I stopped in for a late lunch and had a nice experience. We were seated right away, which is always a great start. We shared the cashew queso and the fish tacos; the queso was easily an 8/10, super creamy with great flavor, and the fish tacos were a solid 7/10, fresh and satisfying without feeling too heavy. Service was a little slow at times, but the staff was friendly and welcoming, which made up for the wait. Overall, it was a good lunch experience, and I’d definitely come back to try more from the menu!
As a VERY sensitive celiac I was nervous about eating here but they assured me from the moment I walked in the door that it was safe for me, and it was! The food was AMAZING I got the French toast and the breakfast hash, the French toast was just so awesome it was so nice to have food that was safe and yummy. Shoutout to Dane he was a great server super helpful and really made the experience a 10/10.
To start, everything is scratch made and they ask everyone about any allergies without prompting. Also, all bread is gluten free but I would have never guessed from the taste. The food is flat out amazing! And the service top notch. You can tell that people here take pride in their work.
I was traveling through Austin on a work trip and wanted to grab lunch with a friend who lives in the area. Since I’m doing a round of Whole30, I did some research to find a restaurant that would be Whole30 friendly and settled on Picnik. This place lives up to my expectations and more! When I mentioned my dietary preferences to the server, he immediately suggested some dishes and substitutions that would work. My friend and I both LOVED our food and the service was quick! I would love to come back here on another visit to Austin.
The food here was so delicious. The creativity of the chef is apparent, as I would not have been able to come up with the flavor combinations of the "Forbidden Chicken and Black Rice" dish I had. I will definitely be returning to try some other great things next time I'm in the area. They are also known for being accommodating to food allergies and other restrictions. Their outdoor seating is covered, making it a great option.
One of my favorite spots in Austin! Everything is gluten free and extremely delicious! I highly recommend the smashed potato nachos, the queso, the chicken tenders, the crispy chicken bowl, the hot honey sandwich, the Cobb salad, the list goes on. We’ve also come in for breakfast and LOVED the biscuits!
An awesome gluten-free place to eat that isn’t overly expensive. $40 for two in 2026 is not bad. Its a good and fair price especially when you consider it’s all gluten-free specialized food. The waitress was also very nice.
Seed oil free in Austin. Woo hoo. A place that doesn’t use a pre-mixed sugar-matcha. Yay! Incredibly good eggs and potatoes. Caring service. The whole experience is so good. Tasty food, helpful service, and nourishing food. 10 out of 5 stars.
Picnik is one of those places that just feels like a yes the moment you walk in. The food is fire, the vibes are cozy and elevated, and everything on the menu feels like it was created with so much intention. I’m especially excited right now because you can feel this next chapter opening up — new ideas, new creations, and even more innovation on the way. This restaurant was already a staple, and it somehow keeps getting better. If you’re looking for a spot that’s delicious, conscious, and genuinely uplifting… Picnik is it. 🙌✨ seed oil free, organic, grass fed meat! Also Naomi is back woohoo!
★★★★★ Picnik is pure magic and I am SO thrilled that Naomi is back at the helm. 💛 You can feel her touch in every detail — from the menu to the energy in the space. This restaurant has always been epic, but you can already sense it leveling up again in the most intentional, nourishing way. I’m beyond excited to see all the new ways she’s going to innovate, inspire, and keep raising the bar for what conscious, feel-good food can be. Grateful this place exists, grateful Naomi is back, and highly recommend Picnik to anyone who wants to feel taken care of from the inside out. 🌿✨
Love this spot! Appreciate that it’s gluten free and lots of dairy free options You can stop in just for a beverage or sit down for a whole meal. It’s still not a coffeeshop vibe where you can park yourself with a laptop. Small selection of seating for those just getting beverages. Staff is friendly and helpful. I’ve taken friends here and they don’t usually like it as much as I do if they’re not gluten free already. So I would save this spot for your health nut friends. Great options for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. Parking is pretty good here but fills up during peak times. The music was a little bit loud, too loud for my grandpa. Normal for Austin but not ideal for the elderly.
We had a wonderful breakfast here for our anniversary! When traveling, we are always looking for gluten free and dairy free for our allergies. Picnik exceeded our expectations with 100% gluten free and many dairy free options. We enjoyed the blueberry pancakes and the farmhouse breakfast with hot green teas!
Love love love! Great food for everyone and snazzy vibes. Went for a friend’s bachelorette brunch, and it did not disappoint. Very good service and the menu options were perfect for my friends with VERY unusual and restrictive allergens. I am not allergic to gluten, so I don’t always love gluten free products when I try them, but Picnik’s food was top tier to any crowd!
Oh my gosh I wish TN had a Picnik!!! As a celiac, I was so excited to eat here and the food did not disappoint! In a group of 8, we had 3 celiacs, but everyone raved about their meals! We ordered a bunch of different things because when offered this many options that we can’t normally have, we just couldn’t decide what to choose!! The biscuits, chicken tenders & fried chicken were amazing, as was everything else, but these not usually gf-items were just as gooos as the regular version!! Also loved that there were no seed oils! If I’m ever back in Austin, I will DEFINITELY be back!
Since I'm going through some health issues right now, I've been looking for healthier restaurant options. When I saw this place on the My Health Forward website, I knew I had to try it. They're gluten-free and don't cook with seed oils, which is a big plus for me. I have to say, this is one of the few places I've eaten where I didn't feel heavy or bloated afterward--I just felt satisfied. I ordered the Farmhouse Breakfast, and it was hearty! I substituted the bacon with their chicken and the toast with their biscuit. Everything in the meal was delicious, but the smashed potatoes absolutely blew my mind. I definitely need to try their loaded smashed potatoes next time because if the plain ones were that good, I can only imagine how amazing the loaded ones will be! My husband got the Hot Chicken Breakfast Sandwich, and he really enjoyed it. We also tried the blueberry pancakes, which were okay--a little on the bland side. I didn't try the elixirs this time around, but I definitely plan to next time. I loved how light and satisfying this place was overall. Service was great and so was ambience.
Soooooo good! Everything is gluten free. The loaded smashed potatoes appetizer is to die for! It gets crowded around noon, so prepare for that. I’m so sad that their 1st St location closed but this one is so cute and enjoyable. Service is excellent and the waiters are knowledgeable on food allergies. The chicken tenders don’t even taste gluten free. They’re AMAZING!
I went here for a friend's birthday because she can't eat anywhere else (a few autoimmune diseases, extreme dietary restrictions, etc.) There were 7 of us that had reserved seating (plus a baby) and we were greeted very politely and seated right away. The place is smaller but super cute, cozy, and clean with a minimal chic vibe, with parking in the front or back, and a small back patio type area with seating. Everything on the menu looks mouth-watering, I'll definitely have to go back to try more. We ordered the Brussel Sprouts for an appetizer, and some people ordered the Harvest Hash and other items I don't remember, and I ordered the Fish Taco Plate. All of the food was sooooooo goooood and tasted fresh and clean. Our birthday friend couldn't have the free dessert they bring for birthdays, but they brought out a cheesecake anyway as well as the brownie for the rest of us to share, which was super thoughtful. I also had the Pitaya Margarita which was different and delicious. I would definitely suggest this place as a must try, and you won't be disappointed!

