I just want to give a little feedback my server was really nice although she brought me a double mimosa I didn’t ask for lol also my food came out cold but fortunately they gave us a discount for that and also let us keep our cups. The only worrisome thing was that many of the servers\waitresses weren’t wearing their mask so that was a bit concerning but overall great place

Good classic American breakfast items with more flavor than the competition. Service was great and I couldn't complain about anything. I ordered The Cure and I would never hesitate to go back.

I was working in town for 3 weeks. For those 3 weeks I ate there every day. The staff is amazing and accommodating. I have not had a single bad meal there. It can get busy but the staff works hard get everybody seated and fed.

Wow actually beat my expectations even with all the great reviews. Great French toast that was actually hot with hot syrup; very hard to find. All the food was really good, with Friendly service. I definitely will bring family back here.

This was one of the best places I have been. There was a lot of really cool things to look at and it was just a great little diner. The food was fantastic! the french toast was the best I have ever had but all of it was delicious! BEST BREAKFAST SPOT EVER! We need one of these in Champaign, IL!!!

This was by far the best breakfast location I have ever been to!! I was sat semi fast even though the place was packed to the max and the food was served to us even faster then a fast food restaurant! I would highly recommend this place to everyone I know! Make sure to try out the Hot Links!!

Service was amazing, food was delicious and generous portions. Prices were very reasonable. The waitress even asked if we wanted more coffee in a to go cup. I've never been asked that.

One of the best brunches I've had. They have multiple Eggs Benedict options and their hollandaise sauce is on point. It's not too bitter or too sweet. They also have cheese fries with actual cheese sauce and not just shredded cheese sprinkled on top. They offer a variety of milkshake options and you get a lot for the price. The service was great. My only concern is that it seemed they were operating at full capacity despite the pandemic restrictions as it was pretty crowded. We had to wait about 15-20 minutes to be seated.

A great family-owned diner that needs your support! Great food and friendly service. I had the veggie scramble with avocado and a side of the homemade smoked corned beef brisket (I'm not a vegetarian). Just plain yummy. It was gone before I could take a picture if it. Sorry, you'll just have to go and try it yourself.

Staff was super friendly! Food was Amazing! Came out so quickly! The kids got the kids French toast and pancake with half side of country potatoes. I got the waffle meal with eggs and hash brown…cranberry juice was even great, it wasn’t watered down with a bad after taste like some restaurants. Omgsh I can’t believe I didn’t know of this place sooner! It was packed too but I got seated at the first come first serve counter. It was comfortable with plenty of arm room. First Star: Is the location neat? Yes. The floor is clean and the tables are promptly wiped down between guests. Second Star: Is the staff friendly? Yes. Every waiter has always been helpful and patient. Third Star: Is the service prompt? Yes. There's always a weekend brunch line outside but the turnover is fast. Once inside, food is never far from your order time. Fourth Star: Is the product/service satisfactory? Yes. The hash browns are crisp, the meats and eggs always come out to order. Fifth star: Is the price acceptable? Yes. It's reasonably priced diner food.

We visited on a weekday and the place was pretty full. We got fast and friendly service. This place is awesome with all the vintage wall decor. A sign said this place has been here since 1979!! That's impressive. Definitely will be a regular customer of Lumpy"s

Lumpy's is awesome. The food is really good, and the service is superb! They have steak and egg breakfast reasonably priced. They have a porterhouse breakfast with eggs and potatoes for like $13 or $14. They're very generous with their portions. if you would like it really good breakfast with really good coffee, this is the place!

Lumpy's in Antioch is a staple for my family. We frequent the diner 1-2 times a week, usually for breakfast on the weekend and a lunch during the week. We dine with friends and family regularly. The service is awesome, the staff is friendly and knows us by name. The food is delicious! If you like a nice sized breakfast the Full Breakfast is my favorite, although I dabble with the waffle breakfast from time to time. I recommend Lumpy's for all. Great place, great atmosphere, great service and great food!

I loved this place! I was visiting friends and this is their favorite breakfast place so they wanted me to try it out, and I'm so glad they did! I am a HUGE breakfast burrito fan and theirs really stacks up towards the top for sure! I wish I would have taken a picture, it was a beauty! Crispy potatoes/hash browns, delicious meat (I had bacon), eggs and a side of salsa, SO GOOD! They offer a sear/toast which is what I do with mine at home so I agreed and it was done perfectly! While it was a good size and filled my belly, I could have eaten another half or more because it was so good. My buddy got a scramble, it was huge and looked absolutely delicious. The Crew there were all very friendly and on top of things. The atmosphere is a great vibe, they are decked out like a classic diner with classic cars and an old timey type of theme. Fair prices, a lot of options for breakfast and lunch (and dinner?), I highly recommend!!

