Had their pizza for the first time a month ago it was great... Have gotten it 3 more times since then

I personally know the family that runs this establishment and I always feel like family walking in. Their cheese slices are always on point and they repainted the interior a few months ago. Definitely a nice spot.

Pepperoni pizza was BOMB. Spinach roll had way too much feta but I picked around it. Really good value for the prices. My pizza was HUGE. I usually order from Rey's pizza in corona but this will be my new spot.

They have a great variety of slices and any of their chicken slices, like the chicken bacon ranch, are pretty tasty. Staff is friendly. Good for eat in or takeout, although the interior is a little small.

The sauce is sweet, the staff is nice. The slices taste fresh even at 3 in the morning. (Seriously, how many late night spots can claim this?) Top notch pizzeria.

I tried mela pizza on a random day around a neighborhood that is not mine. As with any new pizza place, at first I felt scared that I wouldn't be into the pizza. But, boy! Was I wrong. I liked the the crust as it wasn't soft. The crust was the right amount of tick and toasty. The cheese was stringy and melted just enough to water in my mouth but also let me chew it. I had a regular slice as well as a Hawaiian slice. I recommend it and will go back without thought when I am around again.

This is the very best bottom of the subway stairs, 1 am, mostly sobered by those bright N lights pizza in the whole world. Sauce is good. Cheese has some pull. It is only just fine during the day, but you know.

Mela is a neighborhood mainstay. They are easily my go-to for slices, especially late at night. They can be a little tricky with hours or app ordering but their quality is worth it. I have never had negative experiences with customer service; in fact, I often have a slice or some garlic knots comped. This is some of the best pizza in Astoria.

This place. There were a few stores that failed at this location, it was a Boston style pizza place right before it became Bella. I wondered if it would stay. It did. You want good service, walk in and place your order - it's old school like that. I remember one time some F.O.B. asked for ketchup with his slice and the old Italian guy gave it to him but lifted his hand to his mouth to bite it while mumbling his disagreement to the situation - it's old school like that. Like anything else it tastes the best when it's freshly made so go in and ask for it. I go here when i want a slice.

I grabbed two slices of cheese to go with a friend late on a Saturday night. The pizza was alright. The crust wasn't too dry, but the flavor of the slices were lacking without a generous helping of cheese. Still, we were able to take it directly to the N station and eat, so it is a convenient stop.

I like the pizza here a lot, but I find that the customer service can be very spotty. I've had to call numerous times about issues. Sometimes it is easy, but if you catch someone at the wrong time, they get obviously aggressive.

Expensive for what!? With my friends I had the Empanadas, Pizza, and baked ziti. All of these to me were a miss. The empanadas were subpar, the baked ziti was mid and the pizza tasted like 99c pizza to be honest. Nice people though

Adequate pizza, but horrible delivery. Never pay in cash, they like to round up to the nearest 1/2 dollar in their favor. I gave it an extra star since it’s near the train.

Not much variety of flavors when we were there. Just ok pizza. Dough was on the thin side, personally. Service was just ok as well. I think this spot has its regulars who come by due to convenience and they keep it at that.

Pizza is just ok. No spices available, not even red pepper or cheese. Sodas are warm. No ice available. But pizza is good. Definitely I'll be back for the pizza & bring my own cold soda this summer

Ordered this pizza from the too good to go app (i know not the best sample size). The guy was kind of rude and the pizza wasn't the best I've had in Astoria. Also if you plan on ordering from them on the too good to go app, they were skimpy compared to other pizzerias. The front girl said to pick any 3 slices, (I guess that's usually the case) but the guy abruptly said no only two. Wasn't terrible pizza but many other places nearby that I've enjoyed more.

A few years ago this place was my go to spot after clubbing at don coqui. Not sure what happened walked in here last week (7 o clock at night) and the pizza looked as if it was sitting out all day. Was all dry and not fresh. Ordered a chicken roll and was subpar.

