Marianne's is one of the lost wonderful institutions in Santa Cruz county. I remember my father taking me and my brother to the original (Santa Cruz) store 40 years ago. The Aptos location isn't as old, but the ice cream is just as great in a quieter neighborhood. The people are always friendly and the place is open very late. I think they may be the only place open in Santa Cruz County after 9pm that isn't a bar. Anyhow Marianne's is a treasure. Try the "4am Truffle", you won't regret it!

The perfect stop before or after a trip to Seacliff beach. Friendly staff that you can tell enjoy their jobs. Lots of great flavors to try and very generous portions. You can even grab a pint to go!

Last time I got chocolate chip and macapuno (coconut). The coconut one was really good, but the 1020 is God. Take it home and make a brownie with ice cream. Nothing can beat that

We ordered the Otter 841 & Heaven recommended by the very sweet Arthur! Hubby and I really love the flavors that were mixed together! There are a lot of flavors to choose from so anyone would be able to enjoy it! A great little pit stop after the beach!

First time at this Marianne's location in Aptos! Since I'm lactose intolerant, I absolutely love their strawberry sorbet. The two of us shared a 3 scoop. It didn't really fit the cup, so might make more sense to get a 2 scoop. It was just as good as I remembered. Fresh strawberry flavor and a creamy finish. Not overly sweet. Ticket system. Pull a number and they will call you out. Staff is friendly, and will let you try flavors. Seating inside and outside. Street parking only.

Best hands down, can’t argue with me on this. Best ice ever! :) It may not look appealing (picture below) but trust me it was good. Pictures is Mudpie ice cream, topped with marshmallow fluff, in a cone. Super creamy, crunchy, and not too sweet. Atmosphere, was a bit crowded and packed. But they have a number system which makes things easier. They have tables for you to sit down at also. Overall! Would 100% go back again!

Pretty perfect. Not too sweet, the flavors really come through. Excellent texture. We tried the banana (never had banana ice cream before and was very skeptical),chocolate peanut butter cup and the coffee almond fudge. We loved them all. This is where we will come for our ice cream fix from now on. It's time for them to open the inside seating again, it's getting kind of rediculous at this point.

Friendly and helpful staff, who make great recommendations for the various chocolate flavor varieties. Local customers are courteous but beware of the rude undisciplined valley ones.

So good. We stopped by yesterday for a sweet. My family loved all the flavors and varieties that Marianne had to offer. Everything is delicious and handmade. The service was fast and friendly. My wife can't wait to go back.

I believe for this area, the ice cream here is good. However: the interior feels cheap with that vinyl floors, considering the premium price to pay. Also the ice cream is not made on site but trucked in in prepackaged containers so I assume it's not necessarily freshly made every day.