What a fantastic place for breakfast. First time over the weekend and I arrived right before the crowd. Super friendly staff, excellent service and great menu options. I love the mini breakfast. It was just enough to start my day. Fresh hot coffee and a clean restaurant. Service with a smile was refreshing to see. The staff seemed like they were family.

I've known Digger and the family for years. Since they opened up Diggers diner in Concord... love the food and I love the fact they treat you like family when you become a "regular" lol.. my go to is the lumpy stub with mushrooms... mushrooms are Xtra but definitely worth it if you like mushrooms

Lumpy's modern day throw back to the diners from the 50s and 60s. If he were alive today Norman Rockwell would have painted a scene from this nostalgic place. Great atmosphere lots of really cool things to look at. Fabulous owners and staff. Food was awesome, tasted great a lot of food for your buck. Sitting here going through writing this review my mouth is watering for the french toast. It was the first time in over a decade I had a perfectly cooked over medium egg. This place blows all other breakfast places away. You should definitely go and experience their breakfast.

this is NOT a give start restaurant, it's a5 start review. it's basically a 50's diner, and the food and service is great! lumpy was a great guy and the current staff honors his memory by keeping his vibe alive... I love this place

This was a pleasant surprise. Seated quickly, and then forgotten. Had to ask who my waitress was and finally she came around, took our order. Someone else brought it, someone else offered more coffee, busboy brought ToGo boxes, someone else brought the check. Food was plentiful and HOT when it was brought. Reasonable prices. Will be going back. Check for busy times, possible 30-45 minute wait.

The ambiance is perfect for a quick meal after a hard day of work. Delicious burgers best paired with a beer! Their malts and milkshakes are delicious too. The staff are always friendly, outgoing and quick to serve. I love coming here and oftentimes they have cool cars sitting outside.

It's a diner...with good food. Breakfast is what they are known for, but they have plenty of lunch items. Got the Cali Burger with Frings. Perfect amount and tasted great.

I have lived in Oakley for years, can’t believe this is the first time here! Doesn’t look much from the outside but the inside looks pretty cool. Looks like an old diner with your normal adds on the wall, old Route 66 placard and a mural painted on one wall. Love the vibe, the smells of good food and the loud sound of the hustle and bustle of the kitchen! The food was amazingly delicious. I think I tried everyone’s food on the table. The chicken and waffles, Buffalo wings, French toast, and Eggs Benedict with sweet potato fries. Those bacon that came with my French toast were nice and crunchy and they were not one of those skinny bacons. The staff were super nice and very attentive. And their nice smiles were an added bonus! They kept the refills going. I didn’t know what to expect about the price but I think it was standard. Oh FYI, their hours of operation is very limited so if you want to come they’re only open until 1pm and it gets crowded. So be prepared to wait a little.

Such a great little place. Featured on Food Network according to the door. The place is in an easy to find area. The food is amazing, we had breakfast. The French toast and Denver omlet were so good. Big portions for prices. Drip coffee is good. Staff are very friendly and fast but can get started tracked with all the customers so if something if forgotten (ie coffee refills or straws, etc) just ask. They are very nice. Will definitely be coming back here again.

STILL HITS! After all these years of ups and downs, they still got it right. If you want the greasy American goodness of flavors, come here, and you will be happy. BUST Every now and then, I stop by to pick up food to go since Covid. I'm still happy with what I always get. Everyone is so nice and friendly. Food is as expected. I always get full breakfast with country fried steak. Can't vouch for anything else, but if you order the full breakfast with country fried steak, you won't be disappointed.

I took my family and we tried this place. I've seen lots of good reviews, so I ordered the bacon cheeseburger, and my wife and kids ordered breakfast. It's o k it's not the best Will I ever go back probably not. I just think this place is too Overrated On reviews Not bad but not great

I want to come back and give this place a second try. I had the jalapeno jack burger, and I think I was the least satisfied person in my party. The burger was fine, but I've had better. That said, the service and fries were good, and everyone else who went with me seemed to really love it. I'll update this review whenever I get the chance to come back, although it might be a while.

My 2 visit in 4 years in area. Convenient and the food is good as well as the portions. My only negative is the noise. Pretty boisterous clientele. Some werw pretty using obscene language, like they were in a trashy bar

Great little diner. Excellent for breakfast or lunch or anytime you're looking for some good ol' American comfort food. The last time I went I had the wonderful French dip. Definitely try the fried green beans. Or the chicken fried steak. The staff is always really friendly & the service is great.

