How this place got 4.4 stars is beyond me. The food is delicious (although a tad pricy), the service is highly attentive and top notch, and the atmosphere is nice and clean. We went on a Wednesday night and it was not that busy. The decor is nice and the bathrooms are clean. The small plates all look so good, but we went with the brussel sprouts and feta which we would absolutely order again. The former better than the latter in my opinion. The salmon entree was perfect and has we only ordered these 3 dishes, we would’ve been completely satiated. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs however and we got the vegan paella as well, which we mostly ended up taking home. This place is a great spot for a date night, night out with friends, or other upscale but not too fancy dinner. Great food and truly stand out service.
This is the best Mediterranean fusion joint in all of Ann Arbor! Everything was excellent here; the server, the staff, the food, and the atmosphere. I got the Gnocchi Asiago and the crispy brussel sprouts, and my partner got the Penne Au Poivre and the bread service the last time we came here; and it didn't disappoint! This is a great place for a date night or small get together.
The food and Atmosphere were great for my girlfriend's birthday! We loved the baked feta so much that we ordered it twice. Our waitress was very kind and informative. The lasagna had a unique and fantastic flavor. Some of the best hummus I have ever had! We are looking forward to returning in the near future!
What an amazing experience! We went here for my wife's birthday and they made it so special. There were flowers on the table and they brought a beautiful birthday dessert out. We don't eat dairy and this was the most accommodating restaurant we've ever been to. The waiter was knowledgeable about what was in the food and careful to bring the dairy parts on the side for the rest of our party. The food was delicious. This was easily the best experience we've ever had at a restaurant.

My husband and I had been wanting to try Mediterrano for quite sometime. We usually pass right by it on our way to the Olive Garden in that same plaza. We finally went in one day and was met with the most hospitable, manager, Megan, and our waiter, Jacob! Not only was the food presented elegantly, but our dishes were very delicious. I had the salmon on the menu, and my husband had the moist, favorable, chicken. The calamari was the best that I've had in a long time. Needless to say, we will be back! They made us feel like famous stars visiting for the first time on top of the food being amazing.
Our party of four had a fantastic dining experience at Mediterrano in Ann Arbor. This was our first dining experience with Mediterrano and are already planning our next visit! From the moment we entered, our greeting was warm and welcoming, with staff who made us feel right at home. Our small plates, salads and dinner arrived promptly and were incredibly fresh. Some of our favorites include the lemon drop martini, the bread service, chorizo stuffed dates, bravas potatas and salmon entree. The atmosphere was inviting and elevated the entire experience. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our visit and can’t wait to return!
I just ate here and service was great but the food was incredible. Our server Amanda described certain dishes with knowledge and I was impressed. I have the filet and I’ve eaten this cut in various high end places but never finished to this level with sides and sauces that matched meat in attention to detail. There were 2 others in my group and they cleaned their plates and were all completely satisfied. I live 4 hours away but would come here for this food. I look forward to my next work trip back.
We came here to celebrate my fiftieth and we were not disappointed! Chatting was super easy around the large table and we shared so many different small plates salads and entrees. We were not hurried by any of the staff, and we enjoyed every dish. Excellent restaurant!
Start to finish, this meal was awesome. First, we were very warmly welcomed, and seated right away. The service was fabulous, with great recommendations. The food was very flavorful and cooked perfectly. The bacon wrapped dates were a surprisingly delicious flavor combo. We got the lamb shank and the salmon for entrees, both awesome. Dessert (rice pudding) was amazing as well. Love that its family owned. This place has been hiding from me! We will be back in the very near future.
I’ve visited this Mediterranean restaurant three times, including for a birthday celebration, and it’s always exceptional. The food is exquisite, fresh, and full of flavor. The atmosphere is warm and festive, perfect for special occasions. Service is attentive and friendly. Highly recommended for anyone who loves Mediterranean cuisine.
Went here for a family holiday dinner. They knocked my socks off! The food is amazing, mouth-watering good! Staff is incredible. The atmosphere is cozy and wonderful. Highly recommend this hidden gem.
I’ve eaten at Mediterranean twice now, both overall lovely experiences! The first time I came in it was a Saturday afternoon and I was by myself. I enjoyed the food and excellent service by Pasha. Last night, I had my husband make us a reservation for 2 at 6:30 for my birthday as I had such an enjoyable meal previously. We sat outside and again the food was very delicious but I was a little disappointed in the overall experience. Several small things happened that just added up and took us out of the experience (flat water for my husband when he ordered sparkling, didn’t get my glass of red wine until we were almost done with the steak, the full salmon entree was brought instead of just an add on salmon for our pasta that we ordered so we had to wait a bit for that and ended up eating it on its own rather than with the pasta as we ordered - all small things which were eventually corrected. Also I think our server got busy with her indoor tables so maybe we should have just sat inside). Finally, I was mostly disappointed that I had to inform our server that it was my birthday (I’ve worked in the industry and usually if a special event note is put in with a reservation, the wait staff will be informed by either the host and/or management) even though my husband put in the reservation notes that it was my birthday. And then the dessert came out with no candle or happy birthday note like I saw in reviews pictured online - the waitress did say that she looked but couldn’t find one, it might be lame but I still would have appreciated the happy birthday caramel or chocolate drizzle or whatever… I was looking forward to special touches like that which usually can be expected from spending almost $200 on dinner. We ended up stopping to buy a candle on the way home. I’m still leaving 5 stars because I think it’s a great restaurant overall.
Clean atmosphere, nonchalant service and great food. I ordered the chicken souvlaki and my girlfriend ordered the mushroom fettuccine. The chicken was delicious and very well seasoned, the pasta tasted homemade and it was decadent. We had the bread service and spanakopita for an appetizer and both were thoroughly enjoyed. The bathrooms were clean and modern.
