries were fine, basic crinkle cut. Burger had outstanding flavor and wonderful char. Great bun as well, burger was just a touch dry. Pretty good lunch, not oh my gosh outstanding but worth a stop.
Back in Austin for work. Saw this location on a food show, so we had to come try it since it's only 30 minutes from the hotel. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly and placed our orders. I had the brisket taco (more of a burrito really), which was good. The brisket was moist but lacked that slow cooked bark. I also got a regular burger...solid! My buddy had the green chilli burger, fries and onion rings. Everything came out hot and tasted fresh. This joint is out of the way but worth the drive.
I really don't understand what all the hype about this place is. I think it is way over priced for a very average burger. I ordered the special Rodeo Burger but added bacon, my husband ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger, we ordered the pork taco for my toddler and a side of onion rings and 2 bottled drinks all for $34. That's a lot in my opinion for not a lot of food. The burgers were just your average burger with nothing special to them. Nothing that set them apart from anyone else. The onion rings tasted like previously frozen, not hand battered. The pork taco was very good though. Good smoky flavor. But considering this place is known for their burgers I was extremely disappointed. We won't go back nor will we return. The overall experience was good, the guy that took our order was very pleasant, food came out promptly but again just your average burger and for $10 a burger I expected to be WOWED and was not.
Quaint, small town general store. Food was good, fresh, and well made. I ordered a simple cheeseburger, fries, and a drink and paid $24. This is California expensive in a very small, Texas town. If you are looking for value, this is NOT it!
Ok hamburgers. Nothing special. We spent $45 for 2 burgers, fries, onion rings and an iced tea. Seating is at picnic tables both inside and out.
First time here, I came at lunch and it was pretty busy, you order before you sit down. I got the green chili cheeseburger. The onion rings just for one order was $12 and when we got them they were barely hot the burger looks slapped together and not tasty. They dont have restrooms in the building it was about a 40-yard walk. I would not recommend this place to others, but it is definitely a local favorite just not for me.
Been awhile. Got a burger and fries to go. Very pricey over $20. Not the same. Burgers is a preformed patty. Fries were bland. I won't be back. They have a strong reputation for great burgers and used to enjoy this spot.
First time I ate at this place today, and it was the sloppiest burger I've ever seen. Disgustingly a total mess. Couldn't hold it due to falling apart, and had to use a knife and fork to eat it. The grilled onions were not real grilled onions. Regular onions are for real grilled onions, not red onions. The burger was really good, flavor wise, but that cook is useless. The bun just fell apart due to being too wet and soggy. Never again. Prices are very high in comparison with many othe food places. Dang near $40.00 for 2 cheeseburgers and 2 fries. You don't get fries with the burger like every other place. Almost $5.00 each for them. No drinks for the $40.00. Tell me what you think, people.
I've been coming here for years, but I'm afraid that time is over. This used to be a hidden gem with just about the best burgers anywhere. Now I'm afraid that the popularity and great reviews have made it easy to get complacent. Today's burger ($12+ for just the burger) was dry and the bun was small and squashed. I inquired about what kind of beef it was and was told "Ben E Keith." For those unaware, that's one of the largest restaurant suppliers, specializing in average everything. Since I was alone, I opted against the $6 onion rings. 😳 As I was leaving, the owner (? - maybe manager) asked how it was. My response was "very average." She repeated it, but offered nothing else. It appeared to me that she didn't really care. 🤷🏼♂️ Sad to see this one go, being only 10 minutes away.
Not sure I would return to this restaurant. Food was way overpriced for what you received. It was tasteless and nasty. And staff was intrusive while you were trying to eat. Not a good experience for what we paid.
Nice place to take a drive and get a burger, however extremely pricey for what you get! Service was great and the atmosphere was ok. Street parking is bad at best, not sure how they can allow trucks to park in front they are sticking out in road blocking visibility when you try and leave, not much parking. Not sure we will be coming back.. Decided to edit my review after the owners response.