I'm not GF but we had family visiting who was. Picnik was a highlight of their trip in terms of food, and as a picky and terrible eater the steak and eggs was great for me!
Sad they got rid of the original breakfast sandwich which is literally the best breakfast sandwich in the entire world. Place is still my favorite breakfast restaurant of all time.

Really good food, decent price and atmosphere. Gluten free. The thoughtfully crafted gluten-free offerings, such as the French toast and well executed smashed potatoes, are a testament to the kitchen’s attention to detail. I really like the complimentary tap water scene they have on the patio
Always great to eat at a gluten free restaurant that’s knowledgeable about ingredients. The staff knew the menu well and had recommendations for certain allergies. The food was fresh and delicious. Food is good and atmosphere is nice but the management should have never gotten away from the old menu. New one just doesn't hit the same. Going to have to find a new brunch spot .
A little on the pricey side but their food is clean and their biscuits are the best I've ever had! Very cute and modern atmosphere.

We went to the 1st street location for lunch twice while visiting Austin. We really enjoyed the blueberry muffins! The other meals were got were all very good but nothing to get too excited about. …
Great service makes up for the ok food. Took a risk and ordered a chicken sandwich breakfast style, the bun was soaked in maple syrup (maybe I should have asked prior to ordering but the menu wasn’t specific about it) so I didn’t enjoy it at all. The sweet potatoes were ok, but $22 for a chicken sandwich (what you see in the picture) that I could barely eat was very disappointing. The ginger/turmeric juice I ordered prior to my meal was amazing though.

My husband and I used to really enjoy dining at Picnic at Burnet. It was one of our go-to spots, and we genuinely liked the atmosphere and the food when we ate there in person. However, over the past several months we’ve ordered takeout about 5–6 times, and the experience has been consistently disappointing, especially with the guacamole and chips. The portion of chips you receive is extremely small. For $20, you literally get around 15 chips at most. To have what would normally be considered a reasonable amount of chips for guacamole, you have to order an additional side, which makes the price even more unreasonable. Since the management changed (the original owners left around January 2026), the food quality and portions have noticeably declined. The guacamole recipe itself seems different now, and the portion sizes are tiny compared to what they used to be. This most recent order really sealed it for us. Paying $20 for such a small portion of chips and guacamole is unacceptable. Unfortunately, because of the decline in quality and value, we won’t be dining here again and wouldn’t recommend that others spend their money here either.
First time, last time. Guacamole was super salty with no particular flavors. The chips were so greasy that I had to wipe my hands all the time, chips had poor flavor too. The Brussels sprouts were over fried and also super greasy. The burger was ok. Had to take some enzymes to avoid an indigestion. Won’t return.