Food needed more flavor. And a lot of the bread items - pizza, garlic knots, pinwheel, croutons, were doughy and limp. Mediocre overall. Didn't keep the leftovers, which I almost never do.

Ordered delivery. Waited 90 minutes never showed up, was quoted 30-45 minutes. Called back and they never picked up. Do not order delivery from them!

Again, WHEN are you open? Online says until 1:30 tonight, walked 20 minutes to get here at 11:30, already closed.

I placed an order more than a half hour before closing time and received confirmation from Seamless that it was received by the restaurant and would arrive in 40-50 minutes. After waiting an hour and a half I called the restaurant and no one answered. I had to call Seamless customer service just to get my money refunded. If you aren't going to honor orders that come within a half hour of closing time, you shouldn't accept them.

Ordered our food for delivery, said it would arrive at our hotel in 20 minutes. One hour later, still no food. Called and asked and was told it was on the way. Two minutes later we get a call saying that our order was never put in and that they would give us a free soda (Whoopie). Hour later... Still no food.Finally over two hours after we called the first time to order, our food arrives, not what we ordered and no soda. Worst service I've ever witnessed. Don't even bother.

The customer service is horrible and they are very rude. The pizza is not even that good I do not recommend. There are better pizza shops around.

It took 1h50 min for my pizzas to arrive. I've been told 45 to 50 minutes - I was reluctant to accept, but I would have said no to 1h30+ and would have gone with a plan B. It's late and my family is really tired and hungry. I only chose Mela Pizza because of a leaflet at my hotel, but it was a bad choice. Pizza got here cold and dry.

Hands down the worst customer service I have ever received. I paid for several slices to take out, walked home and found that they had left some slices out of the box. When I went back the lady told me it wasn’t an issue, even though I had paid for them. The worst customer service I have seen now on multiple occasions. I would never go back.

Placed an order on seamless only to have it canceled with no reason given tried to contact the restaurant they had no clue what I was talking about I contacted seamless they told me to place the order again I did It was canceled again. Not good, if craving pizza crave something else and go elsewhere.. edit: calzone definitely wasn’t fresh, very little pepperoni and it was burnt.

Never order from these guys. I placed an order on a Sunday afternoon for a salad, a pizza, a dessert and a coke. They said that my order will be there in 20 minutes. It did not get to me for over an hour. I called once and the person on the other end was very rude saying why am i calling and what do i want from them. When the food finally arrived, the pizza was already cold, the salad was mushy because the vegetables in it gave off juice, they did not include the drink (but of course billed me for it) and got me a completely wrong dessert. Never again!

I ordered a pizza and it never came. Finally after an hour and half I called, the guy mentioned he didn’t have a delivery guy but called seamless for my refund. I reached out to seamless and they had no recollection of them calling. Common sense if you do not have a delivery person

Friend ordered pizza and the restaurant accepted via Seamless app. However, they never delivered the order and kept my friend's money anyway. Only scam artists accept an order and decide not to deliver. Not the kind of reputation a new business should be looking for.

It’s a shame such s mediocre pizza place is located at such an amazing location. The pizza is unappetizing. The dough is dry and lacking flavor. And there was hardly any cheese or toppings. Overall an uninspired lifeless pizza place. It would appear they are only still in business due to their proximity to the train station.

DON'T ORDER DELIVERY! HEED THE WARNINGS! You see, this is why you read reviews before ordering pizza. I was desperate and just trusted the flyer from the Howard Johnson hotel here. I didn't Google it. I didn't Yelp it. I didn't even Bing it. I blindly called and ordered the simplest of orders: half cheese, half pepperoni. They took my credit card information and then told me it would take 40 minutes. That's too long, but I didn't question it. And then my family and I waited. And waited... and waited ... for exactly 56 minutes. So I called and canceled the order. If they don't refund my money like what some of the other reviews say, I'll have to give ol' AmEx a call.