Great service and good food. Quality of ingredients may have slipped a bit in last 2 years. The westergrilled chicken was not as good as it used to be. Chicken was slightly dryer and toast wasn't as good. Overall still a great meal in a freedom loving place.

The cinnamon roll was huge and sweet and the coffee was delicious. The staff were wonderful and everybody checked on us just often enough. The breakfasts were tasty, except for going too light on the seasonings on the hash browns and the ground beef inside my otherwise tasty enchilada omelet. I'd definitely go back and try again.

Friendly staff but don't sit close to the door on a cold and windy day. Drink prices are very reasonable at $3 for beer and $4 for a generous glass of champagne. Breakfast servings are very generous and served promptly. Great place to go if you are really hungry but expect to wait on weekend mornings as the place is very popular.

Stopped in for a bite at lunch on afternoon. I got some Cajun Cheese Fries, and a BLAT. The Cheese Fries were good, but not great. The BLAT was pretty good. No shortage of Bacon or Avocado. Service was good, and the price was super fair. I'd stop in for lunch again.

I recently stopped by this classic diner in Antioch, and it was quite the experience. The atmosphere was lively, with a nostalgic vibe that took me back in time. I decided to try their signature burger, and it did not disappoint. The patty was juicy, cooked to perfection, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. The portion size was generous, leaving me fully satisfied. However, the fries were a bit underwhelming; they lacked the crispiness I usually enjoy. On the bright side, the staff was friendly and attentive, making sure my coffee cup was never empty. One thing to note is that the place can get quite busy during peak hours, so there might be a bit of a wait. But overall, if you're in the mood for some hearty comfort food in a welcoming setting, this spot is worth checking out.

We visited on Saturday morning around 9:30AM. It was about a 30-minute wait to be seated, which is okay, but their waiting area is very small. Once we were seated, our drink order was taken, and our drinks were brought out right away. We ordered our food, and it was brought out pretty quickly. I ordered the Biscuit and Gravy with eggs and bacon. The biscuit was really good. It was dense but still fluffy. It had a bit of a sweet flavor. The gravy was thinner than a normal gravy. It had a good flavor, but I prefer a thinner gravy. The eggs were cooked well, and with a bit of salt and pepper, they had good flavor. The bacon had good flavor, but it could have been cooked a bit longer. The serving size of the biscuit and gravy was smaller than normal.... but it was just right for me. The (2) pancakes were large and had good texture but were slightly cool. In general, all of the food could have been warmer, but I understand that we were there at a very busy time. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back, but we would try to get there early, and I would try their Eggs Benedict.

Kitchen restaurant, a lot of random Diner decor. Very noisy, all the walls and hard surfaces just contribute to the echo. If the place is full, and music's on you will have to shout your order to the waiter. Menu is decent, food was good. Portions were smaller than what I would have expected, when you order biscuits and gravy, you expect to get at least two or three decent size biscuits with a healthy dose of gravy. The biscuits were about 2 and 1/2 in in diameter and about an inch high. They look like something that came out of a bag that was heated. Gravy was okay it's your basic powder mixed with milk and heated. I'm an Aficionado of biscuits and gravy. This is not what I would call authentic Midwestern food. But for California it's as good as you're going to get they make excellent milkshakes when the ice cream machine is working.

My client and I were out in the area and she wanted to stop at lumpy for breakfast/lunch. Upon arriving we were sat as soon as we entered however it seemed to go down hill from there. We waited 15 minutes to place an order another 1/2 hour to get our order and my clients toast was burnt and bacon wasn't crispy. The people behind us who came in after was served their food before us. I ordered a dinner salad and I think they barely chopped the lettuce As you can see I got the end of the stock. This was my first time there I wished I could say it was a great experience.

Ok, this is not a knock on Lumpy's overall. We thoroughly enjoy the food & service. This past weekend we stopped by to grab a couple of milkshakes. We've had them before & they were good. This time, not good at all. I ordered a chocolate shake. Hard to mess that up if you use chocolate ice cream. Apparently they used vanilla soft serve with chocolate syrup. Horrible. My lady ordered strawberry. Hers was the same, vanilla with strawberry flavoring. It's unfortunate because Lumpy's always uses quality food. For a $ more I will head to an ice cream shop next time. Better yet, use real ice cream and we will be back for our shakes.

This was my awesome breakfast place, WAS! IT Was a great place till I got passed up and then was told another 20min+ wait when already waited 20mins. Yes I know it's the weekend and took it into accountability plus table setting and booth space anit noway imma wait any longer. I'll be going to ihop for now on. At least I'll know what I'll get there..