Food was delicious, service was fine. Our server forgot the cocktail straw! The Lasagna Aperto was yumm also the Moroccan Kebab🌟!! Crispy Brussel sprout was good but felt like the Michigan honey was missing in it.
Beautiful place, very good food however service was not good and meal took way too long with only 3 tables in the restaurant ( we had hummus app, salads grilled shrimp) got our food after 1 hr . There was an event going on in their banquet room so probably more focus on that. However good part is that we loved hearing the cooks in the kitchen and their laughter it made us smile .
My wife and I decided to check this place out because it was near by and has picturesque Mediterranean dishes. We started with bread service and lamb lollipops. This was the only Mediterranean place I've been to where bread was not an automatic starter, but it's cheap enough that it is fine. The taramasalata that came with bread service was very good (if you like fish & olives). The lamb lollipops were juicy and tender. For mains, we ordered Gnocchi Asiago and Taleggio Pappardelle. both dishes were in perfect portions. The Gnocchi Asiago was a colorful and summery dish. The gnocchi itself was a bit doughy, the kind that finds itself easily sticking to teeth. However this was made up for by the mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, and basil pesto. The Taleggio Pappardelle hit all the right spots; creamy, savory, delicious. I was a bit turned-off by having three different servers despite the restaurant being almost empty. Also, the last of whom thought it appropriate to sit down next to me while I signed the check. This made both me and my wife somewhat uncomfortable. Not a classy move. We'll be sticking with Paesano for Mediterranean food instead.
Not impressed, food was nothing special. Service lacking, hostess was the only one that acknowledged a customer was needing waitress service after waiting 15 minutes when I was one of only three tables in the entire place. Walked outside and a man was hacking up phlegm in the parking lot. There are so many restaurants in Ann Arbor, you would think customer service and food quality would be a priority. I won't recommend at all. Very disappointed. 2 stars for the friendly Hostess.
My family has been coming to Mediterrano since I was young. In fact, my brother's high school graduation was hosted here back in 2008 - that is to say, my family has been loyal customers to Mediterrano over the years and we've had many nice meals here. My husband and I were here a couple months ago in November and had one of the best paellas we've ever had in our lives (I believe it was the paella valenciana, with chicken and chorizo catalan). We were also here on Wednesday this week because we thought we'd try their restaurant week menu, and the service was the worst that we've ever experienced. I've worked multiple service jobs (barista/retail/concessions/cashier/etc) over the years, when I was in-between college & grad school, so I have a lot of compassion for fellow service workers since I know it's a tough job. To begin with, our waitress, Porsha N (we only know this was her name because it was on our receipt) came to our table, and didn't introduce herself. We let her know we wanted to try the restaurant week menu, and after waiting an additional 15 minutes, we finally had to flag her down to just get our drink requests taken (a white wine and a beer). She came back in less than a minute, but with two large glasses of red wine that we hadn't asked for - I told her those must have been for another table and I said 'remember just a minute ago you were here - we asked for the Sauvingnon and the IPA'. Instead of offering a simple 'oops sorry my mistake' or some version of that, she doubled-down that we had asked for those, even though literally less than one minute prior we had ordered two completely different drinks. She finally left the table with the two mysterious red wines, walked back to the kitchen, and then brought them back to the elderly couple that was seated in the booth in front of us. We were eventually brought our correct drink orders by another waiter, who was very speedy. We then flagged her down again, to ask her if we could choose our selections for the restaurant week menu, and pointed each item out. I noticed she wasn't writing anything down (which at this point seemed worrisome to us), so my husband and I decided to begin taking pictures of everything we ordered just in case since at that point we feared that this evening was going to end badly and we'd be charged for who knows what. Our first course was brought to us by a different waiter who seemed to know what they were doing, and was correct, so all good there. Our main course was also brought to us by a different waiter, also correct, so no worries either. After waiting another long stretch of time for our dessert selections, and our waitress nowhere to be seen (a common theme for most of the evening) my husband flagged down the bartender - who was very good by the way - and he instantly brought us what we ordered for our dessert. The waitress finally came back with our check at the end of the evening, and I stood up by the bar because I wanted to watch the transaction happen (we didn't trust her at that point for anything), saw me standing there, laughed at me in a mocking tone 'oh hahaha you're trying to pay for your bill?' and did the one correct thing she had done all evening which was charge us for our meal. Shortly before leaving, we heard a woman at a table across from us with her husband and son, exclaim to this same waitress 'this is the second time we've asked you for the dessert menu, and, to bag up our entrees for us'. Clearly we were not the only people that night who could have had a perfectly nice meal unfortunately tainted by the worst service we've ever experienced - actually, I believe the word service is generous, since looking back, she didn't actually bring us one single part of our entire meal, from the drinks to the dessert. The food itself: not bad, but could have been much better since everything was cold - another issue that could easily have been solved by having our waitress actually do her job that evening. The real MVPs: the bartender & other waiters who ended up doing everything.
We just had the thanksgiving dinner....Squash bique was too salty, too garlicly and way too thick to be served as a soup. Not sweet enough and missing pumpkin seeds or any garnishing. Turkey was dry and potatoes tasted like box potatoes. Too much cinnamon in yams. Salmon was not seasoned, it was tasteless and tasted quite bad. Overall it was quite underwhelming experience not what’s expected at Mediterrano's. The restaurant went from serving fine dining to serving subpar quality food. We have been coming here for years and quite disappointed at the thanksgiving dinner this year. Why did you switch up recipes from last year? Is was sooooo much better. I would have gotten the same quality and taste at Bob Evans for a better price. Definitely considering other restaurants next year.