So many positive comments I hate to spoil the positive streak. Home fries were dropped into the fryer and a handful of raw peppers and onions tossed in top. Server was friendly. Asked for one 50c size pancake for a 6mo. old baby to gum in lieu of toast and was given a full size pancake with butter and syrup and charged full price(Was barely touched, of course). I'd rather go to Digger's in Brentwood.

So, for as busy as it was, I was not impressed. It was probably a lot better when the owner who passed away has run it. The gravy was bland, eggs were meh, and I overall didn't have a lot of flavor. Our waitress was great. I dont hold anything against her. Huge cup of coffee, but it was super watered down. I hate giving a lower grade review, but I would not waste my time trying it out. Coffee shops have better breakfast, IMO.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Edit to this original post 12/24/23- last 2 visits have been horrible. I just left on Christmas Eve. Sat at counter. Got my coffee. Told the guy I didn’t need a menu. Sat for 20 min. Asked to place order. I was ignored. Almost 20 years of eating here. I am done. I will not return. Start going to Duggers I. Brentwood instead.

I took my mother to lumpy's diner for the first time, and we were both told to go there for the Burger experience. When we got there, the waiters never helped us, we waited for 20mins with no service, there were'nt many customers there so we realized that we didn't receive service because of our nationality. At that point we left out to get our meal service from the local Denny's restaurant. I would never recommend Lumpy's diner to anyone, especially someone of minority background.

These people have poor hospitality skill. It took forever to get my meal. And when they gave it to us . The order was wrong, we sent it back... and it was still wrong. Not much flavor in their cooking unless bacon is added. Overall we felt like we weren’t heard . We also. Did not appreciate how couples would come in after us and still get their meal before us. Anyway. I would not recommend coming to this spot

It’s a shame that the waitresses have forgotten that the customer comes first. Three times we were completely ignored while they filled salt shakers, talk to each other, stock supplies, and anything and everything but attend to, acknowledge the presence of and serve the customer. It wasn’t that busy and went at different days/times, and was completely ignored every time. Horrible irritating lack of service. There’s plenty of places that want our business so we won’t be back.

Service was horrible. Very busy eating food with the Manager? Busser had a scowl on her face and half heartedly cleaned the tables. Held hostage with the check to include other tables. Physical had to get up to ask for it and our actual server had no idea where it was. Had ask what we ordered. This was a Tuesday at 11am. Food is ok at best. Eggs cooked wrong, Burger wrong temp and zero follow up! Just skip it and go to Diggers. If you do go plan to sit at a dirty table, be ignored, maybe get our drinks, sub par food that someone else brings you, one drink no refills, get your own check, and maybe just maybe you might get to be a regular and talk to the staff while they eat and disappear. Rascal discriminated employees against a black woman. I walked in and was not greeted. I sat myself down. I watch three employees walk past me for five minutes and did not acknowledge at all. Three white people walked in and immediately an employee (young guy) welcomes them and gives them a menu. Keep in mind I STILL haven’t been greeted, said hello to or given a menu. I had to say excuse me but how are they being served and I was here first? Two employees turned around and try to say oh I don’t know. Did you want something to drink. I couldn’t believe it! Another employee said oh I was about to give you a menu. I ask to speak to a manager and the employee said they don’t have one today. Why would a manager not be present in the establishment? Unprofessional. I will never come here again.

Went into to get some breakfast with my girlfriend, and she ordered French toast and we asked the server if there was cinnamon in the toast since she’s extremely allergic so she ordered it and the first bite she took she could tell something was off so she asked me to try it and it didn’t really taste like it but turns out the eggs had cinnamon in it and she has a slight allergic reaction and I had to buy her Benadryl for it. I’m honestly extremely upset about this since my girlfriend is really allergic. I’ve never heard about cinnamon on eggs and she didn’t even touch the egg’s well just the toast part. That’s how allergic she is. I’m disappointed in my visit since last time I head here was high school and thought it be a change for someplace new to eat with her.

Food is disgusting. Order chicken and waffles. Waffles had old food residue on the bottom and taste burnt. Chicken was overcooked and dried and had them make me new ones and it came out even more overcooked. When the waitress went to tell them they just laughed. No wonder they're cookers. Waitress sucked, spent more time talking and eating and reason they didn't get a tip.

Service was great, food was horrible. Ordered the Kitchen Sink Omelette. Thing was dry, rubbery and flavorless. I can usually finish a meal if I add some salt, pepper and hot sauce and just muscle through an "okay" meal. That couldn't save this meal. Only real saving grace was the cinnamon roll, but even that's not a good enough reason to recommend this place.
